Ten years ago, she took something from me and shattered my world. She left then, leaving me to deal with the aftermath. And now she's back just to taunt me. I loathe Tempany Davies. But now she's all grown up, and a walking temptation that I can't give into. Because not only do I hate her for ruining my life, she's now my new stepsister, and clearly off limits. But temptation is hard to resist, and I'm beginning to wonder if the saying about there being a fine line between love and hate is true.
TEMPANY
After ten years I’m back in Lockgrove Bay. And it’s not exactly the welcome home I was imagining. I’m stupidly falling for Ashton Castello, the cocky basketball team captain, who hates me with a fiery passion. And he just so happens to now be my new stepbrother. That should keep me away, but I’m being tempted by him. And I’m that girl, the one falling for her bully of a stepbrother.

A writer of loveable Aussie heroes. Queen of Angst and Drama
Caz May is a librarian/teacher by trade but was always destined to be an author from a young age. In her spare time, she can be found devouring books or writing her own stories with characters that may not be the typical romance heroes but are loveable just as much. Caz is married to her own real-life bearded hero and has two fur babies. She lives for Iced coffee, especially from Gloria Jeans or a Farmers Union but pretty much just loves food in general. When she’s not writing or reading a book most likely she can probably be found asleep or binge-watching shows on Netflix.
Style: Bully Romance (High School) Story: 3.5/5 Enjoyment: 4/5 Dark Level: 1/5 Sexual: GOOD Triggers: Yes Male: Intense, Sports Series: Book 1 Pages: 277 Kindle Unlimited: Yes
STORY: I’ll start by saying, I am not a fan of step-brother romances, but if it entices me, I can read it. I like that Ashton isn’t the typical popular kid who plays sports that you would read about. Throughout the book, he can be intense, and he is always angry, with good reasons. Seeing Tempany after 10 years adds fuel to his already lit fire. Ashton was mean to Tempany throughout the story, nothing hardcore or heavy but still mean at times. One of his battles, fighting his never ending attraction to her and in order to do that, he needed to be mean, and he was in serious denial. Often, I underestimate Ashton in this story, but he pulls me back in. His little stunt at the dinner table with Tempany, I. See. You . Ashton. You all, don’t sleep on him. He is sexy, with a little mean mix with sexual tension, definitely makes for a good read. Page 92, savagery. Tempany, I like her. She wasn’t weak, but she is strong enough mix with a little weak and that’s good. It gives me good interactions between her and Ashton.
CHEMISTRY: I love their physical chemistry. Won’t lie, I felt teased throughout the story, will they, won’t they. However, it was a good buildup. Ash Jnr, thank you for being the third wheel in this book, you did Ashton proud. (You’ll know what I mean if you are reading this review prior to reading the book)
SECONDARY CHARACTERS Lorena, Tempany’s best friend, I am not sure if I liked what happens to her character, get her a guy ASAP. Ava, Ashton’s sister, like her, won’t say much don’t want to give anything away. Zeke, Aston’s best friend, man whore, jerk, joker and the list goes on, take your pick, he probably fits in one of those boxes. Honestly, throughout the book, I didn’t know what to make of him or what his endgame was. I still walked away unsure but intrigued also to know what his story will be like.
Overall, a good read for me. It wasn’t hardcore dark, but it still had sensitive topics that could be triggers for some. Be prepared for Australian slangs. The author does give a glossary with slangs and their meanings, you will need it.
***I don’t equate these stories to real life. It’s about personal taste and what you would or want to tolerate with the books you read. I know we all have different opinions and preferences with what we read and hope this review was helpful.
Ash & Tem certainly gave us all the angst with their ‘will-they/won’t-they’ story. Ash walking away from his Temptress made me shout out more than once. But it all came good in the end. Now, I’ll be eagerly awaiting Zeke’s story. Thank you so much to Caz for the arc. I really enjoyed this one.
Well well Caz May, u intrigued me again... I quite enjoyed reading Loathing Temptation... Ashton and Tempany had chemistry that was off the charts and the pushing and shove of their relationship kept me wondering what was going to happen.
Hot as sin is the only way to describe this book. And I cant wait to read Zekes story..
This book is off the chain amazing. The love/hate relationship that blooms. The off limits lines that are crossed. The swoon worthy MC’s. All Of it will make you beg for more. Unable to stop reading until I finished the book, I was sad it was over but I’m glad there’s another book in this series to jump right into! If you haven’t read anything by this author you’re definitely missing out!
This was my first read by Caz May. I loved how she included a glossary for those who didn’t understand the Australia lingo because it could get confusing if you don’t read these section before reading the book. I give her credit for that because not many authors do that.
This is a like to hate to hate to love/ step-brother romance. When tempany and Ashton initial met as children both had crushes and it was so cute but both held secrets and it isn’t until tempany takes Ashton’s basketball which starts the hatred that continues to build the more the years go on.
A decade goes by and tempany returns but the feelings for the boy she left so long ago are still there but because of one act he makes her regret the day she ruined his life and unfortunately they have to live under the same room. Even though Ashton says he hates her you know and feel that it’s more then that. The denial of feelings the continues push and pull between the two keeps drawing you back. I loved the banter between best friends Ezekiel and Ash. It made me laugh a lot at how dirty and frank they were. This book gives you all the feels. It’s sweet, sizzling, cute, heartbreaking. Unexpected revelations are made which bonds them and Ashton let’s go of all the hatred, but don’t they say there is a thin line between hate and love. This book flowed beautiful which made it so easy to read without wanting to put it down. I cannot wait to read more of this series especially with that little teaser at the end of the book.
I received this as an arc to give an honest opinion.
Firstly I'd like to say well done Caz May! I enjoyed this book so much and am very appreciative of being one of the lucky ones who got first dibs of reading this book full of all the good stuff!
For those who aren't familiar with Caz May's books this is her first attempt at a bully romance. I am impressed with how it is written. With books that contain sensitive topics there are trigger warnings in this and I have to say it was written beautifully. You could really step into the character's shoes and feel all the emotions they were feeling.
Perfect recipe of drama, romance, suspense, lust, frustration, comedy...steamy moments ( I had to wipe the perspiration off my brow :P)
Loathing Temptation • Lockgrove Bay Book 1 *ARC Review* @cazmayauthor ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ This is my first read by Caz May & I read it in one sitting! All I can say is be still my heart 😍 (I messaged her & told her this while I was reading) This story is the perfect combination of sweet & sexy. The sex scenes are fire!🔥Ashton & Tempany's story is both an enemies-to-lovers and stepbrother romance. I absolutely love her writing style. It hooked me from the start & I devoured it. I would highly recommend this read & I can't wait for Book 2!
*This story does come with a trigger warning for child abuse, drugs, & alcohol*
While I usually stay away from bully romances, this one was well done. I truly enjoyed the back and forth of Ashton while he fought himself about the feeling he had for Tempany, and trying to keep old hurts there. Even if they were unfounded. Tem and Ash both go through things that change them indefinitely, but both of them work through these thing with different attitudes and mindsets. The growth that Ash has thought out this book is nice to see, and by the end he isn’t that bully, but truly loves Temany for who she is and what she represents to him. This is book 1 in the series, and there are events in this book that set up the hero and heroine for book 2. There are some language barriers in the sense that Caz May is an Aussie and uses Aussie slang in the book, but don’t worry she includes a glossary of those words for you so do not let that discourage from finishing.
I received an ARC in exchange for an honest and unbiased review.
I was lucky enough to receive an ARC of this book from the author. I really enjoyed this book! As an American reading a book full of Australian slang threw me off for awhile but it made the book more interesting! The book includes a glossary which was helpful and very interesting to read! The storyline was really good, characters were developed nicely and the steamy bits were definitely steaming! I went with 4 stars because it took just a bit too long to answer some of the questions raised at the beginning in my opinion. I found myself consistently going back to those questions and wondering if I was going to get an answer. Definitely had at least one twist I didn’t see coming, which is very unusual for me and I love it when that happens! Overall, I will be reading more this author and it was definitely worth the read!
The author reached out to me with an arc for this book (after I'd enjoyed some her others) and this is my honest opinion.
I absolutely loved this book and adored Ashton. The story is raw, full of angst and lots of funny moments and I could not put it down. I read this in a day because I had to see Ashton and Tempany get their hea. And it was so beautiful. I cried when reading this book and I never cry when reading. You need this book! And I cannot wait for Ezekiel's book. He was so funny and the most amazing friend, but he has a story to tell and I can't wait to read it. Well done, Caz on another amazing read.
I loved this book. Ashton and Tempany are so amazing and I love the back and forth of fighting their feelings but also knowing they desperately want each other. This is a bully to lovers romance and it's written beautifully. The emotional scenes are done well and the sexy scenes are hot. All in all I loved it.
I received an ARC copy of this book for an honest review.
We finished our ARC of LOATHING TEMPTATION by @cazmayauthor & loved it!!!! Ashton & Tempany will have your heart aching, melting, angry then so full (all with some great humor thrown in)!! They both face their own traumas from their childhood one that Ashton still holds temp accountable 10 years later and wants to hate her so bad for it but he just can’t resist what his heart wants 🖤 our sweet temp always had Ashton in her heart ..so she was crushed when she returned to only have him bully her 😔 but as much as Ashton pushed he was no match for his temptress!! Her pure heart broke his walls down & it was sooo sweet to read their love story unfold !! They both helped each other heal and grow🖤🖤You also get some other amazing characters that leave you wanting more soo bad 🤣 we can’t wait for more Australian slang and pure realistic love stories !!! #loathingtemptation #comingsoon #younglove
I didn't like Ashton at the start, but the change he goes through makes him grow on me. I did like Tempany, she is so sweet yet sassy. Ashton and Tempany both have scars from their childhood. They are still As someone who has been bullied in the past, I was a little tentative to start this book. I thought it would bring up old hurt. Partly it did, the way Ashton decided to make Tempany miserable made me wonder if my bully decided it like that too or did it just happen? At some point I was going through everything what happened a decade ago and told myself to stop. It happened and I became stronger out of it. Once I separated my life from the book, I really enjoyed it. Loathing Temptation is a raw story with lots of angst, but also many funny moments. Suffering from the things that happened back than, but their trauma brings them closer together to. They lean on and support each other. The sex scènes in this book will burn your reading device to ashes. Caz May has a knack for writing smut, she teases and teases till you are standing on the edge but she doesn’t let you go over. No, she takes a pause before she starts all over again. When she finally will push you over the edge, the fall is fantastic. The glossary came in handy at times, some Australian words were confusing. I enjoyed reading Loathing Temptation, it is sweet, angry, sexy and entertaining. The glossary I can't wait for the next story in the series.
I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving this honest review.
Rating: 4 ⭐⭐⭐⭐ This was my first book by Caz May, and I really enjoyed it. Also it was my first experience with the Australian slang which I found hilarious (Thank you for including the AU slang glossary). 🏀🏀🏀🏀
Ashton and Tempany have known each other since they were little, steeling moments at the basketball court together. For her it was love at first sight and it remained that way through the years, even when she moved away. To him it was at first, but then it turned into hate after she takes his ball, because of an inocent act he paid an unbelievable painful price. He vowed to not like Tem forever, and make her pay for all of it. He does do it years later when she returns back to town, and the same Highschool together. Now she is also becoming his stepsister, living under the same roof. He kinda does become a bit of a bully towards her. It's a love hate relationship! They both have suffered at the hands of those that should have loved and protected them through out their childhood. My heart broke for both of these inocent victims 😭
This book gives you all the feels it's a YA angty, bully, child abuse, but it was also funny with Ashton and Zeke (his best friend) bantering and bro-mance, romantic new young love, steamy hot sex🔥🔥, forgiveness, understanding and HEA. I really enjoyed all the secondary characters in this book. Gahhhh I can't wait to read book #2 Zeke and.......you have to read the book to find out who its with 😉!
Thank you to Caz May for providing me with an ARC, my review is given voluntarily!
Loathing Temptation is a beautifully written bully / forbidden romance story that will pull at your heart strings and tempt you to devour each and every word in one sitting as you wonder.... Will Ashton push Tempany too far? and How long will it take for these two to act on their undeniable feelings?
Ashton and Tempany's journey to a HEA is one riddled with heartbreak, bullying, angst, banter, sizzling chemistry, steam, friendships, and some serious push and pull. As I consumed this story not only did my Kindle melt from the steamy scenes but I found myself on an emotional rollercoaster. I experienced feelings of sadness, anger, frustration, shock, surprise, and true happiness as I not only had laughed at times but I finished the book with a smile on my face and a warmed heart.
Now I wait not so patiently for Book 2!!! So looking forward to more!!
This book is a perfect mix of bully, forbidden stepbrother romance and I could not put it down. These characters are raw, emotional, vulnerable and just perfect. The angst level is high in this story along with sizzling steam and chemistry. Ash hates Temp from childhood but can’t deny the sparks that fly when they are in each other’s orbit. I loved this book and give it five well deserved stars. I loved the Aussie setting and had no trouble following the story line. This is a great read!!

Teenage angst and confusion laced with super-hot sexiness! While I was totally there for the enemies-to-lovers storyline, I was troubled from the start by the flimsiness of what Ashton holds against Tempany. I understand it came from trauma, but after a few chapters, it started to feel a bit petty. It’s a great lust story though and the characters just sizzle off the pages. And I loved, loved, loved the Aussie colloquialisms. (Thanks Caz for the lexicon at the beginning, I would have been lost without it!) Go no further if you’re looking for a hot new adult romance to spice up your weekend!
Ashton & Tempany will have your heart aching, melting, and then angry at them for not getting there crap together. These two are trying to move past the horrible events from there childhood. The attraction and chemistry between these two is hot and intense. They both helped each other heal and grow and seeing there love for each other intensify was amazing to see. This was good read.

I really enjoyed Loathing Temptation this was a bully/forbidden romance! This was a different read from Caz's other reads but a good read for me! Caz had me not wanting to put this story down because I felt there was more to come and there was!!!! Wonderful characters! Loved Ashton & Tempany's story and their steamy moments! Looking forward to Zeke's story!
This story has a great plot and characters. It is not a super spicy story, but you should read through the authors trigger warnings. The main couple's relationship takes you from their enemy to lovers phase. You also see them lean on each other in the best of ways. The other relationships in the story are just as intriguing.
I love both step brother and bully romances so I was really looking forward to this.
The chemistry between Tem and Ashton is fantastic, I really enjoyed the will they-won't they aspect and waiting for Ash to smarten up and admit his feelings. I enjoyed their journey and growth as they eventually opened up.
I'm intrigued by Zeke and am really interested in his book.
This enemies to lovers makes you love to hate Ash but fall in love with this cocky yet sweet boy.
Temp was sassy yet shy and I loved that she came out of her shell.
These two together had chemistry and loads of fun banter.
I can't wait for Zeke's story he had me cacking up.
I really enjoyed this hate to love story with all the cute trimmings that Ash and Temp were. They had me smiling and laughing and of course falling in love with them.
I loved the Australian glossary for those who don't understand the Aussie lingo because it can be confusing.
Loved this book! It was a good read, gives awesome amounts of details without overloading you with info. Characters were fun to read, I liked how even towards the end of the book you were still learning new things about them.
This book hooked me from page one, and I could NOT put it down! What really drew me in was the connection between Ashton and Tempany even though they are both trying to deny it.

I enjoyed reading about the growth in this relationship. The trials, the drama and the passion. The chemistry between the H and h is incredible. There is alpt of misunderstandings and wasted time. So much has been put into the story in such a short time.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Caz has once again left me breathless with her writing I fell for Ashton almost immediately. There legwork couldn’t have been a better bookboyfriend to start the year with. I do warn the reader, this book contains some possible triggers. I didn’t care, the story was flawlessly written, the characters were 3-D and relatable, and the plot riveting. 5 beautiful stars for this beautiful story ❤️
