A crown of Shadows and Secrets is the three book in the action-suspense Shadow Walker Saga. These are all available on KU and need to be read in order.
A crown of shadow and secrets leads us into the death of hell on a rescue mission. It’s full of steam, action and sass. Remy and her reverse harem men are ready for adventure.
Can they save Remy’s best-friend and survive the bad guys? There is only one way to find out.
This does end on a cliff-hanger but the next instalment is on its way.

Holy shit! That ending!!!!

Ok this book, amaze balls. More action, the world expanded and added more diverse creatures and scenarios that are so different to what I’ve read before. New interpretations of what things are usually, and twists that will have you shocked.

The stakes were higher in this book and the excitement was real. This book was essentially split into 3 scenarios playing at once and I loved getting to see all 3 as events played out. It was great seeing what was happening with one while the others were going through their journey. Definitely made for a more suspenseful read and I enjoyed how it all played out and how it all came together at the end. Not gonna lie one moment had me screaming but I guess it just made the book all the more realistic.

The characters have gown and I love that. Remy and her guys have gelled more as a unit and I enjoy that they still take the time to be together individually as well as a whole. I also liked seeing Remy rely and let them take care of her more in this book. She’s such a strong and independent character that takes everything upon herself it was great seeing her lean on them and understand their need for it when it mattered. It was also great seeing Colt come into his own and his position. He has definitely grown from the man-child happy go lucky to the leader he’s meant to be. I feel like there was still so much to see and learn about fallon so I hope we get more in the coming books.

I’m at the edge of my seat with how this ended so I can’t wait to get stuck into the next one.

That ending, and the new questions...what is she capable of? And this shadow realm! Holy bookworms on a hook 😳
But I was reading this through an audiobook and can't find the rest in the same format.
May have to come back when I have time to physically read books
More smut, more blood, more RHs, more alphas being over protective, more betrayal, more lines crossed, and more badarse female leads, not just Remmy, but just more!

Haunted by the Past?
After what Archer has done with Fallon Remy is out for blood! Although it’s not as simple as it seems as there’s very little information on the Shadow Realm and what it entails 😳 especially as there’s veryyyy little information to be found! Remy might be the key but she hasn’t got a clue what she’s doing 😬
It doesn’t help that Archer is amping up attacks at home forcing Colt and the the remaining ‘good hunters’ to scramble 🙈
Meanwhile Fallon is having to deal with her own demons, as Remy begins to reconnect with her old life on their travels through the different rings!! I love the relationship she appears to have with Morganna and the Four Horseman, and they may be able to provide a piece of the puzzle 😄
Can they get everything together to get everyone out of the Shadow Realm?!
But oh my that cliffhanger, be prepared for the tears 😭

This was frustrating but the most interesting book so far.
First it was frustrating because Fallon was taken in the last book and Remy decides to go save her in the shadow realm. BUT SHE TAKES HER SWEET EFFIN TIME DOING IT. Fallon is kidnapped and literally being tortured and I felt no sense of urgency to get to her. They were constantly sidetracked and the amount of times they stayed in one place to "rest" was absurd.
The most interesting part of this was we got chapters from Colt and Fallon's POV. I found their story way more interesting than Remy and her men. They have their own series and I'm tempted to DNF this to pick that one up.
My biggest objection to the entire series so far is the pacing and urgency from the characters. A character will make an important discovery or find a lead but there is no urgency to follow up or get answers. Days later they will get around to it but it doesn't make sense when everything is so dire. At one point she is sent a mysterious envelope but just doesn't open it then 2 and 1/2 books later we find out it was important. WELL DUH!

So she and the guys enter the shadow realm and it turns out there are seven levels down...
She has to find Morgan and ask her to help her to find Fallon and seal the door to the realm again.
We read chapters from her brother and Fallon's pov which I might have gone without but they weren't such a big deal.
We have some juicy sexy time with all of the guys.
One thing that struck me as not the best was that instead of her asking the higher demons to move her a level to see Morgan couldn't she had asked for one of them to summon one of the guys from the apocalypse? It seemed kind of convenient that no one thought of that just so they had to trespass for weeks over the levels and all the levels had flowing hot water? I just can't imagine the plumbing situation in the underworld.

Wow!! Remy is a force to be reckoned with. Not only her but each one of her alpha mates as well. With all the craziness that is her life and the battle they have keeping her alive they manage to have lots and lots of sex. There is some very HOT sex!!
Starting the next Shadow Walker book in just a few minutes. I have not read this many books
in a while. I am so addicted to this story!

Holy hell this was a ride! I loved getting all the different POVs along the way, the steam was fantastic (as always), and the suspense at each turn had me turning pages, desperate for more!
This world is expanding, as are the threats, and that ending?! Umm here’s hoping book four gets here ASAP!

Multi POV though a majority is Remy (not the guys’ POV though). There’s a little bit of action and we get to explore a new part of the world. It was a fun time though it does end on a cliffhanger and some not great things happen throughout. There are a handful of sex scenes to break up all the stress.

Wow, this story just keeps getting better and better! I know I am going to make this series a top 10 of 2022, I can feel it 😊
In book 3 we get to experience the Shadow Realm and all that has to offer. Lots of pesky demons, tricky wording and deals, and some interesting new characters (some I know already get their own story and I am super excited to get to them once I am done this series!!). I enjoyed getting to see the different levels of this world, each focusing on the seven deadly sins. Some high level demons/leader of the levels are pretty cool, some need their booty handed to them. I enjoyed Callie (sorry if I spell any of these wrong as I listened to them all haha) and her snark but helping the group. I thought the Wrath (I think level 3?) was full of action and tension, I hope she gets some just rewards after how she treated Remy and the guys. I thought the fuzzy cat man was was funny and an added bonus haha. We finally get to meet the Queen and her 4 Horseman and I love the dynamic between their harem and then to Remy and her harem. Loved the BFFs and also the fierce loyalty and protectiveness the guys showed on both sides. We get to learn more about Remy and her powers/past lives, her friends she made in the Shadow Realm (hopefully we get to learn more in each book). The storyline was really balanced with plot progression and steam, so I loved every second of it.
We get to see what Fallon is going through (I wanted to hug her so badly!!) and what Colt is dealing with on the other side and trying to keep his family and faction together despite Archer (I cannot wait to see him go down in flames! and his and Remy's dad (hopefully he gets an attitude adjustment or is taken out because I am pretty much done with him). We get to see some new relationships develop (I hope Azriel is gone and I have high hopes for Deacon, but what will that mean for Colt hmmmm. I am also super happy to see Fallon gets her own story/book, trying hard not to jump on that one too since some of these spinoffs are on audio already 😍). The ending of this book though....I yelled while driving, happy that this series is finished but none of theater 3 of the series are on audio!! I need to know what happens next, because the things at the end of this book cannot be real/the end to some of our favorite characters, it just can't be!
The narration was good, I will say I usually like this male narrator but he was very screechy/whiney and I didnt think he needed to be. I hope he kinda mellows out in the future books. I appreciate bringing in a male narrator to offset the female voice, get them to do the chapters from the male POV. Again I liked the female narrator, no complaints or feedback from me. But the male narrator wasn't exactly who I was picturing for mostly Colt's POV. Still a 4/5 for the audio.
I cannot wait to delve into book 4 of this series, I am probably going to have to read them instead of waiting for them on audio (if they were all on audio right now I would be binge listening for a long time ❤️❤️❤️

A Crown of Shadows and Secrets is the third instalment to The Shadow Walker Saga, and the continuation of Remys long term aspiration of fighting for truth, love and a better future. The story picks up from the previous books cliff-hanger, with Fallon being kidnapped and taken to the Shadow World by Archer. Now if that wasn’t a shock to you, there is plenty of more twists and turns along the way that will leave you gobsmacked!
Remy and her harem take on a rescue mission to save her best friend quiet literally from hell, and very early on we soon realise each choice or token of gratitude in the Shadow Realm has consequences especially when it comes to Demons. However, it’s these choices that give Remy the heart and inspiration to keep fighting; for the sake of Fallons and everybody’s freedom. While Remy and Co work their way through the seven levels of sin hopes of finding Fallon, Fallon is allowing herself to be a victim of emotional and psychological torture so that she can buy herself more time to be rescued.
I throughly enjoyed reading this book as we not only got to delve into Remys past, present and future, we also got to discover every bodies secrets AND experience a narrative from another characters perspective.
However, what I would’ve liked to experience more of is the character development. Remys brand of being a reincarnated hunter has lost its appeal due to the constant repetition of this trait. What I would like to hear more of is her past life in the Shadow World and how this will impact her presently as a reincarnated Hunter on her 12th + life.
Ultimately this was a fun and deliciously entertaining read which included frank language for a mature reader. We can expect tense and sexual scenes including scenes of sexual nature. Based on my previous reading history, I personally wouldn’t rate this high on the spice score though equally do feel it warrants at least 3 🌶 and 3✨

Okay, I forgot what happened in this book. Oh wait they went down right. Oh yeahhhhh
Okay okay. Callie is a baddie. We need more of her. Luna is a bitch and I can see myself turning into her😭. Morgana🤌🤌. I NEED to read her story.
And alsoooo there's so much smut. Like damnnnn. I had to skip so much because I'm so invested in the plot but didn't wanna read the smut.
Like every other chapter has a smut scene damn. Although those scenes bring out quite quotable lines so sometimes I read the quoted parts to hear the conversation.
Also why was I hoping that Fallon would get her own little harem. She still might with Deacon and Colt👀. Wouldn't be opposed to that. Deacon is nice.
There were so many things that I guessed about the plot, so you could say it was a predictable plot but still seeing how we got there was fun.
This was my last book of 2024 unless I manage to finish one today (writing the review on 31-12-20204). I probably could have if I really wanted to but I have plans. So idk. Maybe I'll say I've been reading the next book since last year🫢😂.
Anyway imma go read the next one now.

OH WOW!

Another great installment! And I must say it was great to get inside some other characters' heads 😍
I felt connected to Colt from the start of the first book, there was just something about him that made him worm his way into my heart! And being inside his head made me love him even more 🥺😍

This installment had me gripped AGAIN, it was dark and twisty and I just loved every second of it!
The character development is on another level, Remy is struggling with figuring out who she used to be and who she is now, the memories are slowing down but they're giving her SO MUCH MORE information! 😏
As each book goes I fall more and more in love with the guys, how they're all adjusting to sharing Remy with each other, and don't even get me STARTED on the heat level 🔥🥵

This installment had me gripped AGAIN, it was dark and twisty and I just loved every second of it!
The character development is on another level, Remy is struggling with figuring out who she used to be and who she is now, the memories are slowing down but they're giving her SO MUCH MORE information! 😏
As each book goes I fall more and more in love with the guys, how they're all adjusting to sharing Remy with each other, and don't even get me STARTED on the heat level 🔥🥵

A Crown of Shadows and Secrets by Sloane Murphy is book three in the Shadow Walkers Saga. The book is not a stand-alone. The books must be read in order. The pevious books are A Crown of Blood and Bone and A Crown of Smoke and Ash.
This third installment is the continuing of Remy and her men's story. Her fight for the truth and a better future.
The book picks up where book to was left off. Remy is still on Levi's proporty when her best friend gets abducted into another relm. So she has to hurry and rescue her what opens an entirely another storyline. Now are demons involved who have their very own agenda. I started reading and all in all it was a great read, only sometime I was a bit lost.
I enjoyed reding this third book. Next up is A Crown of Thorn and Lies and I can't wait for this book.

Omg! That ending! I am still reeling from the ending of this book so I will aim to try and get my thoughts into some coherent order! This book picks up exactly where the last one left off so they must be read in order. It was full of action, I found the back and forth between the human realm and the shadow realm a bit confusing at times but it also kind of worked. We have Remy and the Gang going to try and rescue Fallon from the shadow realm whilst Remy's brothers, the hunters and the witches try to stop things happening on earth. This book was crammed full of drama, some very hot scenes and heaps upon heaps of action. I loved the world building and thought the ideas were amazingly clever, for a seasoned paranormal reader to fond something new and different is truly a magical find. So glad that I have found this series, it's becoming one of my most favourite series ever!

The ideas behind this series are cool which will be the only reason I keep reading as I want to see it all unfold; the execution hasn’t been great.
I must be in the minority that thought this book was such a quality drop, especially from the first book. I didn’t understand why Colt’s POV was written, the storyline and events were repetitive but the overall plot was so slow to unfold; literally the same conversation with every person they met in the shadow realm. I swear like a bogan but omg ‘fuck’ and ‘fucking’ we’re SO overused and I think it annoyed me most because the female narration was so bland and emotionless.
Also wtf is happening with Remy’s hunter ritual thingo?? Is that even finished or what? It’s like the original story and her memories were just forgotten for most of the book.

The characters have matured especially Colt. Taking the position of an elder has made him more responsible. You will also be introduced to a few new secondary characters and boy do they have personalities!
Remy is a strong, independent woman with a sassy mouth. She is finally beginning to realize that's it's okay for her harem of lucious men to wait on her.
Remy and her harem are still searching for her best Fallon who was kidnapped and tortured by the demons.

Narrator score🎧 ; Sarah Puckett is really my favorite famele narrator , she did an outstanding job as always. She did so many voices and she did it great.
Level of steam🔥: it is beginning so very slow
Level of anxiety and sadness0😱😢: well, you have a lot of drama. A lot of it!!! But real sadness? No. You had a lot happening, it's like the first book was slow in the but then you had so much happening that you don't really know when to land in the best way.
The book itself📖: Strangely I loved those books I had a problem with the first one it was too slow but then the story started to go out and it was written better and better and I loved it.

Keeps getting better each book!
The story is growing quickly but not…stagnant at times & a bit repetitive but those can be overlooked during the times the story DOES move along. There was a TON of new information in this new world, new characters to love (or not) and more about Mara!
Same as before, needs more proofreading as you have to stop to figure out what you missed at times or if you missed something taking you out of the story but that too was bare able.
Diving into book 4 now! As I just CANNOT wait to see what happens as this ended on THE saddest cliff hanger possible. At the beginning, reading the book description, I had an inkling of what the sadness was going to be and I HATE that I was correct. This next part will suck but the show must go on!

I first discovered Sloane Murphy in the Shadow Legacies series & I knew I had to go back and read this series. Let me tell you, that was an excellent life choice right there.
Holy moly this book is jam packed. I love all the action that you get in this book & the discoveries that we find along the way. This story has such development and I love it. I also definitely enjoyed the dynamic changes within the whole group, definitely sexy.
I cannot say enough great things about the characters that Sloane Murphy has created. They have such depth & I love the underlining theme about questioning what has been told to you from those in authority. This book is amazing & I cannot wait to see what happens next.

Wow. The five of them are a force to be reckoned with on their own but together they are just amazing. I loved how each mate accepted all the others and the steamy scenes well they are just explosive. Secrets are unearthed as to who Remy really is and its not till she gets to the shadow realm and goes through some serious trials that she meets up with some old friends or the highest order. With their help they uncover a lot but there is still danger and it is up to all of them to try and put a stop to it. this boo is packed full of secret, mystery and most of all love. I cant wait to see what is in store for them next as it ends on a massive cliffhanger...

The boys learn to share together
What a cliffhanger that was. I'm going to make this quick because I'm dying to know what happens next. But of course another amazing read. I loved the different POV in this, I hope it's the same in the next one. Remy and her band of merry men travel to the shadow realm to look for Fallon. Meanwhile Colt really steps it up as elder and takes charge, I like this new side of him. It also seems that Fallon herself has something that seems to bring all the boys to her yard lol even if some are unwanted. Get ready because the sexy scenes in this one went up a a few notches.

My heart has blossomed and grew so big for these characters and Sloane has just unceremoniously ripped it from chest. I am beyond devastated! Bring wine. Bring tissues. And prepare yourselves for the love, the friendships, and the ultimate slaying your beating heart. Remy better burn the fing world down and take no prisoners in her quest for blood and vengeance. Thats all I'm saying! Cliffhangers suck balls. Emotionally invested and unstable but wow what a epic story. Doesn't get much better than this folks. I'm going to have myself a good ugly cry before starting book 4.

Everything is so wrapped up in our FMC, her actions in all of her lives especially the first. Finally we are given big information on who she was, fighting for the greater good and having a huge role on defeating the enemy. Given no choice but to go on a quest, learning more about who she was and her friends. After the first few books focus on her lives with her men, we get a peak of who she was without them. I loved reading about the shadow realm, fighting their way through it. Gaining new memories and finding old friends, I hate that we didn’t get more flashbacks of the connections she made there. Im looking forward to what other mysteries will come to light.

Also in the real world all hell is breaking loose.
So all in all this book has so much happening that the excitement level is off the chart, it's so difficult to put down. There are also plenty of steamy scenes that will have you hot under the collar.
I love how Sloane writes her book's, she always manages to keep me gripped and wanting more.
I'd definitely recommend this series of book's 💞💞

I swear what is with everything going right for the main character? They enter the demon realm and like she literally asks all the demons if they know anything about her friend, when it was a demon who took Fallon in the first place, so why would she expect the demon's to be honest with her? Like??? Then basically every demon is nice to her and helps her out and somehow knows she used to be the shadow walker. The only reason why I will even try the 4th book, is because finally the last chapter was somewhat interesting and got my attention.

immediately didn’t appreciate clot and fallon’s povs additions. i didn’t care for them , this series about remi so give me remi. they will have their series. i skipped their povs. if this is just the way to create big trauma to develop fallon’s character then it’s bs. deacon seemed nice though sometimes.
they discovered she had this great power. and no one was curious to ask what power they all just went with their day. wtf.

We got a lot more storyline and background in this book. We are introduced to the shadow realm where demons live and how Remy actually has connections there from being a shadow walker in a previous life.
I'm intrigued by Fallons story in this and how it will play out in a sequel series to this.
We have multiple POV's with Remy, Fallon and Colt. It's nice to get to know other characters. I love a multiple POV book it keeps me intrigued.
