Kings Reapers MC #2

Capturing Cree

Rate this book
Eva
There is nothing wrong with believing in true love, right? Maybe I’m the type of woman who watches too many happily-ever-afters, but I want my prince charming. If I know one thing for sure, it’s this -- I’m not going to find him sitting around at the Kings Reapers MC’s clubhouse.

Don’t get me wrong, the men here are hotter than Hades, but they’re more like Thor. Strong, overbearing, dominant, and demanding. Just the way I like them.

There’s only one person who isn’t like the rest, their VP, Elijah Cree.

The rudest, most arrogant man I’ve met in my entire life. He’s a miserable person and on top of it, he hates me. He’s told me I can’t be around any of his brothers, bothered by the mere presence of me being here. I don’t know what this guy’s problem is, but he’d better get used to me since I’m not going anywhere. My best friend is his Prez’s ol’ lady.

Cree
There’s a reason I don’t date, and I can’t tell you the last time a woman caught my attention. That is, until Eva showed up.

From the second I saw her something inside me changed. It’s like my stone-cold heart thawed out just a little. I’ve told all my brothers she’s off limits, and since she caught wind of that she’s become a sassy little shit. She isn’t afraid of me, and her temper proves that.

Little does she know the way she acts tugs at my heart, and my lips. The woman makes me wanna smile, to let my guard down and give it a shot. I won’t, though. ‘Cause I won’t fuck up something so perfect.

After she makes it apparent she won’t be goin’ anywhere, I start to contemplating goin’ to battle with my inner demons. What harm could it do? I’ve already told the boys none of ‘em can touch her, and they’d better not. I’ll rip their fuckin’ arms off if they even try.

2.5 I’m rounding up cuz it was free ⭐’s

I had higher hopes for this one because Eva seemed way more mature/logical than the previous h, and I love a quiet tortured hero. In some ways it was better, but in others not so much, and the ending killed it for me.

We met these two in the prior book. I thought it was obvious they were digging on each other, but this starts with Eva trying hard to get into Lake’s pants while Cree is seething with jealousy. Much of the plot revolves around Cree trying to work through past traumas so he can have a normal relationship, and a mystery (from the mayor) of a possible trafficking/sex slave ring.

This one has on-page OW sex, I’ll put the deets at the end but it starts in the first chapter so it shouldn’t be a HUGE spoiler, and we learn by chapter 3 that the OW is connected to the h. I can deal with OW shenanigans but HATE when it’s not cleaned up or used only for shock which is the case here because the h hardly blinks twice and is making out with him almost immediately. UGH.

Cree is working through some things that felt like Zsadist’s “my dirty will infect you if I touch you” with Christian Greys’s roadmap to where he can be touched and his “I don’t make love, I fuck” attitude. I was enjoying his development and journey to healing, and Eva was very supportive until we get to the end then it all went out the window for a rushed ending. Double UGH.

Bottom Line- This is tough to rate, when compared to the first book the characters are much more likable, and their love is more believable… but the blasé way the author treated the ending, for me, was too much to overlook... and it was messy with plot holes. I almost 1⭐’ed it because I HATE when authors throw heavy/serious plot bombs for shock then walk away without giving it the development it deserves. It’s why I stopped reading Hayley Faiman.

So… I’m stopping here because I’m sensing a theme and know that I’ll grow tired of it... and I think the OW is going to pop back up to cause trouble. I’ve also read the first chapter sneak peek of the next book (Chains) and that H runs off to boink one of the h’s friends (despite her asking him not to) then the next scene he’s thinking about how much he loves her.🙄🙄 And reviews sounds like clubgirl Raven is going to become a problem and shake the believability of other couples HEA… and she gets her own book… I’m not interested in that.

If I’ve hated the first book in a series, I usually give the second book a chance because both storylines can’t be THAT bad, can they?

Wrong. Yes they can.
Super unlikable characters, and I hate how a biker romance always has to have the hero sticking his dick everywhere. Guess what. He can be a badass and still not be a man slut and the book would still be enjoyable.

This author and her style of romance isn’t for my tastes.

3 ⭐⭐⭐ - OK, or decent reads
==========================
“You want to kiss me?” he asks, and I nod slowly. He smirks and steps back, releasing me. I miss the heat of his body straight away. “I just watched you stick your tongue down Lake’s throat and now you want me? Fuck, Eva. Get some class.”

Sex OW Having Eva pressed up against me like that got me thinking all kinds of things. I start my bike and head in the direction of Shelly's house. It’s a risk, but I need to release this tension, and she’s just as fucked up as I am.

Sex OW I push my hand into her silk nightdress and grope her breasts. “Callum could have been here,” she adds.
“He isn’t though, so shut the fuck up and stop pretending you ain’t turned on,” I hiss.

Sex OW I remove the condom into tissue and shove it in my back pocket. I can’t risk Shelly's husband finding out. It’s a complication I don’t need. She straightens her nightdress, but there’s no disguising that just fucked look. “Callum's not home this evening. You could stay,” she says with hope in her voice. I shake my head and move for the door. Our arrangement works for us both and I’m not about to change anything by spending the night with her.

Anna is always taking the piss outta me. She calls me a hopeless romantic because I believe there’s someone out there for everyone.

“I fuck what I want. Sometimes I visit the same woman, but if she’s not around, then whoever.”
“Okay,” she says slowly. “Let’s concentrate on the woman you see most of the time. When you see her, do you stay the night together?” I shake my head. “Why?” she asks.
“Because her husband wouldn’t approve.” I sigh.
“Married. Interesting.”

“You still fucking that rich bitch?” asks Riggs. I lower the bar to my chest and growl as I push it back up to the bars.
“Why?”
“Her old man called. He needs security again for an event. He requested you, but if you’re still fucking his wife, I thought it’d be best to send Chains,” says Riggs.
“No, I’m good to do it,” I say as I begin another set.

Riggs glares at me. “Fuck’s sake, brother, why you gotta live on the edge all the time?”
“She likes the same shit as me. It’s addictive.” Shelly likes dangerous sex—indoors, outdoors, any way I want it. “And she doesn’t want anything from me. It’s not complicated.”

I cover my mouth to hide my sniggering. This could be my big chance to discover who Michelle is having sex with. I press myself against the wall and carefully step closer, then take a deep breath and peer around the wall. Nothing could have prepared me for the sight of Michelle standing with her hands pressed against the wall, her dress around her waist, and her legs splayed open. Behind her, fucking her fast and hard, is Cree.
My mouth falls open in shock and I steady myself against the wall.

“You didn’t say you worked for NewVision,” he grits out.
“You didn’t tell me you were fucking my boss,” I almost screech. “She’s married!”
“You saw,” he mutters, looking pained.
“Yes, I saw,” I growl through gritted teeth. “She has children.”
“That’s her problem, not mine,” he says.

I feel the moment her hands begin to move from her sides and up towards my chest. I catch them before they make contact and I break the kiss. She looks to where I hold her and frowns. “Now, stay the hell away from me and my brothers,” I hiss, then I drop her hands and stalk away.

“She caught me fucking Callum’s wife.”
Chains laughs hard. “Shit. What did she say?”
“That it leaves Lake open for her because apparently that’s how it works?”

“Do you honestly . . . ” I whisper, brushing my lips lightly over his. “Think that . . . ” I run my tongue over his lips and he hisses. “I would fuck you after I witnessed you fucking my boss?” It takes a second for my words to hit his sex-fogged brain, but the moment it does, he releases me. “Now, get the hell out of here,” I snap.

He feels around for my breasts and pulls my bra down. I shudder when he gropes at me and I press myself further into the couch to avoid his wandering hands. Something doesn’t feel right. This isn’t how I imagined sex between me and Cree.

She nods her head. “You’d better get out of here,” she says quietly.
“I had?” I ask, hardly believing my luck. No chat, no dissection of feelings, or going over what happened?
Eva dries her hands and turns to me. “Yeah. What just happened can’t happen again. I’m really sorry, Cree. I should never have let it happen in the first place.”

“Let’s stay out of each other's way from now on. No more turning up here. No more bringing me lunch. You got it out of your system, leave it there.”
“Got what out of my system?” I snap.

Thinking about Cree and Michelle makes me shudder. Why did I let him have sex with me after what I saw him doing to her?

I head down to the kitchen, and I gasp when I see that Cree is practically hunched over Becky, one of the club whores. She’s giggling as Cree holds her arms above her head, his mouth level to her ear. I didn’t think my heart could hurt any worse, but seeing him like this slays me. He glances at me, and for a second, I see guilt, but it’s quickly replaced by a stony glare. “Can I help you?” he snaps.

I take a deep breath and steady my voice. Emily is more important right now. “I got some messages,” I mutter, moving my eyes away from the way his body is pressed against hers.

How do I ask if he’s okay? He was forced to have sex with a woman when he didn’t want to, and he’s not exactly the talkative type, but I know deep down it must have brought back some bad memories for him, not that he’ll ever admit it.

I turn the light on and it’s bright enough to cause them both to cover their eyes and groan in protest. “What the fuck are you doing?” I yell, and Cree sits up, his face full of shock and confusion. “You said you loved me!”
He blinks a few times and then looks to the woman beside him. It’s now I notice she’s one of the club whores who hang around here hoping to become an ol’ lady. I glare at Cree, waiting for an explanation. He lifts the covers slightly and sighs. “We didn’t fuck. I have clothes on.”
“You passed out,” she says, rolling her eyes.

“Get the fuck out of his bed!” I yell, and she huffs before stomping out of the room. “All the fuss you made about lies and here you are in bed with a club whore. You cheating piece of shit!” I hiss. “This is too much. You’ve done too much!” I turn and rush back to my room. The tears roll down my cheeks and I refuse to let him see.

I don’t know why I grabbed that random girl by the hand as we were leaving the bar. It’s not like I'd spent the night grafting her. I just saw her, took her hand, and insisted she come back with me. I’m the VP, so she wasn’t gonna be asked twice. Fuck, fuck, fuck! Stupid fuck!

I suck in a breath. “That wasn’t cheating,” I say. “That was ra—”
Cree moves so fast towards me that I flinch away. “Don’t finish that fuckin’ word!” he shouts.

“I have some exciting news,” says Anna, smiling in Riggs’ direction. He looks confused. Everyone’s attention is on the pair. “I’m pregnant!” she announces happily. Riggs' face goes through a range of emotions. Anna is swept up in hugs from ol’ ladies, but all I see is Riggs looking shocked and frozen. Eventually, Anna realises he isn’t jumping for joy, but before she can get to him, he goes into the clubhouse. She looks at me panicked, so I head inside after him.

“We talked about it,” he mutters. “We agreed to wait.”
The office door opens and Anna stomps in. “What the hell?”
“We agreed to wait,” he snaps. “I told you to wait.”
“I didn’t do it on purpose, Riggs. I think my contraception pill didn’t work when I was sick.”
“Likely,” he utters dismissively.
“I should leave you guys—” I begin.
“Are you calling me a liar!” yells Anna.
“I’m saying that one minute I’m telling you no, and the next, you’re pregnant,” shouts Riggs.
“Fuck you,” she hisses and then storms from the room.

“I told him I’d leave and he shrugged, said I should do whatever I wanted to. I’m so angry that he’d treat me like this. He was so cold and distant. Any man who thinks I’d do that on purpose doesn’t deserve me.”

If Nicola Jane writes it, I will read it. I love that her characters are broken and flawed and real. Her books are not for the faint of heart but they are so, so good!
Eva is a hopeless romantic and believes in true love. Cree is a damaged man who wants to love and be loved but has no idea how. He makes some pretty stupid decisions that make me want to slap him, but of course he redeems himself. Eva’s naivety made me want to shake her, but her characters growth is part of the story.
As always there are lots of twists and turns to the story that keep you completely engaged and surprised.

Not let me tell you I could've slapped these two. Chains constantly running instead of standing up for what he wanted. I really wasn't happy with the way Cree handle things either and Riggs wasn't as hard on him.

At least there's some happiness that comes out of everything. Now who will Blu end up eith?

I can't even begin to tell you how much I loved this book, 5 stars doesn't really do it justice. I didn't think 'riggs' couldn't be beaten but ' Cree' shoved his pres aside. I read it in one hit, I had to know what was going on and how each bit character connected the main players of Cree and Eva. I love the banter between them and as I felt with the last book bonus points for being English and set in my home town of london but that's nothing to do with the story just me always wanted more uk based books.

This is the first book that I have read by Nicola Jane and it won’t be the last. I now need to go back and read book one and I am eagerly waiting for the next book. At first, I was confused because I hadn’t read the first book so I definitely recommend reading Rigg’s book. Cree is the VP of the King’s Reaper and he is a man defined by his past. Reading his backstory just broke my heart. Eva, is friends with Presidents wife and has been staying at the club due to things that happened In the first book. Cree wants her, but his past is keeping him from going after her but he has warned everyone not to go after her. Eva is looking for forever and wants Cree but thinks he hates her. The two cross paths when they realize they have mutual acquaintances. I’ll be honest, there were a few times that I thought Cree was a real jerk. Eventually things heat up between them and so does some danger. This story grabbed me and never let go. I need the third book not only For the character Chains, but I have to find out what happens to some of the secondary characters. This was a great book and now I have to go back and get book 1!

This is the 2nd book in this amazing series and is Cree and Eva’s story. Cree is the VP of the Kings Reapers, and Eva is the best friends of the Prez’s ol’ lady, who has been staying at the clubhouse. Eva is a sassy and feisty little firecracker who knows what she wants and that is Cree, who is arrogant, rude, crude, and a sexy alpha, who is a broken man who has certainly makes some questionable decisions along the way, and he has warned all of the brothers that she is off-limits. From the moment these two met there has been intense chemistry between them, and she is the light to his darkness, and makes him want to love and be loved in return, but he has no clue how to. Can Eva melt the ice around Cree’s heart, and get him to take a chance on them? This is a well written story which is filled with emotion, twists, danger, suspense, witty banter, love and is a steamy and all-consuming addictive page turner. I was hooked and intrigued throughout and look forward to reading more from this talented author whose work I recommend for all MC lovers.

Pretty good read with a few issues

This couple was kind of toxic until they met people even more toxic and dangerous then they were . There were a couple of things that I didn’t like about this story. It was a good story and for that reason alone I gave it 4 stars . The heroine was really stupid but I guess that’s what you need to make the hero look good .

This book will test your ability to not throw your kindle against the wall. I swear I wanted to punch Cree about 50 times through this entire book. He does a serious number on Eva. To tell you the truth I would have dropped him long before they got their happy ending. Eva is a strong women to put up with everything she does. Don’t get me wrong I truly loved this book but it’s definitely not an easy read. And I still can’t wait for the next book!

I actually had to read this book twice it was that good. I have never read an MC book were the Alpha male had gone through what Cree went threw at a young age, then assaulted again as an adult male. I cried for him. He couldn’t even handle human touch, until Eve showed him love. Wow, this book was powerful and full of emotions with Cree..He felt so underserving, but wanted to know how to feel emotions and being vulnerable. I loved the way he ask Eve to show him. This book definitely will touch your heart. The storyline is well written and worth reading.

This had the potential to be great, however the plot became clouded with yet another immature female who puts herself at risk without thought. I can't believe that Eva could be so wreckless whilst also letting Cree treat her so badly. Cree has had a traumatic past so I suppose we should cut him some slack, I cannot however imagine a woman putting up with some of the violent and at times abusive behaviour. Yet again we find ourselves mired down with our main hero balls deep in another woman. To top it off Riggs and Anna are once again behaving like a couple of school kids.
The original idea with Cree could have been developed into an interesting and involved plot, sadly it missed the mark and the characters did not make much impact.

After reading the first book I was left interested in reading the story for these 2. I really struggled from the start...it just seemed to be a completely different style to me, like it wasn’t the same series. I mean no disrespect to the Author but these two characters turned out to be completely unlikable for me, very immature people. I ended up not being able to finish this one but I will give the next book a try since I saw such potential for this series with the first one.

This book was so heartbreakingly beautiful. All the heartache that Cree went through as a kid tore at my heartstrings. And the drama, and twisted danger both Cree and Eva experienced was out right nuts. Nicola is a new author to me and I am in love!! Looking forward to more books by Nicola.

4 1/2 stars! Dark themes w heartbreaking past

While this could be read as a stand-alone, I do NOT consider it to be one. It is part of a series that contains multiple reoccurring characters, details that cannot be adequately recapped within the scope of another story that contributes to the story universe / world building, overlapping / concurrent timelines and overarching themes.

** There are numerous scenes that may trigger sensitive readers. Examples for this story and the series as a whole, are included below **

⛔️ The series contains references to, or scenes detailing, subject matter that may be a trigger or offensive to some, including: adult language; derogatory terms; mental health challenges; steamy adult intimate scenes with dominance, submission, spanking for pleasure and punishment, restraints, “bottom” play, breath play, sensory deprivation, voyeurism, exhibitionism, etc.; violence such as kidnapping, abduction, murder, death, torture, assault, fighting, betrayal, coercion, blackmail, threats, subterfuge, money laundering, gun running, cheating, prostitution, human trafficking, mafia / cartels, arson, drug use, drug addiction, drug manufacturing, drug distribution, as well as the mental, physical and sexual abuse of females and/or children, etc.

** Caution: Contains scenes with reference to, or detailed graphic violence against females and children that fit into the storyline, but may be a trigger for some **

There are very few grammatical issues primarily comprised of incorrect word choice and tense, punctuation errors, missed words and extra inserted words. I am mentioning these for readers such as myself that visualize the story as it is read, because errors interrupt the flow.

Normally I include an overview of how the story begins, but the EDITED BLURB from Nicola Jane does a great job:

EVALYN, aka EVA: There is nothing wrong with believing in true love, right? Maybe I’m the type of woman who watches too many happily-ever-afters, but I want my prince charming. If I know one thing for sure, it’s this -- I’m not going to find him sitting around at the Kings Reapers MC’s clubhouse.

****Spoilers Ahead****

If you like MC romances, you have to give this romance a try. It has an engaging plot, multi-layered characters and plenty of twists and turns to keep you guessing! I stayed up all night reading this one!

I enjoyed Cree and Eva's journey. I especially enjoyed the growth both characters experienced in this story, particularly Cree's. He opened himself up to Eva, which resulted in some beautifully vulnerable scenes. My favorite scene of the book is when Cree asks Eva to tie him up and show him how she likes to have sex. It shows the depth of his love for her and the trust he has in her, despite his aversion to being touched. He gives up control and faces his anxiety. It's beautiful.

There are several times in the book that Eva angered me with her ignorant decisions. I liked the fact Eva was sassy and independent, but I didn't like how naive she was about Calleum. She didn't listen to Cree about not going to the sex club and then she didn't tell anyone about the threatening texts she received from Calleum even though she was staying with the MC for protection.

When you and your mother need to LIVE with a MC for protection from a threat, it would make sense that if you received threatening communication FROM the individual you are being protected FROM, you would take it seriously and let someone know.

I'll be honest. That scene alone almost made me throw the book down and write this story off. I found it so ignorant, I almost couldn't root for the character anymore. She said she didn't think it was serious. She had already said numerous things previously about the situation not being that serious, however, she was repeatedly educated that the situation, was, in fact, serious. Her behavior was inexcusable.

With that being said, Cree stayed away from Eva at the beginning because he felt like she was too good for a MC member. He was drawn to her and part of what makes her her is her unfamiliarity with the dangers of the world. While it annoyed me immensely, it IS an aspect of her character that makes sense given the details we know about her.

Overall, this story is a 5 out of 5 stars experience. Well written. Great story. Loads of sexual tension. Fascinating character growth. Action and suspense keeps you guessing.

I'm looking forward to the next book in the series!

You don’t need to read the first book to enjoy this one, but my understanding is that the MC’s in this were introduced in the first book (Riggs Ruin)
Elijah Cree is VP (Vice Resident) in the MC (Motorcycle Club) King’s Reapers. And man, is he an a$$!! An arrogant, mean, crude a$$! And to be honest, I almost gave up reading the book, now don’t get me wrong, I’ve read quite a few MC books, and they can come across as crude and brash, but when he has an itch, he takes it to his current woman, if she’s married or single he doesn’t care, what he wants he takes (but always with consent)
But, and I can’t stress this enough ...... please read till the end, you’ll be glad you did.
Eva is a PA to a high flying woman, her husband is a creep, but Ava likes the job, so she wants to succeed. She’s a firecracker, a woman who knows what she wants out of life, and she wants Cree (and seriously I don’t know why half the time!)
The emotions in this book had me wanting to punch Cree half the time. He’s told the brothers in his gang that Ava is off limits, but is that because he wants her himself?! He thinks she’s too good for the likes of him, but he can’t stand to see her with anyone else, that includes the man she tries to date after Cree tells her to stop flirting with his brothers and to leave him the hell alone!! Talk about mixed messages!
Further into the book, Ava finds out why Cree acts the way he does, and it’s dark, it’s a path he should never have travelled, but he did and now if he wants to have Ava, then he needs to do something about it.
And when he dies, the change is dramatic, but so is his emotions, a d when Ava let’s him down, he deals with it his own bullish way!! Be prepared to swear at your kindle, be warned you’ll need tissues and wine (and possibly chocolate) the highs will have you smiling and cheering, and the lows, well let’s just say I sobbed like a big girl!!
The action is fast paced, the sex scenes are raw and in wincingly brutal sometimes. This is a dark book, and there are lines both players have to cross to help one another.
I’ve also noticed a lot of authors are leaving playlist in their books. So I found the music and played whilst listening. I found some of the music suited the book, and others I wondered why, but it’s a nice touch and gives you a small insight into the workings of the authors mind.

This Mc story was amazing from beginning to end and I found it difficult to put the book down. I loved how both characters interacted with each other and it made me want to slap either character in certain parts and I like how we got to see the backstory for Cree. Nicola Jane has yet again written another epic story and I can't wait to read the next book.

Whenever I start book two in a series where I’ve loved book one, I’m always dubious. Is it going to live up to how much I freaking loved book one? Sometimes no. Sometimes yes. Sometimes it’s smashed out the park. Capturing Cree was definitely the latter. Simply incredible, every last letter was executed perfectly. And yep, you guessed it, I finished this bay boy in a day. Like less than 12 hours.

Eva is a sparkly little unicorn of happiness, she brightens everyone’s day and sees the best in every shitty fucked up situation. She’s a hopeless romantic with a heart of pure gold. Where as on the surface Cree couldn’t be more different. Grumpy. Growling. Arrogant. Quiet. Overbearing. Demanding. You name it, Cree is it. But there’s so much more to what meets the eye with Cree. When I caught glimpses of Cree in book one I thought; there’s not a chance in hell I’ll be able to connect with him. He’s not my usual vibe with being quiet, but obviously Nicola Jane typed absolute magic in Capturing Cree.

Eva gets sucked into the MC world by her best friend Anna (from book one). As I’ve said previously Eva is the hopeless romantic who wants nothing more than her Prince Charming to sweep her off her feet. Insert Prince Charming here, just kidding, life’s never that simple. When Eva catches the attention of Cree, the Kings Reapers VP, it changes everything. There are secrets to unfold, challenges to overcome but that’s just real life isn’t it?

Capturing Cree was different from Riggs’ Ruin, which was refreshing for the different books within an MC series, usually they’re very same-y. I don’t mean this in a bad way at all though, I loved how it hit me differently but still made me feel everything. My heart broke. My stomach fell through my ass. I got angry. I got sad. I got pissed. I was happy. Everything, I feel a little exhausted after reading it, but that’s exactly what I love about this story. I love this world, it’s amazing.

Another wonderful addition to this Gritty Kings Reapers Series
Eva has believed that Cree hates her constant chatter, hates her laughter, bright personality and her general noisy lust for life and she has no idea why and yet he never seems to take his eyes off her whenever she is around the club and he has warned all of his brother to stay away.
Cree believes he is not good enough for the beautiful ray of sunlight that come into his life every day at the clubhouse, she is like a ray of sunshine and he knows that she is attracted to him but he believes that if he touches her, he will sully her with is dirty past.
Eva knows there is more to Cree that meets the eye and as he starts to open up to her and she learns a little more of his story, his absolute hate at being touched by anyone it is all to do with him raising himself when his mother died, he continued to live alone in his mother flat paying his rent by selling drugs and sex with bored housewives. Unfortunately for him he always appeared older than he actually was and his moms’ old pimp had used this selling point.
Eva has been working at a firm Cree works private security on for both the husband and wife and both are entitled, odious and when it becomes apparent that she and Cree have been seeing each other they become the target of the couple will do anything and everything to get what they want and hurt whoever it takes.
This is a dramatic read and it is fair to say that once you begin reading you are unable to put the book down, you jus have to see what the outcome will be for this couple, will Eva find her happiness and the love of her life?
You will have to read this very dramatic read and discover for yourself, I cannot wait for the next book in this series,
I voluntarily received and review an Advanced Reader Copy
I thoroughly enjoyed the book and look forward to reading any future publications; keep up all the great writing.

I received an ARC from BookSprout and I'm leaving my review voluntarily. This is book 2 in a MC series set in England. Reading book 1 isn't necessary but characters from that story appear in this book.

Triggers: cheating, flashback/talk of child sex trafficking, sexual assault, kidnapping, forced drugging

**spoilers**
Eva is friends with Anna, who is with the President of the Kings Reaper MC. She dreams of meeting Prince Charming and living happily ever after. While at the MC clubhouse, she met Cree and was attracted to him. To get his attention, she flirts with any and all men. This only causes Cree to warn others off while not claiming her himself.

Cree, VP of the Kings Reapers MC. Raised by a drug addicted mom who died early, he was taken in by his moms pimp and was a victim of sex trafficking from age 13 until 16. This contributed to his not wanting a relationship and to only have emotionless encounters. He is attracted to Eva but with his past, he thinks he does not deserve her.

Alot of drama, action, sexy time then bam HEA.

Fiesty, strong women are good to read in a story with strong, opiniated men to balance things out. Eva is immature. Even though Cree is not pursuing her, she is continually playing silly games to get his attention like some teenage girl. When Cree asks her to stay out of a dangerous situation, she ignores him, putting herself and others in danger. Self centered, whiney, TSTL. Too bad Cree didn't find an actual mature woman to be with.

Cree could be a jerk, over bearing, even confusing but given his background it was understandable. Even not knowing his back story, he and Eva were not a couple so her claiming hurt feelings was silly. Maybe in future books, Eva (and Anna) will grow up.

What an emotional, powerful thrilling story about Cree and Eva that will have you on edge right from the first chapter. Capturing Cree (Kings Reapers MC by Nicola Jane will take you on an emotional journey as you are immersed into the gritty world of these sexy hard edgy bikers and the women who come into their lives. Cree VP of the Kings Reapers MC is raw, brash and edgy and sexy as hell. Cree has always wanted Eva who is under the clubs protection, but feels with what he had to do to survive when he was a young boy he will never be good enough for her so he pushes her away. Cree feels he is damaged, but he has a heart of gold especially when young women are being abused and taken by men against their will. Eva loves romance and is looking for her prince, but with Cree fighting his brothers if they approach her, she feels now is the time for her to leave and return to work as a PA as she is trying to move on but Cree is always getting in the way. Now to deal with his past and anger issues he is told he needs to see a therapist. While in therapy he opens up about his past, his inability to be touched and that he needs sex in order for him to sleep. As part of his therapy he is told that he needs to learn to be able to talk to a woman one on one and form a normal relationship without sex. Never having a relationship with a woman, he doesn't know what love is. The only person that comes to mind to help him is Eva. Now with Eva's help Cree is about to finally have someone touch him which allows him to sleep for the first time as little by little he is opening his heart and finally showing Eva how much he loves her. Once Eva gives Cree her heart, can she trust him enough or will jealousy get in the way?

When Cree is told by Riggs who is the President of the Kings Reapers MC that he needs to continue to do security work for Callum a millionaire who is under investigation by the Mayor who is also Michelle's husband and Eva's boss. The Mayor wants the club to investigate as young women are going missing and being sold as slaves at an underground BDSM exclusive club owned by Callum. As these two get close things will take a turn as Eva will be hurt when she finds out the truth about Cree and Michelle. Eva is being harrassed by Callum who wants to take her to his sex club as he has plans for her. Once Eva tells Cree everything, she finds that she wants to help the club take Callum down, will she end up putting herself in danger? Little does Eva know that forces are plotting to not only harm her but Cree and his club by someone that both thought they were helping. Will Cree end up saving Eva or will his life be on the line? This story had so many twists and turns leading up to an ending that is full of angst, danger, drama and passion. Nicola Jane, you have once again taken your readers on one wild, raw ride with Capturing Cree! Can't wait for Wrapped in Chains!

Capturing Cree is the second book in the King Reapers MC. Whenever Cree and Eva meet sparks fly. Cree feels Eva is better off without and too good for any of the King Reapers MC members. Actually, he just knows he wants her but refuses to try with Eva and it doesn’t help that he can’t talk and only use one or two words when face to face with her. He may not want her (denies wanting her) but he knows he can’t watch any of his brothers touch her. As you can imagine Cree and Eva has a long way to go before they actually form anything that even looks like a relationship. Ok, I have already said too much. I am hoping that I didn’t give anything away as most of what I did reveal is part of the description and blurb on the book Capturing Cree. I will say that I really enjoyed what happens between Eva and Cree while they try for their HEA ending. Capturing Cree has lots of twist and turns and some things are not what they seem. There is a lot more to Cree than most people know. I read a few of the negative reviews and I disagree with there interpretation. I guess that people will always interpret things differently. For me, I think that J.D. did a great job in having a difficult topic as part of the story and show some differing viewpoints. I am glad I read Capturing Cree and would recommend it to people who do have an open mind and likes dark romances.

Capturing Cree was just as awesome as I had hoped! After meeting him and Eva in Riggs and Anna's book, I knew there would be fireworks between them. This was beyond fireworks, it was like a batch of C4 went off and set the surrounding buildings on fire. Cree's past is as heavy as I imagined, that is why he is so drawn to Eva. Her optimism, her sunny personality is a craving he doesn't know what to do with. I adored them, they are so perfectly imperfect together. Painfully real, flaws and all is what makes this story so good. This book kept me guessing. I never knew quite how things were going to play out, though I did want to smack some sense into them a few times. This isn't a book for the faint of heart, its a gritty MC story that doesn't pull any punches, so fair warning. The ending was super satisfying except for one thing. There were a few questions I had at the end, a few very minor details that were left dangling just a little bit. I don't know if that was by design, to come up in the next book or if I just overthink. That said they aren't huge nor are they cliff hangers, if you aren't a fan of either. I cannot wait to see where the Kings Reapers are going to take us next but I am so here for it! 5 stars for Cree and Eva!

Book 2 in the Kings Reapers MC series. The first thing Cree did when he saw Eva was to warn his brothers away, he had never felt this way before about a woman and really didnt even know what it was that he truly felt. Eva believes in romance and that everyone has their prince charming somewhere you would think after staying at the Kings Reapers club house surrounded by hot burley men one might be him but since Cree told them to stay away theres no chance in sight. After being at the club house for protection, Eva's back at her PA job with her boss Michelle, who she discovers is having an affair with non other than Cree, who works security for her millionaire husband, who has his own secrets to hide, that soon concern Eva and the MC. Cree knows he cant be the man of Eva's dreams but he cant stand the thought of it being someone else. Will he open up and let Eva in can he be her Prince Charming in a bikers cut. A well written biker romance with a great story line that well played out. With action, twists, desire, suspense, rance hot scenes and more! A great addition to the series!

This is the second book in the King's Reapers MC series. In book one when Cree and Eva meet the first thing Cree does is warm his brothers not to touch or go near her. He is confused about his feelings as he has never felt this way about a woman before and Eva is led to believe that he dislikes her. Cue to this book

Cree is the VP of the club and we learn about his past, He has suffered slot of abuse since he was 13 and he is a broken man. Cree doesn't think he is good enough for Eva, however once he lets his guard down Eva allows him to be himself and shows him that he can heal and lead a different kind of life he has always thought he deserved.

Usually in an MC romance we see the Alpha male rescue the female so I applaud Nicola Jane for going against the grain and having the brother as the broken one. This story was well written with lots of action, steamy love scenes, suspense, danger and a HEA. I don't often give 5 stars for a biker romance, however this story was different and I couldn't help but feel Cree's pain and hurt and was cheering for him from the moment we started to learn about his back story.

Oh, the heat is HOT, and the physical chemistry is captivating so be careful you may just get burned all the heat coming off these pages. There were some "oh no" "oh wow" " what the what" moments and add in uncanny mishaps, mayhem, ups, downs, drama, intrigue, suspense, and secrets. This story took me by surprise it isn’t what I expected but in a good way …a very good way Cree is battling ghost from his past and Eva is like a bright shinning light into his darkness. He is drawn to her like a month to a flame her personality and optimism breaks through all the darkness of his past in dealing with sexual child abuse but somehow she allows him to forgive himself even though like any abuse he wasn’t to blame and she allows him to see and forgive and get through but not with all the bumps in the road they will have to overcome. I think the most important lesson I took from this is family is who love you despite your short comings and love you just for being you but family isn’t always blood it is who you choose to love and be loved by in return so can these two find their path to happiness?

5 heartbreaking stars for Cree's suffering.
4-4.5 overall stars for the story.

My mind is still blown by the HEAVY topic in this story. A couple of scenes were too much for me but I kept reading because Ms. Jane writes a gritty, captivating story. But it's NOT a safe read: OW drama and sexual abuse. You've been warned.

We met Cree and Eva in book one. He practically claims her on the spot even though he pushes her away. So when OW drama appears, it twisted me up inside because we know how much he likes Eva. Once we learn more about Cree, his behavior makes sense. Holy smokes did I have an enormous amount of compassion for him. And I loved how gentle Eva was with him when she finally knew about his past.

Cree and Eva's HEA was a battle to the end. The End. And there wasn't an epilogue to give me all the swoony feelings I adore when reading a romance book. I was so disappointed after everything I went through with this couple.

This is a fast-paced story. It was a little jarring for me at times. But I really like the secondary characters and unexpected twists so I'll move on to Chains story.

*Contains Spoilers*

Sooo does the author like/hate the name Michelle or something? First Riggs baby mama’s name is Michelle and now Eva’s dragon boss’s name is Michelle… lmao did a Michelle do the author wrong or something?

I don’t know how I feel about Cree sleeping with a married woman especially when she turns out to be Eva’s boss. And especially when he kisses Eva after fucking her boss seconds before she caught them. Lmao I know they’re not together but it just irks me to see the main characters fuck/kiss someone else and tries to do the same to the main characters right after. That doesn’t sit right with me.

But besides that and besides the fighting, I did enjoy Cree’s and Eva’s relationship when it was good. It was a nice to see Cree be so… innocent to love and affection and trying to be normal by just simply spending the day with Eva.

I still don’t like Riggs. I didn’t really see a problem with Anna wanting kids, I also didn’t see it as a way of her trying to trap Riggs. I mean I understand “waiting” but… idk… like he talked about her trapping him like he didn’t already make her his ol’ lady or that he wasn’t going to spend forever with her.
