DI Sara Ramsey and her team are called upon to investigate a spree of abductions and murders. This is a smart killer .., he leaves no clues, no DNA, no motive. The only thing linking the victims is something that happened several years earlier.

The killer has become the ultimate hunter. He finds his victims, takes them deep in the woods, then lets them loose ... with him following with a rifle. The men are found with multiple gun shots and are found where they lay.

It's a complex case and Sara's usual common sense, patience, gut feelings are all skewed. Her wedding is fast approaching ... and a family member loses their life, causing Sara to wrestle with feelings of guilt.

As all the books in this series, this one is well-written with deftly drawn characters swirling amid unrelenting suspense. Although 9th in the series, this is easily read as a stand alone.

Many thanks to the author for the digital copy of this crime fiction. Read and reviewed voluntarily, opinions expressed here are unbiased and entirely my own.

Try to breathe during this one! In Run For Your Life, Book 9 of this fabulous series, DI Sara Ramsey and her team have to deal with a spree of vicious kidnappings and killings, possibly linked to an event of five years earlier. The killer has left no DNA or clues, just a series of men murdered with escalating violence. This is the puzzle facing Sara, in addition to the stress of putting the final touches to her forthcoming wedding to Mark, her longtime boyfriend, amid the intrusions of her future mother-in-law. Sara’s partner is also having serious personal problems, and to top it off, deeply upsetting news comes to Sara about her older brother. In a sense, the real battle in this story is the collision between Sara’s work and her personal life.

This thriller is fast paced, with no lulls and grisly murder scenes. It is not for the squeamish, but the action is so fast that you are pulled on. It’s an excellent story, with whiplash twists and turns and everything you’d want in a thriller. Another brilliant addition to a really fabulous series. Five stars!

Well I have two questions for you all...

1) How on earth are we on book 9 of this fabulous series already, when it feels like only yesterday that we were first meeting DI Sara Ramsey and her team?

2) Just how does M. A. Comley do it, and write wonderful book, after wonderful book which all feel different have such a wide range of horrific crimes and ways of murdering people. This is one phenomenal author and if you haven't discovered her yet, and if you happen to be partial to a police procedural then go buy some now!!

I was hooked from page one, sickened by the first murder, sickened further from a post mortem that Sara and Carla attended for a change, saddened at something that happens in Sara's personal life, and ultimately felt no sympathy at all for the victims.

It worries me marginally at what horrible things must be lurking in the authors mind the whole time to be able to craft a book such as this. The murderer is horrible and has left pretty much no clues for the police to work with.

It is amazing to see the team work on this case, and how they go about trying to solve something with very little to go on.

If I haven't already mentioned it, I love this author, I love this series and Run For Your Life is one of the best in the series i believe.

Thank you to the author for this copy which I have reviewed honestly and voluntarily.

Wow, what a thrilling read of a ride this was!

Yet again the author delivers a hard hitting story line that not only shocked and horrified me but pulled on my emotions. I don’t want to go to much into the why’s for the emotion side of things but in a couple of places I felt myself tear up at what I was reading and how events were affecting some of the characters. It really made for a tension fuelled read.

How the killer kills their victims makes for some pretty gruesome reading. In fact the title couldn’t be anymore fitting for these particular murders. It made for some uncomfortable reading that’s for sure. In fact as the reason for the murders starts to unfold, it will have you arguing in your head between right and wrong. Even poor Sara is caught between the devil and the deep blue sea at times with how she deals with certain truths.

Run For Your Life is a story that packs more than a punch and had me go through a roller coaster ride of emotions. It will definitely give you food for thought as certain characters have some tough choices to face. I was sure glad it wasn’t me having to choose. This is one crime writer whose books I have read and enjoyed for over a number of years now and can hand on heart say, has never let me down. She delivers thrilling and gripping reads with every book. If you haven’t yet read any, you really should.

My thanks to the author for an advanced readers copy of this book. All opinions are my own and not biased in anyway.

Run For Your Life is a stonkingly good read.  There is so much going on, all at the same time, that it's like chasing a tornado!  A sudden spate of vicious killings, increasing in violence with each attack.  Are these kidnappings and murders linked to an incident that took place five years ago? And if so, why now.  In the midst of all this, Sara and Mark are  putting the final touches to their forthcoming wedding plans, whilst life is not running smoothly for her partner, Carla, and her fiancee,  Gary, as he recovers from his accident on top of that, their wedding plans are being hijacked by Gary's mother. In the midst of everything else going on Sarah receives some truly disturbing news about her older brother Tim which rocks her world and threatens to derail her imminent wedding to Mark.  This is a fast paced and exceedingly gripping book that is impossible to put down and will have you wondering where your sympathy lies. An excellent read and very highly recommended.

Oh My F*****G God. What a book! Sara is about to marry the man of her dreams. But a few obstacles stand in her way. Like advising her friend that her boyfriend is a controller, finding out who killed her brother and also tracking down a vengeful killer. Not much going on eh? But as usual Mel delivers all these threads and ties it up with a great big bow. I keep waiting for the pace, the quality or the proficiency to drop but I'm always disappointed. She sets her bar high and maintains her standards. If you are looking for a fast paced, exciting read then Mel is the one for you. And the good news is she has a great back catalogue. Read this book and anything else buy Mel. You will like it!

It’s dark, Douglas Connor is on his way home from the pub and very unsteady on his feet. He turns into the park as normal. When nearly at the exit, he checks over his shoulder then he spots the masked assailant, dressed all in black. They exchange words and he hits Connor on the head, knocking him out. He drags him to his van, puts him in the back and drives him to his hut.

After a while he wakes him and starts to question him, Connor denies having any past sins which drives his captor mad. He gets in his face and asks him, ‘No sins, what about when your mates egged you on?’ Connor then remembers. He tries to apologise but the captor says, ‘It was too late, his fate was sealed, he was meeting his maker the next day.’

DI Sara Ramsey receives a call from Lorraine, the pathologist, to attend a crime scene at Elm Leigh Woods. Apparently not a pretty sight. They had marked the way with tape as quite a way in. Sara and Carla head out. When they get to the scene, they see the tape so follow the trail, finally reaching Lorraine and the scene. She thought the man had been tracked as he had been shot four times. There was no ID on the body.

A bit later, Sara receives a call from her mum. Asking her to check on her brother as she hasn’t heard from him in three months and the phone is just ringing. Sara says she will do it for her and dad but not until later that day as she has a PM to attend.

Sara and Cara were happy to get out of the PM so then it was off to Tim’s flat. Sara knocked, no answer. Knocked again, still no answer but the woman next door did. She reckoned she hadn’t heard him in days and had a proper rant. Sara peered through the letterbox but wasn’t prepared for the smell. She phoned Carla to come up. She tried and they agreed. Carla phoned for backup so they could gain entry….

Who killed Douglas Connor and why? What did he do in his past? Is this a revenge killing? Could there be another? What has happened to Sara’s brother?

This was a fantastic read, I was blown away reading this. Totally gripped from the start and I had to read through to the end so read in one sitting. This is another great addition to a brilliant series.

I am a massive fan of this author’s books and I was delighted to see that she had a new release in the DI Sara Ramsey series – Run For Your Life

I can’t actually believe that this is already the ninth book in this series as it does not seem that long ago that we were first introduced to DI Sara Ramsey – the books are coming out thick and fast and I think that this may be my favourite to date!!

The book held my attention throughout, it was dark and the murders were gruesome but in keeping with the plot line and it was a completely additive read, fast flowing and well written.

I loved being able to catch up with Sara and the team, I feel really invested in the characters having followed the series from the start and I was really pleased with the very, very end of this book too! (No spoilers you will need to read!).

It is 5 stars from me again for this one – it was a very well written and fast paced read that had me hooked, I loved that Mel has taken the series back to the darker side, and given Sara and the team as case they could get their teeth in too. I am really looking forward to DI Ramsey’s next case – and I must say I LOVE that cover again, all the covers in this series are simply stunning and really stand out, hats off to the cover designer!!

It is hard to believe this is already book 9 in this series which is one of my favourites.
In Run For Your Life, DI Sara Ramsey is investigating a string of gruesome murders of young men who committed a monstrous crime five years previously that they had thought they had got off from, and were carrying on with their lives until someone is determined that they must pay …. with their lives!!
In this book Sara is also dealing with a family tragedy as well as her upcoming wedding to the lovely Mark. Carla is also not herself and certainly not behaving like a happy bride-to-be, hopefully she comes to her senses soon and realises she does not have to go through with the wedding (I do not like Gary)
Once again this author (superwoman) has given her fans a thrilling and fast paced book that had me completely hooked from start to finish.

Another fantastic read in the D I Sara Ramsey series. Whilst both DS Carla Jameson & D I Sara Ramsey are both knee deep in wedding preparations, dead bodies are turning up left right and centre in a brand new case, with nary a clue in sight. Will Sara and her team be able to find the murderer before the next dead body is uncovered ??
This fast paced series gains momentum with every new book, a readers’ delight.

I can't believe that this is book 9 in the Sarah Ramsey series. As well as dealing with the most henious of crimes Sarah has to deal with a personal tragedy, she is shocked by her own reaction as she had distanced herself from the victim in the past few years, revalations about them leave her in total disbelief. I don't know how MA Comley keeps coming up with these different story lines, another great read.

Run for your life by M.A Comley had me gripped from page one, so much so that I read it in two sittings, I just couldn’t put it down. It’s my 9th fix of the D.I Sara Ramsey series, I would say it could potentially be read as a stand alone as it has really good background about the characters in it but I would absolutely, definitely recommend the other books in the series. I love this series and for me each book has got better as i’ve felt like i’ve personally got to know the characters a little bit more, as the books have gone on.

This is a utterly brilliant read, it has everything! There is kidnap, violence, ghastly murder scenes, autopsies, difficult circumstances AND on top of the rising body count D.I Sara Ramsey’s personal life, once again is thrown upside down, as she encounters a battle when her work life crosses with her family life. When her two worlds collide, will Sara be able to keep her professional head on or will she risk her career by letting temptation get the better of her?

I will repeat again, this book has it all going on and you will not be disappointed. The suspense starts on page one and really does have unexpected twists until the end. I just couldn’t work this killer out and it seems they are determined to keep it that way. Is it true that time a great healer??????

Book 9... already... and with no signs of flagging! Usual series rules apply even though you'll have 8 to get through first, they've all be stonkingly good reads so... really, why not!?
So... there's a body found. On first viewing it looks nasty and this is backed up by the PM. Then there's another... is it connected? Looks that way from what happened to both before and after death. But what is the connection between them? Is there one? Sara and Carla really need their wits about them for this one as they start to investigate, before another body turns up. And then Sara gets a call from her family, worried about her brother. Eventually she does a welfare check but is shocked at what she finds. All this whilst trying to keep on top of planning her wedding to Mark. Busy stuff all the way through. Busy but balanced and so excellently plotted that it all flows perfectly seamlessly throughout. As you would expect from this author! Also, when all is said and done, it does give you food for thought at the way that some things happen in the legal system. Can't say more, spoilers...
Everything you'd expect to find from this author is also front and centre in this book once again. No padding, no waffle, scenes are set and characters defined perfectly without. This means that the story gets on with itself very well. There's also plenty of the author's trademark banter between characters, and a bit of bickering, especially between Sara and Carla - keeps it real...
And the story kept me on my toes throughout, kept my attention and kept me reading - start to finish in one sitting - well hammocking actually - in the sun - perfect :)
All in all a cracking addition to not only a great series but also a fantastic back catalogue... Here's to the next one.

DI Sara Ramsey faces an escalating serial killer and a life-changing tragedy in her family

This is one of the better entries in the DI Sara Ramsey series. She has a complex serial killer case, where her team is trying to find a common link between the victims. Plus, there’s an associated case of an eighteen-year old who was brutally gang-raped.

Whilst trying to resolve the difficult cases, there’s a bit of tension in DI Ramsey’s personal life, because her wedding day is in two weeks. Then a dreadful tragedy affects her entire family, forcing her to deal with the consequences and the ensuing fallout. Plus, all’s not well w DS Carla Jameson’s personal life. Her mother-in-law-to-be is paying full freight for Carla and Gary’s wedding, so MIL doesn’t want anyone else’s input.

Overall, an enjoyable read, although the investigation into the serial killer’s victims was spotty at times. It’s easiest to ignore it due to DI Ramsey’s family tragedy, which upended their lives. OTOH, I was a bit surprised how quickly and smoothly their lives went on, but it was an HEA . . . with caveats.

This was explosive, from start to end! What a brilliant story. I’ve read a lot of books in this series and as before, this one kept me well gripped and entertained.

The storyline is emotive and thought provoking, and it forced me to explore the gritty theme of revenge. I found myself angry at the past in the story and also questioning what I thought was right and wrong. It showed us that the world is so many shades of grey, that a win isn’t necessarily a triumph.

As with the other books in this series, the tight-knit Sara, Carla and Lorraine team were fantastic and I loved their interactions.

I hugely recommend this book for police procedural and thriller lovers. Although it’s book nine in the series, I confirm that you can read it as a stand-alone as the case is self contained. You won’t stop for breath if you start this one - seriously!

Vengeance

A young girl is gang raped, the case goes to court & due to a clever barrister , the men are acquitted.
Years later, a man is killed. Sara's team get the case . A few days later another man is found dead.
Lorraine, the pathologist, finds both men have been injected with tranquilizer and then shot. Evidence points to them being hunted, until they were tracked down and killed.
Looking into the background of the men, they discover the rape case. The two victims were among the five men charged with the offence. Then a third name on the list turns up dead with similar injuries.
Someone is out to punish the rapists, after all this time. All the team have to do is find the culprit, and keep the remaining two under surveillance, trying to keep them alive in the meantime.

This is the ninth instalment in this series - DI Sara Ramsey and DS Carla Jameson are tasked with solving gruesome local murders. They don’t have many clues to go on so need to dig deep into their investigative skills to find the killer. This had me gripped from page one!

I love the way this author can effortlessly mix her stories between her cases and personal stories without losing the reader’s interest. I just love the interaction between the various members of the team especially her hilarious love/hate relationship with the Pathologist, Lorraine Dixon.

In this story DI Sara Ramsey has to deal with person emotions as well as planning her upcoming nuptials. Can’t wait for more in this brilliant series.

When DI Sara Ramsey and DS Carla Jameson receive the call to go to Elm Leigh Woods they are horrified by what they find ..Its the scene of a murder that looks as though the man was hunted down like a dog ..his body riddled with bullets ...And then there is another murder ..Who could be committing these acts and why ? Sara has so much on her mind with a wedding to plan , and when she gets the phone call from her mother she has even more to contend with ..a family matter that is deeply upsetting for her ..Who is behind these heinous acts and could the key to it all be in the past . ? Once again Mel Comley has written a dark and Gripping read that will keep you glued to the pages all the way through to the end ..A Fantastic read ...An absolutely riveting Pageturner ..

It's an ok read, but only just. The sub-plot takes up so little of the book it's hardly worth including - and if it impacts on the next one, it would've only taken as chapter at the start of that one. There are the usual bits of stupidity that should have been spotted by an editor. At one point we get "He glanced down at his hands which had been tied behind him" - he'd have to have been an owl to be able to do that. At the end we get "....., give yourself up?" which is a command, not a question. I have a few more of this set on my t.r pile, but I'm so glad I picked them up for £1 each.

Love that we are back with Sara Ramsey and Carla.
Great that we get an insight into their private lives too.

A call from Lorraine, gets the girls heading out to a murder scene.
This sounded awful.
I had to laugh at Sara’s comment about being cold when she left.

Loved following the team to find out what was happening next..
Then we follow them as they speak to the family.

This was one of those reads, you can’t put down.
Really loved the ending of this story too.

The past is never hidden forever

In this novel our heroine,Sara, is faced with hunting down a murderer however little does she know that he is doing some hunting of his own.
A twisted tale involving 5 members of a gang with a past and the eventual fall out from that history 5 years later.
As usual the team , with few clues and lots of patience solve the mystery but is it too late . I recommend you read this enthralling tale to find out for yourself

Another great read!

Another fantastic plot by this author, one that is ripped from the headlines, so to speak. It was fast paced, had all the twists and turns that you come to expect from this series. It could be read as a stand alone, though new readers might be confused about the ending. My only complaint is the ending seemed too rushed. Like the main plots over, I'm done! Other than that a fantastic read. I highly recommend, and I'm off to the next one in this series!

Another great installment

Sara and her team are tracking down a killer who is intent on punishing men who got away with a dreadful crime 5 years ago. Can they find him and stop him before he finishes his quest. As the gang members go missing one by one and are subsequently found brutally murdered, the pressure is one to stop him.

The husband did look like a prime suspect from the outset: arrogant and controlling. It took the police a while to out the pieces of the jigsaw together which, I guess is probably fairly common in police investigations
