Can the man that slays the gods now save their empire?

All Darius ever wanted was to be a warrior, to protect those he holds dear. And that led him to become the most infamous assassin in the Torian Empire...the Slayer of Gods.

But while the so-called gods and their domain may be his enemy, they protect the people from a centuries-old threat. One that now smells weakness.

Darius watches in horror as the Viridian Legion arises with the fire of vengeance in their veins, and waters the fields of the Empire with innocent blood. If humanity is to survive the wrath he exposed them to, Darius must side with those that want him dead and protect those that suffer for his misdeeds.

But gods do not forgive and forget, even when faced with ruin.

That was wild. This was better than the first book with a lot more Sulla who I absolutely love. I could do without the constant confused feelings between Darius, Lex and Selene though. Blah. Who needs list and romance in the middle of war. Although, I prefer Selene over Lex. I find Gorgias interesting for some reason. He’s a little cowardly but seems to step up at other times and he’s pretty young. I’m curious to see what happens to them all in the next book.

A concise and impactful second book for the epic fantasy series.

To be p front I was lucky enough to be able to alpha read on an earlier draft and a few revised chapters. As a hobby writer my self I am my own harshest critic. Getting a chance to see a story grow placed me in my writers brain. That brain is a nitpicky brat. I struggled between a 4 and 5 for way to long because of it. This book gets a 5 because even after reading the early draft and seeing revised chapters it pulled the reader portion of my brain into the story. This is a story that sparks the imagination and is very well written for it's price. I think the series is available on Kindle Unlimited and shows a lot of promise for future book coming out in a timely fashion.

This series is PG 15. Book 2 opens up with some harsh realities that while not explicit are not for younger audiences. They are a few intense and emotional scenes that pulled me in and hit me pretty hard. The action comes in brutal burst and Andy Blinston goes in some unpredictable directions with story lines. This means you will not be able to predict the ending till it is on you.

The magic systems within are interesting and so far based upon the species you are and heritage. It is a soft magic system to a degree but that just makes it perfect for a fast read. I would even say that it is a soft epic fantasy because you're not buried in details, just given enough to dive in and have the epic feel.

It is a fast read and a promising series that I started on kindle unlimited a couple years ago but now have it in my library.

Again OMG

Seriously good story telling. According to the latest newsletter Andy is working on book 3 and 4. Enough with the board games...get to work! LOL
Cannot wait to see what happens to Darius, Lyra, Selene and Lex. The suspense is killing me. I'm considering rereading the books, which I've only done one other time. The story is that intriguing. Great suspense and mystery.

This continuation of Darius’s journey was just as addicting as book one. I was captivated from the first page and that didn't end until the last word was read. A really great addition to this fascinating world.

This part of Darius' story starts
off slowly and gradually speeds
up the pace.
Be prepared for a good read; your
thinking - cap will be needed.
Enjoy !!

I started this series because the premise kinda reminded me of a fantasy series I really enjoyed called Darkblade Assassin, but honestly it falls short of what I expected. It's still a pretty decent read but there's a lot of things that frustrate me that make it impossible to give these books more than 3 stars so far. I didn't leave a review on the first book because I wanted to reserve my judgement until after reading the second one to see if there would be improvement as the story progresses and tho there was some improvement it wasn't much. The intelligence of the main character is extremely lacking and that alone knocks off some stars because I'm the type of reader that despises incompetence in characters. Then there's also the fact that one of the characters that's been built up to be one of the keenest and cleverest characters has made the dumbest decisions I've seen in this series so far. Lex has made some minor decisions that showcase some manner of intelligence but she's made many more decisions that tell me she's a dumbass. Honestly most of the characters in this series are pretty dumb and that's my biggest problem with the books, this series really wouldn't be so frustrating if the author didn't write these characters so juvenilely. Nevertheless, I'm still gonna try to continue the series, hopefully I won't suffer an aneurysm because of it.

I think this book, like the last, is a little more 3.5 than 4. The character count is fine, and there's a certain amount of depth to it. The plot is okay, the magic still fairly unexplained, there's a hint of a wider historic overarching backstory.

The action is good, there was an interesting obvious surprise and less obvious surprise?

I have no idea what is happening next, and I will keep reading, but it's average or above average (most of the editing, at least, is better than what I've read in many cases).

I couldn't put it down

What a wild ride. In this second book of the series, we get a good look at some of the darker players and their schemes. We also find out a lot more of Darius' past. His metal is certainly tested as he suffers physical and emotional suffering that would end most men. If you enjoy stories about ancient warfare with a touch of godlike powers, then this series should interest you.

so much subterfuge

There are different enemies but the humans didn’t believe or realize it. The evil people eating viridian legion and the marginalia as well as another that has only been mentioned by name seline and Darius fall into “love” but he keeps a secret as does lex does it seems that Darius continues to make the wrong choices and death follows brutis still believes I. Him and Sulla does but when the red legion wants to aid Darius it doesn’t go as any of them planned

This novel continues to fire on all cylinders, and I'm loving it! Certain questions I had from first novel were answered, But thanks to a excellent plot-line, I have more. The action continues, and author Blinston,I WANT MORE!

Extremely well written and balanced. Very interesting and just really locks you into the stories. I would definitely recommend this wonderful collection.
I received this book as a boxset containing Oblivion and Viridian Legion and therefore voluntarily reviewing it as so.

Best Fantasy Series "eva"

This series by Blinston has non-stop thrilling episodes that are superb! Darius, the main character is seriously flawed and his disobedience causes devastating unintended consequences. Terry Goodkind, watch out cuz Blinston is coming for you!

Death stalks the world

A well written and constructed plot line, that will keep you gripped. There is a number of ups and downs for the character's, and twists you don't see until they happen.

A thrilling ride from start to finish and a great follow on from book 1. I'm still confused as to how the mightiest warrior in the kingdom is afraid and nauseated by blood and gore, but a very interesting conundrum :)
