Zara Mitchel is driving to Last Stand, Texas and is just outside the city limits when her car dies and she is stranded, and that would be okay if her cell phone was working and that she was not 8 months pregnant... But just as she despairs of having to walk to town, a car pulls up and her own knight in a shiny truck pulls up to rescue her. And he was a truly handsome one at that.

JT Williams has no idea what he is going to find when he stopped to help this stranded car, but it was not a beautiful woman who looks like she is going to give birth at any minute. But he feels something he has not felt in a long time... desire for this woman about to become a mother... and she is also is indirectly the reason he has come to Last Stand to find a sister he didn’t know he had. But the two cannot stop the attraction that is happening between them, but will lies and deceit pull them apart when Zara finds out the truth. Will JT need a Christmas miracle to help him win back Zara...

I really loved this story, it’s just what the world needs right now, Christmas, romance, babies and love. Katherine Garbera always does these things in her books and you want to find out what happens with each turn of the page.

Thank you, Katherine, for giving me the opportunity to read and review another one of your wonderful books.

A heartwarming, sweet romance, “Texas Christmas Baby”, by Katherine Garbera (Tule Publishing), features a “beautifully pregnant” heroine and a very smitten hero
I loved and related to both lead characters and how their relationship and bond came about genuinely. J.T. was just downright adorable, so openly infatuated with Zara since the beginning and not even a bit turned off by her pregnancy. Zara is a great character, too, determined and sweet; and her interaction with Sprout is endearing.
I really liked the way their relationship developed, their easy rapport and how they feel so comfortable together, despite the doubts, fears and secrets.
The attraction and the romance did seem a bit rushed at times but it’s a quick read and J.T. was also dealing with a huge personal issue. Even avoiding and omitting that from Zara, there’s an honesty and openness about both leads that is refreshing.
I also liked the fact J.T.’s health condition was only a trait of the character and didn’t dominate it. His personal quest was also handled well.
A quick, enjoyable read with lovable leads and side characters from previous stories.

This is Zara Mitchell and J.T. Williams's story.
Zara Mitchell wasn’t surprised that the piece of crap car she’d bought for less than $5000 on her way out of Los Angeles crapped out in the middle of nowhere Texas. Eight months pregnant, on her way to start her new life in Last Stand on December 1st. It seemed as if this year had been sending her a hard message and, honestly, Zara was ready to leave it all behind.
The only good thing to come out of it was this chance to start over and of course the baby growing inside of her. It didn’t matter that the man who’d gotten her pregnant had been a lying asshole, this baby was going to be the dream family she’d always wanted but had never found. Her fresh start. Her chance to get her shit together not for herself but for the baby.
She’d resisted knowing the sex of the child though the doctor had offered to tell her numerous times—she didn’t need to know if she was having a boy o
“Hey there. Do you need some help?” he asked.
His voice was a deep, rich timbre that reminded her of the bassoon in the orchestra. Even the baby liked it, rolling in her stomach toward the sound. She put her hand on top of her stomach to connect with the child.
“Yes. My car sort of coughed and sputtered and then just died. I can’t get it to restart and I have no cell phone reception out here.
Texas Christmas Baby by is Katherine Garbera is a 2 star book.

Zora had left Los Angeles and Raul and all his lies behind. Now it was just her and the little sprout she was growing in her womb. She was on her way to, Last Stand, Texas where her best friend, Amelia. That's where she lives with her husband, Cal. She just bought, Amelia's old house, when she moved in with, Cal. She wanted a whole new life for her child. Being in the, LA scene of make-believe doing makeup was wonderful. However, there were not enough real people, real relationships, or perceptions.

She sells what she doesn't need, and packs the rest. She then buys a used car for, five thousand dollars. Which breaks down a short distance from her destination. A good samaritan stops to help, taking her into town. This is a good thing because her phone had no signal. When a deep, rich timbre reminded her of the bassoon in the orchestra. Even the baby liked it, rolling in her stomach toward the sound. Asked, “Hey there. Do you need some help?”

She said she did, that she didn't have cell service, so she couldn’t call for a tow to come check. They both knew the basics about cars, putting gas in, and driving, which worked for me. They both looked under the hood and then at each other and came up the same, with nothing. She started to panic because she, couldn't find the simple hood latch. Zara remembered what, Amelia said about basic things, she said it doesn't matter that she could just learn them.

Jay introduces himself to, Zara. He’s courteous about why no husband is with her. She says thanks for the ride. I’m moving to Last Stand, because of a best friend. I have family but not close. Also, baby daddy is out of the picture completely. Jay says he’s there because his, father had been there before and spoke so highly of the small town. When he was there due to the fight, he had with his folks. Over them never telling him, he had an older sister, who was the match donor, when he was a child and saved him. But, he says none of that.

This was a heartfelt book. This is about two people who know, they are not right for each other. But, their hearts are saying something else.

Zara and JT’s story in Texas Christmas Baby by Katherine Gabera, book two in Corbyn Sisters of Last Stand series, was a wonderful, sexy, emotional and enjoyable tale. Zara Mitchell is about to become a single mom after learning that the baby’s father lied about everything; he already had a wife and family. Now that she would be on her own she decided to move to Last Stand, Texas where her best friend lived and near the location of her new job. When her car breaks down outside of town, Zara is rescued by the most beautiful man she’s ever seen. He is truly her knight in shining armor. J.T. Williams has lived a charmed life, or at least until an argument between his parents revealed he had a half-sister, Amelia, in Last Stand. Wanting to meet her, he takes off for Texas; encountering a beautiful, pregnant woman stranded outside of town. When T.J. learns that Zara and Amelia are best friends, he decides to hide his true identity and get to know both women before letting them know who he really is. Spending time together, Zara and J.T. discover that they are very attracted to each other and then there’s the sizzling chemistry every time they touch. When J.T. admits to the true reasons for being in Last Stand Zara feels used and unsure of her feelings. As J.T. gets to know Amelia he understands his mistake and knows he must make a grand gesture in order to get Zara to forgive him and give him another chance. The only problem, Zara’s baby has the worse timing in the world.

Ms. Gabera wrote a wonderful and emotional story that is definitely not to be missed. She provided a tale rich with off the charts, sizzling chemistry, fun adventures, and charming characters giving Zara and J.T. a chance to get to know each other and realize that they were meant to be together. I highly recommend Texas Christmas Baby to other readers and look forward to the next book in this series.

I received a complimentary copy of this book and I am voluntarily reviewing it.

This was a delightful story. I adored "catching" up with characters from prior books of this author's Last Stand, Texas books. It was charming tale and really showed how even omitted the truth can lead to lies and hurt feelings.

J.T. Williams is on his way to Last Stand to see his half-sister, who he just found out about. J.T. previously had thought of himself as an only child of country music super-star Jax Williams. Over Thanksgiving he discovers that his father previously had another child. It was this other child that saved his life when he was five with a bone marrow donation. Discovering a sister twenty years later, J.T. wants to meet her. Thirty miles outside of Last Stand, he comes across a disabled car. The driver is a heavily pregnant Zara Mitchell. Zara wants a fresh start after discovering her baby-daddy boyfriend had forgotten to mentioned that he already was married and had a family. Zara's BFF suggested her home-town as Zara isn't close to her parents and was just going to throw a dart at a map to find the place for her fresh start.

Soon it is discovered that Zara's BFF and J.T.'s half-sister are one and the same, Amelia Corbyn. The web of deceit that J.T finds himself in and how close he gets with Zara was a wonderful story. With the back-drop of Christmas and the charm of small-town Last Stand as a back-drop, I truly hated for this story to end.

The author does a fantastic job of weaving a tale of second chances and family with this one. I would highly recommend this story to anyone over the age of 18. There was a "sexy" scene in the last part of the story and I would not want to offend any parent of a young person with my recommendation.

I am going to start this off and admit this is not one of my favorite books by Katherine Garbera. It really isn't about any of the Corbyn sisters of Last Stand but about Amelia's friend Zara and Amelia's half-brother, J.T. Williams.

Do the sisters appear in the novella? Yes but the story is not about any of the sisters. They are not the focus so I am confused with it being a part of the series.

But aside from this, the story is a fast moving story about learning to take a chance and learning to love. Zara meets J.T. when her car dies on her right outside of Last Stand, Texas. Zara is 8 months pregnant and not wanting to make any more bad decisions, especially about men. She is starting her life and the life of her Sprout in Last Stand and plans to live there for years to come. She has chosen to move to Last Stand because her friend Amelia Corbyn lives there.

J.T. Williams has just found out he has a half sister that his father never acknowledged and his parents had kept quiet about since his mother knew about her. And this mystery half sister had played an important part in his life when he was 5. J.T. needed a bone marrow donor in order to survive his childhood cancer. All he knew was that a donor had been found and he got the much needed bone marrow transplant.

And this leads J.T. on his way to Last Stand and meeting his half sister. And it turns out his destiny, he meets Zara who changes his world.

This is a fast read and escape for these hectic times. If you are looking for something fun to read and escape, enjoy this trip to Last Stand.

I did receive a copy of this novel from the publisher in exchange for a fair and unbiased review.

Texas Christmas Baby is the second story in the Corbyn Sisters of Last Stand – but we’re going to run into several familiar faces from this small Texas town (and the series that take place here). This is one of the many reasons that I adore Last Stand (or Marietta), because we never truly lose track of old book friends, just like small towns you’ll never know when they’ll pop up again.

Zara and J.T.’s story has layers to it, enjoyable layers but they still exist. Zara has learned that the father of her unborn child has told a bushel full of lies, and for that reason, she’s now stranded outside of Last Stand, Texas where she’s hoping to begin a new life with her best friend near. The last thing she expected was the handsome stranger who came to her rescue – or the considerable part he’d play in her future. If only our heroes didn’t come with feet of clay, it’s almost as if they were human or something prone to bad choices made for the right reasons.

Texas Christmas Baby is full of emotions, laughter, some angst, some poor choices – but at the heart, this is a story of second chances, of taking risks, and letting the past go and stay where it belongs, behind us. I had such a good time with J.T. and Zara (and the Last Stand gang). A smooth story, a likable couple, and a chance for a happy future if only they are willing to take a risk in trusting again… what’s not to love about that kind of romance?

*I received an e-ARC of this novel from Tule Publishing. That does not change what I think of this story. It is my choice to leave a review giving my personal opinion about this book.*

This book basically had no story to it. All we got was the two mcs talking repeatedly about how they couldn't get into a relationship right now. The whole half-sister storyline could have been really interesting but all we got was them meeting a couple of times, then she finds out who he is and they become friends.

When Zara's mother decided to come visit Zara with her husband and 5 yr old twin sons I thought we might finally see some drama (Zara hadn't seen her mother in at least 6 years as she'd never even met her half-brothers). But no, the visit was merely given a passing mention from a point 2 weeks later.

Even her labour consisted only of "2 hours later she held her perfect baby son in her arms". There was one bland sex scene at the end of the book which was a year after they were married and took up about a page.

The writing was stilted and frequently jarring. The author wasn't much on using contractions so there were lots of things like "he would have to...." and " I will go to..." instead of "he'd have to..." and "I'll go...".

Note for the author: weary means a person is tired. If they're cautious then they are WARY!

A Christmas Miracle

When Zara Mitchell moved to Last Stand, Texas, to start a new life and raise her baby, she didn’t plan on meeting a man. She was done with their lies and deceit. But, when JT Williams came into her life, everything changed. Zara could suddenly see a future with JT.

JT recently found out he had a half-sister. So, he skipped out on Christmas with his family and headed to Texas. He wanted to keep his identity a secret from everyone. Being the son of a famous country singer was going to be hard. But when he met Zara, he seemed to want to share everything with her. It was hard to tell Zara the truth when his sister was Zara’s best friend. Zara hated secrets and this one could ruin their newly found relationship.

This is one of those books that is filled with holiday magic. From Zara being rescued on the side of the road by a man she referred to as an angel, to the family bonds and traditions, to new love and a baby. This book was filled with feel good moments.

This is a sweet romance set in the town I would love to live in Last Stand sounds like the perfect place to live.

With the break up of the marriage of J.T. Williams parents a secret has come to light he has a half sister Amelia living in Last Stand Texas and he is determined to meet her What he doesn't expect is to find a extremely pregnant woman broken down at the side of the road a few miles from last Stand That woman is Zara after finding that her boyfriend has lied to her all she wanted was to get away from him she knows she will be a single mum but at least in last Stand she will have the support of her best friend Amelia what she didn't need was to be broken down at the side of the road. J.T. is instantly smitten by the woman that looks like she is about to give birth at any moment and when he realises she is also best friends with his sister he decides to keep why he is there a secret hoping to meet Amelia through Zara When the truth comes out could he lose not only the woman he loves but also his sister as well.

Found this a bit of a boring read. The storyline had potential but it pretty much takes place over a few weeks and nothing really happens. The development of the relationship is a couple of outings that are constantly interrupted by eaxh characters internal and overlapping monologue. Very little storyline and a lot of repetitive self reflection. The "drama" or conflict is so minor as to be a non issue and the author has made a mountain out of a molehil to try and create a peak in the story befroe everyone gets a happily ever after. The leading man isnt completely honest but is pretty up front that he's dealing with something and isnt ready to talk to the leading lady (who he's literally just met) and she has to decide whether this is the end or if she can forgive him. The pregnancy also feels very 2 dimensionaland clearly the author either has never been pregnant or has chosen to minimise the realities to not impact the storyline. I couldn't wait to finish so I could get to the next read in my list.

Texas Christmas Baby (Corbyn Sisters of Last Stand #2) by Katherine Garbera is a sweetheart of a Christmas story. Zara Mitchell is a positive personality in spite of some hurtful experiences in her life. I loved the way this character was embracing motherhood. J.T. “Jay” Williams came to Last Stand, Texas for quite different reasons then Zara but Fate was looking out for him when he helped Zara. His character especially grows in areas of acceptance as the story progresses.

Written in a way that I couldn’t help but want to see how Zara fared each day. It is a character driven story that provides wonderful glimpses of the entire Corbyn and Delaney family too. Surprises come along but I won’t spoil it for anyone. Like the gender of Zara’s baby some are worth the wait, so read this feel good with a little angst story today.

An ARC of the book was given to me by Tule Publishing which I voluntarily chose to read and reviewed. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

It’s been fun returning to Last Stand, Texas for this cute Christmas romance. There was a lot to love about this story including positively blooming heavily pregnant heroine Zara Mitchell and sexy hero J.T. Williams. These two were both well drawn characters whom it was easy to like. I particularly liked JT. What’s not to like about a tall, built and handsome man. He had some really tough issues to deal with and while I’d have liked him to be open about his real identity and reason for being in Last Stand I completely understood his reticence. While I liked Zara and loved that she called her unborn baby Sprout, I thought she 2as harder on JT than she needed to be.
Characters aside, one of the other nice things about this story was the wealth of Christmas traditions that Zara and JT indulged in. From picking out a fresh Christmas tree to decorating it, baking and bedecking Zara’s house with lights and garland these two really had me feeling all the Christmas feels.

Zara Mitchel is on her way to Last Stand, TX. She is moving there and she's 8 months pregnant. What a time to move right! Her car suddenly stops outside of town and she is left to try to get it going again. The out of nowhere like in the movies outcomes one fine-looking man, from a big ole truck. He realizes he can't get her car going but he can get her into Last Stand. Jay is headed into town because he just discovered his dad has a secret daughter who he knew nothing about and she lives here. Course things wouldn't be that simple you know. Zara's best friend and Jay's half sister just might know each other...maybe. And even though Zara is pregnant she is not dead in the romance department. Baby daddy is out of the picture and Jay well he is so attracted to her and she to him...sparks could set Texas on fire. This book was really one of those that once i started it, I did not put it down even to eat dinner.

This is Book 2 in the Corbyn Sisters of Last Stand Series and my first read by this author, and I must say that I quite enjoyed the storyline and the characters.. It is a heartfelt holiday romance between J.T. and Zara. These characters are likeable, the connection strong, the chemistry combustible, and the unique plot makes for an interesting read. It is a love story with enough drama, steam, frustrating moments, sweetness, and some twists. Overall, it is a sweet read with engaging secondary characters and a happy ending. It can be read as a standalone but you enhance your reading pleasure if you read the other book in the series.

I liked Zara but I felt in some instances she talked out of the side of her mouth lots of double talk which made her kind of whiney and immature instead of the strong Independent women the author seem to be going for. J.T. he was someone I liked he faced alone in his life but always seem to put family first and at all cost would do anything for those he loved. This book does have sexual content and some strong language so may not be suitable for all. Over all this book was ok, defiantly reminds you what Christmas is really about. I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.

Zara finds she is going to be a single parent thanks to lies. She finds herself in a town called Last Stand in Texas which I think is aptly named for this story. J.T. is also at this town to meet his half sister but decides when he comes upon Zara to hide who he really is because they happen to be friends. We all know how that will go not telling the truth. When Zara and J.T. start to feel more than friends but being by then you are in love with them both you are in wonder about what is going to happen when the cat is out as they say. Come on in and enjoy this one perfect to get in that mood of holidays to come.

Zara is headed to Last Stand to start a new life for her and her unborn baby. Having been lied to and deceived by her baby daddy has left her untrusting of men. TJ just learned some troubling news about his family and is headed to Last Stand to meet it head on. When Zara's car beaks down JT is her knight in shining armor. The more time he spends with her he knows that he has to tell her who his famous father is. Through all of this family drama he realizes that he may have come to town for his family but he wants to stay for Zara. Can they work through their differences and give love a chance? Great read!

The characters in this book really got to my heart and that was what keep me turning the pages, even the secondary characters had been through so much and some were just so wise.
Eight months pregnant and going eyes wide open into a new romance, this is a very different story line for sure, and from the guys side to and the writer really takes you into both sides.
I recommend this book, I was given an ARC of in exchange for my review, as an enjoyable read.

What a great Christmas read. Zara and JT meet when he rescues her while she is stranded on the side of the road with her car broke down. When JT stopped to help, he was not expecting a woman that looks like she is ready to give birth! Their story is sweet clean romance with a little drama thrown in. A must-read Christmas romance. Meant to be together

Zara was relocating to Last Stand as she was pregnant and wanted her friends support until the baby was born. Jay was coming to Last Stand to find the half sister he had only recently discovered. Both had different reasons to be in Last Stand but the attraction between them was so strong that it eventually led them to their happily ever after.

Didn’t feel connected to the characters. Zara was wish washy and there didn’t seem to be any depth to her. And they kept “realizing” things which just got obnoxious after a while. I love Last Stand and the story had potential but it just fell flat for me.
