An alternative cover for this ASIN can be found here. Welcome back to Silver Springs, Colorado, where the Donnelly brothers are once again saving damsels in distress.
Gracie Shelton had grown up in Silver Springs until she was fourteen. Then suddenly, her parents moved them without any notice to Denver. Years later, she found out the real reason that her life had been disrupted. Her dream had been to return to the small mountain community and reclaim her first love. But with her father’s secret came a new worry. One that could destroy her chance at happily ever after.
Mason Donnelly had been moving through his life, wondering what was next. Romance had been put on the back burner, as he just wasn’t interested. Suddenly, the girl he’d fallen in love with at the tender age of fourteen is back in his life, and he understands. She’s had his heart all these years, and now he wants it back. But he wants hers as well.
Can Gracie believe and truly let the past go, giving up the notion that the children pay for the sins of their fathers and grasp the concept of true forgiveness? Or will she hold onto her fears, and lose what’s left of her heart?
Morris Fenris loves to let his imagination paint pictures in a wide variety of genres. His current book list includes everything from Christian romance to an action-packed Western romance series, to inspirational and Christmas holiday romance.
Another sweet story of the Donnelly Brothers. Like Justin, the first book in the series, Mason's story was plagued with typos although the majority were less obvious ones. A big one for me was when Gracie was discussing "PDST". That typo sent me reeling with confusion especially as an individual who has friends, family, and even myself have PTSD. This typo is a major mistake and it is not okay. PTSD is a real problem and mistyping it is a disservice to individuals living with it every day. Again I felt frustrated by them and robbed of a great book. I may sound like a stickler but I really feel that the typos and grammatical errors really take away from the book. Of course as annoying as they were, I had to finish the series with Kaillar.
I didn't like this book nearly as much as I liked the first book (Justin) in the series. I am a Colorado native and have been to Vail several times and live in Colorado Springs. It was nice to read a book about the beauty of Colorado. I just think that things happened so fast in this book and there was no real meat to it, if you can understand what I'm getting at. It was a pleasant read but, if I'm honest, it just didn't live up to my expectations. Still looking forward to reading the last installment of this series.
He writes a good clean story. I like the characters and how they deal with things to "be there" for each other. The community seems to be warm and caring. A place you would like to live, with the people who matter in your life " there" for you. No judgment, just steady support. A good ending. Makes you want to read all the rest in the series. And, you can! It comes in its own box set so you can read them all together. Bonus!!! I received this as an free copy. Now, to read the rest? A good afternoon read.
I loved this book! It held my interest the whole way though. I loved the closeness, caring, and love between the friends and family. But I especially loved the strength of faith and the dedication, courage, and leadership of Justin as he prayed and of the other characters in the book. I highly recommend this book.
Childhood friends meet again years later. Gracie's father suddenly moved the family elsewhere due to his worry about being found out for his infidelity, leaving Mason wondering why they left and missing her. Gracie knows her father's secret and is afraid Mason will think less of her if he finds out about his mom. But Gracie was a baby when Mason's mother died, so I didn't really get why she felt guilty about something her father had done-it's not like she had any control over it. Gracie and two friends get caught on the mountain and Mason is one of the rescuers. I like how the various characters really cared about the others, especially the girl who is still traumatized after being assaulted. This is a good, clean Christian story.
I don't know if it's just because I had such a connection to a previously read book, or if I just am not in the mood for a novel such as this one- but I did not feel the pull to this novel that I normally do when I am reading a new novel. I will definitely have to try again later.
A whole lot of emotion here. Dangerous mountain rescues, reunited old friends, lots of new loves and difficult secrets. All sending my emotions every which way, from worry to tears of relief, sadness and joy. A totally engaging story, that was hard to put down.
Such a beautiful story of love and healing. Morris has a way of making stories come to life and each story gets better than the last. They keep me interested from the beginning until the end. Morris is just an amazing author, I would highly recommend his books.
Very entertaining and interesting storyline about two friends in love at 14 and forced to separate by her parents. They never stopped loving each other. Good clean romance.
I would highly recommend this book to anyone who reads Christian Romance.I ABSOLUTELY loved it .The characters are so real and you can define with them.
