The Operator

Rate this book
THE OPERATOR IS ONE MAN AGAINST THE MACHINE

Bill Blake is a senior officer inside D19, a cadre of hand-picked SAS soldiers designed to be an elite within the elite but when a raid on a Russian safehouse goes wildly wrong and his own men try to kill him, the hunter becomes the hunted. Blake finds himself on the run and desperate to clear his name. Then, he defends a young woman from the brutal violence of her drug-dealing boyfriend and soon realises he has two battles on his hands.

Blake is now an outlaw. A rogue special operative out in the cold. The only way he can clear his name and save his life is to follow the dark, lethal trail of conspiracy that goes right to the very top of the British Government. Everything is stacked against him in this fast-paced, high-octane action crime thriller. For fans of Lee Child’s Jack Reacher, Vince Flynn’s Mitch Rapp and Robert Ludlum’s Jason Bourne.

First book by this author for me and a standalone thriller, sadly.

I am ready for book 2, shame!

This book starts with a bang and stays at that pace till the end, action packed, fast paced, interesting thriller, great lead character. A quick read at 187 pages.

Recommended. Four stars.

Blake doesn't even think twice before pulling the trigger. I like that.
No sentiments. No Mercy.

He also has this sense of urgency and the author did will not to stretch the crunch situations by injecting needless dialogues which actually breaks the buildup.

A great action packed read

This was a new author for me. I very much enjoyed the writing style and plot in this one off and stand alone book. The author stated there would not be a sequel. This is a shame because I liked the character and, for me at least, there is a lot of scope for more storylines. I look forward to reading some other books written by Rob Jones. A big thank you to the author and a well deserved 5 stars from me ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Action packed thriller

Action from start to finish and the storyline opens up the shadowy world of dangerous people who manipulate people and they are not afraid to terrorise them into doing their dirty work whilst hiding in the shadows.
And then one man stands up to be counted and puts paid to their schemes in the only way he knows,by using his abilities learnt in the SAS to stop them permanently.

Kill or Be Killed

Blake and his highly trained army operatives go on a mission to take a Russian spy to a safe house. The object is almost completed when two of his men shoot the spy, her body guards and another member of the team. Shocked when they turn the gun on him, he escapes and works to stop the mission to kill him.

Started Great.......

Not my cup of tea at all.
When a SAS (half) Colonel is on the run having nearly been assassinatedon, I find it quite unbelievable he'd follow these actions. Also inconsistencies and allowing an armed man (knife) to be in touching distance (head to head) and could feel his breath....... sorry, but rather sorry state for a special force's thriller.

I really enjoy Rob Jones books and this one the first one in the Bill Blake series didn't disappoint.
A great story that starts at a fast pace and doesn't slow down and left me looking forward to book 2.
Interesting new character and looking forward to where this goes whilst I read the Joe hawke series along side it.

No sequaL?

What do you mean no sequel? You have a great character here, you just can’t stop this story! Please reconsider. Characters like him are hard to find and good authors even more so!

Excellent

This is an excellent story that had me turning the pages and wanting me to find out more about the characters and situations it led to. I've never read anything from Rob Jones before and it was the delight to start off my reading journey with this book

Lacking strength

Tried packing in two stories in one with a huge dose of superman and cars that run for days without refuelling. I kept reading in the hope that the story would get better. It didn't.

Well worth a read

Well worth reading although I would recommend a packet of salt taken in pinched with a good glass of whisky. In all seriousness the story is well contrived but I'm sure there will be any number of ex forced having a chuckle.

A great read

Honest and brutal, but then some plots don't need sugar coating. If you enjoy action and intrigue then don't miss this book!

To say this book was rubbish is probably a serious under statement. I am still trying to make my mind up if a 13 year old wrote it.
