Sewing Patterns for Face Masks: A Complete Guide with Illustrations on Making Reusable and Washable Masks as Protection Against Infection, Virus, and Respiratory Diseases

Rate this book
Do you want to learn how to make your own DIY face mask? If yes, then keep reading! Medical face masks are a type of personal protective equipment used primarily to prevent the spread of respiratory infections caused by water vapor and droplets in the air. These masks are worn over the openings of the mouth and nose and, when properly worn, are very useful in combating microbial infestations. During surgery, the use of a medical face mask can protect against the spread of blood splashes and fluids.  Apart from epidemics and emergencies, these masks can be used during regular times. They have proven to be beneficial in protecting against bacterial diseases such as tuberculosis and pneumonia. These diseases are prevalent in developing countries and cause a high number of deaths.
Viruses and diseases are often spread through germs that can survive in the air, outside of the host’s body.  Droplets are the primary way viruses and diseases are spread. The current Covid-19 virus is just one of many viruses that have harmed the health of our world.
It is essential that we take matters into our own hands. We must work to prevent the spread of the disease. This is the reason why it is crucial at this time to always wear a mask.
You can buy your own masks, but you can also create DIY masks as these are more practical.   This book Ready to get started? Click the BUY NOW button!

Too many typos

The book uses British English but that's not the problem. There are wrong word usage issues and too much repetition. The title says there are illustrations but not nearly enough.

Totally helpful and appropriate for today

With the corona virus running rampant globally, I wanted to make masks at home so that each person in my house has at least one for each day. This book explains what the masks do, why they help, and different fabrics and styles of mask. This book uses research from Dr. Fauci, the WHO and the CDC. I found that added validation to the mask patterns. I liked that the author also explains which fabrics filter better (and gave percentages) and what filtering methods work best. This book was so much more than sewing patterns, it has really good information

Stay safe!

Since Covid-19 started, people are wearing face masks. Unfortunately, due to high demand, they are hard to find. This book gives you easy, step-by-step instructions for making your own. You don't need anything special, just some fabric and elastic. An old t-shirt or pillowcase will even work. These are not medical grade masks, but they are better than no mask at all. It tells you the benefits and risks of homemade masks. If you want to make your own, this is the book for you.

Mask making guided by a professional

This book is extremely thorough, explaining not only why one should wear a mask, but how to make various kinds , and which type and fit provide the best protection. Since I am making masks to appeal to people, I want them to be effective in preventing the spread of Covid 19, as well as making a statement that the neccessary action can still be fun.
