The story was quite enjoyable but super paced. The blurb says it all, not much new to the plot. And the romance was very quickly developed and before you knew it the L word was spoken. I kinda liked the characters but there is definitely a lot unused potential for the story to grow. A shame it's such a short story. But still a great, quick read.

"4,5" Alien stars form me!!
I love these kind of books, this one particularly was a little bit different and that definitely got my attention from the first page. The whole fast pace plot was original, enjoyable and very interesting, the author created a completely different world with history, traditions, species/colors. The story began when Megan stood in the wrong place the wrong time and from an ordinary human suddenly became a royal..with the Alien King's baby...ooh yeah you read right..now how is going to react and what the king Mikaal is going to do?? well you have to read to learn!!!
Loved both characters and how the attraction between them developed from denial to acceptance and how some of their beliefs changed because of this attraction. Mikaal is the dominant/possessive/protective king you expect him to be and he has found his match upon Megan's rebellious personality their dialogues were very enjoyable and generally the secondary characters made the story even more interesting. Also i have to add that it has a bonus story Troubled which was also very interesting and enjoyable.

Amusing and satisfying quick read. Feel like there was some random emotions in there, but not often or extreme enough to kick me out of the story completely.

I'll admit I read this mostly out of curiosity towards the premise of a couple brought together through the woman's artificial insemination with the man's child. That being said, I was very disappointed. Somehow Juno Wells thinks a woman wouldn't even be very emotional at the revelation that she has been impregnated against her will and the father has kidnapped and plans to hold her until the child is born. Honestly, it practically goes unnoticed while the heroine zeroes in on how hot her new baby daddy is and how ugly her alien OB-GYN is.
I've read enough alien romance to know better than to expect any greatly built characters, but this is just sad. A opportunity missed, truly.

The essence of him
This story didn’t go where I thought it would from the beginning, but it was oh so delicious anyway. I loved the characters and the reality of their relationship not starting out very well. And I enjoyed watching the changes as they spent more time together. Plus the intrigue kept me enthralled throughout the entire story. I am looking forward to reading the next book in the series, it’s sure to be amazing.

Dang near crushed my a falling alien ship but then attacked and impregnated by one alien just to be rescued and kidnapped by the father of her unexpected baby.
Yep that about sums it up. Not really a spoiler but seems it.
I loved "the humans" attitude. She doesn't take the kings shit. Okay finding out she is in another planet, aliens exist and she now pregnant with the kings baby without ever 'doing the deed.'
The King and the human (sorry bad with names and I forgot) fight their attraction for each other until they don't. Read and find out more.

Mikaal is chasing down his essence when it decides it is going to plant itself into Megan Landay. Mikaal was not planning to take a human woman home with him, but she is now pregnant with his child and as King of his planet he is keeping his baby. Now he has a stubborn female who is making him question if he wants to keep her by his side for the baby sake or for his.
This was a short animated fun filled story. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and am looking forward to the next book in the story. Thought Mikaal was a great character and enjoyed seeing Megan deal with being abducted.

Quick read but a cute story!
I love how they met in a random strange circumstance. There is no insta-love and we get to see their relationship grow. There is a little angst, with friendships formed and then the unlikely love between 2 species.
He saves her then she only sees him as her captor when he only wants to assure her safety.
He does his best to make keep their relationship platonic, but her allure is just too much to resist.
This may have been a quick read but I loved every page!

I wasn't expecting a literary masterpiece and I didn't get one. There were a fair few syntactical errors and missing/misused words. The passage of time was really poorly marked; I'd assume a few minutes had passed and it would be implied later that it had been weeks or months. That said, what I was hoping for was a good giggle and I certainly got that. Completely and utterly ludicrous a read, but rather fun nevertheless.

Another cute short alien read. This one was a tiny bit of a slow burn and had a decent plot added to it as well. I liked how the main characters were more accepting of their fates rather than the typical back and forth and denial of feelings (I can’t stand that in a book less than 100 pages). It had a cute ending and I liked that he brought her family to their planet.
This is what I want out of a short read. Everything wrapped up nicely and explained just right 🩵

Great Read

Megan Landay a recent hire finds herself on a desert retreat with a bunch of strangers. She hoped that she would make some friends, but they just ignored her. While they were all socializing, she steps outside into the cool desert night air and takes a walk. She glances up to see a fiery object hurtling towards her. She takes off running to get out of the way of the crash. The explosion throws her and breaks her arm. Suddenly an ugly alien approaches her an places a glowing object against her belly. It lights up with warmth and disappears into her body. Seconds later, another space ship heads towards her. Just not her day! A tall, well-muscled, handsome man approaches and places his hand on her belly. She is strangely not offended. The pain in her arm and other injuries from the first crash took their toll, she faints.
She wakes up in a strange room on a strange bed being attended by both the handsome man and another alien, this one appears to be a medic. He gives her something for the pain, and the large handsome alien picks her up and carries her to his chambers.
She finds out his name is Mikaal Ahrisi, King of Omaron. Mikaal has many serious issues to take care of and did not need another one. The theft of his essence. from a locked vault was not the work of just one man. The medic says that any attempt to separate his child from the inferior human woman would most likely result in the death of both of them. She will need to stay until his heir is born. His half-sister Suri must have her own fast sources of information, because she soon appears letting him know how pleased she is that this has tweaked the nose of her mother. She would love for her brother to marry the human and make her his queen. Her mother wants the human killed and a new essence locked in the vault. Mikaal has no intention of ever getting married. The human will bear his heir.
They do not get along to well at first, nor the second or third day.... He keeps calling her 'human'. She does not treat him with the deference due his royal status, her clothes are inappropriate for pregnancy, she is rude and bossy. She thinks he is arrogant, bossy, controlling, and yummy to look at. She wants to go home, NOW!
He informs her that she will stay until the baby is born, then she may leave. When she learns that a pregnancy lasts 6 months, she is upset, but figures it could be worse, until she learns that one day on Omaron is the equivalent to 3 Earth days. That makes for an 18 month pregnancy. NO WAY! Send me home, now! Go find your perfect woman and impregnate her. They continue to trade barbs as they begin to get to know and even respect and like each other. Like turns to love, and we get our HEA after catching the evil culprits. Loved this short story. Each of Juno Wells stories have a unique take on what could be a repetitious oft read story. Juno never seems to run out of wonderful stories. I've read quite a few and will continue to read her varied works. WELL DONE!!

This isn't the first book I have read by Juno Wells. However, it is my first book by Shea Malloy. I picked the book to read because I love the work of Juno Wells!!!! The two of them have written an AWESOME alien romance. I love how there was a story line that you didn't expect the king of an alien planet to find a woman on earth carrying his life force (baby). The whole new way of conception without sex was pure genius. The characters weave into the story line like they are meant to in order to understand them. My attention was grabbed at the beginning and held till the end. I definitely recommend this book to anyone wanting to read a alien love story with a twist. This is a book that I would have given more than 5 stars if possible.

Interesting conception of a story
And a child! I was very surprised in the way Megan found herself pregnant with Mikaal's child & I am still curious how exactly that works with the Dava! Lol
Otherwise Megan stays true to herself even as she struggles to find her place in & on Mikasl's world. Mikaal, on the other hand, grows as a man & ruler as he begins to see past himself and his vision for his orderly, kingly existence.
This book is the first but definitely not last read of this new author to me. After her gorgeous violet-eyes aliens, we got some Dragons!!

Alien abduction with a little twist. Being pregnant with his child (through no fault of either party) gives the hero a reason to capture and retain Megan. This does away with many of the standard objections that a heroine usually has and sets up an interesting situation. This is not an insta-love, fated mates type of story--although the attraction is immediate on both parts. I found Megan's feelings about her pregnancy interesting and realistic. For a romance, not everything is romanticized. The suspense element was negligible and fairly weak, just there to pad out the story. Megan is a feisty, plain-spoken heroine. Mikkel is a real alpha with a tendency to "steamroll" (Megan's word) over any objections or feelings that she has at first. Learning to deal with each other and to address their desire for each other takes time. I thought the epilogue was a little neat and cheesy but will be appreciated by many for the ultimate HEA effect. Like other Juno Wells titles, this is an entertaining read when something lightweight and simple is called for.

This is a pretty good sci-fi romance. It seems like it is in the future. In the first book Earth seems to be a backwater planet but in the second it is part of a galactic empire. There are ships and aliens and several planets. I liked the heroines and heroes and the sexual tension was well developed in both stories. In both, the end seemed to come sort of abruptly, especially the second story, but both have a happy ever after that is satisfying. The first story even has a fun epilogue.

The concept behind the story was interesting, and I really enjoyed the world, and the characters. The sexual tension between the two leads could be cut with a knife. The downside to the story was the suspense aspect was lackluster, and I would have liked the climax drawn out.
With that I am rating the story 3 boundless stars, “it was good and I enjoyed it.”

This was pretty good and I had a 'hunch'. I liked the sci-fi feel and imagination. Plenty of creativity and world building. Sweet, strong, and great characters. I'd like to get to know more and check out anything else this author has written. Good for passing time, the lazy-day read, or just to escape for a while. Enjoy

A funny, sexy love story with a bit of sass
I found Megan, the heroine to be a breath of fresh air, because the last few books I have read those women were either major witches with a B, or too stupid to live and couldn't find there way out of a paper bag without a man's help.
Anywho, I liked it enough to buy the next book. Because this secondary character piqued my interest.

A short novella. It was ok, but I felt a little disappointed with the world building, or lack thereof. Plus, there are alot of Earth-y elements in there that didn't quite make it feel like a sci-fi alien world.
