At 6' 2", Kel McCoy has never been entirely invisible, but *Tree in Wind* ballet roles seemed to be her destiny; the Sugar Plum Fairy always went to someone…daintier. Then she and her father move to Austin, Texas, where everything is the changes they must now make in their lives, her family, and even the boys. THE boy. Drew Jarrod is the embodiment of every dandelion blowing and shooting star wish Kel has ever made. Love may have eluded her in the past but now she can look it squarely in the eye. And you should never underestimate the heady intoxication of lip proximity when it comes to standing next to the man of your dreams. When she is asked to step in as a last minute replacement for a local fashion show and then signed by a modeling agency, Kel discovers attention comes with a price. And in a world that thrives on promotion, who you are is currency. But what if you’re still trying to figure that out?

Did it end?

Full disclosure: I know the author and think she is one of the most awesome people I've ever met. Now, on to the review!I

I wasn't sure what to expect going in to this novel, but I was quickly drawn in to the story. I think anyone who has experienced loss is anxious to find out how another's grief and loss shapes their thinking and experience. I felt there was just enough sweet remembrance to guide Kel without making her, or me, miserable. I loved the family aspect of the story and that it showed that family should always come first and they will be the way to move forward in life. I sadly realize that not all families are this way, but I appreciate stories where this is a theme. I also appreciated that there was no graphic sex, language, or violence.

Randi's writing style took me a couple of chapters to get into. At the beginning, I felt there so many descriptive words in a sentence that the sentence would never end! But, as with most books, I soon settled in to the rhythm and this made for a light, breezy read that I very much enjoyed. My only complaint is that I'm not as good with my imagination as, perhaps, others are, and I wanted more endings. Or, maybe my imagination goes too far. Does she get with Jack when she goes to school? Does she outgrow Drew and does Ava finally get her man? What about her dad? I sometimes criticize books that wrap everything up too nicely and predictable, so maybe it's just me! I know how I want things to turn out, but I'll have to ponder each character's overall life experience to believe my own happy endings.

All in all, good job, Randi! I hope to have the opportunity to read another novel of yours soon!

Model Behavior is a sweet story written with wit and a vibrant voice.
We meet Kel as she and her father prepare to leave Chicago in the wake of her mother's death. Returning to his hometown in Texas they set out to heal and rebuild their lives among family.
It's not long before Kel meets Drew, a handsome guitarist who rivals her 6'2" height and melts her heart straight away.
I loved watching Kel in her new life, her large and loving family and her never ending well of energy.
When she gets swept up in the world of modeling she not only discovers strength in herself but how to walk proud in more ways than one.
This is a year-in-the-life tale. A coming of age as Kel finishes her last year of high school, finds love, reconnects with family and discovers the future calling her may not be the path she is on.
The writing is sharp, with voice for miles. I loved the dialogue and the easy nature of Kel and her large boisterous family.
Well written, and heartwarming, I would recommend it highly!

Great

Ms Rigby sets a fast paced book. You get sucked right in and don't come up for air until the book ends.

Kel's story wasn't quite what I thought it was going to be. I kept trying to predict it and figure it out, but I didn't. Her story was definitely one of self discovery.

I will say, I didn't care for the almost love triangle. Drew was an incredibly trusting guy. And Kel said she only wanted Drew. But she and Jack crossed a few lines, and that never resolved. (I guess ignoring it was resolving it.)

Also the ending was kind of abrupt. I felt like there were many things left unsaid. And definitely an epilogue was in order.

I did take off one star though because there were too many characters. The McCoys are a large bunch. And it felt impossible to keep track of everyone when they got together.

On a more technical note, the scene changes could be more obvious, or marked, so the story flowed.

Overall, Ms Rigby is a new to me author. I loved her two books so far. I look forward to more from her.

Seemed rather unrealistic to let a senior in high school go jetting around the country and even the world with a 20-something year old guy in the modeling business. Didn't care for that. Really liked Drew, but by the end of it didn't care much for Kel, or the way the story felt like it was left hanging.

I really enjoyed this wholesome story of a young woman's life. It was well written and interesting, not overly prosy, nor too concise, and was definitely a feel-good read. Hopefully there will be a sequel taking us through the next chapter in her life.

Great story with good messages for today’s world

Kel is a young woman dealing with a lot of challenges. Her good attitude and hard working approach to life help her learn from experience and find the right path for her. Fun read with enjoyable characters.

My friend reviewed this book and told me to read it because I am a model. I couldn’t even finish it. I was extremely bored, but if you are under the age of 14 I feel like you could enjoy this book for me. I just couldn’t get into it.
