Ivy is an Electrical engineer by profession. She started writing fanfiction in her spare time and after a whole year of writing, she decided to start writing an original series with her own characters and has never looked back.
Although, work and tight deadlines often have her drinking coffee, she is a tea-lover at heart. She loves to read, but keeps taking trips to Hogwarts now and then. (Who could miss JKR's lovely invitation?) Her favorite current TV shows are Game of Thrones and Pretty Little Liars.
The end fizzled. However, that's pretty on point for an overall lack luster story. Let me just make a short list of things to quibble about: 1. The Queen--one of the biggest villains just breaks down and spills all her secrets and then is not punished and everything is fine. --WTH 2.Origins--One of the biggest questions in the first book was about Moira's origins. Apparently it's not just super easy to find out. Let's take a 20 minute trip to the human world and look at some memories. And only the good guys can figure out to do this. Its like this thought never even occurred to the bad guys. But the bad guys are presented as evil masterminds. Makes no sense. 3. Isla--The supposed best friend. Nothing she says or does seems like best friend material. Their talks always comes across as Isla being rude, short or exasperated. Where is the emotional support. Also you really didn't even need her in the story beyond a way to find out about Moira's past. She is a lame duck character. 4. The King--What kind of king (who has ruled for centuries and is supposed to be a great ruler) is so crippled by guilt that he just stops ruling, pays not attention to his other wives, allows corruption to grow, allows his sons to be pitted against one another, and then is all of a sudden fine and is able to take of the 'punishment' of the queen. He is a throwaway character. Really he could have been dead and the story would have been no different.
There is more to talk about, but I will leave it there. Not a good story. I'm bored and disappointed. But at least I finished it.
