Y'know...understanding the reason for your existence, learning the ultimate truth of the world, and attaining godhood would give most people a lot to think about. But me? I've got better things to do, like making mini-spider clones! Look at this one isn't she precious?! There's a LOT more where she came from, and I've sent them all over the world to act as my eyes and ears. I bet the Demon Lord will find the info I've gathered super useful for dealing with the impending demonic rebellion. Oh, did I not mention that before...? 'Cause that's totally a thing
Lowkey this was the worst one, I’m writting this after having finished like a couple months ago but pretty sure this is the one just from the former hero’s (aka Shun’s dead brother) perspective and about his life. Kinda drags on a bit and a snooze fest compared to the action packed (kinda) rest of the series.
"No matter what anyone says, I won’t accept any ending that doesn’t leave the Demon Lord smiling."
White making her entire goal to help Ariel/Demon Lord and gives her a happy ending is so...... very sapphic of her. Literally the best part of this volume is White freely talking with Ariel but still to shy to talk with anyone else. I kinda even ship them now, although it literally has no chance of happening.
Honestly though, the worldbuilding is still confusing to me. I still don't really understand their 'solution' to saving the world. I guess it doesn't matter though because this type of series never have any good technical writing or worldbuilding. I mean the repetition in the writing itself will usually made me give a book only 1 star, but this type of series also always have a fun plot or MC or even writing style so I'm giving it more leeway.
*3.5

I can say, without question, that this is the best Volume so far. And I’m not saying that just because it’s the latest one. There are so many revelations, personal and plot-related, that you risk getting whiplash. THe further along we get, the more the stories from earlier in the series start to connect like a complex spider web.
See what I did there?
In all seriousness, this is probably the most serious of the Volumes so far. There’s so much death and destruction happening here, it’s hard to recommend this to younger readers; I guess I’m not one to talk, seeing as I grew up reading Stephen King and watching horror movies. Still, I can’t sing Okina Baba and Kiryu Tsukasa’s praises enough. The art never ceases to amaze me and works to heighten the already engaging and entertaining story. A partnership running on all cylinders.
While this installment is definitely one of the darkest, if not the darkest so far, there is enough humor to give off small rays of light. We get to see the reasoning behind some of the more dastardly deeds performed, and yet, you can’t help but feel for a lot of the characters even as they’re performing said deeds. While we’ve yet to catch up to the human stories earlier in the series, the journey there is such a great one. It actually has me thinking about going back to read the earlier “S” stories to experience them with more background. I’ll probably hold off on that for now.
With this installment we got betrayals, alliances and character development I didn’t think would actually happen. The stakes are higher than ever, the the real reason for the war is revealed, and we get to learn a bit more about D and the gods. This series constantly surprises me, and I’m eagerly awaiting what happens in the next Volume.
4 Stars This is the current installment when I'm writing this. I didn't expect to get hooked that strongly. I was just skimming the pages if I'd like it because of the anime adaptation but I really did. It's a story of a class in a school getting killed for some cosmic reason and getting reincarnated in a different world. The main character of the story, Shiraori or commonly called as 'White' is revealed to be a spider instead of a human. The characters are very interesting and the plot is decent. I really love--as a reviewer and a reader--the execution of how White climbs up the foodweb. The concepts of the series is really good and I just kept reading from beginning to end--that's why I'm not writing a review for every volume. In this particular volume, the story revolves around White being proactive in the world-events. She somehow found out about a plot to overthrow the demon king so she pulled some strings to stop that. She's becoming really strong again and at the end, she talked about her role as a new goddess. She'd been also really start talking to people, especially the demon king. I think her character's becoming really well-developed. What I didn't really like though is how everything seemed to keep dragging on and sometimes the narration becomes really redundant but over all the story is becoming even better. I really love this book. It's promising but I feel like it could still be better in other aspects. It's a really good series. I highly recommend this for everyone, especially for those who really like Isekai and fantasy stories.
I don't usually ship characters. It's been amazing reading about Sheori/Wakaba/White growing into the confident goddess(Mwah ha ha haa!) with unbreakable conviction she was always meant to be. Yea, I think the translation got it wrong it's a dramatic evil laugh, or a haughty cackle. Godhood is something to laugh derisively about.
The Demon Lord's backstory at the very end was a revelation! It really is true, how the difference between a hero and a villain is that a villain (Demon Lord in this case) would sacrifice the world to save their loved ones
De los mejores volúmenes... La última parte de la historia me dejó con ganas de saber más del pasado del Señor Demonio, también cuando Shiro llega a la resolución de que hará lo que sea por salvarla incluso convertirse en un dios malvado fue de mis partes favoritas.

Another double digit volumes novel. The story was good, though the story begun to engage in "politic". It's rather boring now, it's not like the first 4 volumes where thrill and survival genre was thick.
Now we get to see more of the internal politics of the Demon Lord's side. Exciting, exciting. Not to mention watching the growing bonds between the characters and slowly seeing why they took the decisions we know they did in the current day.
A genuine pearl of the Genre! Great fun to read! Plot complexity: 5* Suspense & Plot twists: 5* Consistency: 4* Humor: 4* Character depth: 4* Literary aesthetics: 2* Literary depth: 1*
Takes on a far darker tone than the last few volumes. A significant character focus here with Wrath, Mera and Ariel having great moments in particular. Perhaps my favourite volume thusfar.
The writing for this series is genius level for sure! Really looking forward to reading more, especially wanna read what happens when Oka and White meet and talk for the first time
