As she quickly learns, navigating through who she was and who she wants to be has its’ share of humps along the way but she is thriving in her new life. The only predicament standing in her way, is the dark cloud looming over her head brought on by an action so reckless it could have deadly consequences. Thankfully it’s a secret well-hidden and one she will keep forever.

As a recently departed member of the notorious East MC, Roman “Hades” Monroe has settled into life as a member of the Ghosttown Riders. Their interactions and relationship have been nothing less than heated and hostile with an underlining desire, neither one has been willing to admit to. Until circumstances risk her safety. When Vada hits the radar of the notorious East MC, she becomes a key player and possible pawn in what could be Hades biggest downfall. It becomes a battle of his future with Vada versus his past with the East MC.

Amelia Shea writes contemporary romance. She released her debut novel in 2015, and has followed her passion for series romance ever since. Her writing style includes a little sweet, a little sassy and lots of steam. She loves building stories with settings that become comfortable and familiar, and developing characters who feel real, and though they may be flawed, they learn and grow, and finally deserve a happy ending. When she is not writing, she is obsessed with reading (all genres although she does has a soft spot for romance), coffee (it's more of an addiction but she prefers obsession) and perfecting her "y'all" (just a northern girl living in the south).

Quick(ish) Review

Review - Ghosttown Riders by Amelia Shea

Series Thoughts: Damn. I'm surprised at how much I got sucked into this crackilicious series. I mean, I hate the way it starts (more on that later), but emotionally this sucked me right in and even made me like some of these guys that I thought I'd never like (yes I'm looking at you Kase). What I loved is the characters. Especially the way this deals with every day life - there's a character with dementia, whose journey and final moments actually made me cry. There's alot of the aftermath of moving on from grief, that was touching and really hooked me into tearing through this 8 book series like a toddler through a lego set. I was all into it.

This is in line with most MC romances - there's violence, physical and attempted sexual assault, murder, multiple kidnappings. This is a series of bikers trying to get out of the life and move to Ghosttown, population 45. Each couple is settling in a town where literally you know everyone else, so there's no diversity and while there's interactions with the residents of Ghosttown, it's mostly biker centric. The series is also in line with Ghosttown East - around 3 or 4 on the WTFery scale.

The main reason I'm rating this series lower, however, is the editing - missing, misspelled words, and continuity questions really hurt the narrative, which is pretty damn good. But when I'm pulled out of the moment because I'm trying to figure out what you meant to write, not what's on the page, it's a problem.

So with that said, let's focus on the individual books:

The Outlaw: Vada and Hades. I'm a sucker for the long suffering heroine, and Vada fits the bill. Hades is the man of few words (aren't they all?) and while he starts off being a jerk to Vada in the previous book, this is where he puts her first and it redeemed him for me. Plus the overarching storyline and the real intro to the East men was good. And reminded me why I hate Con, my least fave from the East series (he's still the worst fyi). 4*

This book!

Story: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Trope: opposites attract
Angst: 😱😱😱
Smexy: 🔥🔥1\2

There are just certain books in a series that you anticipate more than others. The Outlaw was mine and it did 👏🏼 not 👏🏼let 👏🏼 me 👏🏼down!!! Ugh! Absolutely fracking loved it from beginning to end. The burn on this one was a little slower, but the build up was 🔥🔥. The story had me white-knuckling my kindle to the end. By far my favorite characters and was also a great intro to what's coming (and who) down the pike for the next series. I know this is an older book, but still going in this years faves pile!

Vada Zink quickly becomes enemy #1 in Ghosttown when she shows up to try to talk the town into a development options that her family is pushing for. They do not know that this is the first time that Vada has spread been able to spread her wings and although she is treated like a pariah she stays in town. She has made one friend who has her back and is liking her new life without her family. Then she meets Roman "Hades" Monroe, his hate for her radiates from him though even though she is as sweet as can be.

After Vada is attacked, she is not aware that Hades is keeping an eye on her. He keeps her distance but when he moves to Ghosttown and needs someone to spend time with his daughter when he can't, he asks Vada. There is only so much control a man has with a woman he desires and the more he gets to know Vada the more he wants her. Can he build something with the timid Vada and when he finds out she has been keeping a secret can he keep her safe?

Amazing, love Vada's story. I had been curious about Hades for a while and Vada with Hades is one of the best couples. Vada is a delightful surprise. Wonderful book.

I've been looking forward to this one, Vada and Hades, they really shouldn't work, but they do.

I really liked that Hades knew what Vada did, but kept it secret and found ways to protect her by hiring her as a nanny for Allie, until school started. You could see all the ways that this could go wrong, but surprisingly it didn't, there were a few bumps, but those issues were fixed quickly.

The big issue of the book came from East hanging around, with some of them always talking to Vada, to making Hades wonder....what did they know and what would they do if they did know. Things really didn't look good at the end, I really thought there was going to be lots of blood and dead bodies and while there were, the right people ended up dead and Vada now has a pretty loyal following within East. I also love how Hades got to know how much Vada had his back, something he needed. And what did Vada get out of everything...people that accept her and will have her back.

Reread 8/22/24- bumping it up a star since I really like this couple

Must be a brother thing because Hades is right up there with Saint. Hades is equal parts scary motherf*cker and devoted family man. I loved that his daughter and Vada always came before the club, you dont get that a lot in MC books. Kace wasn't nearly as bad in this one either.

I do think Vada forgave Gunner, Roan, and Blade too easily after the crap they pulled....or maybe I just feel that way because they gained her forgiveness off page. It's still a solid read, though, and Im glad I decided to continue the series after the trainwreck that the first book was.

I really enjoyed the story. Predictable but good. The author really needs a good editor \proof readers \ beta readers. Factual errors and grammar errors

Oh yessss Hades!!! I loved him...and he and Vada together were great!

But and I mean a HUGE but...I want EAST!!!

Please someone tell me that Blade, Roan, Gunner, and Tracer are getting their own series. I love the deadly biker with the soft spot for only his lady. That's why I loved Kase and then Saint...but then when I got Hades and then Hades brought his brothers...ohhhh yeahhhhhh.

I don't want the super shady, cheating, drug addled, f-ups...I want the deadly, no shit, hard living (I bet he is rough in a good way in bed) kinda biker.

So...bring on EAST (and Dobbs and Joe can have books too please.)
Enjoy!

I loved this whole series....I just couldn't put it down. I was kind of lucky because I found her Ghosttown Riders books this July so I got all her first to Sixth books right away It was a wonderful read and I only had to wait 2 weeks for the seventh book. But now I want more and there just isn't any. Amelia Shea really knows how to sell a story and keep you interested until the end. You will not be disappointed.

I was worried that Vada would be a doormat but I think she did a good job standing up for herself despite her upbringing. Still cannot believe she was the mastermind behind the set up. I have a feeling her BDSM college friend might turn up at some point down the line.

Hades is like Kase but somehow worse. He doesn't stop seeming hostile for the majority of the first half. He is super cute with his daughter though and I did like when he confronted Kelsey about breaking into his house.

Allie truly saved this book and the relationship, she is an angel.
Overall I'm still engrossed and invested in the world and the stories.
The kidnapping at the end felt kinda unnecessary though.

I love Vada! I love her awkwardness. I was thrilled to see her get her man. Hades was a man kind of trapped between 2 clubs. It had to be challenging.

Overall I just loved this book, but I did have a couple struggles….
1. I would not have forgiven East so readily
2. I really needed to see a payback for what Kelsey did.
Brilliant series!

As a whole, I really enjoyed this story. Sweet h and bad boy, gruff H is one of my favorite tropes. There were just some issues that stopped me from giving it 5 stars:
No conclusion with h’s family relationships—just totally ignored this issue
H’s demeanor changed so drastically, it was like a switch was flipped, and he was almost a perfect boyfriend—where did all the tension go?
No backlash for Kelsey who brought Vada to the East’s place at the end

I did like how the whole issue with the East’s club and Vada were handled at the end. I really didn’t know how the author was going to pull it off—since I know some of those characters are getting books.

Hades and Vada

Loved it. Vada is such a bumbling mess and so sweet with a good heart. She is so oblivious to things but her weakness all stems from childhood upbringing with family that showed no love. I know some reviews people didn't care for her but please read on she stood up to protect the ones she loves. Hades yes was broody towards her but there was a reason for it just like all the others in this series. Yes Kase is still a a-hole lol said this in all my reviews and didn't like Vada but Kase don't like anybody however she actually grew on him and he really wanted to protect her and stood up for her against the other MC when her and Trista were hurt. Looking forward to Trini and Roan.

Another great read

This series is so addictive! I love stepping into the world of the Ghosttown Riders MC, and seeing what trouble the ladies in their life’s can bring them. Hades and Vada were a great couple to get to know, the ups and downs they went through certainly kept me turning the pages.

I love the way the author weaves storylines, and introduces new characters. I can’t believe I am almost at the end of this series, but am happy knowing that there is a Ghosttown Riders MC East.

Now it’s time for Dobbs to dazzle!

Such a great couple Hades and Vada

Again, I am reading the series and enjoying all the characters. Hades is INE of my favorites. I wanted to read and know more about Hades and his brother Saint. They are just so strong and mysterious. Hades almost lost Vada by pushing her away before they could even start. Then he found out Vada was in danger and Hades had to scramble to find ways to save her. Vada is the best. She is so smart and kind, but timid, yet it works out for her. Read On!

Hades/Roman and Vada

It was great to see Vada come out of her shyness and getting walked on by not only her family, but others as well. And whenever she met someone and her automatic response was to do a hand shake was hilarious at times. She suffered worse when her and Trista were attacked, but she is a sly one and not to be underestimated. Hades acted as a grouch around her just to hide his true feelings. Allie is a total doll. A few twist and turns but I'm going to let you read for yourselves. Happy reading.

Love Hades and Vada

Vada was bullied by many in her life. When she finally begins to fit in things happen she doesn’t expect. Hades has had his eyes on her from the beginning. Not knowing how to take his obsession he comes a cross as constantly mad at her. She gives in and finds her happiness and with that the love of a gruff loving single dad. Hades has been a favorite throughout this series. He deserved happiness.

another winner

I am addicted to the GT/GTE series. Characters are different and storyline is different in each book, not a xopy/paste as some authors do. Each book can be a stand alone but trust me you want to read them all. Now with this said each book has editing issues which disappoints me which is why the 4 stars. The part about Kelsey is left hanging. What happened after she took part in the kidnapping of Vada?

Who knew Vada could be stubborn?

Vada and Hades are so different. Vada being so quiet and carrying the victim card so well. Hard Hades only softens around his little girl. Magnets are what they are. Vada grows a serious set as the story goes on and you start to see a little softer Hades. Great story.
Dobbs and Roan need stories now.

GREAT!!!!

I started book one and binged read the whole series. I think The Outlaw is my favorite. Hades was off the charts hot and Vada was so soft, shy, and loving but wIth a surprising backbone of steel. Loved the series and will be adding Amelia Shae to my favorites list of authors.

Loved it

An alpha biker and a girl browbeaten by her idiot family…find love amidst two competing MC clubs. Everybody wins or they lose. This romance is a fun read. Yes, there is an event which damages innocents (just skip through it if you think it will be a trigger). True love is found. Family wins. HEA, no cheating, no cliffhanger.

Hades & Vada Effing Zink ❤❤❤

This is the story I have been dying for. Super shy girl and the Aloof super alpha biker. I loved it. The sparks fly with the two and who can resist a super cute 5 year old. I would've love to have Vada's family come into play more in this story, but overall it's still the best book in the series

This was a great book. I love both characters. I know she comes off as shy and awkward but she’s finding her back pain with a good man at her side. I hope we can get a book 8.

I absolutely adored Vada and felt for her so deeply. She deserved her happy ending! Hades is so freaking hot! He was a total ass at first but the dual povs really helps you to forgive him and his flaws haha

The daughter? Absolutely precious!
