Election Tampering and Smuggling in Florida

Finn and Mary accept a mission to find the true identity of an internet influencer. 'Harry Sledge' uses his army of followers to rally voters behind his chosen candidates.

Besides his political efforts, Sledge is manipulating several militias. He's using them to smuggle drugs, arms, and people.

Finn and Mary are soon caught in a power struggle between two factions within Sledge's empire. Will they survive to identify the man behind the Sledge persona?

Devils and Divas is a fast-paced adventure set in south Florida and the Bahamas. There's plenty of action and a plot that reflects current events. Don't start Devils and Divas until you have time to finish it; you won't put it down. Perfect for fans of travel adventure and sea stories.

Welcome aboard!
Charles Dougherty is a lifelong sailor; he's lived what he writes. He and his wife have spent over 30 years sailing together. For 15 years, they lived aboard their boat full-time, cruising the East Coast and the islands. They spent most of that time exploring the Eastern Caribbean. Dougherty is well acquainted with the islands and their people. The characters and locations in his novels reflect his experience.
A storyteller before all else, Dougherty lets his characters speak for themselves. Pick up one of his thrillers and listen to the sound of adventure as you smell the salt air. Enjoy the views of distant horizons and meet some people you won't forget.
Dougherty has written over 25 books. His Bluewater Thrillers are set in the yachting world of the Caribbean and chronicle the adventures of two young women running a luxury charter yacht in a rough-and-tumble environment. The Connie Barrera Thrillers are also set in the Caribbean and feature some of the same characters from a slightly more romantic perspective. Besides the Bluewater Thrillers and the Connie Barrera Thrillers, he wrote The Redemption of Becky Jones, a psycho-thriller, and The Lost Tourist Franchise, a short story about one of the characters from Deception in Savannah.
He has also written two non-fiction books. Life's a Ditch is the story of how he and his wife moved aboard their sailboat, Play Actor, and their adventures along the east coast of the U.S. Dungda de Islan' relates their experiences while cruising the Caribbean.

Devils and Divas (J.R. Finn Sailing Mystery Series, Book 7) by Charles Dougherty and narrated by David Bosco is another great one to the series! Recommend if you’ve been following the story or are looking for great narration! 4 ½ stars for story, 5+ stars for narration.

What’s it about? Finn and Mary’s adventures continue this time on land as they attempt to track down Harry Sledge for their current employer, Phorcys. There is a good amount of action in this one (might be the most in the series- from what I recall), a lot of “who is it” mystery, plotting, bad guys, team work, various adventures, and more. I do miss that sailing aspect but the action makes up for it.

The narrator, David Bosco, once again did a fabulous job! Wonderful character voices, good pace, good emotion, etc. If you haven’t listened to his narrations, I highly recommend giving them a try.

Devils and Divas ranks as one of the best in the series- as I’ve said before, it’s easy to get sucked into these books between the story and narration. One thing’s for sure, Finn and Mary’s adventures are a fun, easy listen!

Parental guidance/trigger warnings: Some violence, death, weapons, drug dealing/smuggling/drug addiction, voter intimidation mention, and other like things (nothing in great details). Finn and Mary are assassins-if you’ve made it this far in the book, you should have a general idea of what happens in the books. Language used: Sx18, Fu Manchu mentioned once when describing a mustache.

This is the seventh book I have read/listened to by this author (all have been in this series) and I would definitely listen to another. I only received this audiobook yesterday and could not resist listening to it straight away. I even put it ahead of a couple other books I received first. I don’t know what it is about this series! This is not a typical book I tend to listen to. That is not to say I have never listened to similar books, I have listen to the Jason Bourne series, but this one does not have a whole lot of action or a fast-moving pace. I think that is part why I am really drawn to this series. I like the methodical intrigue, the constant guessing to the truth of the matter, the characters skill and know how instead of Rambo style attack. I cannot wait for the next book and I know I will be disappointed when the series ends.———

This is the twelfth book I have listened to by this narrator ( David Bosco ). Just as Ian McKellen is Gandolf, David Bosco is Finn. He does a wonderful job performing these books. I have gotten lost in every one of them.———

There are no explicit sex scenes, excessive / overly descriptive violence, there is occasional swearing. ———

Excellent!

As always this adventure didn't disappoint. As a big fan of all of Bud's books, one of the main attractions is that you can never guess ahead as to what will happen next. My only disappointment with him is that he can't write fast enough! I can't wait for his next adventure!

I love this series. Finn and Mart are two of my favorite characters from this genre. Anyone who likes mystery, spies, sailing, murders, and really smart characters will love this too.
David Bosco is a brilliant narrator. I can’t imagine anyone else voicing Finn. He is amazing!

Exciting adventure

Another exciting adventure with Finn and Mary. They’re working on a nest of bad guys and have to slowly put the puzzling leads together to finish their mission.

I was provided this audiobook for free. I am voluntarily posting this review and any opinions contained herein are my own.

I am really enjoying this series. It has two smart main characters, who happen to be assassins and work with a high-tech team. Lots of action, twists, and lots of fun.

Each book in this series is narrated by David Bosco - and I can't imagine anyone else doing this series justice.

The Devil Is In The Details

And there are just too many details in leading readers through phone conversations and interrogations. Tedious to follow page after long page. First book in this series without a lot of maritime scenes — perhaps why the reading was not smooth sailing.

Complex, yet riveting mystery.

Once again, the professional assassins take down multiple bad guy operations. Gets dicey for a while, but revenge is sweet. A darn good book.
