Devils and Divas (J.R. Finn Sailing Mystery Series, Book 7) by Charles Dougherty and narrated by David Bosco is another great one to the series! Recommend if you’ve been following the story or are looking for great narration! 4 ½ stars for story, 5+ stars for narration.
What’s it about? Finn and Mary’s adventures continue this time on land as they attempt to track down Harry Sledge for their current employer, Phorcys. There is a good amount of action in this one (might be the most in the series- from what I recall), a lot of “who is it” mystery, plotting, bad guys, team work, various adventures, and more. I do miss that sailing aspect but the action makes up for it.
The narrator, David Bosco, once again did a fabulous job! Wonderful character voices, good pace, good emotion, etc. If you haven’t listened to his narrations, I highly recommend giving them a try.
Devils and Divas ranks as one of the best in the series- as I’ve said before, it’s easy to get sucked into these books between the story and narration. One thing’s for sure, Finn and Mary’s adventures are a fun, easy listen!
Parental guidance/trigger warnings: Some violence, death, weapons, drug dealing/smuggling/drug addiction, voter intimidation mention, and other like things (nothing in great details). Finn and Mary are assassins-if you’ve made it this far in the book, you should have a general idea of what happens in the books. Language used: Sx18, Fu Manchu mentioned once when describing a mustache.
