Post-Valentine High: A state of euphoria experienced by cupids. This state typically occurs in late February, but extreme cases can persist into March.
One euphoric cupid in March is bad enough, but three? And when they band together, no good can come of it.
But…murder?
Mallory’s been hired by a surprising client to prove that while these three cupids might have committed a caper or two, they weren’t up for murder.

I'm jonesing pretty hard for the next book. And I've literally just finished this one... Update: 19-12-21: still jonesing... Update: 1-4-22: still jonesing... but only 8 days to wait!
How great to be reunited with Mallory, Alex & even surly Anton! I've missed The Vegan Vamp series. Her chance to live a new life as a vampire, albeit with an aversion to blood, has lead to some interesting character developments for Mallory. She's honing her sleuthing skills with boyfriend/lead enforcer for the Society, a quasi-justice arm of the enhanced community. At least she was until domineering Cornelius puts her on timeout, refusing to let her work with Alex. Surprisingly, Anton asks her to take a private case. A friend of his, a cupid named Michael was with 2 fellow cupids out celebrating the end of Valentine season by getting passed out drunk. Unfortunately, his also drunks friends left him unconscious on the porch of a witch's house. Too bad she had been murdered & the weapon was found in Michael's hand the next morning. Stymied by her blacklisting & bored to distraction, Mallory takes on the case with just Boone, her amazing bloodhound, & the now sober & cleared Michael. Mallory learns cupidry is far from a cute cherub with wings & a bow but some serious magic. But who has been looking for love in all the wrong places? Thanks to Cate Lawley for bringing Mallory back for this different change of pace but nonetheless thoroughly enjoyable read.plus another one to come. Think I'll go back to the beginning of the series & sink my teeth in them again.
Happy to have another Vegan Vamp installment, but this story seemed a bit shorter than earlier ones. I really missed Wembley who did not appear at all, and Alex only popped in at the end. Loved how much Boone starred in this one and enjoyed the cameo by Star. I also missed Tangwystl's 'stabby stabby' asides, but there are interesting hints about potential resurrection - yes please! Also happy Bradley has a budding romance with a very interesting new character - looking forward to seeing where this romance goes. More please...
The best part about this book. It was shorter than the rest in the series. While it wasn’t a terrible read, I hated that Alex was barely involved at all in the investigation. I already don’t like Mallory very much, so the other characters of the series are vital for me to enjoy the book. I did like Michael, and I loved the chemistry between Bradley and Michael. It was brief but honestly so cute. The mystery was interesting but I think it was obvious that it was a Cupid that committed the murders.

Mallory is such a great character, one of my favorites and I love reading each new book. This time, Cupid needs help, Mallory has been cut out of investigating and she’s at loose ends. It was excellent as always but I did miss her being with Alex the whole book.
Having been ostensibly side lined by Cornelius Mallory is bored and lonely. A case falls into her lap and she enlists, over time, most of her friends and solves the case.
I do like these books but i think they drag events out a little to long. SPOILER it took 5 books for her and Alex to get together. I would love another short story of maybe A day in the life of Alex or perhaps a day trip they take together outside of work with Boone.
This was more a solo effort by Mallory, but she did manage to get some help. She tracked down a mass murderer and mourned her comatose sword. Typos: missing word ("He charmed Mandy into him information"), laid for lay, and wrong character name used ("[Ross said} you won't be able to reach Ross.").
I hope this series never ends! The characters are great, so are the storylines, and the humour is just right. I highly recommend these novels for all ages.
I love the author's unique writing style and to watch the beautiful tale that she has woven through the series unfold has been wonderful. I wish the books were longer, because I want more quality content. The protagonist is so unique and unlike other paranormals in cozy mysteries. And this series definitely gives me the warm fuzzies. Would highly recommend.
I love the Vegan Vamp Series but for some reason this one was kind of a let down. It lacked humour, the mystery was too fast and straightforward (I don't have it in me to dig up the previous installments to check but it felt even shorter than usual), and somehow the fact that she was sharing everything with Alex while he shared nada really annoyed me 😅
This one seemed a bit shorter than the rest of the series. Just as good though! The end made me groan because now I know I have to wait patiently for a year for the next one. But wait I will, because I love this series!
