Daughtry Forrester has a good life. He loves his club, his family, and working on custom builds. What he doesn’t love is the pressure the women in his life have put on him to hire a female mechanic. While trying to juggle health problems and a camera crew who’s always underfoot, Daughtry doesn’t put much faith in his new hire. Sure that she won’t fit in or be able to keep up, he’s confident that the woman he’s hired will pack up her tools and run away crying as soon as she messes up her manicure. That will take at least one problem off his plate and he’ll finally be able to tell the meddling women in his life, “I told you so!”

Jamie Evans has been working in a shop since she was big enough to hold a wrench. Her passion is restoring cars and motorcycles to an even better version of their former glory. Not a stranger to life in a garage, she’s dealt with her fair share of people who don’t think she can pull her weight. What they don’t realize is that she has already left most of them in her dust with the strides she’s made in her profession. Not one to advertise her accomplishments, she walks into the garage with a clean slate as just another unknown, albeit female, mechanic.

When Daughtry and Jamie meet, the fireworks start and it’s going to take dedication for them to keep that spark alive so they can make it to their own grand finale - a life together.

Polka Dot and Firecracker.....

Floved this book so hard.
Love a strong female character, and Jamie was strong.
Hot AF sex scenes, hot Alpha male biker, beard, tattoos, a Harley yummy, and a quick storyline.
We even get a little angst and some laugh out loud moments....This author gives a little everything with all her books.
Cee Bowerman is definitely a one-click author for myself.
I highly recommend all her books.
Thanks Jamie Nibarger Ellis

Fuck me, this was an emotional read.
I sobbed like a baby at some of the shit that was going on.
But it was also really fucking sweet.
And I am absolutely 10000% jealous of Jamie’s ‘53 Bel Air. That’s my damn dream car right there.

These two were so freaking cool. And totally perfect together.
Daughtry had a hard time accepting it.
Especially since he was sick, out of his mind.

So much happened in this book.
I’m not gonna say too much more about it though, I don’t want to ruin anything

Definitely check TWs for this one. There’s a lot of health issues that cause major problems for the ones with them and in one case for the people around them.
Thankfully everything gets sorted, and everyone gets the treatment they need in the end to make them better, and able to cope.

I just really fucking love all of these characters. Daughtry and Jamie, and all of the people we meet because of her. And all of the characters from past books. I love seeing more and more into their lives with each new story.

So good.
Just.
Yes.
All of the yes.

I wondered what kind of woman Daughtry would fall for, a woman like Jamie never even crossed my mind, but man...did she fit him. Jamie could do toe to toe with him while talking, out mechanic him any time and still have a bit of a soft side. Things were easy between then, in fact it was messy and at times I wondered if they could work out their issues. With effort and a lot of talking they were finally able to get things settled, a good thing too because Jamie needed the extended family support for help with on of her sons. I really liked the talk that Daughtry and Adam had at the end, it was good on both sides. Nice to see everyone getting to live their lives happy when this one ended.

Cute read with a dash of drama

Story: ⭐⭐⭐⭐
Trope: taboo: boss/employee
Angst: 😱😱😱
Smexy: 🔥🔥

I'll pick up just about any book with a female mechanic MC, but not having read Cee Boardman before, I wasn't sure what to expect. Overall, I really enjoyed it. It was cute, with lots of banter between the two MCs. Surprisingly, it also dealt with some heavy topics as well. Not what I expected given the tone of the first half of the book. I'd definitely pick up another one of her books if the trope was right

Jamie Evans wants a fresh start with her kids and best friend. When she is offered a job as a mechanic at a well known garage she knows it is going to be an uphill battle. Most garages don't want a woman in them but she has talent they don't know about and plans to prove herself through hard work and talent. What she doesn't expect is Daughtry Forrester her boss and neighbor. She had no clue he was her neighbor until the day she arrives on the job and he is not a happy camper.

Daughtry can't wrap his head around Jamie, he thinks one thing about her and then she proves him wrong. They sizzle when they are together but is he ready to admit his true feelings for her and she has a complicated life right now he is not sure she needs the extra complication but what will happen when he is faced with losing her?

This was terrific, one of the best in the series so far. Daughtry is a bit more of a puzzle to figure out and there is a ton that goes on with his character that was a surprise. The other thing about this story is that Jamie and her kids have struggles that are relatable. I was not sure where the story would lead so was constantly surprised. Terrific read.

One buy one the brother drop like flies. Three down one to go.
I lived this one. It was different than the other and it wasn't your typical story either.
I love the boys and now I'm going to go read the next book.

This was a good book but a lot of hard to follow family connections/relationships/dynamics to figure out and keep track of in the beginning.

I liked the characters and the story and the writing. I would read more from this author.

I love this series and was waiting for Daughtry 's story.
Sadly for me, he and Jamie had no chemistry. Maybe with a little less of everyone else and more of them.... I don't know, it felt like their story came to short. Like they were f***buddies one minute and the next engaged.

Good lead characters. I liked that this was so very health issue drive... be it physical or mental.

Just realised that I am skim reading the sex scenes in all of the books... once you read a couple, you've read 'em all...

What happens when ur 1 night stand turns into ur new employee?

I do NOT consider it to be a STAND-ALONE read. Cee Bowerman authors multiple series set within Rojo, Texas and they are intertwined. There is a correct reading order and it can be found on her website (ceebowermanbooks.com). These really do need to be read in that order for maximum reader satisfaction and to prevent spoilers as there are multiple reoccurring characters, details that cannot be adequately recapped within the scope of another story that contributes to the story universe (world building), with past and concurrent timelines and overarching themes.

** There are some scenes that will be a trigger for sensitive readers. I have included examples below. Also, if you have not read the previous story in this series, the following may contain SPOILERS **

Another great story in Rojo, Texas! Daughtry was really an unknown to me, even though he has been in basically all of the previous stories. He is known as the most calm of the brothers, but it opens with some of the recent health issues Daughtry is experiencing. This includes excessive thirst, weight loss, dizziness and pain throughout his body.

Jamie is the single mother to three boys after their father was killed while serving overseas in the military. She is not the biological parent, but she has been the one constant they have had for the last 5 or so years. Their bio mother travels and never really wanted kids, so she is happy to support Jamie from afar. Jamie was raised by her grandparents while her father raised her brothers in Rojo. After the death of her boyfriend, she decided to move her family to be closer to her family.

She has been hired to work at the garage the Kings own and Daughtry runs. Jamie is aware that Daughtry didn’t want to hire a female and that he did so under duress. She wanted to let her work speak for itself, so when Jamie sent her information, she chose not to include the awards she has won for her custom built cars and motorcycles under a pseudonym.

Daughtry didn’t want to hire a female mechanic, but eventually he caved to the pressure from some of the old ladies and his mama, Martha. Even though the woman he hired had excellent references, he expects her to moan and complain about getting grease on her hands, etc.

What Daughtry doesn’t expect is that the female he hired is his new neighbor. The same one that yelled at him the week before when she thought his brother’s dogs were going to eat two of her boys. The same one that he had the best night ever after she came over to apologize … oh, boy.

One last note before I wrap this part up for readers not sure about the genre … the MC genre contains several different branches from sweet to outlaw to one percenters. While the Texas Knights MC is in the middle imo, the Texas Kings MC is more of the outlaw variety. Both focus on love, brotherhood, families and support, but the Texas Kings also bring vengeance to the table.

⛔️ The interwoven SERIES contains references to, or scenes detailing, subject matter that may be a trigger or offensive to some, including, but not limited to: adult language; derogatory terms; mental health challenges; steamy adult intimate scenes with dominance, submission, (play) spanking for pleasure, restraints, “bottom” play, breath play, sensory deprivation, voyeurism, exhibitionism, etc.; violence such as kidnapping, abduction, murder, death, torture, assault, fighting, alcoholism, betrayal, coercion, blackmail, rape, attempted rape, stalking, threats, subterfuge, money laundering, cheating, prostitution, human trafficking, mafia / cartels, arson, drug use, drug addiction, drug manufacturing, drug distribution, as well as the mental, physical and sexual abuse of females and/or children, polygamy, etc.

** Caution: The series contains scenes with reference to, or detailed graphic violence against females and children that fit into the storyline, but may be a trigger for some **

There are a few grammatical issues in this story, mainly typos, incorrect words and incorrect punctuation. I highlighted a few of the errors and uploaded them to Goodreads.com for anyone interested. I am mentioning these issues for readers such as myself that visualize the story as it is read, because errors interrupt the flow.

I really liked this book. Both characters were well-developed and the conflict was handled really well. I was also really pleased with how well Daughtry's diabetes was handled, especially the primary scene when he reacted badly to Jamie. From personal experience I can say I've felt a lot of the same things as Jamie when my loved one was having high sugars.

I think Jamie's freakout after his blood sugar experience and Kale's reaction was a bit much but also really well done. She seemed a fairly intelligent and strong woman - I would have thought she could recognize the signs of PTSD (Kale) and her experiences with her friend should have let her know that diabetes was a large part of Daughtry's reaction.

That said, her reaction and the freak-out afterwards could be in part due to the extreme stress of everything going on, on the heals of everything else she had already been through. When Daughtry screamed hateful words at her, she questioned whether he felt that way in some small part of himself, even though she knew his blood sugar caused the emotional reaction. She vacillated back and forth between that knowledge and the extreme fear after dealing with all of the guys. The emotional back and forth is very realistic even though, as the reader, I wanted her to just understand what was happening. As someone who's dealt with that kind of stress I can say our reactions aren't always thoughtful ;-)

Another well-written book. There were some typos and separation of some scenes was missed, but not as many as I've noticed in previous books by this author. And they didn't detract from the story.

It’s Polka Dot’s Turn

I’ve always had a soft spot for the gentle giant that is Daughtry, or Polka Dot as he is known to his family. He runs the custom build garage that the family owns and is a teddy bear, especially to all the kids around. However, he really didn’t want to hire a female mechanic and was bullied into it by his female family and friends.

Jamie is raising three boys that aren’t her own. Their mother left their father when they were young because she just wasn’t cut out for motherhood and when Jamie was 19 she started a relationship with their father. As their father was in the armed forces she ended up raising the children when he was on deployment, which was a lot. After his death she moved to Rojo to be near her father and brothers, two of which were in the Texas Kings MC. She’s also the mechanic being taken on by Daughtry.

I really enjoyed this book and the characters in it. Jamie is awesome. She’s hardworking, dedicated, loving and loyal, not to mention talented. Her relationship with Daughtry isn’t straight forward and they have a few bumps along the way which kept things interesting for me.

This author only published her first work in 2019 and I have to say each book she writes, and she writes a lot, gets better and better. Her characters and stories have always been interesting but now they are more clearly outlined in more subtle ways. It’s interesting to watch a writer develop and hone their craft.

A definite must read book & series!

I absolutely love this series, and the stories just keep getting better and better! With awesome characters, lots of humor, a little drama, angst, and surprise twists, this story definitely surpassed my expectations. I wasn't able to put it down once I started it, but then again, I wasn't able to do it with the previous books either! Lol!
If you haven't already read the previous books in the series, I highly suggest that you do prior to beginning this one. It's not necessary, but you will get a much better understanding of the characters, the different clubs, and the aspects between them all. They're all absolutely fantastic stories that you certainly won't want to miss! I would highly recommend reading the Texas Knights MC as well. Both series heavily involve the other, and they're also awesome stories too!
I would definitely recommend this book, series, and exceptional author.

Daughtry and Jamie

Loved this story. Never underestimate what a woman can do; especially a brilliant woman that's being a mechanic since building motorcycles and vehicles at the tender age of 11 with her grandpa. And she's even more of a warrior for taking on the care of her boyfriends children, since he was serving in the Army and that was what he loved more than her and his kids. Daughtry was Ill for a while and didn't realize it until he almost died, but luckily Jamies good friend smelled the weird smell and knew Daughtry was diabetic and saved him by realizing this. Her oldest son Adam was showing very dangerous behavior and accidentally stabbed himself with a knife and had surgery, but also was put into a facility to help with his issues and doing well now. Happy reading.

Another winner from Cee. I literally read it the day it was released and since have decided I can’t return it to kindle unlimited. Everyday as I open to read a new book I see its cover and feel so much joy at the continuance of the Texas King brotherhood, and a pang at it coming to closer to saying goodbye to all of the amazing characters. Daughtry wasn’t my favorite in the series but he definitely held my attention with a set of new characters. Jamie won me over immediately, her love for the three boys despite them not being her blood shows a level of devotion that you wish all parents in the world would follow. Thank you Cee for providing us readers another wonderful escape into your king’s family world. I’ll be stalking Facebook waiting for your word on the next installment. Maybe by then I can let Daughtry and Jamie’s love story go back into amazons clutches, till then I’m gonna let him sit finished and loved in my library.

This is the story of Daughtry (Dot) and Jamie. Daughtry hires a female mechanic due to the women in life putting pressure on him. Jamie is the mechanic who is going raising her ex boyfriends sons. Dot and Jamie have a one night stand then the next morning Jamie goes to the garage and low and behold Dot is her boss. From here you have fireworks, funny moments, and such emotional moments you laugh you cry. We finally find out what is wrong with Daughtry. Just like with all of Cee's books you never want them to end. Cee's books are always just great. If you haven't read one yet I highly suggest you do.

Yet another great book in the series

Finally, we get Daughtry’s story. I really liked the way the characters developed and grew as the story progressed. Characters from other books play important parts of this story, but the author keeps it from getting confusing through graceful POV management. As with previous books, she makes references to past events that aren’t critical to the current story, and don’t get in the way, but if you know the history, it really adds a few giggles. If you don’t, it’ll make you curious without derailing you. A fun read! I’m looking forward to whatever happens next in Rojo.

This book has all the feels

It’s a great read and it’s quite heartwarming as well. As I continued to read each chapter I joined the family again . Did I mention that Bird is my favorite of the series. This family is just so cool you enjoy being a part of their family. This story belongs to Daughtry and Jaime. Daughtry was definitely against any serious relationship, but hook ups were great. Jaime wanted a family and the whole nine, unfortunately her man Wyatt only had eyes for the Army, and only wanted to hold on to Jaime for his children. This book definitely has all the feels and will touch your heart. Read On!!

Can this series get any better? It just did!

I am so in love with this MC series! Every book just gets better and makes me love it more. The strong, fierce women are no pushovers for the loyal, hard loving men they fall for. This book is on point. Jamie is the perfect match for Daughtry. Loved that the story that has been building around Daughtry throughout the series was final brought to a conclusion. This book had me laughing and then crying. Could not put it down. Thank you Cee!

LOVE 💕 Not So Patiently Waiting for the Next

I am seriously in the love with the content Cee Bowerman puts out. I read a lot of love books and while some may be put off by how quick the timeline for these books are, I love it! I love that the characters own their decisions and stick with it. I have been waiting for Daughtry’s story and cannot wait to hear Hank and Fains. Maybeeeeee Clem will be next? (Hint hint).

If you haven’t already, read these books. All of the series are connected and its amazing to watch the characters in Rojo fall in love.

5 Stars- My New Favourite Series

I LOVE these books...and I read a LOT of MC series. My new favourite author! There isn’t a character that I don’t absolutely love. Both story and character development are superb! My only complaint is editing- to tighten up accuracy and consistency ie: wrong names or details from previous books. But minor and likely due to my eye for detail and the rate at which I am consuming her books! The author has created a world in Rojo, Texas, that I can’t get enough of. I can’t wait for the next book!

Love Daughtry

Daughtry and Jamie are fantastic. This love story is a favorite of mine. All of the Forresters are wonderful men. As much as Daughtry and Clem have fought the single life, Daughtry gets caught by a wonderful woman who just wants someone to lobe her for her. I really wish these books by Cee were on Audible. It would be amazing to hear these guys and their woman. Cee needs to make a 17th book with updates off all the couples and their kids. Like 10-15 years in the future.

I think Jamie is my fave heroine so far. She’s under stated and not a big noter and she was paired with Dot well.

I like how they were in from the get go. Hardly any mucking around.

When Neva was revealed to have diabetics I suspected that was the outcome with Dot too. In previous books it was built up that something was wrong and they way Nevas diabetics was introduced about Jamie knowing how to deal with someone who had the disease made it easy to guess.

I liked the her back story too. Something different than the normal heroine background.

HOLY CRAP !!!

This book is another example how a new author gets better after every book !! From the very first page your drawn into this amazing story that you never want to end . Somehow Cee manages to weave serious topics with love and humor. Plus family, always family! Whether by blood or by choice the way family comes together is what we all wish for . I can't wait for the next !!

Daughtry visit different. Real lifep invented in mechanics issues were .represented with his new diagnosis of diabetes. I like the addition of woman to had as much or more knowledge. I like reading about all the men in boats embassies in the addition of the Connor Brothers construction company. I was looking forward two more stories about all the characters involved. Highly recommend all your books.
