Note: The decision was made to consolidate all Disney publications under the name Walt Disney Company. This profile is for Walt Disney, the characters he created, and the company he founded. Any questions, please ask in the Librarian's Group.

Walter Elias “Walt” Disney (December 5, 1901 – December 15, 1966) was an American film producer, director, screenwriter, voice actor, animator, entrepreneur, entertainer, international icon, and philanthropist. Disney is famous for his influence in the field of entertainment during the 20th century. As the co-founder (with his brother Roy O. Disney) of Walt Disney Productions, Disney became one of the best-known motion picture producers in the world. The corporation he co-founded, now known as The Walt Disney Company, today has annual revenues of approximately U.S. $35 billion.

Disney is particularly noted for being a film producer and a popular showman, as well as an innovator in animation and theme park design. He and his staff created some of the world's most famous fictional characters including Mickey Mouse, a character for which Disney himself was the original voice. He has been awarded four honorary Academy Awards and has won twenty-two competitive Academy Awards out of fifty-nine nominations, including a record four in one year, giving him more awards and nominations than any other individual. He also won seven Emmy Awards. He is the namesake for Disneyland and Walt Disney World Resort theme parks in the United States, as well as the international resorts Tokyo Disney, Disneyland Paris, and Disneyland Hong Kong.

Disney died of lung cancer in Burbank, California, on December 15, 1966. The following year, construction began on Walt Disney World Resort in Florida. His brother Roy Disney inaugurated the Magic Kingdom on October 1, 1971.

The Walt Disney Company (NYSE: DIS) (commonly referred to as Disney) is the largest media and entertainment conglomerate in the world in terms of revenue. Founded on October 16, 1923, by brothers Walt Disney and Roy Disney as the Disney Brothers Cartoon Studio, the company was reincorporated as Walt Disney Productions in 1929. Walt Disney Productions established itself as a leader in the American animation industry before diversifying into live-action film production, television, and travel. Taking on its current name in 1986, The Walt Disney Company expanded its existing operations and also started divisions focused upon theatre, radio, publishing, and online media. In addition, it has created new divisions of the company in order to market more mature content than it typically associates with its flagship family-oriented brands.

The company is best known for the products of its film studio, the Walt Disney Motion Pictures Group, today one of the largest and best-known studios in Hollywood. Disney also owns and operates the ABC broadcast television network; cable television networks such as Disney Channel, ESPN, and ABC Family; publishing, merchandising, and theatre divisions; and owns and licenses 11 theme parks around the world. On January 23, 2006, it was announced that Disney would purchase Pixar in an all-stock transaction worth $7.4 billion. The deal was finalized on May 5. On December 31, 2009, Disney Company acquired the Marvel Entertainment, Inc. for $4.24 billion. The company has been a component of the Dow Jones Industrial Average since May 6, 1991. An early and well-known cartoon creation of the company, Mickey Mouse, is the official mascot of The Walt Disney Company.

Vietomis ištempta guma... Bet kai kuriuose puslapiuose didelis dailininko fail. Pagal istoriją, pas Tarani plaukai pasikeičia persivertus į sargybinę, o ten palikta senesnė versija lyg tingėta nupiešti naujai ir normaliai.

This book was equally frustrating to the first in this ARC. The baby was born, and apparently enough time passed for it to hold up its head just fine by the end of this book*. If we add in the fact that it was suddenly winter, that means the story has spanned some 10 months since the beginning of this ARC. That's 10 months where no one has talked things out, or actively looked for their root. It's just so frustrating to me!

While this book centered more on the main story, there was another filler chapter, which was annoying. It was all about love lost and found, and while love has always been a part of the WITCH stories, it was never forced on us the same way it is now. At least not that I can remember. It feels like the writers don't understand how to combine the two genres - YA love and YA fantasy - so they write separate stories.

There were also some flashbacks to the first volume, and I have to admit that seeing those flashbacks only made me more aware of how plain the current art is. The first ARC played with light and dark in a way that really spoke to me, but that's completely missing from the current art.

I know I'm being hard on this ARC, but I don't feel like I can treat it any other way! It feels like they don't know what to do with the series anymore, so they just pump stuff out to keep cashing in on it.
Also, shouldn't the girls be finished with High School by now? If nothing else, they should be in their last year.

And also the wizard thing in the filler chapter? I don't... ARG! All the talk of their powers having been part of them from when they were kids completely retcon the fact that they were given their powers by Kandrakar, and that our world isn't a magical one.

*I know this is a series for kids, but considering when the first ARC came out, most of the long time readers would be well into their late teens by the release of this ARC. And that's maybe what annoys me the most. The writers and artist don't really think things through, and seem to believe that anyone reading this series won't have a grasp of timelines or pregnancies or adult communication. It's very much dumed down, which would drive away a lot of teen readers, including myself. Which is a very sucky feeling, when something you've grown up with suddenly start trying to pull in a new audience, that would be years younger than you. I don't know, this ARC is just annoying me at this point, but I already own it, so I'll continue reading it.

I do think this is the weakest arc of the series so far, but despite that, this was another easy 5 star read for me. I'm still not a fan of Matt and the way he's acting. It just feels so out of character, and definitely not in a good way. But I loved that we got to see the other girls' journies into finding the root of their powers. I would have liked a bit more of an explanation regarding some of that, but I always find myself wanting more because I love the stories so much. And the artwork was, of course, stunning. The chapter on Hay-Lin was probably my favorite from this volume.

I enjoyed this one a lot more than the previous volume. The story seemed to go at a pace that kept me more engaged. It was really cute and wholesome seeing William be born and welcomed into the Vandom family. I’m really enjoying seeing Will’s family life finally be more stable. I feel like her and her mum Vanessa really deserve this.

I thought I would get sick of the repetitive way that each member of witch had to get their upgraded powers but i was relieved to find that I didn’t. It was actually cool to see how they managed alone as individuals and how they had grown to believe in themselves and where they are in their lives/ journey. Seeing Hay Lin take on two hurricanes and making a mini one to suck them up was super cool and I felt really proud of her character development as she allowed the change of her home to happen.

Watching Will and Matt is just painful like what has happened to him? I’m still waiting for an explanation of how he turned from chill pet shop boy who plays in a band with his mates to professional guitarist on tour with rockstar kamilla to kandrakar’s minion! His and Will’s relationship is just so messy and I hope that soon they can talk things through no matter the outcome.

Being cut off from kandrakar was really sad, especially when Yan Lin was cut off from being able to see Hay Lin. I can’t wait for the final volume/ battle to get kandrakar back!

I can’t believe Irma’s boyfriend lives underground with a bunch of quirky individuals. Like, of course that’s her boyfriends hang out and friendship group! I was hesitant about Stephen at first, and worried we’d lose our independent Irma, however it’s been heartwarming seeing them have first dates. Watching Irma choose love over her power was terrifying because I thought she was making the wrong decision and had to be selfless but nope she didn’t and that was kind of refreshing. It showed that the girls can have a balanced life between their witch lives and their human lives. We’re seeing them learn and mature and that’s fun to experience.

Also, I want to see more of U18 they seem really fun and not gonna lie I’d probably read a comic series about their adventures keeping Heatherfield safe!

Overall I can’t wait for the next volume!

Not a huge fan of the sudden change to Matt's character - he hardly shows up in the previous books, then all of a sudden he's given powers by Kandrakar and turns into the stereotypical mysterious brooding guide. Also not sure what happened to Kandrakar's triumvirate system; at the first sign of danger the Oracle freaks out and makes a rash decision without consulting Yan Lin or Endarno (who's also nowhere to be found), as if he never learned his lesson from the Trial of the Oracle arc. The girls' quests to find the "roots" to their new powers felt a little arbitrary and cliched (why did they have to lose their original powers to begin with?) and we could have gotten a little more backstory on Dark Mother instead of the mere mention that she was power-hungry.

Having read all the previous installments back-to-back, it was also hard not to notice a glaring inconsistency - if the girls were given their powers by Kandrakar in their teens, at the start of this series, how did the roots to their powers begin in their infant/child years? Any powers would have been with the Guardians that preceded them.

Overall, the New Power arc feels more rushed and lazily-written than usual, and the art is a far cry from the vibrancy of the very first books in the series, but it still keeps my interest enough to see how it ends.

I do not know if the drawings are as beautiful as before or even better, but we feel that there is a big narrative change! The girls evolve into the final version of their respective Pokémon (so to speak), and they must tame an ultra powerful magic, approaching a little closer to adulthood.

However, I have never seen girls so weak and arrogant. This passage is as short as a blink of an eye but has not gone unnoticed. They go through all the stages of maturity, you have to be a little silly before ripening.

But that was just the beginning! What I loved is that every girl has an entire chapter about her and the acquisition of her new power. This arc marks a definitive turning point in the story and the enemy of this 7th part is described - and I think it’s true - as the worst obstacle of girls so far. No element of the past is left behind, so I did not feel this nostalgia for the first volumes. On the contrary, the evolution was necessary and comes at a perfect time, for the reader as for the characters.

Another solid WITCH installment, focusing on Irma, Hay Lin, and Will this time. I still really love seeing these characters mature, although it's starting to get a little odd that their non magical selves haven't seemed to age since the beginning? Matt's new role is confusing as well. I'm still confused how he went from Will's absent boyfriend to Kandrakar life coach and he kind of sucks at his new job, berating the team in the meanest way. It makes him really unlikeable. It's nice to see the girls evolving at least.

Why did they name that baby William though, who is that cruel lol.

Though the elements of earth and fire have been mastered, Irma and Hay Lin find underground beasts and terrifying storms awaiting W.I.T.C.H in their own trials, all while Will deals with a new brother, a distant Matt, and her own elemental insecurities. Gnone brings fans another colourful and exciting volume brimming with heart and humour. Can the girls figure out how to control the full extent of their powers in time to battle a darkness growing beneath their hometown?
