Exhausted, beaten down, and bloodied, the Black Flags gear up for a recovery mission. Pressed between two vastly larger forces, they are no longer able to sit on the sidelines and build up power. The hunt is on, but the game has changed. Bringing new high-tech toys to the party, Alex and Sophie launch their offensive campaign against both Amp and Chiwen’s forces. Desperate to protect those they love, and no longer held back by ghosts of the past, they put their carefully crafted plans of revenge into motion. Blood will be spilled. Lives will be ended. The only certainty is that the world will never be the same.
Quantum Decay completes the first of the Entangled Fates story arcs and sets the stage for what comes next. New team members, new tech, and new threats abound.
Joe travels the world each week as a tech mercenary defending the mega-corporations of tomorrow from hackers. He's got over 20 years in the IT field, much of it centered around security and cutting edge technology. In his spare time he plays video games and reads far too many pulpy books that either involve the world going to heck, characters with with complicated love lives, or a bit of both at the same time.
I didn't foresee the path that this installment would take. The last few chapters, while painful to read, kept me hooked. Anxiously awaiting the next one!!
The book described what I imagine it might be like to be head of an organization large enough to not know much of what was happening if you were dealing with terminal illness. As a reader it kept bugging me that I didn't have an idea of what would happen.
That being said I enjoyed it and hope another is already in the works. Though if the author is tired of it take a break and come back in a couple of years to give it your all!
For me the story is well written. the characters are believable and engaging both the good guys and the bad guys. The story leaves you guessing it times of what's going to happen and I like that it keeps you on the edge of your seat. The story is thought-provoking and entertaining and sometimes hard to read because of the subject matter sometimes being very intense. The story also has definitely 18 plus romantic love scenes as well. Just for a little added spice and genuine romance. I cannot wait to see what the author does next in this particular series and people that live in it.
This was a highly rewarding series. Fast moving, combination of fantasy and sci-fi with just the right amount of hot and heavy harem action. This story line was aimed at mainly young, tech savvy guys, but was obviously appealing to a much broader audience. I am a conservative, older guy of 75 years and I found it hard to put down any of these books. They kept me up well past any sane bed time and now I am going to be impatiently waiting further output from this talented author. Well done, sir!
The plot and sci fi aspects are awesome. Even the geo political aspects are superb. Love the characters and interactions as well.
The pit fall this series is falling into is the excessive time explaining the MCs depression and polyamory. The flirting and fun took a back seat on this one. Even the fun scenes focus on the MCs internal conflict. The other pitfall is mind control - especially on the MC. Once that ramps up in a series plots either fall apart or they just stop being interesting to read.
Liked the series a lot , the ending always seem way too fast and there is too much skip in epilogue in everybook. It feels like a whole lot of prep for something which happens off-screen and is generally explained in a couple of paras in the next books starting few chapters that leaves me feeling a bit unsatisfied. Other that that the whole plot and its believablity is pretty satisfying. The cliffhangers i am not a big fan of but atleast this series was ended at a OK point apart from
Holy hells, did this book put me through the wringer. Intense action and combat, machinations and all out war, mixed with deep emotional impacts that have affected and changed the characters for ever.
The plot was brilliant and awesome to see come together in that epic climactic battle, I couldn't put the book down until I finished it.
My only regret is not knowing if there are going to be more...
Incredible story! I really like your female characters, they have depth and they don't all fall in love with the MC after 15 minutes! Also love the world and scify aspect. Good job not going the way AI then nanobots then spacecraft in 2 days. I like that most of the stuff is based on what is happening/being developed today. Great work, continue writing and i'll keep reading!
This whole series is just excellent. The only problem is Mr. Kuster writes too slow! There were more typos in this book then the previous three, but not enough to be horribly off putting. One more read through by new eyes could have cleaned it up.
I read through this whole series in one week. Couldn’t put it down. Tons of action, characters, and a storyline that won’t quit. I highly recommend you check this series out,as well as the authors other work. Can’t wait to see where he takes this next.
Last part of the book was a nonstop roller coaster ride of ups and downs with a ton of action. Kinda figured that an ending like that was coming, too many narrow escapes in the other books. Can’t wait to see what happens next.
You can not kill off the heart and soul of this series! Readers unite, get your pitchforks and light your torches. The author must pay. You better bring Aubrey back. As I said before this is a heck of a world building.
This series just keeps getting better. If this genre is your jam or if you are cyborg-curious, give it a shot. The author's Patreon page seems like he is working hard on the next one now and I for one can't wait to see the next instalment.
Another great book, but I'd give it a 4.6. There were some sex scenes that just went on FOREVER, and although I know it's part of the book, those 20+ page foursome scenes are just too much.
Regardless, I enjoyed it, minus the parts I skimmed through as excessive. Things are pretty dark as of the close of this book so I'm hoping the author's layoff from this series gives him some idea to put the protagonists on the positive side again.
These have gone from fun, with dark bits, to dark, with additional dark bits. They’re still well-written but it’s all misery all the time. But if you like gritty stuff then come in, the water’s fine.
