Finding His Pack

Rate this book
The thing about Fate is...she doesn’t care about rules.

Recent college graduate, Cord Smith expected to graduate, find a six figure salary, and move to the city. Instead he discovers his degree might look pretty on the wall, but it isn’t helping him get out of his low end job. Add to that his growing concern that he might be losing it as the voice he thought was his conscience as a small child has grown to be more on the forefront; he’s a mess. Growing up in foster care means he’s in this on his own—or so he thinks. It isn’t until he shifts unexpectedly that he discovers the truth—he’s a wolf.

Greycoast Pack Alpha Byrom is doing the best he can to keep his pack together, but as a young Alpha and an unmated Alpha at that, he faces struggles both within his pack and with those surrounding him; packs that long for their land. When his pack finds a rogue on their land, he knows what he has to do—put the shifter down. Anything less will only show his weakness.

But what is an Alpha to do when the rogue he is to put down isn’t a rogue at all, but a latent shifter coming into his own, a shifter his wolf is clamouring to claim as his own?

Finding His Pack is a sweet with knotty heat M/M Mpreg Shifter Romance by the popular writing team of Jena Wade and Lorelei M. Hart. It features an Alpha who is learning his role, an omega just discovering who he is, a pack struggling to come together after the loss of their beloved Alpha, power hungry rivals, and an adorable baby or two. If you love your shifters hawt, your omegas strong, and your mpreg with heart, one-click Finding His Pack today.

Finding his Pack was originally released as a much shorter novella. Finding his Pack is now 40,000 words of shifter goodness. If you have purchased the original, please contact the authors with your order number and they will be happy to hook you up.

Fun start to series!
A Cute & Sexy M-preg MM Wolf Shifter Paranormal Fated-Mates romance with An Alpha Wolf finding his footing, A Human finding that he's an Omega Wolf, Sweet pack, A traitor & betrayal, Angst, Truths, Baby, Love, & HEA.
Byrom & Cord were lovable, This was a short & captivating read that I completed in one seating, DEVOURED in 3hrs! My 1st book my Jena but not by Lor. The world building grows with the series, I liked the "Good" Characters!😍

Greycoast Pack Alpha Wolf Byrom is 28yr old & trying to keep their Pack afloat after the death of his fathers, Him being their leader now. Byrom's Twin & Beta are helping too, but they're all struggling with sadness. Rance, one of his beta (The Bad guy here) is also giving him grief being still unmated, But Byrom doesn't want to mate for convenience but for Love.

Cord had a hard life in the foster care, now struggling with a low paying job & Student loans. He'd not known about Shifters, Thinking his inner voice (of wolf!) means he's turning mad. He's an introvert, but these days want to be in forest more. One of these visits, his (omega) wolf took over when he scented his mate...Byrom.

The blurb gives a good idea about our MCs...& When they meet, Byrom & Cord's wolves know they're mates, but...Things are complicated. Cord is a trespasser of their Pack line, didn't even knew how to shift. But Byrom's patience & Alpha-ness helped there. Now knowing Cord's a newbie, Byrom took him in, taught Wolf & Pack life. The pack accepted Cord too! Cord didn't want to just take all, so he helped with the accountancy.
~Responsibility, Inner wolf, Bad apple, Looking up, Taking over, Captured, Shift, Talk, Home, Teach, The Kiss, Not ready, Family dinner & Accident Truths, Acceptance, BJs, Hurt, Date, Mate talks, Think & Randy, Knot, Together, Useful, Vulnerability, Choices, Kidnapped, Danger, Confrontation, Saved, Care, I love yous, Mating, Marriage, Baby!

Living together B+C grew close, Sparky hot! Byrom took it slow with Cord, but soon they had sexy times & Mating talks. Cord wanted it so much, just like Byrom...But C's mind was at war. I knew Rance was brewing something...& Later, He attacked Cord! It was quite the scenes, but led to some Deep Realisations for Cord & Byrom. Not only Rance got what he deserved (Death!), But Greycoast Started a Friendship with Northbay Pack! The later scenes were sweet, Lovely acceptance. Byrom & Cord got their HEA (& Baby!) But the Dark Healer is still out there...
Up Next is Lyle's book! It's Fun binging the brother's books!

This was a wonderfully fun and sexy read! I adored Byrom and Cord sooo much! They were so sweet together! The story was just awesome and really enjoyed it. The authors did a wonderful job of developing the characters to the point where I got seriouslly emotionally attached to them. All in all, exactly what I what from a great shifter m/m romance!

This was a nice story. I adored Byrom, though I found him to be much too patient when it came to Rance. I liked Cord too, but he was so wishy washy. I get not thinking he's good enough for the alpha (Byrom) but come on. Every time they started to get closer he ran off. Even so, I did like the way everything came together.

An enjoyable read.

Byrom becomes alpha of his pack years earlier than he should have. His father died and it was his time to lead the pack even though he had no idea of what he was supposed to do about a mate.

Cord was just getting by. A degree not worth the paper it was printed on, debt mounting daily, not sure where his next meal was coming from. When he suddenly shifts into wolf he’s not prepared for his new normal.

I think I enjoy shifter stories so much because of the fated mate aspect of most of them. I liked that both Cord and and Byrom were given a little time to get to know each other before they sealed the bond.

Light and easy story about fated mates. Death of a secondary character, some angst, and Mpreg created a well rounded story.

I received an arc of this book.

I enjoyed this for the most part, but didn’t really find anything that made it stand out as better average. In fact, I kind of got tired of Cord. I could understand his reluctance at first, but after sleeping with Byron he was still running away. Over all I liked enough that I will happily read more books in this series.

I can't give this 3* because several parts just didn't make sense.

Cord didn't know about Alphas, so the logical conclusion is that the human world doesn't have Alpha and Omega designations, however, Cord has zero reactions to his slick and then tells Byrom he never let anyone else knot him...implying that ABO designations do exist for humans as well...? But he thought Bryom's name was Alpha when they first met.

There's several editing mistakes as well in my copy, and the book feels very shallow. I don't feel connected to any of the characters or particularly interested in their lives. And all besides, the spelling of their names did bug me.

I might go on to read the second in the series to see if there's any improvements in writing.

November 2020 - dnf'd

✕ Basic and boring story
✕ No character descriptions
✕ Fated mates who didn't know it until 60%, when a lukewarm sex scene with knotting happens.
✕ No passion/chemistry/love felt
✕ An alpha who acted more like a beta

DNF'd at 72%, when Cord (the omega) was still pushing Byrom (his alpha) away, wanting space and not wanting to be taken care of. Cord didn't care that he was hurting Bryom. He left him to go stay in the omega dorms.

I had this series marked as unread on my kindle and while goodreads claims I read it in 2020 (with my old kindle) I didn't remember it so why not? There's something to be said about bad memory and reading books for the first time two times. I liked it, not sure if four stars like it but it was good. A bit more on the wilder side of shifters compared to what Lorelei usually does, so it must be Jenna's influence

Very, very cute omegaverse novel.
It wasn't overly complex and I wished the characters would have been sliiightly more fleshed out, but still: it was endearing, romantic and fast. It even had a bit of angst, a tiny bit of hurt/comfort, the always welcome "if you hurt him, I'll kill you" trope that I'm utterly weak for, and even a smidge of pining, so triple kudos for that.
I'm slowly but surely (and cheerfully, I might add) jumping on the Mpreg bandwagon, although I still prefer my romances devoid of babies. But well, I'm already a sucker for the omegaverse genre and since hardly any of them are without Mpreg (and, fellow readers, if you know any PLEASE, please, let me know: recs are 1000% welcome), I'll deal. The epilogue was very, very sweet though. I'm so curious to read the next book and get to know Lyle a bit better.

Intense

I thought this story has done great moments of intensity, and plenty of chances to catch our breath and move on. I thought that Byrom was very patient with Cord, but he should've dealt with Dance much earlier.

A RUN OF THE MILL ALPHA/OMEGA BOOK WHICH DOESN’T IMPRESS ME ANYMORE AND INSTEAD PISSES ME OFF
ALL THE CLICHES ATTACHED TO ALPHA/OMEGA BOOKS, THIS BOOK HAS (WEAK, CODEPENDENT OMEGA THAT IF YOU ADDED SOME TITS YOU WON’T NOTICE THE DIFFERENCE, MARY SUE ALPHA, MC’S CALLING EACH OTHER MATES AFTER HAVING JUST MET, CHARACTERS GETTING CONSTANT AND RANDOM ERECTIONS EVERY TIME THEY LOOK AT EACH OTHER, A PACK MEMBER THAT HATES THE ALPHA AND BY EXTENSION THE OMEGA SO THAT’S THE VILLAIN, I DIDN’T REACH THE END BUT I AM SURE IT HAS SAID VILLAIN DOING SOMETHING THAT PUTS THE OMEGA IN DANGER HAVING THE ALPHA BE THE HERO AND SAVE HIM BECAUSE THE OMEGA IS AS USELESS AND DEFENSELESS AS THEY COME AND THEN THEY LIVED HAPPY EVER AFTER)

GET ME AN ALPHA/OMEGA BOOK WHERE THEY DON’T WANT TO QUICKLY JUMP THEIR BONES AND DROOL ALL OVER EACH OTHER. THEN I WILL READ IT AND CRY AND BE SURPRISED.

I am sorry for all the caps but I am still angry I deleted the whole thing. Trust me, it was a beautiful review.

Absolutely no character development

I honestly couldn't finish it. It had so much potential but it fell short everytime. It was far from hot and steamy in any way at all and random lapses of time happen for no reason and without explanation. The character randomly just knows stuff that he randomly learned thru lapses of time that no one knows about. It's hard because I absolutely adore shifter books and especially Mpreg but I just really couldn't finish it.

Oh Where oh Where is my Fated Mate

I downloaded the Sample of this book not sure if I was going to read it until I got to the end of the Sample and then I couldn't stop. While I like both authors I have yet to read all their books. I began this one on a whim and I got caught up in the entertaining story line. It was completely unexpected. I was just depending on the authors' names and never read any summaries or reviews. I like being either pleasantly surprised or unfortunately sometimes quite disappointed.

This book about the Greycoast Pack was so interesting. There are many themes covered that enhance the storyline: Mental Health issues - talking to a voice only you heard, overwhelmed by debt and having a low paying job despite having earned a college degree, feeling restless & seeking. A mateless future Alpha being badgered by his father and pack, dissension within the pack, archaic pack laws, rogue wolf, territorial pack borders, foster care, being poor and the daily struggle. The fated mates myth. Twin brothers. How hard can it be to learn how to be a wolf?

There is violence, extreme fear, and moments of bliss. I really enjoyed this book and can't wait until August 15th when the Second book in the series, FINDING HIS PURPOSE is released.

Your fated mate just found out he's a wolf. And someone wants him dead.

What a stunning start of a new series! I was pulled in from the first pages. The Greycoast Pack is vibrant and alive, filled with intriguing characters. Pack politics, loyal members, betrayal and hatred, an unexpected omega, fated mates, and steamy scenes. I didn't want to leave the Pack.
Byrom becomes Alpha after an accident kills his fathers and the rest of the Pack leaders. His twin, Lyle, is his right hand. Orphaned at birth, Cord has lived in the human world thinking he's a little off due to the voice in his head. Then one day, he transforms into a wolf. The voice screams Mate. Being fated to Byrom comes with its own problems. Byrom vows to wait until Cord decides he can be the Alpha Omega.
This journey to HEA isn't easy. A vengeful wolf, a pregnancy, self- doubt, and a kidnapping make for an exciting ride. You will love this book!
This book contains adult themes and language, mm sex and is intended for mature readers only.

Plain.

0 character development.

Too easy and fast paced with the important times and slow and repetitive with the filling.

That's my overall opinion, now let's get into details.

This kind of plot is overused because it works. It usually works for me too, I'm a goner with shapeshifter stories and I love it when one the the MCs has no clue about the shifter world as happens with Cord. But even though the premise seemed interesting, the result was not as much.

It's easy to read, but this time easy is not necessarilly good. It's easy because it lacks depth so it doesn't get heavy nor emotionally nor argumentally.

I loved Cord's first encounter with the wolves. How he shifted, how confused he was but at the same time his wolf knew what was going on. And I loved his first shift back and they way Byrom understood there was more to him than it looked.

But from then on things went downright for me.

I didn't understand their attitude most of the time. It's like when one of them wants to take a step forward in their relationship the other has some excuse, and then things change and it's the other way around. That happens all the time until the very end, and it's frustrating because it doesn't make sense. Their reasons are vague and that doesn't add to the story.

Then we have the Alpha versus those who think he's not good enough. It was so obvious what would happen that it was funny. But the worst was how fast everything went. Most of the book is Byrom and Cord crying because they can't be togheger and them being the reason why they aren't... And then when something starts to happen, when it looks like some action or drama is coming... It ends as fasta as it starts.

Really??

If you take this book as a quick and forgettable read it's entertaining and I don't discard continuing the series because I rarely do, but I won't expect much from the next books, because if they are anything like this... Not muy cup of tea.

Okay.. So.. I never write reviews. If it's good it's good, if it's bad I drop it. But this one.. This frustrated me like nothing else. It was..
Bad... Very bad. Cringe. Awkward. Dumb. Frustrating.

SPOILERS AHEAD!

Some of my "favorite" lines:

"Lyle continued to push at me until we were out of sight. It was a smart move..." you just discovered a random ass wolf on your territory and the smartest move is to let your beta push you away from it.. and leave your whole ass pack to deal with him instead. Honestly this is were the face-palming started. (16%) Byrom, the pack alpha, was useless and dumb. His brother had more reason and was more loveable but of course.. Of course he didn't want to be THE Alpha.

"Mine. My wolf growled within.." (17%) okay so we found that out quickly.. NO.
"Claim. Take. Mine. Mate...I knew deep down in my soul that he was my mate. My omega mate" (25%) wait for it. We are still not sure..
"- Is he your mate? Lyle thinks he is your mate.
I groaned.
- I don’t know. He can’t be, can he.." (32%) what do you mean?????
"- Dude, you’re not gonna let your fated mate just go live in the omega dorms. Come on. -Fated mate?
Lyle’s lips pursed as he stared at me.
- Yeah. Fated mate.
- You think Cord is my fated?" (50%) what do you MEAN? you are a whole ass alpha wolf. From page 10 you know this. But no. Let me question everything like it's my first time hearing it.. Not like my inner wolf doesn't chant it in my head...and it's like this until the very end. And the omega just accepts it like it's perfectly normal that he hears it all of the time in his head too. He doesn't questions anything not once.

"- Promise not to get weird if I tell you something?
- Absolutely.
He kissed my shoulder.
- I’ve never been knotted before." (59%) - okay this was.. I had to put it down for a day at least when I read this..like..you are a wolf for a week. You don't say? You don't say you have never been knotted? And again. He does not question anything. Why the alpha calls him omega? What does it mean? What is a knot? Why is he wet? He lived as a human for more than 20years and all of a sudden he is comfortable with getting wet and pregnant.

There was more nonsense other than these but I just scanned the pages at this point. Don't bother. There are many more much much better books than this.

And I almost forgot. I have never read smexy scenes where I felt awkward. But dear God. There wasn't an ounce of attraction we, as readers, could feel. No build up to it even though they both didn't want to accept each other until the very end. I had to skip the few scenes were they got "steamy".. And it's never happened before. Their first kiss was awkward as hell too.

- a MM shifter romance! omegaverse, fated mates, wolves, instalove, found family, MPreg, hurt/comfort
- supposed to be a sad prologue but just annoyed me 😂
- OH so he doesn’t know he’s a wolf??
- SORRY THEY WANT TO KILL CORD???
- Rance is vile oh my god??
- aw it was such a sweet scene when they all officially welcomed Cord into the pack!! money Rance cos yannoe
- great first sex scene!! but it’s just like, if Byrom explained fated mates to Cord he wouldn’t keep second guessing himself??
- Lyle is the most sensible tbh and i am excited for his book
- OH MY GOD JUST FUCKING COMMUNICATE WITH EACH OTHER
- their first date was pretty cute tho
- okay thank god they’ve finally talked!! they were winding me up
- okay we love their first knotting scene!!
- okay not a fan of their argument but i can deffo understand why it happened
- okay 0-100 REAL QUICK
- but a very good third act conflict! i wish we’d had some more breadcrumbs about Danny throughout the book cos it was a bit weird?
- like mentioning a strange scent at the beginning and then him appearing at the end, could of been done a bit better
- and the pregnancy was veryyyyy rushed but they can be sometimes in these books
- but the reunion scene after the conflict was SO SWEET and Northbay is here!!!
- excellent epilogue, the birthing scene was very sweet

i'll start off by saying that this book had potential. I remember reading the description of this book and being really excited for it and I think that if the author had taken a little more time and focused the details and editing more, this book could have turned out great. Throughout most of the book I noticed minor editing issues and Shrugged it off, however as the book progressed I began noticing a lot more and a lot bigger editing discrepancies. There would be parts of the book where I felt like entire sentences or paragraphs were missing and it became increasingly evident that the books was rushed. At some points in the book even the dialogue seemed off and rushed. There were also a lot of issues with the piecing. There were certain parts of the book where many of the characters seemed flat and uninteresting. I really wish that the author had taken a little more time to perfect this book.

I am so excited to read the rest of this series!

This was a great start to the series. It’s rare that these type of books have a late-bloomer shifter so that was really fun to experience and made the angst all the better. Plus, it’s always fun when the alpha is the pack alpha or heir and I loved getting to see their dynamic and how that plays into it. There isn’t a whole lot of spicy times but the scenes are both fun and hot even if the knotting isn’t explored as much as I wish it was. This book was exactly what I was in the mood for and I’m hoping the rest of them are just as good!

Wow. I can’t hype this story enough to everyone. And by hype I mean really get you into not reading it. Don’t waste your time with this. It was a push to finish this, especially around the 73% mark. It’s a very predictable story.

The blurb was better than the actual story. It’s lacking in so many ways. Mess. Just a mess. It needs to be reworked, edited, and made longer to make it better.
There are better shifter stories. There are better mpreg stories. There are better m/m stories.

Three people writing this story was three to many.
I have already deleted my copy and won’t be reading the rest of series.
P.s. also strongly dislike the odd name Byrom. It just came across as a typo to my brain. Everytime. The name Rance wasn’t any better. Cord was also a very annoying character. I just wanted to slap him.

Great start to a new series!

I loved this book. The plot was interesting and I liked how Cord helped bring the pack a little bit more into modern times since he was raised as a human before shifting for the first time, realizing he isn't human after all, and finding his fated mate in Byrom, the new alpha of the Greycoast pack after the death of his parents in a car accident the month before. There was one character that everyone will hate but he does eventually get what is coming to him. I thought it was a great start to a new series and after reading the preview for the next book in the series, I can't wait to read it also. I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book.

Cord is struggling with day to day life but keeps pushing forward without any idea that there is another side to him. When Byrom and his pack encounter Cord, there is a lot of dissent in what should be done with him. Byrom is still struggling with how to be an Alpha to his pack after the death of his parents and their inner circle. As these two figure out what is going on with their relationship, they face outside stress and must come to turns with everything that is going on. This series is starting with a bang and will hook you instantly.

Shifter MM MPREG Romance

3 stars!

This was a very stereotypical shifter fated mate MPREG story. I didn't fi d anything to super standout about it but it also wasn't bad either.

I always love a human thrust into the magical world but this didn't have much fan fair and all the parts that had potential for world building were glossed over. I want to know about this world!

I'm curious about the next story. I saw a couple of potential stories that could be next and I'm intrigued I just want more details!

I'm giving up at 62%. It was a stereotypical alpha/omega story, in-your-face-cartoon-villain, supportive siblings and every other cliche you can think of.
But the cardinal sin that nailed it was the boring writing. Nothing caused excitement, even sexy scenes. The first sexual encounter was snooze-worthy and it did not progress beyond blow job, the second one is where I had to stop reading because I could not force myself to suffer another minute of boredom.
This was my first book by Jena Wade and I'll try something else to see if this story was a fluke or the author is not for me.

1st and foremost, I only found this book bc of another I looked into. A Goodreads recommended read. Thanks to readers leaving feed back, I found there were other series connected to it. It was recommended this series and another, in which I will get to next, be read 1st.
I am over the moon glad I did.
This was awesome! I love shifters books. They are even better when there is NOT a "norm". Different for sure and most definitely not in a bad way! I binged through this 4 book series. I couldn't get enough.
