The last words Adrian ‘Rocky’ Malone expected to hear when he went to donate a kidney to a stranger were “he’s your son.” A first-names-only weekend fling years ago left Rocky with a lifetime of memories. He wondered what happened to the woman he only knew as Nikki. He didn’t think he’d see her again, or he sure as hell never thought she’d be the mother of his son.

Nicole Parker would do anything for her child. As a single mom, her son always coame first. She never thought twice about giving up dates or jobs or friends to take care of him. When all hope was lost, she dove deep into a dark world she never knew existed and made a deal with a man she was sure would just as soon kill her as help her.

Rocky showing up was the answer to Nikki’s prayers, until he said he wanted to know his son. Too many people let Nikki down for her to trust again, but her son is the most loving person she’s ever known and welcomes the tough, strong, sexy former SEAL into their lives with wide open arms.

The happy reunion doesn’t last long. Threatening phone calls and late night visitors make it clear the man Nikki went to for help is ready for his payment, and he is more than willing to take his fee from her. By any means necessary.

USA TODAY Bestselling Author Mary E Thompson spent most of her childhood wishing she had a few less curves. She hid in the pages of books because her favorite characters never cared what size her clothes were. Now, neither does Mary, and she writes stories that celebrate women like her. Real women who have curves, chase dreams, and find love, because we should all be happy, no matter our dress size.
Mary spends her non-writing time with her husband and two kids, watching too much TV, cheering for her hometown football team (Go Bills!), and hiding chocolate from her family.

**RECEIVED ARC FOR HONEST REVIEW AND AS A BIRTHDAY GIFT FROM THE AUTHOR BECAUSE SHE ROCKS**

This was a really sweet second chance romance with some drama thrown in. Nikki is a sweetheart who loves her son and would do anything for him. Rocky is well, a unicorn. Understanding, kind, caring, sweet, tender, loving. Sheesh. Makes you just want to go yeah we know guys like this aren't real.
It was a nice read. Nothing over the top or too hum drum. It really does leave you with a smile and occasionally you get to grumble at the characters and wish you could smack them. That's always signs of a good book.

That was a really awesome story ...simply written, but a sound storyline anyway.
I loved the turn the story took with Nikki finally having to own up to the mess she created, and allowing Rocky to help her to get out of it. She was stubborn to the point of stupid I think and almost got herself, her son and Rocky himself killed. She was a really hard nut to crack but I am happy that Rocky persevered with her for them to get that happy ever after ending they so deserved, after having loved each other from the onset, the struggle was real with her refusing to admit her love for Rocky !!!

Family by Mary E. Thompson

Another book from Mary E. Thompson. The story was about Rocky and Nikki. Their love story started 7 years ago. They share 6 years old son together. There's some drama, some violence, and lots of love.

Nikki and Rocky...I really loved this story. What started out as a sad situation, turned into an amazing love story. And Sly, who could read this book and not love him!

I enjoyed the story. Sly was a real plus to the story. The chance of Nikki and Rocky meeting was really unbelievable. It was a sad beginning, but it ended well.
