Taking a holistic approach to loving, accepting, and nurturing oneself, this vibrantly illustrated cookbook offers healthy tips for both the mind and body. Rather than pushing teens to diet, this empowering volume celebrates food and encourages girls to stop obsessing about what they should and should not eat and encourages them to indulge in what is best for them nutritionally. Lushly designed, the book also contains numerous simple, healthy, and delicious recipes from the author's sister, a California-based celebrity chef, as well as favorite meals from real girls from around the world.

This book was a bit of a whim. I picked it up as I was walking out of the library one day because it was bright and shiny. I loved the ideas and the girls from all over the world suggesting their recipes... unfortunately, I don't remember any of them now! The only down side was that the author seemed to be trying to push vegetarianism onto the reader as though she were somehow superior because she was a vegetarian.
If I wrote a cookbook I would hope it would turn out to be as creative and colorful as this one. Every page was a collage of hand written fonts and bright photos. It was like a scrapbook/cookbook of real girls ages 13-late 20's with easy cuisine from all over the world. I really enjoyed reading a cookbook that was centered on my age group and foods that sound delicious and are simply made. In the beginning she gives information on eating nutritially and since she doesn't believe in dieting she gives alternatives. Definitely go check this out at your library. I also want check out her other girlosophy books. :)
