Update 5/19/21 - Finished rereading, and wow. The first pages still really get me. I love Laurene's confidence and Silas' innocence. I didn't cry, but my eyes warmed reading the angst. It's written in Tagalog, and some of you might know how emotional the language can be. The lines were so raw and relatable. Most of all, I loved how Laurene overcame her insecurities trying to catch up with her achiever boyfriend, Silas, when she was formerly a slacker. There's so much growth in the story. I loved it so much. There's really love like that? The love you can't let go of?

I've read this years ago and I still remember how much I cried. I loved it so much that I bought the first edition of the book. So, I guess I'll just take advantage of this review to dump some of my favorite lines.

Every Bad Thing is a story of insecurity, of being scared to drag the person you love down, and learning how to trust each other. I am so in love with the happy-go-lucky girl and studious-perfect boy trope then (and maybe even now) that I found this book at the right time.

"Move on, Laurene! It's been four fucking years!"
"Yes, it's been four years! Four years, pero nandito pa rin! Nandito pa rin yung pagmamahal, yung pangungulila! Nandito pa rin yung sakit! Nandito pa rin siya!"

"I never wanted you to love me like how you loved him. I just want you to love me."

"Alam mo yung ginawa mo lahat? Ibinigay mo lahat, pero kulang pa rin?"

"Please fucking explain it to me. Ipaintindi mo naman sa akin kasis hanggang ngayon hindi ko pa rin maindintindihan kung bakit mo ako nagawang saktan dati."

"...I've done nothing but think of what I did wrong. Of what I didn't do that still made me wrong. Nagkulang ba ko? Nasobrahan ba? Please explain it to me, Laurene, because I really don't fucking understand."

tried reading Hades’ story nung isang araw at sobrang nilook forward ko syang basahin simula nung nailagay ko sa e-reader ko kasi nga i like the other stories sa series nito kaso wala akong mafeel na connection sa mga bida halfway through—it felt rushed, parang poof! ayan spark. SOOOO bumalik muna ako sa S1.

this has been the third or fourth time na binasa ko itong storyyyy and isa to sa mga tumatak sakin sa wattpad kasi sobrang hinhin ni Silas at hindi sya common sa mga ML tapos tanda ko din na i liked how the author writes.

sobrang nostalgic! namiss ko yung wattpad days ko nung binabasa ko to. yung tipong sa simpleng bagay kikiligin na at maiirita. upon rereading though, narealize ko na medyo mababaw yung reason ng conflicts or hindi sya nailahad ng maayos. hence, 3.5 stars. onto the next serrano naman sa next free day! 🤓

I loved it. I love the story, the plot, Silas, the angst.

Author knew what she was doing. Silas’ innocence will always get me. Laurene and Him fit well.

The first few chapters were good, but I also think that it was kinda rushed as it goes. Anyway, I am still satisfied with how the story goes and how it ended.

September 19, 2020 update: My copy arrived! It was costly since I was too late to pre-order but it's so worth it. It's really thick and the cover is gorgeous.
