Who knew getting kidnapped could be so fun?

Dr. Drew Cooper would rather die than give in to his captor’s demands. Only a suicidal idiot would kidnap the Blackwood pack healer in the first place, but to then insist he heal one of the rival pack’s members? Yeah, hard pass.

Until she walks into the room. With fiery red hair, piercing blue eyes and curves that could stop traffic, Chloe Soren takes his breath away.

Drew agrees to help so he can have time to convince Chloe they’re fated mates, despite her reservations. There’s only one problem—the alpha who snatched him just happens to be Chloe’s over-protective big brother. And the patient he’s expected to heal? Their dying mother.

Shit just got real.

What can I say about this book ? Well if you've followed the series and think back to Real Men Howl you will be well aware that a powerful virus has been banned as it's extremely dangerous to Werewolves. I really liked that the author connected the books and followed through with this idea which is the base for this story. Drew ends up kidnapped as he's viewed as an expert on the virus and there's a Pack Alpha desperate enough to risk war. Only problem is the Alphas sister Chloe is more than a little involved in what has happened and what do you know it turns out that Chloe and Drew are fated Mates !
This just seemed terribly short which is a shame as it meant everything seemed rushed and honestly not a huge amount really happened if it's action or suspense that you are hoping for. There is romance obviously with heated moments but Chloe's secret was a bit too predictable. However it introduced a new Pack so hopefully these new characters might have their own stories to tell at some point. Well written but somewhat lacking the humour I expected.
This voluntary take is of an advance copy and my thoughts and comments are honest and I believe fair.

It's a very short story that doesn't have much to it. It's a romance, sketched out briefly and heavily reliant on the instalove of fated mates. It opens the door to another pack being added to this 'verse, but honestly, I struggled to remember much of it and I literally finished it this morning. I didn't hate it, but I definitely didn't love it. Only for completists of this series IMO.

Well, this is a TOTALLY new genre for me. Well real men are men, but they are also wolves. So who knew getting kidnapped could be so fun?. Dr. Drew Cooper would rather die than give in to his captor's demands. Only a suicidal idiot would kidnap the Blackwood pack healer in the first place, but to then insist he heal one of the rival pack's members? Yeah, hard pass. Until she walks into the room. With fiery red hair, piercing blue eyes, and curves that could well, stop traffic!!!, Chloe Soren takes his breath away. Drew agrees to help so he can have time to convince Chloe they are fates mates, despite her reservations. There's only problem--the alpha who snatched him just happens to be Chloe's over-protective big brother. And the patient he expected to heal? Their dying mother.

So the wolves in animal form and animals in human form can be doctors, school teachers and many other forms as well. I surprisingly enjoyed this book--trying to learn from new books and different genres. This is not too long but quite fun for a completely different kind of reading than I've done before. So the discussions about pack this and pack that. They have human life interests and jobs, and some interesting romance too. Kind of a fun and interesting read.

This book alternated in how good it was. I had to mark down some points for some irritating elements. The hero is pretty cool, kind, and caring. I liked the heroine... mostly. She's kickass and stands up for herself. I like that she didn't back down to her brother when he was being a douche... however, what follows is all spoilery so I can rant.

So... this book was good AND bad. I wouldn't recommend it. Just not worth it. Even if it was some good.

Dr.Drew Cooper finds himself kidnapped by another pack whose alpha Zeke wants him to try and heal his mother who overdosed on the drug Serenity X-15 over 20 years ago and has been in a coma ever since. Drew is intrigued with this development as no one has survived this long before and X-15 is one of his pet projects to find a cure for. He decides to help and then he meets the alpha's sister, and it seems getting kidnapped has it benefits as Chloe is his mate. Chloe can't believe her brother Zeke wants her to house a wolf he just kidnapped and before she can so no, she scents that he is her mate. Chloe does not want a mate she feels she is a broken wolf. Now Drew must find a cure for her mother and convince Chloe that she is not broken and will be an amazing mate. A big thank you to Celia Kyle and Marina Maddix for the thoroughly entertaining review copy. Love this series. Highly recommend these authors.

Drew Cooper doesn't want to give in to his kidnappers but once they mention the X- 15 poison his interest perks up, which gets even hotter when the owner of the house he is taken to returns home.

Chloe has had a long day at work and all she wants is a long bath but all her plans go awry when she gets home and her brother has brought the doctor he kidnapped there. At first sh refuses to allow him to stay but then his scent does all sorts of things to her wolf who demands to be free to follow them.

Thus begins an up and down ride to forever love. Once again this dynamic duo has given us a warm and fuzzy feeling and a wolf/man to die for as the saying goes. I voluntarily chose to read an advance copy and have not been compensated in any way for this honest opinion.

The Healer and The Teacher

Dr Drew Cooper has just been kidnapped by the Soren Alpha and his Circle, in broad daylight no less. Drew's not worried, he knows Mason will be coming for him. When Zeke Soren tells the story of his mother's illness, he has to help. He tries to call off Mason. No mater what Zeke thinks, a war with the Blackwood pack won't end well for the Soren Pack. Drew is no pushover, he spent his teen years sparing with the Blackwood Alpha and his brothers, he can take care of himself.

Chloe Soren is the daughter of an Alpha and sister to the current Soren Alpha. Chloe lives outside the Pack. A tragic accident when she was 8, destroyed her once happy childhood. She lost her father's love, and her mother to a drug induce catatonic state over the guilt for the injuries Chloe suffered. The Pack followed her fathers lead. Her only comfort was her older brother Zeke and his circle. At 18 she put herself through college and has made herself a life teaching other peoples kids. A job she loves. She moved home to be close to her brother, but stays away from the pack.

Zeke has just brought pack business to Chloe's door. One look, one sent of Drew and Chloe has to help. Her wolf says he is hers. Chloe is broken, Drew deserves a perfect mate.

Drew understands broken. He left his pack and abusive home at 16 and found his way to the Blackwood pack. Taken in by the sons of the Alpha, he found a home with the Blackwood healer and his mate. He was inspired to become a healer, found he had an affinity for it and went to veterinary school to have a paying career. Now he has to convince Chloe that she is his not matter what.

Fast paced, sweet and a little steamy. Love the alpha side of Drew. Loved Drew and Chloe's story.

This is an OK shifter romance, but it was too short to have enough character development. I would have liked more backstory on both Drew and Chloe.

I really liked Drew and Chloe, but thought that it would have taken longer for him to trust her, since he was kidnapped by her pack. He knew she was his mate, but seems to me that he would have wondered if she at least knew her brother was planning to kidnap him. Once they got past that issue, though, I thought they were good together.

Overall, it was a quick, mildly entertaining read. It does feature instalove, but that is typical in shifter romances. If you are looking for a quick shifter read, with some steamy scenes, this is a good choice.

My rating system is below.
1 star -- Hated it, or did not finish. I usually only give this rating if some of the content is truly objectionable to me, like if one of the main characters does something really awful, and gets away with it.
2 stars -- Didn't like it. This rating usually means that I thought the writing wasn't very good, the editing was terrible, I didn't like the characters, or it had other major flaws.
3 stars -- I liked it, but had some minor issues with it. This rating means that there were minor editing issues, the story needed more character development, it was just too unrealistic, or had some other fairly minor issue. The majority of books I read get this rating – I do not consider it a bad rating.
4 stars -- I liked it a lot. This is a high rating for me, and I rarely give a higher one.
5 stars -- I loved it, and will probably read it again. Very few books are good enough to get this rating from me. The ones that do are usually classics.

I always enjoy reading books by Celia Kyle. I love her writing and find that her books contain a good story with tons of humor and romance. They are the type of books that make you feel good to read them. I've been enjoying Marina Maddix because of her writing with Kyle. I don't know if I'd have tried her otherwise. It's hard to know every author.

I just love Drew and Chloe. What I love about Drew is his loyalty to his pack. Even when kidnapped he wouldn't give in to the other pack's demands. That is until Chloe shows up. It's so funny how quickly he changes his mind after seeing her. I love how they work together and because they are mated you understand why they fall for each other so quickly.

You really want to know if he can help Chloe's mom but worry about what will happen if he can't. You feel for both Drew and Chloe. He sees the unhappiness of Chloe and understands the defeated look. His past isn't the greatest until he leaves his old life and finds his new pack.

As a whole, this is an enjoyable novella that reads like a full-size book. I think you'll find that it's a fun book to read and want to read the whole series.

This is a quick read. If you haven’t read the other books in this series you probably won’t understand everything that’s going on in this story.

The blurb is a little different than what actually happens in the book. Drew agrees to help Zeke, Chloe’s brother, before he even meets her. He agrees to help because of the drug that was used on their mother. It also says, “the alpha who snatched him just happens to be Chloe's over-protective big brother”. Well if he was that over-protective he wouldn’t have left Drew in her house alone with her.

I liked knowing Drew’s story, but there’s just something missing. It was all too neat and tidy with how everything happened. And really, during the twenty years their mother was comatose Drew is the only one who thought about how to cure her? It says in the book, “Trina Edgecomb—sister to Warren, the pack beta. She was whip smart and had cared for Zeke and Chloe’s comatose mother for years. Drew couldn’t think of a better person to assist him with the case.” Well if she was so “whip smart” she could have figured it out with how easy it was to come up with a solution! I actually rolled my eyes when I read what happened with their mother. It was supposed to be emotional, but for me it just wasn’t.

I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.

It starts with a kidnapping, then just gets better! I love a story that hooks you from the first few pages, just like this one did! I loved how Dean and Chloe fell into each other and the rest of the story just grew around them. The characters here are so down to earth and just like people you know, damaged but highly functioning anyway, you can't help but love them all. I can relate to Chloe with her alternative curses, and the release that comes when she finally can speak freely ... because teacher club "rules" are ingrained. I wasn't sure how I felt about Trina, I thought maybe she had some evil intent. When you read the part with the post it note and her quickness to move past it, like was she hiding something or did she have knowledge of that compound like who supplied it or something? I am still curious because it must have been significant, otherwise what was the purpose of having it in there, right? Maybe it's a precursor to a deeper plot twist in a future book, lol, I guess I'll have to wait and see. Obviously I loved this book, Celia Kyle is an automatic buy for me, and Marina Maddix is also high on my must read list too. Definitely this should be read ASAP because it is absolutely worth stopping what you're doing to read this right now!

I really enjoyed this story! It was a fun, quick read. Drew is kidnapped in the very beginning of the book so that he kept help heal someone. It's the alpha's mom and his mate's. He gets to meet his mate because of this kidnapping. Things happen quickly in this story but things don't feel rushed. The time period that everything happens in, is just a few days but it all works. Drew handles the situation beautifully, especially with what his mate has been through. She has a great big brother but did not have a great childhood. Drew understands and is willing to be patient and work through things with her, while also standing up and showing her what her worth is. I loved getting to know the two of these characters better. The sex is explicit but not frequent and doesn't play a large role in the story. There is definitely sexual chemistry and some foreplay. Everything is blended together well and there's a little bit of action and intrigue as well but these story isn't high on the conflict. I really enjoyed it and am excited to head back to Blackwood and hopefully catch up with the rest of the pack in the next book.

Drew gets waylaid on his way home after a hard day at his Vet practice. He is not exactly happy about being kidnapped but he does give the offending Alpha some leeway when he finds out that he is needed to help with the effects of X 15 again.

But when he is stashed at the Alpha's sisters home, off pack lands, he gets the shock of his life. Chloe is his mate! Now he just has to save her mum, win over her brother, ditch the wannabe suitor and get her to agree to be his mate!

Drew is a great lead. The right mix of confident, aggressive and possessive with a soothing personality to temper his desires. Chloe was so badly treated by her father I just wanted to smack him! She deals with her misfortunes well but really feels confused and unsure how to deal with these feelings that she has for Drew.

Zeke really needs to dial down the Alpha! His handling of Drew and Chloe leaves a lot to be desired. Although there is a HEA for the couple, they are not without tragedy.

It was a bit short and could have done with being a bit longer (the action essentially takes place over only a few days!) Looking forward to visiting with the Blackwood Wolves again!

Dr draw gets kidnaps by siren pack alpha... in a attempt to save the alpha mom. Little does the alpha know he’s about to put the dr into the paths of his little sister.. Chloe after a accident that changes her life forever. Putting her mom into a depression state of mind, Chloe hole pack turns on her. Forcing her to move out of pack land starting a life all in her own. Can this dr bring her mother back to her and also be her happy ever after?? Draw makes a brave chose to try save Chloe mom and admit to Chloe he’s he fated mate?

This book.. great but Could of been a heck better. No drama really considering the alpha kidnapped a healer. Would of though the blackwing alpha would of still been the psychopath he is would of come looking for the healer that also he’s close mate. How the mom come around. Could of been a lot better. More heart warming then it was.
Really good short read. It’s good how the author is also telling what’s going on with over people and carrying on really well to the other books just really think could of been better.

"Real Men Heal" returns to the fast-paced excitement reminiscent of the series' first book.

This short yet engaging installment focuses on Drew, the healer of the pack. While he isn't one of the brothers, Drew's story still provides an intriguing look into the pack's dynamics and adds depth to the world the authors have built.

This book delivers a dynamic storyline with a satisfying mix of suspense, action, and the signature dash of spice that fans have come to love. Like the previous books, "Real Men Heal" is an enjoyable listen that keeps you hooked from start to finish.

Overall, "Real Men Heal" is a strong addition to the series, continuing to offer the excitement and charm that define these stories. If you're looking for short books to listen to and help get your reading goal over the line, these ones will do it. If you're a fan of fast-paced shifter romances and eager to explore more of the pack's diverse characters this could be for you.

This is Drew and Chloe's story . Drew just got off work when he is kidnapped ! He realized that even though they fought him to get him into the car no one really hurt him in any way so he knows they need him healthy , for what he is not sure . During the car ride he learns exactly why he was taken and makes the decision to help them on his own he has them call his Alpha in the hopes of stopping a war . Chloe is headed home after a long day of teaching 5th graders and a parent teachers meetings . All she wants is a hot bath , a beer and to relax watching some movies . What she gets is her brother the Alpha's beta's SUV taking up all her driveway . From here this story will keep you reading ( if like me late into the night to finish !) . This is well written and recommended to all .

Drew Cooper is Blackwood’s pack healer. The Soren pack have kidnapped him. Someone in their pack has the Serenity X-15 virus and is in need of a cure. But Drew isn’t easily swayed. He knows his pack will come for him. When he sets his eyes on Chloe, the Alpha’s sister, things take a big turn. He knows she is his mate but is he willing to help them and try to keep her.

What kind of father treats his daughter that way? Even though her father is gone, still. You find out a great deal about what happened not just to her mother but also to Chloe. Zeke is the Alpha of the Soren pack. You know there will have to be a story about that pack too. I’m glad that Drew finally found his true mate. He is such a sweet guy and deserves to be happy. Chloe is so funny with the way she tries to not cuss because she is a teacher. I love these two together.

I absolutely loved the latest in this series from Celia Kyle & Marina Maddix! When Dr. Drew Cooper is kidnapped from his pack's lands and taken by another pack to help them out the last thing he expected was the alpha's sister waking up the mate bond inside him, but that's what happens when he meets Chloe Soren. Chloe has made a comfortable life for herself away from her pack and her brother, the alpha, but everything changes when she comes home to fin and her brother, some of the pack and another shifter bound to a chair all in her house. Drew and Chlie meet under some of the worst conditions and yet that bond will not be ignored and they both are given the chance at the future they want. But business first for Drew and then hoping the fall out of falling for the alpha's sister is not too much for either to handle. I voluntarily reviewed an Advanced Reader copy of this book.

House Calls.....

Dr. Drew Cooper Veterinarian and healer for the Blackwood Pack never thought he'd be snatched walking out of his office by a bunch of smarky wolves from an unknown pack, If he had known that he would find the craziest cussin' hot lips he did, he would've volunteered to go himself.

Chloe Soren never imagined she would walk into her home and find her crazy A#* alpha brother watching Judge Judy while the hottest man she had ever seen was tied up in one of her chairs.....She shouldn't be having these wild fantasies about a hot man as broken as she is, but her dormant wolf is yipping at her insides and it's a feeling she never thought would emerge in her. Will her father's words when she was 8 years old come to haunt her again, or will the sweet mannered Dr. cure her ailments?

What's a little kidnapping when it puts you in the path of your fated mate, right? For Drew, it's all good. Sure, he has a snarly brother to get around and a slightly reluctant mate to woo, but it's FATED, man. Fated.

On her part, Chloe has a few mental speed bumps to get over before she feels like she can be with Drew. Besides his not to great introduction to her brother's pack, circumstances have left her feeling like an outsider in her own pack and it takes time before she's in the right head space to accept that Drew is her one and only.

Kidnapping, poison, a dominance fight or two, and meddling packmates keep Drew and Chloe on their toes.

But hey. When it comes down to a fated mate for a werewolf, nothing's too difficult. Right?

I love this series. After being kidnapped by Zeke Soren an alpha from another pack Drew Cooper was not happy. But he could not stop from wanting to help when he found out what they needed What he did not plan on was finding his mate which also happens to be the alpha's sister. Chloe Soren seperated herself from her pack, she knew they all looked down on her. After a horrible accident that hurt her and changed her mother forever, her own father looked down on her. But her life was changing, she found her mate, but could he love her the way she was even after she told him the truth? Great story of healing and life changing. Wish the book took the ending a bit farther to see more into their future, but a great read anyway.

I have liked this series. I think as well as being well put together this one is a favorite of mine. I do wish it was a tad longer and we're missing a little of the action or conflict. It seemed a little short but maybe she didnt have a ton to tell about Drew and Chloe. In my opinion this was more of the emotional romance between mates when things arent all happy and you got secrets. Anyone else wanna murder her a-hole of a Dad? For doing such a shameful thing to an 8 year old little girl? WTF....I get being all messed up with grief but to your child? Too bad that a-hole is dead already I'd kill him twice. Anywho I loved her skill of cussing. I totally get it because you know kids I have to get creative too haha. I enjoyed the story though.

If you're in the mood from something short yet intriguing this book may just be for you.

Drew Cooper is kidnapped by another wolf pack to help heal someone who means a lot to them.
Let me just say that he is an awesome wolf/man. He forgives them rather quickly. One because he is a healer and understands and two....well because of this he meets his mate.
Chloe is hopeful that Drew can do what no one else has been able to do. She is pissed off that her alpha took Drew by force and treated him so poorly but how mad can she stay when she realizes that he is her fated mate. A mate she never thought she would have.

The story may be short, but it is deep with a sweet closing and an all around good feel.

Very enjoyable book / series

Kindle unlimited purchase
By Celia Kyle
Drew is the healer of the Blackwood pack. He has had the worst day and the best day of his life. You ask how can the day be BOTH? Well after he closed the vet's office he gets wolf-napped then hours later he meets his mate for the very first time.
Chloe is a teacher. She never thought she would find her mate much less find him in her front room of all places.
I enjoyed this book as I did 1 - 3. This book was still about the Blackwood pack. But it ONLY had the Blackwood pack healer in the book. The other characters that I have come to love were missed. I also missed this book being in audio because at the time I read this book only books 1-3 were available. But I know I'll keep an eye out and as soon as the books start to be available I'll rerent them

Drew and Chloe

Drew is healer of the Blackwood pack, and an expert on an obsecure drug that has horrific effects on werewolves.
Chloe is the Soren pack alpha’s sister. When her brother kidnaps Drew, for his help with healing a case, she is horrified.
Drew knows Chloe is his mate, but something is holding her back...

This is book four of the series, and the transitional book between the Blackwood and Soren packs.
Like the others in the series, it’s a sexy PNR, although our hero this time is a healer rather than an alpha.
The series is an enjoyable one, the characters well rounded and rather engaging. Each book has just enough drama to make it exciting, but not so much you’re afraid to keep reading 😉.
These are fun books to read, and any PNR buff will enjoy them.

I'm really enjoying this series if was a great continuation to the series. The drama was at a minimum but that didn't take away from the story my only issue was with the alpha Zeke. I know that desperate time call for desperate measures but I loss all respect for Zeke when he try to attack Drew. And when he saw that he didn't have a chance of winning he allowed his pack to hang up on Drew so he could win. No honor or integrity not a good look for a alpha. Overall it was a enjoyable and entertaining read. I voluntarily read and review this ARC no monetary compensation was received the opinions I have expressed are my own.

Another wonderful addition to this series by two of my favorite authors! In this story we find the adorable vet/pack healer Drew, kidnapped by a pack who is looking for his assistance with healing a sick pack mate. While Drew is hesitant to help anyone kidnapping him, he empathizes and is intrigued by the patients case. Much to Drew's astonishment, he finds his fated mate, Chloe, is the sister of his kidnapper and the patient is her mother.

This was a quick read with a HEA ending and no cliffhanger. The only thing I felt this story was missing was an appearance from Charlie and his adorably named cats!

Drew is abducted by an over eager Alpha.
The question is why?
If the Soren Alpha needed a healer all he had to do was ask.
Even after Drew tells the Alpha that his actions could spark a war with the Blackwood pack, the Alpha refuses to back down.
Doesn't seem to smart to me.
But all Alpha's aren't gifted in the brains department.
Brain over braun I suppose.
Drew is intrigued after learning what ails his would be patient.
Even more so when he finds his mate in the Alpha's sister Chloe.
Will Drew be able to treat the patient or is it too late?

I received an advanced reader copy of this book and am leaving a voluntary review.
