Demon Bound

Rate this book
Survival is the name of the game, and the angels are losing.
Too bad I am one of them.

The Almighty abandoned Earth after the ultimate battle between Heaven and Hell, closing St. Peter’s pearly gates forever. Locking out any angel still on Earth.

Alone and defenseless for fifty years.

My name is Veroseline, and the Almighty’s silence is the least of my problems. Our stronghold, Resvener, has a barrier that is sucking our angelic power dry to keep the demons at bay, but it doesn’t work on zombies itching for a nibble.
I am running myself in circles trying to keep us all safe.

Then everything changes for me when an irritatingly sexy and cocky Akmon shows up. I accidentally mistake him for an angel and save his life, creating a powerful debt-bond between us.

My reward? He knocks me out and drags me away to be his prisoner. All the while bragging about how he was the demon who seduced Eve… and almost every other human being throughout history.

Now the humans have gone, and it looks like I’m his next target.
But the more time I spend with Akmon — the muddier the lines between angel and demon become. I’m falling for him, but danger looms too close for comfort.

Can sworn enemies work together to stop an ancient evil lurking right under our noses?

Okay,

First off, let me start by saying it was a complete coincidence I stumbled into this. I'm not normally a fan of zombies. That said, this book is sooooo much more. (And, I never thought I'd find a book that made me CARE FOR A FRICKIN ZOMBIE!!!)

Stuck in a post-apocalyptic world where all humans were turned into zombies the story follows Vero, the Angel, and Akmon, the Demon. Now, mind you, the first thing I told my best friend was that I thought pairing an angel with a demon was cliche. And I stand by that. However, there really isn't a story out there that can be written without a cliche trope or a few cliche phrases etc. It's all in HOW it's done. And this... this was done sensationally! Yes, they start off wary of each other, but they learn there's more to the other person than what they were told. They learn to respect each other which turns to trust and it's an around fun ride to be on, to read the banter and root for them or join in when they get angry.

I loved every second of it and plan to reread soon!

Oh my God! This book is Soo good! The chemistry between our badass protagonist (Vero) who is just trying to survive and ackrmon a good old demon (and a very important one) is just phenomenal. It didn't just contain one conflict, first we are just trying to survive in this action packed world filled with zombies and demons.

..then Vero gotta worry about not turning into a demon herself.
(*Aaaa internal screaming filled with excitement*)

All I'm saying is this book made my quarantine ten times better!

I absolutely loved this book! I enjoyed seeing how characters developed and how the relationships between each character changed over time. I think it was pretty interesting seeing how the story played out with the mix of angels, demons, and zombies. It was something different and that made it so great. My favorite character was definitely Nurse, he was so funny and the scene where he went to heaven was so sweet, and I was so happy with the way all the zombies were able to go to heaven. I can't wait for the next book!

I'm always up for a good Angels and Demons book but this book was beyond what I expected; in a good way. It was a little slow to start off but once it picked up, it really got me hooked. If I didn't have a three year old to entertain I would have read this book in a day or two. When this book comes out on August 2nd, you will not be disappointed. Go ahead and read it!

This book was amazing. This book was more then just angels and demons. This book was a bit slow to get into but once you get in and all the actions starts it was hard to put down. The book ending was amazing and cant wait to read more in the Shackled series and more from this is author as it was a first time read.

I really enjoyed the building relationship between Akmon and Vero. Didn't really know how it would turn out, but I am glad that ended with a HEA. Great character development and lots of action that had me gasping at times! Will definitely read more from this author!

Okay I literally just finished this book, like 2 minutes ago. Once I first started, I just could not put it down! Angels and Demons have never been hotter! Akrmon is the original demon who seduced Eve at the beginning of time in the Garden of Eden. But he defiantly was not in his snake form it was his other snake he used (his words not mine!). Veroseline is a kick butt angel who is hiding out on earth with the others of her kind who are just trying to stay alive during this zombie outbreak when it seems their Almighty has abandoned all of them. ABANDON HOPE ALL YEE WHO ENTER HERE. (Okay sorry could not help myself.) But when on a mission to protect the strong hold Vero comes across what she thinks is an angel about to be devoured by a horde of zombies, it turns out to be a demon and she has just made a huge mistake. Now with a bond between them Akromon and Versoeline must work together to save themselves and others from the Demon Army that is coming to the gates of Eden. But with the threat of Vero becoming a demon and losing her soul be to much for Akrmon to risk when it comes to finding love for the first time in all his years? When this book is released August 1st DO NOT think about it just go buy it, I promise you wont be disappointed.

Wow. This was the first book I’d read by this author, but it won’t be the last. From the chemistry between Akmon and Veroseline to Akmon’s hilarious, twisted sense of humor, it was a blast.
