Fix Me is the seventh book in the TAT: A Rocker Romance series, but was written to be read as a standalone for those who don’t want to read the first six.
Cal Dorian is the lead guitarist for the number one rock band in the world, Thick as Thieves. He is no stranger to getting his ass kicked by love. Then, the girl he loved as a teenager, the same one he threw away as a rock star is the one who holds him up when his life crashes around him.
Jenny Pope is used to being the black smudge in Cal’s world. Her mistakes and addictions made her the one thing he hated most. Then, after entering his life again as a strong, self-assured sober Jen she is faced with who he was, and who he is now. When the truth of their past makes it to the surface, will they be able to survive the pain they caused?
NB: Please note that the series numbering on Goodreads is different for this book
DNF... I didn't get all that far into this. Reading about how the lead female lead her life had me cringing. She was pretty much a used up jizz rag. She's been passed around by members of the band and some at the same time. She willingly made herself a door mat. She's been disrespected, treated like absolutely garbage and goes back for more. I have no sympathy for people who volunteer to be victims of mental or physical abuse. And the lead douche is a complete dick head. After years of using her for his own pleasure or whatever he wants, then humiliating her, degrading her when he's done, all of a sudden he wants her for real? All because some other decent guy has shown interest in her. This was just a toxic and gross relationship. I couldn't really even start to care for these two sorry sacks. So it's a hard pass.
DNF - but still had to skim, so maybe a 1.75. Agree with @bitchy . Little spoiler. HEA was a doormat while the male lead blames HEA for not running to him after treating her like shit and blowing her off, even acknowledging he enjoyed seeing her in pain, knowing she was going to fuck his friends but wish it was him, as he walked away with a 'no thanks, I'm going to fuck someone else'.
Find a fourth grader to edit your grammar and spelling. Why are you such a good story teller with such shitty spelling and grammar??? I think your story is tight but I'm cringing from champagne being spelled "Champaign". I know it was the alcoholic beverage because it was referred to as "Crystal" and not Cristal.
This book was really intense at the end but full of love as well. If you can get past the terrible grammar, etc., the story was really good! There is closure for all of the main characters so that is satisfying. Loved the characters and their stories.
I would have like to say that this was a great ending to a great series but this book fell flat. I was read all of the books and could recall what had happened without having to reread but I don't remember Raleigh at all so he confused me with what he had to do with this series. I still didn't care for Tally or Bright. I don't recall any of the wives ever forgiving Jenny and yet they were all one big happy family. Not sure how that came about since she slept with each and everyone of their husbands. I was hoping to get some redemption for Jenny but I still didn't really care for her. This book was such a snooze fest I had a hard time keeping myself going. I can normally read a book in one day and this one took me four. I just didn't see Cal and Jenny as having a HEA. If it took him 10 years to finally realize he loved her I don't buy it. Also not sure who did the edits on this book but they sure missed a lot. So many word misspelled and it was very distracting. Not the best from this author.
This last book, in what has been a beautiful and yet equally dark series. FIX ME is everything I have come to expect and crave from this amazing author. No relationship in this series has ever been easy and this messed up couple are no exception. If I'm honest I really disliked Jenny intitally but over the series she has steadily grown on me, to the point that she's one of my favourite characters. I guess the old saying of don't judge others until you have walked in their shoes, is kind of fitting here as Jenny's path is one that many weaker individuals would not have over come and yet she did. It's a fitting end to what has to have been one of my aĺl time favourite series. Melanie as always You're amazing and I can't wait for what's next xxx
I have frantically read every book in the TAT series. I love these guys and their women. Cal and Jenny Pope have been in it since the beginning and who knew what would end up with those two. I truly hated Cal for his disgusting treatment of Jen back when the band got famous. The journals were brilliant, a way for Cal to realize what he had done to Jen while drunk and high on tour. He made her what she was and he deserved to read about it and suffer. She was the strong one, with Axe and all the shit with rehab. Thank God for a HEA. Thanks Mel.
An awesome series from book 1 to now. I have cried, laughed, cheered, and got fussed at by my kid who complained I was always reading lol. I told her I just had to read a few more pages and two hours later she was complaining again lol. It was hard to put this book down. I am so glad the next series, PIT, has had a few books published because I am not ready to say goodbye to these characters. Do yourself a favor and buy all Melanie Walker books like I did, you won’t regret it I promise.
If you enjoy reading at all. I think you should read at least one of these books. Stunningly poignant with so much beauty in the darkness that exists in this World. This books heart could be Cal for some, certainly Jenny she has worked so hard to become a woman she herself likes. This book, for me, was completely stolen by Axe. The importance of this sweet little saucy man and his ultimate impact to this novel and group of characters will stay with me forever.
I am so sad this is over. I loved this series . I haven’t slept in 2 day . I couldn’t even tell you how a found it but I read the first book through the last in love with all of them . Noah is by far the best written Alfa male in a long while . I will be reading them over and over
Through a heartbreaking narrative, the book delves into profound sadness, tackling tough topics with unflinching honesty! The main characters have gone through so much misery and hardship during this series, and this book is no exception 😢 so much suffering, tragedy, despair, love and resilience! It was definitely an emotional journey..
TAT has been my favorite book series to date. I love the rawness and realness of the characters and their stories. This book wrapped up their stories and gave them peace. Love it.
Love me some TAT! This author has had me sucked into the TAT world since book one and I hate to say goodbye 😢 such a great series, makes you feel like part of the family ❤️. Can’t wait for P.I.T 😆
