“Trump Dog” is funny fast-paced political satire that takes place several years in the future when people come to believe Donald Trump was reincarnated as a dog. The main character is a struggling, down-on-his-luck freelance artist, named Jerry Kendall. One day Jerry goes to an animal shelter and adopts a big, rambunctious and unruly mutt named Mabel. Through a fluke accident, neighbors and the media come to mistakenly believe that Mabel is the reincarnation of Donald Trump. Even though Jerry knows this belief is untrue, he continues to perpetuate the reincarnation myth for the sake of fame and riches. However, all of the attention to Jerry and “Trump Dog” quickly becomes overwhelming as it wreaks havoc on Jerry’s life. He is confronted regularly with extortionists, attempted dog kidnappers, Trump haters, and Trump-loving fanatics. If you enjoy wacky political humor (especially liberal humor), Trump jokes, or dog humor, this short entertaining book is a must read.
Posting just about in time for the Swearing in ceremony for US President elect Joe Biden.
This is a humorous fiction story that is a light hearted jab at Donald Trump who is by now widely regarded as one of the most scandalous President in US political history.
Fast forward many years to a time when Donald Trump is no longer alive, but believed to be reincarnated in a different body. A Dog. Yeah you read that correct 😅
Its the story of Jerry Kendall and his dog Mabel who he adopted thinking to bring a fun companion into his otherwise boring life, specially dating life. Jerry has been never attracted too interest from Women on his dating profile and was hoping, adding "Dog owner" to his profile would probably do his chances some good. Little did Jerry know what was coming his way.
A freak accident paints an image of Donald Trump on Mabel's chest. Jerry decides to cash in, thinking no harm in getting his 2 minutes of fame, untill the hoax spirals out of control and takes over his entire life.
Every time Jerry thinks of coming clean, he gets yet another lucrative offer coming his way, and the wheel goes on. Jerry now has many women on his dating wanting to meet him after all. As with any hoax, its only a matter of time, before its found out and everything comes crashing.
Will Jerry recover his life in time or is there some permanent damage waiting as a catastrophe? Read to find out this hilarious take on politics and how it affects our lives.
This was kind of an fun book to read and certainly did describe the people who love and hate Trump very well. Poor Jerry Kendall decides to get a rescue shelter dog and gets much more than he bargained for. Mabel, aka, Trump Dog, is a mess! A dog that does exactly what she wants - sleeps where she wants, poops where she wants and doesn't obey any commands. OMG, did I just describe someone you might be familiar with?? Anyway, Mabel makes a mess one day while eating a pumpkin pie that magically leaves an impression of Donald Trump on her chest. Suddenly she becomes the dog and story of the hour. People love her! People hate her! Is she really an incarnation of the late Donald Trump? Jerry becomes embroiled in one lie after another with the media regarding Mabel and now you have to read the rest of the story to see where he and his misbehaving dog wind up. Whether you love Trump or not, this is a good parody about the crazy, political atmosphere we are living in.
An ironic story, full of subtle and not so subtle, digs at the "late" president. The author puts a light on how people react to the idea of Trump's reincarnation in a dog, and a not very intelligent dog at that! He hits the spot on ridiculous reactions to even more ridiculous situations. A fun read but I have to admit I liked the note of what happened when Trump had to leave the White House. So much like him!!!!!
What a crazy story! When Mabel the dog accidentally gets pumpkin smeared across her chest, it takes on a resemblance to Donald Trump. Suddenly the Trump fans are in a frenzy over the dog. The craziness that erupts is--well, crazy. The last couple of chapters are hilarious. Loved it.
Satire at its best! It mirrors the insanity of the fall election and gives a hint of karma. It also shows how a lie can come back and bite you. It was quite the unique story with moments of hilarity.
I am not a fan of Donald Trump but this story is a short and hysterical read. Sort of explains why his followers are as nutty as he is and all he really is, is a big blob of poop
An amusing and quick read about Trump Dog, yes, a dog who bears a resemblance on his fur to Donald J. Trump. The concept is crazy, but the book made me laugh. It was apolitical. Even Trump’s “China virus” made an appearance.
Read a funny non-partisan book about Trump Dog and the ensuing foibles of owning an animal resembling Donald Trump. Jabs and darts are delivered equally to the haters and lovers. Takes political out of politics to make you laugh.
Really captured the cult like obsession of the fans of the orange one, from the MATA hatted white bros, to the blackmailing former acquaintance, to the hot/cold reactions of the media.
The idea behind this book is interesting and timely. The execution isn't as funny as the idea though. The book also is one chapter too long; the end is anticlimactic and a bit of a let down.
With the way Trump is behaving right now I would swear that Jim Tilberry could see into the future. It is hilarious I laughed and forgot for a few that we are battling a pandemic.
I laughed so hard my family thought I lost my mind. This reminds me of the saying oh what tangled webs we weave when we practice to deceive. If you need a fun read I highly recommend this book.
Comical!!!! Read during the Corona Virus Pandemic of 2020. The things that happened during this book were pretty entertaining and oh meet Karma too. Great job you lightened the mood.
Would you believe that Trump is reincarnated as a dog? Well, apparently he is a rescue dog adopted from a humane society. I won’t reveal how his chest fur became so perfectly shaped as Trump’s head. This is one nutty plot with many unbelievable events. It is good for some laughs at the very least.
For my reading challenge this month, I had to read a book set in the future. I cannot stand science fiction, so searched around for options. Fussy Librarian offered this e-book for free and I downloaded it. It fills the bill, as it is set some time in the future, after Donald Trump has died. This is the story of a man who adopts a dog. Due to some mischief on the dog's part, it winds up creating a stain on its fur. The stain looks like a profile of Donald Trump. (Interesting allegory.) Well, this makes the dog's owner a bit of a celebrity, for good or bad. The book is not particularly well written, the situations are repetitive, and the characters are predictable, to say the least. I cannot recommend in any way, but it does allow me to check this month's reading challenge off the list.
