Alone, devastated, and on the run, McKenzie Harper is crossing the country with her brother, the only ally left to her after losing not only her mates but their entire family to some mad corporate scheme. When those same corporations send her mates after her, she will have to fight to save them before they slaughter her, or worse, capture her.

For MacKenzie it is the end of her whole world and she won’t go down without a fight.

Read other books by this author in the future: yes
MC: MacKenzie, Preston, Rainer, Anton, Jarret
SC: Gus,Cristof, Ross(bad guy),

This is my review for all three books.

Overall the series is a solid three start rating for me. I have read other books of Rebecca Royce and I really like her books. But this one was one of the weakest I have read so far. The idea of someone trying to reveal the werewolf’s to human kind, when all of them are dead is a new one for me. Most books want to reveal shifter to the human kind. Also that an Omega is born, when there are no Omegas and she lives hidden, because shifting is not allowed.

Overall I enjoyed the series, sometimes it seemed to stretch but the second and third book were much shorter than the first one.

Summery of the series:

At the end of book one all of MacKenzie’s mates are lost to her. Worse even is that somehow all her mates marks are gone along with any connection she shared with them. Having lived all her life hiding who she was, the last thing MacKenzie is about to do is give up and go back to a fake human life. As the only female Omega with powers to save her kind and her men she somehow begins saving so many of her people she in turn builds her own army. Luck would have it she just may need that army because the enemy is not exactly who or what they were expecting. Still find parts of the dialogue and drama strange but given how fast I’m flying through this audio I won’t complain. It was pretty heartbreaking to see their new bond get fractured in such a way. MacKenzie even needs coaxing back into their arms as the fear of losing them again would be too much to bear. When the enemy strikes again in the end it does leave a big ? on how everything will end. But given what MacKenzie can do and what she’s already overcome, I’m not worried, I just hope no one else needs to die-at least from the good guys side I mean 😜!

Would you like some cheese with that whine?

This book was complete filler. We have Kenzie either bemoaning her existence as an Omega or inner monologuing about how strong she was as a werewolf. The entire book was one big whine-fest on her part and it got old, fast. The exciting parts, like saving her family or meeting new werewolves, get glossed over while the whining takes precedence. There were so many parts that were repetitive. Definitely not a great second book in the series and I may give the finale a hard pass when it comes out. Disappointing to say the least.

Talk about jumping into one feet first thanks to having waited for this but kinda failed. When I seen McKenzie is already pushing my adrenaline button I started gobbling this quickly. You will also be pulled to the edge more than you can count. Oh how devastated I would feel but what has happened has only strengthened her resolve. The intrigue of the story will keep you stuck like glue thanks to the originality and mix of elements. The risks sometimes will try and take your breath but you know you have to hold on for more. Thanks to also it being paranormal there is the unexpected that mixes quite well. Oh though no mercy but oh sweet intensity we will be given with waiting for what will follow next.

I really liked the first book in this series and picked up the second as soon as it got out. When i was 10 % into it, I put it down cause it didn't catch my attention. Today I picked it up again and I was very disappointed.

Overall I though the story and the characters problems were superficial and lacking a lot of depth. Suddenly Mackenzie has "Midas touch" and can fix everything without any struggles in her way. Everything just seemed too easy. Mackenzie goes out on the road and fix everyone, no enemy appears to twat her plan and everything just goes smoothly, except for the mentioning of "the empty" which is never really explored further in depth. The dialogue also felt weird, out of place and not how a normal person would talk or explain things.

Fabulous sequel to Hidden! I wasnt sure what MacKenzie was going to do but I enjoyed that part of the story. It was gut wrenching in moments and I wanted to slap all the brothers for the crap they did/said but we all know it wasnt their fault and not really them. I love how strong but vulnerable Mac/Kenzie is. I loved how she interacted with the side character (loooove that her brother’s development haha) and really am loving some of those main characters that have some cheekiness, are BAs themselves. But certain ones need to shut up and let the pack make this work (meaning Kenzie and her men) and not interfere because they are scared. I am dyingggggg for book 3, but it comes out NEXT WEEK so I know what I am devouring next week as a reward for myself haha. I thought the twists at the end/the reveals about the baddie was a super interesting and refreshing concept and I am not sure how the guys are going to help Kenzie out with this one. (Cliffhanger wasnt as bad in this book as it was in book 1, but still made me want to chuck my tablet hahaha. I dont mind cliffhangers, just makes me itch for the next one but Rebecca is really great at continuing to crank out her books so no complaints from me ❤️❤️❤️

The narration was even better in book 2 than book 1. I absolutely loved Maya’s rendition and her various accents. It made the times when the guys were themselves even more amazing. Maya was able to elevate this story and really make it come to life in my head. I hope she can get book 3 done soon so I can listen to it hahaha.

100% would recommend these to paranormal audiobook lovers and any RH book lovers. I cannot wait to see what happens to the omega and her men and how they come together again with their ever-growing pack to defeat the bad guy and live in peace for once in a generation. Amazing job Rebecca and Maya, great combo that should continue in the future 😊

This book answered questions but I also got like a million more which I guess is typical in like a second book in a three book series. But damn every time I think I figured out this book I haven't.

So she got her mates back which is exactly what I expected to happen. How it happened however completely different story. I mean she fought and she fought which is fantastic. Really enjoyed her character development in this book where she became even stronger, more powerful. Though we did see like the realism of her doubt and how she really needed Preston to help her. And then again towards the end when she was speaking with the loup we really saw how overwhelmed and tired she is and how that made her super vulnerable to his control.

I'm definitely looking forward to the next one and seeing what the hell happens, how the hell this happened and what we're going to do about it. I mean if it took an omega to save every single one of these people, what's it going to take to save the Omega?

I feel like an idiot! I was so nervous to read this book because of the foreword warning me about the cliffhanger. I didn’t want to wait for the 3rd book if the cliffie was really bad. I kept starting and then stopping this one because I just wasn’t prepared for the level of cliffie that we got at the end of book 1. Well let me just say- the cliffhanger is NOT THAT BAD. There is a small cliffhanger, but it’s more of a ‘to be continued’ and it’s a totally natural stopping point in the story.

I love this series I think it’s so clever and a unique take on shifter lore. I like the characters and the plot. Even though it’s been a while since I read book 1, I was able to seamlessly jump back into the story and I wasn’t confused at any point. There are enough reminders to pick back up without being repetitive.

Very well done and I can’t wait for book 3

Excited for the conclusion

I have really enjoyed Kenzie's mission to reclaim her mates and cure the infected werewolves. Although I will admit that everything seems just a bit too easy. She instantly (for us, because there were weeks between book 1 and 2) finds her mates one by one. And somehow she NEVER comes across the Big Bad or the Hunters (that have been plaguing wolfkind since the dawn of time).

The actual information in this book was a bit slow but in excited to see the bad guys fall and MacKenzie & her mates to finally have a HEA.

Loved it

So in this one we find out more about what is really going on. She has lost her mates and is left in some confusion. Now she has to take a stand, figure some things out. I really can’t wait to see where this goes in book 3. This is such a unique shifter plot. I’ve really enjoyed this series and I’m excited to see how it will play out and definitely didn’t see some of the plot twists coming in this one.

What I liked about Kenzie was that she was honest with her feelings. She may not have known who or where she was in the beginning, but once she accepted what she couldn't remember, she began the process of healing. Finding out that she was the last of her kind, taking on the scariness of the unknown, and fighting against the evil just kept her struggle to survive at the forefront. I read all 3 stories in one sitting after the series was completed.

Good Read

This was another brilliant read that really drew me into the world that had been created and told me a story that captivated me from the very beginning. I loved how the story continued to unfold and the ending has me looking forward to seeing how everything ends in the next book. I would recommend giving it a read.

OMG! This second book in The Swamp Series is amazing! I loved both the book and Audiobook! The narrator of the audiobook is phenomenal, I love her voice! This book is full of steam, action, emotional highs and lows, as well as intrigue! The characters are just plain sinful and the storyline is unique and fantastic! I cannot wait for the next book in this awesome story!

I absolutely love this story! I love the extra little bits you get on each guy and I can’t believe how powerful of an omega Mackenzie it turning out to be! I know she will destroy everything thing that gets in her and the guys way but I can’t wait to find out what’s going to happen next/ how she and the guys fix the current situation.

Pursued the second in the swamp series. Super good. Action packed... so much going on that it definitely keeps your full attention.

I'm not a shifter genre reader... but i have loved these. Rebecca Royce's take of shifters paired with her writing style has made a great fun read.

Fab RH and super strong MC...

Fab read... really enjoyed it.

I was so completely obsessed with book one in this series, and I have to say that after reading book two, that obsession has not waned in the least. In fact, it may have just intensified. In my many favorite Rebecca Royce series, I do believe this one is at the tippy top. The intriguing and innovative plot continues to surprise and excite. And these characters have burrowed so deeply into my heart and mind at this point, they will never leave.

The four unique love stories work so seamlessly together, yet each is absolutely beautiful in its own right. McKenzie is one very lucky woman/wolf. The love of any one of these men would be considered a blessing, but to have the love of all four? Well, let’s just say I’ve never been more jealous of a fictional character in my entire life! Would you like to be loved unconditionally by four gorgeous and passionate men? “Nah, one is plenty for me,” said no woman in the history of ever. The answer to that question—should you ever be lucky enough to have it asked of you—should always be yes… followed by an enthusiastic please and thank you.

I will be equal parts saddened and thrilled to read the third book in this amazing trilogy when it comes out. I think I could read a book a month about these characters and not get bored, so I will definitely hate to see their story come to an end, but I have no doubt Ms. Royce will give them all the incredible send off they deserve. This series has been nothing short of epic thus far in my opinion, and I don’t expect that to change. If you have yet to read this spectacular series, what are you waiting for? You’re wasting precious time that could be spent obsessing over this series. Come on in. The water’s fine.

* I was given an ARC of this book and voluntarily chose to review. All of my opinions are entirely my own.

McKenzie's mating marks are gone, her mated no longer remember their bond and hunt her for their former enemies, she is on the run with her brother, and she is in pain. As the last Omega, she is in constant demand, even her dreams are invaded by those in need. She can't hold on much longer but she is determined to free her mates before she succumbs to the emptiness.

I really enjoyed the first book if this series; I loved this one! The challenges for McKenzie personally, the danger to the entire were-world make for a fantastic read. The fight in McKenzie is a trademark of this author. No one does strong, intelligent, brave, loving heroines like Rebecca Royce. McKenzie is not suicidal by any means but she is willing to sacrifice herself for the men she loves. Her strength is on full display in this book. Repeatedly attacked, physically and emotionally, many times by her own men, she remains standing. She puts herself at risk every moment of every day for others yet she is not a doormat. She ignores what she should, responds when necessary, and is ready to fight as needed. She is not like the former Omegas and the were-world should be grateful because she is their salvation. The Lejeune brothers continue to be among some of my favorite werewolves ever and I can't wait to see how they respond to this next challenge. Because it's time for them to step up and take over for McKenzie for the moment. Take note, the author makes it very clear that this book ends with a cliffhanger. One that you might suspect, one that presents the greatest challenge yet but one that you know will ultimately be handled in brilliant Rebecca Royce fashion leading up to the HEA we all want for this pack. I can't wait to return to the swamp for the final book!

Pursued: A Paranormal Romance (The Swamp Book 2) Kindle Edition
by Rebecca Royce
I received an eARC from the author and I am leaving an honest review voluntarily.
Rebecca makes a point in the foreword of the book that new readers need to harken to. This is not a stand-alone. You must read the first book and if you want the feels from a HEA, you need to read the next book. That said:
The story starts with MacKenzie and her brother on the run from the evil forces. They are roaming the country, seeking Loups to save and hoping to keep ahead of the big bads that want to capture her for their vile reasons. Unfortunately, those bads may include her mates...
One of the things I love about Ms. Royce's works is the way that older women usually hold the power and the knowledge. This occurs here with the female Alpha, Miranda. We can cast our eyes back to her other series like The Last Hope, where an older, long missing sister has the knowledge the characters need to move on and solve the problems.
This series is very sensory, since it people can turn furry. This allows Ms. Royce to created some of the best non-visual sensory pictures in the field.
The story twists and adds another level to their villains.
The love scenes are paced just right in the speed of the story and as sweet as a spicy and steamy.

All in all, another an amaze-balls book from Rebecca Royce. Read this series is the best advice you will get this week.

MacKenzie was finally starting to settle into her new life. Accepting not only shifting into her wolf but being an Omega. An Omega with mates. Then it was all ripped away from her. Now she's on the run. Hiding from her people who want to harm her and helping those along the way who need her as an Omega. It's a hard job on it's own but with her mates and their marks missing from her life she's struggling. She's determined to find her mates and set them free, even if it's the last thing she does.

So at the end of book one, Rebecca ripped my heart out and just stomped all over it. My poor poor Anton. While we do get some comfort in this book we are not at our happy ending just yet. MacKenzie is fighting to get her mates back. Just having them in her possession doesn't fix all the wrongs though. There is so much going on and they are slowly starting to put all the pieces together. They are also recovering from some enormous losses in book one.

It's hard to review the second book in a trilogy b/c I don't want to give too much away. I can say that I enjoyed this book just as much as the first book. MacKenzie shows us just how strong she can be which is something Rebecca always gives us, strong females. The story keeps developing at a good pace. As stated several times over now, this does not end with everyone all hunky dory. We have another ending that leaves us yelling NOOOOOO and waiting on pins and needles for the next book. It's a bumpy ride getting there for this little group but I have a feeling it's going to be so worth it all in the end.

Kenzie is an omega in generations. For some reason they all died and no more were born until her. Since the lack of the omegas (healer) werewolves were ordered to live lives like humans and no shifting , they could only mate with a human and they couldn't live in packs. If the shifted without the omegas around they would turn into the loup-garou and it was made a law .

The Lajeune Brothers: Rainer, Preston, Jarret, and Anton are her mates but in the last book they were taken from her so her brother Agustin got her out of that area and they are on the run.
In this book she is fighting back! Lots of stuff going on but wow what an amazing story. I am dieing to tell you all about but I can't lol its will spoil the fun of you reading it! So inhale to bite my tongue and keep the huge secret lol. I will say she meets a bad guy very powerful. Will she be about to beat him? We don't know yet it not in this story lol I could not put this story down I hung on every word. Awesome characters and there are new ones too! Action, drama, mystery, spice, and so much more. I can't wait for the next book to come out. I am hooked on this series

Wow, this book was so intense and powerful. Kenzie went through so much in the last book and it just carries on in this one. Her and her brother are just trying to stay ahead of the ones searching to either take her back or kill her. Her life was ripped apart having her mates taken. No she going to fight until she either get them back or die. Healing lost loups is taken a lot out of her. But Kenzie has more strength and power then she knows. She is going to need it big time.
This book moved so fast for me. So much was happening. So many ups, downs, twist and turns. I so rooting for them. They have been through so much. When I say action packed and intense I mean it. This book brought it all. I stayed up all night reading it. I couldn't put it down. Just when you think you're at a stopping point something else happens to draw you in. The ending I had to read twice. Now I'm living in anticipation waiting for book 3. I just know something more bad is going to happen. We're already at Def con 5, red alert people. Time to wolf out and rip out the throat of every bad guy. Let's go!
I received this book in exchange for an honest review. All these words of from my own opinion.

Mackenzie is truly one bada$$ female! Slowly learning how to use her Omega powers to save wolves that have turned into Loups through no fault of their own. Desperate to find her mates that were cruelly torn from her. She and her brother move from city to city in their RV determined to rejoin her small family. She knows they're out there, and she WILL find them! It doesn't help that she's never met another Omega before and therefore had no clue how this works. As far as she knows she's the last. However what she lacks in knowledge she makes up for in heart and determination! Making strong allies along the way she starts piecing together the conspiracy that's kept wolves down. Pieces of their histories lost because of a maniac wanting supreme power.

🚨🚨WARNING: DO NOT start this book before reading book one! It's not a stand alone. Three also a huge cliffhanger. The way Rebecca writes is typically the main characters go through immense hardships until the final book. I for one can't wait for book three! I'm looking forward to seeing her and her beloveds kick some massive tail!!

On the run for her life McKenzie relies only on her brother and no one else. As they run they only stop to help others that need them. The evil that she runs from has taken everything from her including her mates. No matter what McKenzie fights and will continue to do so util she has no more left in her.
I really like how strong McKenzie is and how she is willing to fight for what is right. She loves her mates and will do all that she can to find them. McKenzie never gives up and continues to grow in this book, I cannot wait to see what she will be like in the next part of her story. This book is a wonderful addition to McKenzie's story. It has a lot going on and I liked how well the author portrays McKenzie as a strong and determined woman. The love for her mates and fighting for what is right keeps McKenzie going. This story is full of emotions and has a good plot line that pulls you in and doesn't let go.

Mackenzie is traveling with her brother Agustin, finding loups and fixing them. She's missing her mates and her marks are going leaving her feeling so very empty inside. Hoping she'll be able to find them she lets her Omega power guide her and unfailingly finds what's she looking for. Except her mates.

It's her youngest mate Preston who finds her, using a loup as bait. He's cocky and believes he has the upper hand, his every word hurting her until Agustin shoots him with a tranquilizer.

Not only does Mac find her mates, she also find something that shouldn't exist with the Accords in place. A town of werewolves.

So much happens in this book, plenty of action, tears, romance and suspense. A man to be dealt with if the wolves are to survive.

I couldn't put this book down and the lead into the next book has my salivating for it. I really can't wait!
