Fast and fun with steam!
This was a very quick read, but it was sweet and steamy!
Also, a twist that made my heart swoon!
Heroes past isn’t mentioned, heroine is a virgin and belongs only to the hero, no cheating or abuse of any kind. No ow/om nonsense. HEA w/ epilogue 7 years out.

Photography & Mountain Men are Natalie's passions. Gunnar is a Mountain Man & a soldier. Natalie stumbles upon Gunnar's cabin, after a fall in poison ivy, Gunnar cares for her. Both are interested in each other but the timing is terrible as Gunnar is being deployed on a mission & won't return for 9 months. Will they see each other again? Gunnar has told Natalie not to wait for him, Natalie already knows he is the man for her.

Good romance
It’s a good short story, well written. At the beginning, I had the impression that it would be a little cliché between a "mountain man" and a young virgin photographer whom he saved, but quickly the story changes and turns out to be more interesting even if it remains simple.

She finds herself a real life mountain man, just like in her favorite romance books
Gunnar is the first book in the Wylder Mountain Heroes series by Tarin Lex. This is the story of Gunnar and Natalie. Natalie is hiking a trail in the Wilder Bulffs Mountains located in Wylder Bluff, Idaho. She is from Florida and has traveled her for her best friend Caitlin. Caitlin manages a travel blog but with now having her two year old son Jack she does not get to travel much. So Natalie is out snapping a thousand pictures along her hike in order to get that one perfect picture for Caitlin's blog. When she gets near a clearing she spots a beautiful small log cabin with a single rocking chair on the front porch. She knows she needs to get a picture of it and ends up getting pictures from every angle. However, she hears a gun chamber slide and then some heavy boots coming her way so she runs away. She is not able to get far until a very large man catches up with her and he wants to know why she is trespassing and if she is the one who has put pink ribbons around the trees as she hiked up. Natalie decides the best course of action is to just run away from him as fast as she can and get back down the mountain. What she did not count on was tumbling down some of the mountain and then landing rather forcefully.
Gunnar is in the military and two years ago was transferred to the Wylder Bluff, Idaho area. He has made this his home, acquiring some property on the mountain and building a log cabin with spectacular views. He has a good life but the only thing missing is someone to share it and have a family with. He finds a young woman around his cabin and decides to find out what she is doing there. When she runs and tumbles down he climbs down and finds her lying in poison ivy. Picking her up he takes her up to the cabin and having her in his arms feels right. They will have to take a shower to clean off the poison ivy and things get wet and slightly wild.
Gunnar looks after Natalie and she ends up staying with him for the next two days. They fall into a routine where she cooks, cleans and reads while he chops a lot of wood and they take hikes to explore the area. Gunnar is falling for Natalie but he will not sleep with her as he is leaving in two days for a nine month deployment overseas. Natalie is totally falling for her big mountain man, her favorite romance trope, and wants to be with him. Gunnar sends Natalie away when he has to leave telling her she does not have to wait, with her saying she will wait for him.
A week before Gunnar is to arrive back Natalie cannot wait any longer and arrives in Wylder Bluff to surprise Gunnar when he gets home. What she finds is a big surprise instead..........he is already home after having suffered an injury and being medically discharged. He does not think she will still want him because of the way he now looks but Natalie is not in love with the way Gunnar looks........she loves his heart, his soul and his spirit. They get the very hot and steamy HEA and so much more.

A Quick Hot Fix
Gunnar is what I call a quick fix while waiting for your doctor's appointment or nowadays while you're sitting in your car because you can't be with your loved ones while they are seeing a doctor. I wanted to read this book because it had a curvy woman as a love interest. I would love to see more books about curvy women and when I come across one I have to check it out. I read this book in about an hour but I got my quick fix of a hot love story.
Gunnar and Natalie's story takes place on a beautiful mountain where the hot mountain man lives alone. Gunnar's mountain home is the quiet place he lives between deployments. He has a great life but no one special in his life until he found a curvy woman walking up to his very door. Their attraction is instant and Natalie can't seem to not want to be glued to Gunnar who is her dream man.
I felt as I read the story there could've been 1 or 2 more scenes added to the flow of the story but that's just how my mind movie saw it as I read. The story gives you a fast and furious version of unconditional love but still entertaining for a quick read.

Gunnar: Mountain Man Rescue Romance is the first book in Tarin Lee’s Wylder Mountain Heroes. Ms. Lee set this story in the mountainous community of Wylder Bluffs. In this book we meet Natalie and Gunnar. Natalie is a romance novel addict from Florida. She came out west to photograph the beauty of her travels for her friend’s travel blog. Gunnar is a soldier who came home to Wylder Bluffs to relax as he prepares for his next nine-month deployment. Destiny brings these two together when Gunnar stumbles onto Natalie after she has fallen down a steep incline. An intense attraction is sparked when they first saw each other. Will Natalie and Gunnar find happiness? What happens to Gunnar while on his deployment?
Ms. Lee crafted a strong character-driven plot. Both of her primary characters evolve throughout the progression of her story. Their dynamics are fascinating. Ms. Lee does a swell job crafting her characters’ dialog. I enjoyed their internal dialog as it provided a better understanding of their personalities. When Gunner calls Natalie, “shorts,” it makes him adorable. Ms. Lee’s use of descriptive language painted realistic scenes. The way she conveys Natalie’s acceptance of Gunnar’s facial scars after his accident in Afghanistan demonstrates the depth of her love for him. I thought it was clever of Ms. Lee to include an epilogue to round out the “ever after life” and set up the next book. Well done, Ms. Lee.

Spoilers ahead: Natalie is on a journey for a travel blog and taking photos when she unexpectedly comes across a cabin in the woods. Gunnar is a soldier with no ties to anything, not Marines related until her. With promises to come back for each other he deploys. Unexpectedly, he returns early and tries to push her away but she is to strong to let that happen. This story Is about a strong-willed woman and a strong man who thinks he knows what is best for her. He is hurt on the field of battle and thinks that he doesn’t want to hurt her heart by staying with her long term and sacking her with his issues. This is a sweet story but can trigger someone that is dealing with or has dealt with this in the past. It is so well written and. Truly touching story. I loved every page and cannot wait for the next one.

While hiking up Wylder Bluffs Mountain, Natalie is taking pictures of beautiful scenery for her friend Caitlin, who writes for a travel blog, when she comes across a cute cabin on top of the mountain. While she is taking picture of the cabin a gorgeous man with a rifle starts yelling, causing Natalie to fall and roll down the mountain into a patch of poison ivy.
From the very first sight, Gunnar was struck by how beautiful Natalie is and kept saying to himself, can't get involved leaving for the middle east in four days, for nine months. Gunnar is attracted to her and so is Natalie for him, just as hard and fast too.
But several months in the middle east an accident occurred, now Gunnar is wondering if Natalie will stay when she promises to return.

This is the first book in a new series but it is set in Wylder Mountain where previous series have been set This is about men who have jobs that take them away from the mountain but it is the place they always come back to in a chance to decompress Like all Tarin's books it is a fast steamy read that only takes about 30 minutes to read
Natalie has always dreamed of having her own mountain man like the ones she reads about in her romance books but she is also a realist and knows that it isn't likely to happen That is until she stumbles across Gunnar in his cabin and the attraction is instant and mutual The only problem is that this army man is about to deploy and he doesn't want to ask her to wait for him and he also knows he would worry about her while he is away but is what they have strong enough to handle the separation You will have to read to see

Natalie comes around a little cottage in the middle of the mountains and feels like she's stepped into her favourite mountain man romance along with a strong sexy alpha hero, Gunnar falls head over heels for Natalie but he's being shipped out in a couple of days and needs to keep his head about him. They spend a wonderful couple of days together and know they are meant to be, so when Natalie goes back to welcome him home and he's been back a while, that's a shock. But their feelings are strong and when you know, you know....
Wonderful story, quick to read, great characters, plenty of sizzling chemistry and some heartwarming moments.

This is the best little story! The characters, Natalie and Gunnar, have so much going for them — sizzling chemistry, charisma, magnetism; you feel it the minute they meet. Everything just clicked between them. Gunnar was being deployed in a few days and he wanted Natalie to be there when he returned. Natalie was in love with Gunnar and she would wait and she would return to the mountain cabin when Gunnar returns. Gunnar returned early with complications. This is a heartwarming, tender but passionate love story. The story really works and it will tug at your heart and you hope they get all the things they want. Fantastic read! More please?

Her Mountain Man
You gotta love a book that starts with a leading lady, who reads romance and dreams of having her own mountain man. I found myself adoring Natalie immediately...even if she was hiking in the mountains not at all prepared, silly woman lol
This was very much an instant connection romance, that burned hot right from the start.
I loved that Gunnar refused to rush things with Natalie and also that he was a military man, they are always great book boyfriend material.
There is more I could say but don't want to ruin the journey to HEA, but let's just say Natalie proves that even though it was fast it wasn't all about the physical and appearances...she feel for what's inside the mountain man!

First things first; I love the cover of this book!
Gunnar is book one in the ‘’Wylder Mountain heroes’’ series. This story is short, fast paced and an enjoyable read. I read this book in one sitting and was satisfied throughout. I found the writing style easy to follow, the characters likeable and the storyline enjoyable. Whilst Natalie is taking photographs on a mountain she meets Gunner. Will sparks fly when they spend time together?
The chemistry between Gunnar and Natalie is clear to see and I liked them together.
I really liked the ending and the epilogue for this story.

Awesome short story! This is about Gunnar and Natalie. She is walking around the forest taking pictures for her best friend when she comes across a nice looking cabin. She gets near it to take pictures and realizes that someone big with a gun is coming towards her, so she runs and end up falling straight into poison ivy. The story is sweet especially because he doesn’t take what she is offering knowing that he is leaving in 3 day. The story pauses for 9 months as she decides to wait for him only to have him hide from her. This is definitely one to pick up.

This is book one in the Wylder Mountain Heroes series. The series starts with Natalie and Gunnar's short story. Gunnat is an active military man home but deploying on a few days. Natalie is exploring the woods and taking pictures. She is not exactly a woodie girl but loves her mountain man romance novels. Both of these characters are in for an insta love treat. I love these short stories, they are perfect for a quick whole story read and always leave you feeling completely satisfied. I look forward to more of these Mountain Man Heroes. Enjoy!

So very good. Her hike up the mountains, finding a cabin she thinks is empty, getting scared and falling down a hill. She's only read about Mountain Men. Now she's going to meet her very own man. He starts out as a grouch, but then the gentle side comes out as he takes care of her scrapes, bruises and poison ivy. They get three days together before he ships out for 9 months. Shorts waits for him like she said she would but Gunner is scared to see her. You'll find out why when you read this book. It's a beautiful story, wonderful characters and everything turns out like it should. I received a copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Natalie is hiking through Wylder Bluffs mountain taking pictures for her friend's travel blog. She comes across a house. She meets the owner, Gunnar. Four days is all they have together because Gunnar is going overseas with his service crew. Natalie thought that she would surprise Gunnar but gets her own surprise when she finds out that he has been back for 2 months. This is a short sweet romance. Gunnar automatically jumped to conclusions about Natalie.

This series is going to be amazing, Gunner is the first book and it has taken my emotions and run them through the ringer.
Gunner is about to head out for deployment when Natalie stumbles across his cabin. In the few short days their world will change for ever. Gunner is big, loving man with a huge heart. When he returns it's Natalie's turn to show him how much he means to her.
Get a tissue this one will pull at you heart strings.

Natalie is hiking, and comes across the cutest little cabin, and begins to take pictures of it. Gunnar, the owner, is not amused. Until he meets her, and is instantly attracted to her. He can't get involved - he's deploying in a few days, and will be gone for nine months. She promises to wait for him, and come back to the cabin. This is a very heartwarming story. He's injured, and not sure that she'll want to be with him. She is very accepting of his situation. It's a nice start to this new series.

Gunnar is about to get deployed again when he finds a sweet girl near his cabin.
Natalie is a photographer and she is doing some shots in the mountains for her friend.
It was difficult for me to get in the story although I liked a lot the first sentences. There are no real feelings between them. It’s like throwing sentences and put them together.
I found the book lacking details; what happened to Gunnar? I have more questions, but I don’t want to give away any spoilers. Two stars and a half.

I’ve read many of Tarin Lex’s stories and this is now my absolute favorite. I absolutely loved Gunnar and Natalie is the perfect choice for him. I won’t leave any spoilers, but if you’ve never read anything by this author, do yourself a favor and read this! You may need a tissue, while reading this beautiful story, just sayin’.

In this quick read, Ms. Lex has written a heart rending full blown romance. Natalie and Gunnar are such a sweet couple. Meeting by accident and falling head over heels - almost literally. This book gave me all the feels - happy and sad, hot and flushed. I really enjoyed it and cannot wait for the next book!

chemistry from the first meeting. fun characters and just enough depth for a short story. she falls in love with him, not because of his appearance but because of who he is. he had never seen her approach .. but after all, he was more than happy to have given her a chance. i enjoyed this story. from me 4 stars

Natalie is a photographer who falls down a mountain and ends up in the arms of a mountain man! Insta-love alert! Gunnar is a military man about to deploy. He doesn’t need any distractions. But there’s something about Natalie that has him reconsidering his position. They are both likable, honorable people. Told with touching emotional moments “Gunnar” is a solid mountain man/curvy woman short & sexy romance.
