The familiar world collapsed overnight. As the Transformation progressed, disasters occurred throughout the Earth. Materials changed their properties, new species of flora and fauna appeared. The Game converted our world into a huge dungeon, completely replacing the previous civilization.
However, the alien plans for Earth began to go awry from the very beginning. The conversion was less successful than expected. An ordinary young man stole the bonus for the first gaming action, depriving the invaders of their perk.
How can he manage the situation? Which of the aliens will become his ally? Which ones are his enemy? Dare they rebel against the all-powerful invaders, regain their land and even create a new world?

Advice to listeners/readers.
The author advises everyone to read the small print carefully, and to pay attention to details, especially with regard to magical artifacts, so as to avoid accidental travel to restricted areas and dangerous worlds. Nobody reminded Yar Dark and his companions of this, so they will end up facing the consequences of their overconfidence. Can they survive in this inhospitable place called the Dark World? Only true heroes have a chance. The Dark World laughs at them, exposing its fangs and claws, and mocks the heroes. . .

Although rough translation, still a fantastic read

There are moments of confusion because of the poor translation into English. Though the book could use editing for sentence syntax, better grammar and adjuctives, the story itself is a delightful read.

Go into the book, like the first one, knowing you have to read past the grammatical errors. The story is still fantastic and mesmerizing, especially with the time manipulations.

Sigh...Good stuff

Firstly, I would like to start out by saying, yes this is a translated work and yes, it is awkwardly interpreted in some places. Most independent foreign authors are, especially with wuxia, isekai and non-English litrpg. However, the overall gist of the story is easily understood and quite enjoyable. I personally appreciated this tale, although I must admit that many females are treated as delicate flowers and that can be a little annoying. Despite this, Yar's journey to the Dark World and his subsequent myriad adventures were action-filled, varied and unending. Would like to see intricate world-development and character detail a bit more in-depth, but quite enjoy the community-building. Lastly, I would like to say, yay Gelic! Look forward to next book.

Epic slice of life.

Mc is decent and relatable. mostly I love the crunchy bits and interesting world building. Minor spoiler: The friendly slime that is master chef/assassin is my favorite character. Overall the best I have read in its niche.

Liked it

The translation was much better than the first book. Could have used a prologue or something at the beginning to rehash what happened in the previous book. Still plenty of odd phrasing, " a gang of cuties" that one sticks in my mind and had me cracking up, and the word "guy" was used excessively. There was some confusion as things happen or seem to jump around with little or no explanation, besides these minor gripes the story was good and I enjoyed it, and am looking forward to whatever happens next.

The opening 2 chapters are like you're on an acid trip and left wondering what is happening and why since there is almost zero reference to what happened before the book, so reread at least the last 2 chapters of book 1 before starting! Still a fun read once you figure out what is going on and why, but those first 2 chapters can be rough if you read the first book a while ago...

Amazing continuation

A great seeries. One of my top books for both 2018 and again 2019. I would like to hear about the restoration of the dark World civilizations eventually. I see this as hopefully a 8 or 10 book seeries. I look forward to the unexpected of the next book with great anticipation. I really enjoyed all the characters they are really exceptional. Many twists and turns that made this book Amazing. Keep the seeries strong and very interesting as long as possible.

A confusing mess

I don't know if it's the translation or if the original version is as confusing, but this book is plagued with confusing chapters where the action is convoluted and nothing is explained other than by the name of the skills in the MC's overpowered magic system in which he can do anything better than masters who have been at it for hundred of years. There is a distinct lack of justification for why the magic school he invents while trying to understand how to use magic is just better at everything than all other magic schools... The first book was a mess with a lot of potential, this one is just a mess.

Interesting Story

This is a fun and interesting series. Basically it is the story of what happens when Earth is taken over by aliens and transformed. Some people become people converted to video game style players and others become monsters. No idea what the criteria is for either class but the distinction is more or less irrelevant. Yar is a bit OP honestly but I like my heroes to win so I am okay with it. It is gratifying to have the aliens constantly caught off guard by one of us. The only other issues I have are that the flow of the storyline is a little erratic and jumpy and that the translation is not always perfect. Still, I am enjoying Yar’s adventures.

Absolutely amazing world creation

4.5 stars
The world author created for this series is too amazing. And I loved the the character arc of Yar. Seriously, first I felt he may become overpowered, but then author introduced shadows and to defeat them, Yar has to train for almost 7-15 years. Loved all the new characters especially the cubs. The only problem is sometimes translation is confusing, like what character had said which sentence. And the translator used some hard words. Hopefully the third book will be out soon.

It's a good premise, but.....

The struggle I have with the book is that either its poorly translated, there is allot lost in translation, or the original writing is just completely missing content. The plot is not the most original, the charecters are ok at best, and at least the story is somewhat entertaining and the plot moves along quite nicely, but the biggest roadblock is to have to stop halfway though a scene to peice together what the author is trying to describe. It's just not worth the read at that point. It pulls you out of the book way to often.

Book 2 became unreadable

The first book of this series started fantastically. I would have given it 5 stars if I had stopped at the half way point. I don't know if the author changed translators at the mid point but grammatical errors started to increase and sentence structure became confusing. I would still give it 4 stars. This book though...? I had to struggle to get to the half way point of this novel before giving up on it.

Book two

Mistakes: there are some scattered throughout the book. My problem is the translation either isn't that good or the book itself is choppy and rough.
Plot: Action on another planet.
Characters: The MC is again getting a bunch of stuff for doing nothing. Most of his internal thoughts and conversations don't make a lot of sense.

A very solid book.

The author has continued to grow the complexity of the characters and the story. The MC is starting to be very entertaining and engaging but the author has failed to grow the supporting characters to any meaningful degree hopefully this will be addressed in the next book. Overall I enjoyed it and look forward to reading the next book in this series.

Excellent once again!

Such a wonderful imagination! Loved this book, even more than the first one. This is one of those writers that’s a true gem to discover, and which comes around only once in a while. Brilliant world building, great story (I said this in my review of the first book too, but it’s even more true here). A delight to read, for sure.

Very poor translation - Avoid

The first book in this series was entertaining and translated well enough. Book 2 however suffers from a terrible translation that will leave you wondering what's going on most of the time.

The levelling system is a bit hard to follow and it is very hard to see where the level jumps come from. Then we get more and more layers of systems on top. It doesn't feel consistent but I am certainly invested in the story.

Dark world is exciting

The second book in this series delivers the fun. A great setup for book three and a fun book that makes the ND grow and learn

Strong Followup

Another good book. More editing needs to be done. The English translation can be hard to follow. I look forward to the third book.

Good continuation

I enjoy the series but several times it seems something is lost in translation. I had to reread several parts as the story would jump around

Translation doesn't always work. Had a hard time understanding some sections had to read them over and over to work out what was being said.
