Possibly the greatest work of ecological literature - ahead of its time, truly groundbreaking and world changing. Not an easy read, heavy on scientific data and terminology as well as painting an extraordinarily bleak picture of 20th century human hubris; Silent Spring stands as testament to hope and proactivity in the face of bureaucratic indifference. I don't care about spots on my apples, just leave me the birds and the bees, please.

This book is revealing important and mind-blowing facts and data of the spraying of chemical insecticides in 20th century. It feels like its message is still a contemporary one, 60 years later. A follow-up is needed and would be greatly appreciated.

Not recommended to read for the light hearted, it's a very hard reality check that keeps happening nowadays
