Shadow Man

Rate this book
Toni returns to the town of her abusive upbringing for the funeral of her long-missing high school friend. She only has one thought on her mind - pay her respects and leave.  But a strange text has brought all of her high school friends to this one point and they soon realise that all is definitely not what it seems.

There is more in the darkness here than just shadows.

Coming to terms with her mother’s abuse and the terrors of her upbringing, the ghosts of Toni’s past become more than metaphorical – they become dangerous. Fighting them, a terrifying dark daemon and a serial killer that is closer to home than any of them suspected, Toni learns some steep lessons about friendship, love and just how much she is capable of. But will it be enough to save her friends?

Powerful, character driven story full of pace and suspense with just enough spine tingling terror thrown in to keep you awake at night. The writing style is fluid and easy. At times you almost feel like you are one of the group, sitting in the den, drinking tea and trying to figure out what the heck is going on. The ending wasn't so much of a surprise but I really enjoyed the way the author takes us there.

Disappointed there are no other fiction books from this author. I would like to read more. It's like Stephen King without all the hype.

This is not my usual read but I’ve found myself leaning more towards thrillers recently.

The fact that I read this book in 5 days says a lot about how I felt about the book.

It had a great mix of characters that I wanted to learn more about as well as a great paced plot.

So descriptive is the book that I found myself a little spooked in parts but it kept me on the edge of my seat the whole way through!

The ending took me by surprise. It was a strong ending that tied up loose ends while leaving it open for more maybe....

Wow!

This was a great read! So many twists and turns. Not a run of the mill horror story. I’m crossing my fingers that there will be a sequel!

Dark, twisted, haunting and gripping. Honestly loved it from start to finish and I can’t wait to read more.

I haven’t read a thriller in ages so was really excited when a friend recommended this and it really did not disappoint at all.

Lots of twists and turns and characters that I wanted to know more about. It’s so descriptive I could clearly visualise it all. I read this in under a week. Just couldn’t put it down.

Loved the plot twists and that although everything was nicely tied up, it’s been left open for a follow up story as well. I really hope there is another as I’d love to know what happens next.

This would make an amazing movie as well. I would 100% watch it!!
