Ari Lionhart is the youngest warrior in Èire Danu, yet despite his lack of years, he is trusted by the queen’s consort Brennus to act as the unit leader for every unit in the fae city. He works hard at balancing his life between being a unit warrior and being a Lionhart, and secretly fears he is failing at both. With a genius politician for a father and two older brothers that are shining examples of what it means to be a warrior and an Elder, how can he possibly try to do both with any degree of success.
When their city unexpectedly faces tragedy after tragedy, and a vote of No Confidence is brought before the queen on how these things are being handled, and Ari finds himself facing his greatest fear, failure.
Brie Wilson has been a Deputy Sheriff in Monroe for years. She loves the small town of her birth and the laid back atmosphere that makes it a wonderful and safe place to live. But even small towns have their own quirks and problems. Outside a few exceptions at the station, she pushes daily for her efforts to be recognized by the men on the force. Still smarting over her last break up where her ex likened her to a man, she decides the safest route is to stick to herself and never get her heart broken again.
When these two selfless warriors find one another can they learn to lean on one another before the body count escalates? What does it say about them when it’s easier to face murder than the deepening feelings they have for one another.

Ok so I've been with this series for a while and I have to say it's getting annoying how old, regal characters are being portrayed as dumb or stupid, and all fall instantly in love with a young Meryn. It was fun the first few times but it's getting old now. like if the queen were so gullible how could she have led her people for thousands of years. It's getting ridiculous. Also what happened to Ari's dream? It was never mentioned later, there was no life/death situation that was in previous books.

Also there are too many characters this is the 12th book so all in all we got to know 24 main characters and I feel like 100 side characters. Always having to look up names and such is taking away from the fun of reading. There is also no way to develop so many characters so many of them fade into the background and get only mentioned once a book.
The ending didn't feel like a real ending, I can't even say it's a cliffhanger it's just a bad ending to the book, like there was no more time to finish it.
The editing again is sadly not satisfactory, too many typos or missing words.
I give two stars because the main storyline is progressing, even though it's at a snails pace.

Oh how I missed Meryn and her merry band of people! But I have to say that I felt like I needed a family tree chart/guide to keep track of ALL the people in this book. Soooo many names!!! Half the time I was like “Who’s that one again? Oh, he’s the....” or “What’s her connection to Meryn again?”

As for the MC’s — Brie and Ari? I thought they were a fun and cute couple. I liked them but I have to say that my enjoyment for this particular story is a carry over from my love of Meryn and the earlier books. On its own, I thought that this story was a little light in terms of plot and emotional development. It’s “fluffier” than the previous books in the series. Still fun though.

I've been dying to read this book and I'm so glad that it is finally out.
But now I need to know what happens next. LOL

Ari Lionheart is the youngest brother in the Lionheart clan of Declan and Rex.
That doesn't mean he isn't a capable warrior.
Far from it.
While his unit may be one of the youngest in the paranormal society, they prove themselves capable when chaos is unleashed within Eire Danu.
Ari especially after he shifts into third form and is represented as Belladonna by Meryn and given the codename Nightshade.
Things start to fall into place about his character.

We get to meet Ari's mate in this book, obviously.
Her name is Brie Wilson and she is just as great as all the other female mates we've been meeting in the past books.
She is strong, independent, and isn't afraid to speak her mind.
Looking up to Meryn is just an extra bonus, and speaks of her own character. LOL
Being a deputy sheriff, she fits in with the unit warriors and loves that her mate wasn't looking for a docile female to play betty homemaker.

So much happens in this book.
My Solace left off with Meryn, Oran, Darian, and the others trying to convince the Queen of the Fae that ferals had somehow made their way into Eire Danu.
This is where My Warrior picks up.
They are trying to get her to understand the severity of the situation and take control instead of burying her head in the sand and denying the facts.
Once things start to unravel, more and more is revealed about the ferals and fae living outside of the parallel world.
Tragedy strikes as it seems to always be doing, but things take a turn for the better, only for it to end once more in chaos.

My Warrior seems to end on more of a cliffy than the other books have in the past.
We didn't just get to hear about one of the warriors dreaming of his mate.
He's running and thinking of how this reminds him of a certain dream.

This story is told mostly from Ari and Brie's points of view.
However, we do get one (chapter eighteen) from Meryn's point of view that enlightens us on a few things.
And of course, the epilogue is from the next warrior to find his mate, Gage.

I can't wait to see what Alanea has in store for us in the next book.
You get the sense that things are finally starting to unravel and the big secret, why all this is happening, will finally be discovered. Though I know we still have a bit of a way to go.
I'm super excited (and hope book 13 is in the near future) to see who Gage will be mated to and what she will bring to the party.

This is a series that I highly recommend.
It is a go-to must-read for me.
Whenever I'm in a slump, it's what I reach out for.
You can never go wrong with it.
It has happiness, sadness, drama, anger, and mystery all within these pages.
If you haven't picked them up yet, do it now.
You won't regret it.

I enjoyed this one, but it didn't blow me away like many in this series do. I liked that Brie acclimated quickly, loved that Ari embraced Brie as a strong woman, one who could lead and let her, even as he was scared she could get hurt or more. I laughed as Aiden kept cockblocking Ari and Brie at the start of things, liked how Brie was able to save people.

I want to start by saying i love all the book of this series and put 5 stars in all the other books but this one, as good as it is, is my least favorite because it feels incomplete. It´s not the first time we have a sort of cliffhanger leading to the next book but this time i feel like the book was not finished

I may change my opinion of the book once i read the following one (in at least a year i guess so i will be patient..). The book is still great just feel i need more (and not my usual i need more because this serie is great but more because i feel like i missed some chapter)

An unexpected hero

The plot thickens as another warrior finds his mate. I love how the characters continue to interact with each other, and the sharp inquisitive minds that are slowly unraveling the source of the danger. The author maintained the intensity we have seen throughout the series sprinkled with those moments of comic relief I have come to expect when dealing with Meryn. This book was worth every minute that I had to wait for the author to write it. Hopefully the next book won’t be too far off because with an ending like this one I just know it’s going to be amazing!

A wonderful addition to the series!

I'd give it 5 stars if the author would do something, anything, about the typos - at least 16 of them that I marked and several more I didn't bother with. She REALLY needs an editor. That said, the typos are my only complaint.

Yes, there are A LOT of new characters introduced in this book - mostly because she did NOT introduce a bunch of new ones in the last one, My Solace. To address the griping of those who complained about that - you cannot move a series on by only using old characters. This book takes place in the pillar city of Eire Danu, the land of the fae. We will have new characters as a matter of course, and those characters- who will be important later on, need a little page time.

I'm also not sure why some readers are suddenly complaining about how quickly Brie accepts Ari. This astounds me considering that Rheia - My Healer, was the longest holdout. All the other human mates were a VERY quick insta-love. It may have seemed fast, but that was due to Brie coming into the story a bit late - Chapter 3. It still took her 6 more chapters to accept Ari.

I actually found this book to be one of my favorites. The author is moving a bit more outside of the box - which I appreciated as reading the same old thing over and over bores me. This book had more action and a kickass heroine who took care of business. I enjoyed how active she was throughout the book.

Her relationship with Ari was fun and, while many didn't see much "romance" between them, I felt it in how much support Ari gave Brie. Romance and love don't, and shouldn't, always equate with sex. It's accepting someone for who they are that enables a strong relationship. There are still plenty of sex scenes, but I was happy to see more character growth than sexy times.

Meryn is still winning new people over, kicking butt, and taking names. She's calling people out on their BS, and managing multiple "work arounds" to aid the unit warriors. I still adore her character, and am enjoying seeing her continue to build relationships with others - one of which might surprise you!

The book ties up nicely, regardless what other reviewers said. It ends with the typical "happy for now" between Brie and Ari. The only difference this one had was that there was something beginning to happen in Eire Danu. EVERY other book ends the same - a wrap up of that books relationship and intro into one of the next books main characters. We all KNOW something WILL happen. So, again, I'm perplexed at the complaints about this one. We are not left not knowing if someone lives or dies. We're left with a "I wonder what the hell is happening now" vibe, as people rush back to the palace. No one's lives are in immediate jeopardy, and no one's fate is left hanging anymore than in the rest of the series.

I loved the introduction to Eliana's Daughters, and I'm sure we'll see more of them as the series continues.

I think a lot of the initial poor feedback was due more to My Warrior releasing late on iTunes, Nook, Kobo, etc... it took an additional 3.5 days to hit those platforms and the readers were angry with the author, though it's not her fault. I saying this because I'm seeing a lot more negative reviews this time than at any other since book #6, My Guardian - when we 1st traveled to Noctem Falls - when everyone was griping about how LITTLE page time Eva and Adriel got as a couple. In this one Brie apparently gets "too much". You can't make everyone happy, is the moral of this.

Alanea, keep doing what you're doing. I think you're an awesome writer (who still needs an editor), but your story-spinning and world building are phenomenal! I can't wait to see where you take us next!

Brilliant series

I absolutely love the bewitched and bewildered series by Alanea Alder. The characters are amazing the story line is spot on, consistent , enthralling, and just keeps you so intrigued you can't help but read page after page yet you don't want the book to end at the same time. From Meryn who is her true effervescent lovely self Aiden her poor tortured mate who loves her incessently the Queen of Fae and her love Brennus to Ari finding his mate in Brie the characters as always bring more to the table and you just can't help but fall in love over and over again with each book in the series. I can't speak highly enough of this series and recommend it to everyone who loves a great paranormal book five stars from me . I can't wait for the next book in this amazing series.

Compelling read

Once again Ms Alder gives us another fantastical book. Following on from the previous books it picks up almost immediately. This is Ari and Brie’s Story. What a kickass girl she is! I loved how Ari saw her strengths and was impressed and supported her and didn’t try and change her. The love that flows thro these books is addicting. It makes you want to Immerse yourself in this realm. What wasn’t fun was the gruesome discoveries they made. But that aside the story gets more and more intriguing as it progresses thro each book. I cannot wait to see what happens next. I must say that cliff hanger wasn’t nice! You need to write fast Ms Alder, please!

Empire? I thought you were your own religion now. Izzy is a better religion. I will be an Empress instead.” Whoo! This whole group of new kickass characters are amazing. My Warrior, just like its predecessors, is fast-paced and hilarious. The only things I ever find “wrong” with these books are minor editing mistakes, which are expected and easy to ignore. I once again highly recommend it to all geeks.

Book 12 and I'm still totally hooked

I can't wait to see what happens next! Brie's first meeting with Ari is funny in that what she does to him (no spoilers). I enjoyed Brie and Ari very much. Brie is a tough cookie like Eva. The mysteries of what is happening in the fae city are more complex, possibly. Characters mentioned previously are a little more fleshed out in this book. Meryn is keeping a secret from everyone too. The great adventure continues!

Another hit!! I seriously love this series, and it's getting better and better. Ari (sweet and hot) and Brie (total badass) were great characters. My favourite character is still Kendrick so I was happy reading this book with so many scenes with him, and his interactions with Thane were hilarious.

Love it

I love the next book I'm the fae city. Ari's story is great. While all of the women in the series are amazing and strong Bri shows a unique physical strength along with her other talents. My warrior puts more pieces into place but of course there are always more questions.

Ninjagaiden!

Another hilarious, thrilling book in the adventures of Meryn. I fell in love with Brie so quickly. It was wonderful watching Ari come to realize how much his unit brothers love and respect him. It takes a talented author to keep you swinging from shock and horror to hilarity without feeling forced.

This is the twelfth book of the Bewitched and Bewildered series by Alanea Alder that brings us the story of Brie and Ari.

This book was incredible. The plot and tha characters were compelling and captivating. This story was addictive and it was great to see the others characters. And that ending was surprising and shocking.

Great laugh out loud book with lots of heart. I know I say that pretty much about every book in this series, but it's true.
The reason for 4 stars, the proofreading is horrible. If this book goes to print I won't be buying it unless all that mess was fixed.
Loved the story though.

My warrior

Another amazing instalment of this series. I can never get enough Meryn and all the other fabulous characters. The story is moving quicker now and for that I’m very grateful. Hopefully it won’t be too long until the next book. Recommend.

A darker turn for Eire Danu

I’m really loving how this series is coming along, and honestly I am really impressed that the series is keeping my interest this many books in, the underlying plot really makes all the difference. I like being in Eire Danu as well, it’s a new setting, and has a totally different dynamic than the other cities and the politics are so much different as well.

I really loved Brie, she really is a kick butt warrior woman. That’s not to say that the other women in the series haven’t been seriously awesome, and Eva is beyond capable of taking care of herself, but Brie is a true law enforcement professional, so when she comes into the fold you get to see a woman in a warrior role which is not something we have seen until now. And we also get to see what that means in terms of how the men in the units will treat her along with that. I also love that she had background knowledge of Meryn and they kind of were able to operate well with each other because they both knew each others strengths.

As for Ari, another Lionhart, what is not to love. He’s very adorable, and I really liked some of the scenes with him and Brie, there is definitely some lightheartedness in this book that is direly needed because of the kind of person Ari is.

This book was heavier and darker than in the other books. In the previous books you have a lot of danger but you have the ability to really fight back. In this book there is a lot of heartache and coming in after the fact which brings along its own set of challenges. More and more is being unravelled about what is really going on, leaving more questions than true answers, and I am honestly really excited to see where we go from here.

I liked this one better,

Very strong female heroine, Brie is full of attitude and purpose, and with a job that actually not only adds in help, but it changes a bit some things. She is a Deputy but was top of her class in quantico.

I am glad that Ari was not resentful towards Brie, but he actually supported her every way, I supose his dream warned him not to be a caveman.

The plot, as always surrounds Meryn, and the books have this unfinished taste to me, ever since book 6, it just feels like a large chapter of a bigger book.

There were to many new characters, i'll confess to be thoroughly confused with all the names, I need a chart and a map. it would be cool to have the rooster of all de units, founding families and overall family trees showing the different links ( with all the adoptions ...) in the different city's.

I will of course keep reading, 'cause I really want to know how it will end, and whats with that Demon?

Welcome to the lion shifters

Brie Wilson Deputy Sheriff of Monroe a strong woman who can take care of herself (she nails it when she comes up against Lionesses) is more than a match for Ari Lionhart (Lion shifter) unit leader for the Fae city of Eire Danu. Brie will be thrown in at the deep end when she investigates the mass murder of Fae. This is a long running series following Meryn and Aiden through the 4 pillar cities and the mystery of the Ferals and Reapers and what will be revealed in each city to help understand the bigger picture. Brie and Ari fit into the gang with ease and you have a fun time seeing all the new connections in this Fae pillar city. It may have left the pace of the bigger picture a bit slower in this book.

I love the bewitched and bewildered series. I especially loved the first few books but now the plots just seem to be to alike. The same thing seems to happen just about every book and it is hard to differentiate different characters storylines and identities. So many new characters are being added constantly and the story seems to be very rushed. I loved the first few books and the characters. However after book 5 they all just seem to run together. I would love another interesting book like Meryns.

12 books in and the author is really dragging these out. I doubt I’ll be picking up this series again, despite the obvious talent of the author, as dragging out a story like this is just irritating. I’m not going to wait 4+ years to finish the mystery, I don’t have patience for that.

I’m just glad I got these from the library and didn’t waste any money on them. Not worth time or money for something so drawn out and unfinished.
