**Alanea's Note** This is a re-release of a previously published title. It has been re-edited and a bit more content has been added, but nothing that would change the story dramatically. As always thank you for your support! Enjoy!
Ashby Fairfax has always looked for love in the wrong places, his last attempt left him running from an abusive boyfriend. Since coming to Arkadia life has been great, he finally has the family he has always craved. Only one thing is missing, his mate. But how can a small town, fox shifter be mated to a vampire prince?
Prince Gabriel has led his people through the ages and into the 21st century. He is on the verge of losing his soul when he catches the scent of what may be his mate. Once Ashby is confirmed as his, it seems their troubles begin.
Someone is after Ashby. Gabriel’s entire coven rallies around their new prince and for the first time in his existence Gabriel experiences bone numbing fear. Can he find the strength to send Ashby to Arkadia to ensure his safety? And will he be able to eliminate the threat before he loses his reason for living.
This book isn't a literary wonder, like some of the exquisite books I've read in this sub-genre. It is littered with mistakes and missing words. And there were many more issues with the writing or the pace at which the conversations were happening.
But it was fun enough while it lasted, so I only took off 2 stars from my rating. Sadly, the writing style has put me off from venturing to read the other M/M books in the series.
Continuing on with my reread of this series. Yes, they are, at times, super cheesy but they hit the spot.
This one would probably be 3 stars now for me. I didn't realize how "childlike" Ashby was before but this time it seemed more so to me. But, I'm not changing my rating. As I stated with the others, there's something about this series that keeps me coming back so it deserves the stars I gave it initially.
Prince Gabriel is one fine, alpha vampire. He deserves the stars for himself. This one continues on with the underlying conflict and the "mystery" person set out to destroy Arkadia.
WOW, just WOW! Alanea Alder has proved that she's here to stay! Fated for Forever, the third book in her Kindred of Arkadia series solidifies that Ms. Alder is a brilliantly talent author with an exquisite imagination! After reading her first two books and instantly becoming a die hard fan, I honestly wondered how she could improve. Well, let me tell you...she completely knocked my socks off! The growth of the main characters was amazing to watch. I was already a HUGE Ashby and Gabriel fan from the previous books, but the way they evolved under her magic touch in Fated for Forever was completely amazing! By including all of my "friends" from Arkadia, (that I have missed soooo much) made the book even better! Ms. Alder, you have a fan for life! I can't WAIT until the next book! And you who are reading this review...if you haven't bought this book...or her previous ones...WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR? BUY THESE BOOKS NOW!!!
I just found this series this weekend and am hooked. I was highly impressed with the author's world building along with her ability to write interesting characters who reach out and grab your attention and concern. I was looking forward to Ashby's book from book 1 and was not disappointed. One of the best things about this series for me is the fact that the author has not limited herself to only MM or MF pairings, but writes all relationships. It is frustrating as a reader to see an great female character in a series and never get her story because the author only writes MM. Thankfully, Alanea Alder writes all of her character's stories!
Great story depicting two very different people. One a vampire who has been around for centuries ruling many and the other a fox shifter who has been abused in the past meet and fall for one another. They have to overcome many things a stalker, a drug ring, and Ashby being torn wanting to be with Gabriel and his family in Arcadia. Love the clever banter that transpires through the characters. I was smiling through the whole book. The love scenes were nice as well. Tasteful but still steamy. Not a fan of m/m books but I did love this one and will definitely read more from this author!
Oh my goodness! I just finished Fated for forever by Alanea Alder. I can't say enough about it, I love it! I became a forever fan of her books after reading her first. I fell in love with Ashby and Gabriel from their first meeting. I love the way she portrays their growth. And I am also glad characters I have grown to love come back in her latest. Truly an entertaining read!!!
This one had me laughing so much, it was over the top, but fun. Gabriel wasn't how I expected him, he was so happy to have Ashby in his life, ready to change everything for him. The other vampires were just as smitten of Ashby and stunned to see a different side of Gabriel they had never seen. The vampires in general were not sure what to think of Ashby's Arkadian family, but I have a feeling they all will fit in together. It was also really great to see Ashby come into his own with his mating with Gabriel. When all the crazy stuff was going on and Gabriel out of commission he was able to take control and keep every one calm. I look forward to seeing how the town changes now that the vampires have come to live there.
the book wasn’t doing anything for me until ashby returned to arkadia and we reunited with all og characters. the humor just was unmatched. the same problem was in bb series when they went to vampire city for five books.
I was absolutely looking forward to Ashby's story. I was rooting for him and Gabriel to be together ever since they hinted at their romance in the previous book. Oh my god, I'm going to faint. They were so cute. I loved this book. And I'm loving this series so far.
Alanea Alder had gay characters in her Bewitched & Bewildered series hut never as main characters and I have to say I love it!!
- This book was both cute and lovely and adorable and awesome and most of all sexy! XD
- Since book one I liked the main characters (since in here I can't call them hero and heroine and I don't want to say hero 1 or 2 so I will call them fox and vampire) especially the fox he was just that adorable
- I liked how the vampire was utterly devoted to the fox it was rally adorable to read, he literally treated the fox like a princess or Cinderella honestly he treated him like something precious and it was cute to see
- I loved when the fox showed others his strength, and I loved his bond with Rebecca. The power and bond of the inner circle is something I always look forward to read about
Oh sweet Ashby. Loved his story. He really comes out of his shell and gains his confidence that was lost during an abusive relationship. Ashby is a small fox shifter mated to the prince of vampires. I loved that while obviously Gabriel could protect him and stand up for him, he did that himself quite a bit and the same for Gabriel. This had some nice steaminess and some pretty funny moments as well.
I absolutely love this series. My heart is so full for Ashby, I just adore him. I love the coven members, Roman makes me giggle with his stoic attitude. David and Daniel are as cute as buttons. Lots of action in amongst this ever growing plot. Arkadia does realise how much it needs the vampires and I for one are glad they have arrived!
This is not my usual genre. I really enjoyed the relationship between Ashby and Gabriel. The author showed the growth in confidence and self worth of Ashby. The feelings of inadequacy and self esteem were so real. We all at some point in our lives have these feelings. The author was able to convey the depth of emotion and shows her talent in this book.
Fantastic! Full of danger, action and sexy romance this book was hard to put down. I haven’t read the previous books in the series but I certainly didn’t take away from enjoying this book. I look forward to going back and reading the others and continuing the series as well.
The characters are fun, funny, and create a great world to visit, the only drawback is that only the first four books are available, I'd very much like to read the other 2 stories and can think of several other characters that would be great if they hopefully get their own stories
I read this because I really like a lot of the characters, but sometimes the story felt rushed and there was a lot of overexplaning on things that didn't need it and there was not enough emphasis on things needed to flesh out the story. I'm still planning to finish the series, but it can get irritating.
The story of Prince Gabriel and shifter fox Ashby was fabulous. There is nothing like a good love story and whether the story is about a man and woman or same sex couples should never matter. Love is what matters and regardless of where it comes from should be revered.
In book three we meet Gabriel, the oldest known vampire in this series. We also learn new vampiric lore and history. Different authors have their own take on vampires but Alder explains the lore and the background so the reader can understand and remember her information. Can hardly wait for book #4.
I have waited for this book for so long. But it's perfect. Gabriel and Ashby are everything they should be. And, well, the most perfect surprise was exactly right too.
Oh I need an Ashby in my life :) I loved Ashby and Gabriel’s pairing. Can I just say omg Sebastian! Ok this book was amazing, I just love Alanea’s writing. I need to know how the gentlemen is now! I can’t wait for book 4 xx
I wasn’t sure if I would like this sort of romance, but it was beautiful and pure of heart and love. Plus, it furthered the storyline nicely. I enjoyed it.
