Violent Tendencies is Romance After Dark's Spring 2021 Anthology's Bloody Anti-hero collection. Each novel will be a brand new standalone, dark romance, with no cliffhangers. Violent Tendencies is intended for mature readers, containing material that some may find triggering. A full list of triggers for the included stories can be found inside the book, however, readers should proceed with caution as this anthology may contain material that people could find offensive.

A History Of Violence by Mallory Fox Four Star review
Wow, just wow, I freaking loved it and would to see this as a full-length novel. Viola trained assassin going undercover to find her target; however, she finds something totally different.
Viola is crazy, brilliant, and underestimated. She stalks her prey and knows when to attack, and no one is the wiser. That cocktail mixed makes her dangerous. Lorcan is someone who I, at first I thought was the lost ignorant bastard; he proved me wrong. So many secrets in the London pedigree society. On my car scale, it's gray. Steam between the two is 3/5. I hope to see them in future books.
This review is for The Reaper Incarnate by C.A. Renee and R.E.Bond Five Dark Stars
Wow, Just wow!!! These two ladies together killed it and didn’t shy away from any details. They’re queens of dark romance, a powerhouse together, And I feel like I am not worthy. They fed my dark romance addiction. On my deal scale, it's black, with so many triggers and kinks. So well written. I am comparing this book to Stephen King when it comes to some of the dark parts.
Selene is a vigilante, killing those who prey on the innocent. Her back story is horrific. She poses as a prostitute, stacks, and kills the predators. She meets Zander, Blaze, Santos, and Darius on a job. ( I am not going to get into much detail about that as I don’t want to give any spoilers, best to go in blind ) Santos and Darius are the crazy of the four. (my favorite two) Santos, who is the craziest. Santos and Selene are lethal together. In comparison, Zander and Blaze are more level-headed but still slightly unhinged. I would love to know more about Blaze's backstory.
I hope to see these two authors collaborate again. They took me in too a dark hole, and I didn’t want to climb out.
Hard Limits by Suki Williams Four stars Hard Limits is the first book I Have read from the author, and it won’t be the last. I didn’t expect such a unique story. I am surprised how much I liked it
The heroine is a High-end call girl with some serious secrets. The four men in her life are just delicious. I didn’t see some of Vas's attitude a mile away, and let me tell you, he shocked me, and I cringed on one occasion. It front happens often.
The writing is easy to read, and I was captive from the first page. I wish the story were longer, so they were more of a back story of all the characters and a little more detailed story. I felt some things were missing. The good news is they will be more, so I am excited about that. I will say this story may push your limits. It did for me, and I can’t tell you how happy I am. On my dark scale, it’s medium Gray.
This anthology is huge and dark and delicious. And many stories now I read maybe few in this anthology and And triggers for each one. Im say upfront these stories probably have ow/om stuff but it might not be consent in some stories. I skipped some stories because they are part of duets or aren't finished. Soooo my ass shall wait
I think you should read the 2 books (Nadia and Scarlett books) before this to understand the series. But again you don't have to I have been waiting for Alena story since I finished reading Nadia book. And it did not disappoint!! Be warned this one is on the dark side like super in that.
Alena has been tortured, beaten, raped over and over again for months she has fought stayed alive just so she can get her revenge one day. My heart broke for her she went though so much stuff had to do stuff to stay alive but now she has a cell mate that's more dangerous then the people who took her. And boyyyyy she made a impression on him. No one fucks over the Boogeyman Idris was retired until he was betrayed now hes in a cell counting down the hours until he breaks everyone's necks and has some intresting convos with Alena next door. At first he doesn't care he's a one man show until she worms her way into his skin he wants to help her.
And when they do get out its bloody and sexy lorddd talk about blood play lol these two make Desiel playtime look like kid play. Hunting down every sick person who is apart of this trafficking ring.
My only problem is.. I do wish it was longer... I needed more.

This one I had mixed feelings the love the plot a female vigilante taking power into her hands making sure any rapist/trafficker gets his. It was so lovely to see that.. I think I was mehh she would fuck the guys before killing them because she poses as a prostitute. But oh well that a me thing. When Selena is on her next mission she meets her targets son Zander and there sparks he hates her because she's fucking his dad but feels conflicted. He has his own crew 2 crazy guys Santos and Darius there are little insane if you ask me and grumpy Blaze. There meeting was tension and sexual and bloody and boy they all wanted a piece of Selena even if they were hiding it.. took Blaze longer (until the end of the book). I do wish we had a bigger group fking scene..
I was alittle sad that Zander didn't get to see Selena kill his dad he deserved to see that.

Evangeline is a daughter of a mob boss and has been sheltered most of her life now finding out the truth when her mother was murder opens her eyes. Now shes to be in a arranged marragie with Gaven one of her fathers assassin friends. The sparks are high between them even if Eva fights it but she is intrested in this man who shall be her husband. They also have lil drama with a shoot out and her annoying sister.
I was little bummed that Eva didn't stand up to her sister and show her claws.. and it kinda left us at a HFN

Wow this anthology was amazing. I’m quite surprised how much I really loved the stories except Sing Me A Song by C. A. Rene. They were dark, depraved, captivating and delicious and a hell lot of bloody. And all the characters were freaking amazing too.
**I Received an ARC of "A HISTORY OF VIOLENCE" By Mallory Fox for a Honest Review.** FB Page | Instagram | Bookbub | FB group
5 Fucked Up Stars⭐ Seriously, This Quick Novella is HIGHLY DARK with Graphic Violence, Blood & Gore, Action Packed, Killing without Remorse & Many Triggers, so heed the Author's warning.
AUTHOR'S NOTE: A History of Violence is a serial killer bully romance. This is a revised MF standalone version especially written for Romance After Dark’s Violent Tendencies Anthology. It’s solo release, in May 2021, will be RH, much longer, and book one of a four book series. A History of Violence is also intended for mature audience....Please read at your own discretion.
So, I don't normally read Dark romances, but when I do read them, I like'em Dark. And this book gave me that! I can't wait for the full RH version!😍 We didn't get much of History, just enough which makes me want more.
Viola, our FMC, is a 21yr old assassin. A little Crazy But VERY Smart & Badass. Like Cut the dick off the Rapists & LITERALLY feed'em Kind (Which the Bastards totally deserved!!😈). As this version is a MF, we've got our Anti-hero HERO/Her target (Which she later finds isn't Directly the MAIN Culprit): Lorcan. Adopted son of a big Crime Lord, Is in high school.
These two Really mesh together greatly, With their Mask hiding themselves from the World. The Void within, The Coldness, Burning Rage...& Can't forget the Intense Sexual Attraction! And There's a Child Prostitution ring that needs to be cracked... I'm not giving away much about the story, though I've to say..This Story IS A STANDALONE, ending with a HFN. But Viola's Journey is just starting...& I want to see what'll happen next! ———
I Haven't got this anthology, so haven't read the other stories in it yet, but you BET I'll read'em when I have time ASAP!
So, if you're considering reading this book - you're probably a fan of dark romance or one of the authors, yes? Maybe several of them? Maybe you're like me and can't get enough of the darker side of romance. The alphaholes, bad boys, the villains, or the anti-heroes... Do you have any triggers? None? Okay, excellent. You're in the right place.
Let me tell you something and it's 100% true. Every single author in this anthology is phenomenal at what they do. I'm not even hyping for them (even though it may seem like I am). I'm just being real with you. These authors never cease to amaze me. Ever found an author that just resonates with you? This anthology - expect several to do just that.
Here you go. You're welcome. Actually don't thank me. Thank Sam for putting this together. The fact that someone actually listens and hears what readers want more of is phenomenal too.
I'm not new to this genre. This genre is what keeps me reading and coming back for more.
Every story in these pages had me on the edge of my seat. I want to know more about every single character. I want to see every story expanded into a series. Maybe? I'm sure hoping for that. At least a standalone per story, please. Definitely prefer series though! Js ;-)
I wrote a review for each story. Just know this! Every single one of these stories is worth way more than what we paid for the whole anthology.
Definitely recommend it if you like dark and twisted. Not suitable for anyone who has triggers.
Reaper Incarnate - CA Rene and RE Bond:
I think I need a bit to fully process what I just read. That was my first thought after reading this story. It was amazing. Selene is all that and a bag of chips. And Santos - I need a Santos in my life. Actually, I probably don't, but it would definitely liven things up, haha. Actually I'll take them all.
This story starts out with a bang and a bang. It doesn't slow down either. I need more of these characters in my life.
These two ladies writing together is dangerous. I'm loving every single word. Both of these authors are amazing. I've read everything they've both written and will continue to do so. Some authors just do it for you. I like their writing style and the brand of darkness both bring to a story. On their own they are perfect. Together it's explosive.
Please give us more of these characters. Selene is unapologetically unique and does whatever needs to be done to accomplish her goals. My kind of heroine.
Do I recommend this? Absofuckinglutely. If Selene is like crack to the boys, this story is like crack to me.
What's it about? It's about a girl with a past who takes down rapists, pedophiles, and general scum who prey upon women and children. She meets four guys and becomes embroiled into their plot to save some people when their goals align.
It's bloody brilliant. It's dark. It's a page turner. AND I WANT MORE. :) I also want to know about that driver who takes her to Zander's dad.
Love it, love it, love it.
Hard Limits - Suki Williams:
I read Suki's debut book a while back and was over the top impressed. When I saw it's the same author, I had high expectations - every single one of them were met!
I flove Nic. She's unapologetically real and while I can't relate to her, I adore her. I love reading characters that seem authentic (or at least how I perceive authentic to be from my own limited perspective). It's damn good writing.
I love the opening scene. It kept me on the edge of my seat throughout the whole story. I never quite knew what to expect.
In this story, we see different sides to Nic. We also get to see different sides to Vas, which I like a lot. I do want to know more about Bodhi and I'm literally dying to find out if she's right about Sascha's interests.
Suki is going to be a one click author for me. I can't wait to see what she writes next. Great characters, amazing story, and superb writing. Love it!
A History of Violence - Mallory Fox:
Love this little MF story! Lorcan and Viola are amazing. Viola is a bad@ss assassin and Lorcan has a dark side too. A little dark, a whole lot sexy, and bloody to boot. I'm in love.
I think I'll love it even more in the whole book version seeing that it's going to be RH. I'm excited to know more about Dante and (forgot his name!) the red head guy especially.
Great story and characters I want to know more about - Definitely a keeper! Just like the blurb says, "violent, bloody, and raw."
Misery - Loxley Savage:
Savage is true to her name. This story is insane and I love every minute of it. Oscar and Ash are a hot mess. This is a dark captive romance - with a touch of what some may call Stockholm Syndrome. But is it really?
Ash met Oscar in HS. He fell for her instantly. She was worried about what other people thought too much and was afraid of him. So, she rejects him.
He never forgets her and looks for her for years. As luck would have it, he acquires her though some rather illegal means. He's a whole lot Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde. She's trying to survive, until the endorphins hit. He does a few things that win her over.
I love this story. Again, I can't relate with either of the characters, but it's damn good writing and I really hope to read more about these characters again.
Alena's Revenge - KA Knight:
Alena is not one to give up. She's a fighter, despite everything she's been through. And let me tell you, she's been through a lot. She lives for Revenge, with a capital R. She won't stop until she gets it. She just has to find a way out of her current circumstances.
Enter Idris aka The Boogeyman. Off searching for someone he knows from his reclusive life in a small town in the middle of nowhere, he ends up in the same place as Alena.
I've been a KA Knight fan since I read the first book in her Champions series. Now, I've read everything she's published, because she's another of those authors I can't get enough of. Fan for life.
Love this story and these characters. Especially this author. Can't wait to see this in a full length version.
Sing Me A Song by CA Rene:
First thing... CA Rene never disappoints. Her imagination is a dark and scary place and I adore her for it. She could literally write a cereal ad and I'd read it. Can't help but read everything she writes. She's amazing. This book is amazing. She knocked it out of the park with this one. I am dying to know more.
Tempest and Raiden are one of those epic stories that once you read it, you'll never forget. Unforgettable story and characters. I want to know more about every single one of the side characters too. I feel like they each need a story. Here's hoping!
Don't start this book late at night. You won't be able to stop turning the pages til it's done.
I started this book last night at 10:30PM. I told myself, I would just read a chapter or two. Then, I read a few more. It didn't help that I was double reading everything in case I missed something. Ever do that? It's that good.
I kept telling myself, "Finish this chapter and go to bed." Did I listen to myself? Nope. Sound familiar? Good to know it's not just me.
As always, Rene writes dark romance drama like a pro. These pages sizzle. Chemistry is an understatement. I did not want it to end.
And that ending... daaaaaamn. I'm all over the place today.
I need more of these amazing, phenomenal, addictive characters.
Please, please, please make a (LONG) series out of this!
Sinister Engagement - AJ Macy & Lucy Smoke:
I love this story! First off, slight spoiler but I expected the sister to be a villain. Yep, so anyway, moving on!
I was on board for this whole story. I didn't want it to end. I'm hoping it gets expanded too. I really want to know more about these characters. I feel like there's more to the story.
Reviews : REAPER'S INCARNATE : Holy shit. This author duo completely destroyed me!! R.E. Bond and C.A. Rene gave me the exact dose of darkness I expected from these two and I loved it so much!
Selene was one of my most badass female characters and I love her so much. She has plans and aims that she needs to achieve. What she didn't expect was for a bunch of boys to try and hinder them. Now they all are stuck together and it doesn't take her long to know that there are a lot of new enemies that she needs to look out for.
The story was full of sass and suspense and a must read for all the dark romance lovers out there!
ALENA'S REVENGE : Holy shit, this was dark. Like a twisted type of dark.. And my dark romance loving soul lapped this one in just a few hours. I just couldn't stop reading when I started ! This author had me hooked right from the start to the very end.
I have been a huge fan of K.A. Knight and this book was her best for me. A must read for all the dark and twisted romance lovers. This one is full of triggers so please keep that in mind before reading it!
SING ME A SONG by C.A. Rene Holyyy shittt, I don't think I'll ever tire of the brand of darkness this author gives to me! Simply amazing! This book was no less. Even though It was a short read , C.A. Rene managed to stun me speechless with this one. I loved it soo very much! Raiden and Tempest's messed up relationship is just so addictive. Highly recommended read.
I always love a good psycho. I love it even more when it's the FMC. Selene is life!!!
The Reaper Incarnate is dark, but it is damn delicious too. R.E. and C.A. have combined forces for this story and I can only hope it will continue.
Selene preys on the predators that take advantage of innocents. She meets Zander, Blaze, Santos and Darius, and pretty much hits it off immediately with Santos and Darius. The tension between Selene and the guys is 🥵🥵
I hope to see both of them collaborate again, and maybe get more of this dark, epic tale.

A History of Violence By Mallory Fox
As a first time Mallory Fox reader, I didn't know what to expect, but I need more! I am pretty excited that this will be turned into a full-length book!
I love Viola! Not only is she a strong FMC, she's a hired assassin with a thirst for blood and justice. She is given a target and goes undercover. Once she starts her job, she starts to discover that it's more than just the murder of an elite girl. Lorcan and Viola have tension, even if she is trying to keep him at arm's length.
I am intrigued by this story and cannot wait to read the full-length version. I need more!!

Hard Limits by Suki Williams
I am a first time Suki Williams reader, so I wasn't quite sure what I was walking into. I knew it was going to be dark because it's in Violent Tendencies, but whoa, this is loaded with all kinds of triggers.
I really enjoyed the thrill and suspense of this story. Nicholette is strong and independent, and I love that in a FMC. Her guys are all alpha and their chemistry with Nic is magnetic and hot!
I can't wait to see where this one goes in the Queen of Hearts trilogy!
🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤
Will add on to review once I have read others from the anthology.
This review is for A History of Violence by Mallory Fox *4 stars*
I felt that this was a good intro for the full-length book, which will be released in the next few months.
Viola is a hired assassin, which has a nick for killing in cold blood. I am curious about her story though; I didn’t get too much on her from this short story. She is hired to kill someone, and for this she needs to make good use of her beauty and keep her needs in place. Her target, Lorcan, is in a league of his own, he gives the vibe of rich boy and powerful, but there is something going on with him and his family.
Let’s just say that what Viola needed to do, wasn’t something easy to be done and in the end she and Lorcan began to be a team. I am pretty sure that this will be continued in the full series, hence way I said that this is a good prologue. It was an interesting read for sure, there was suspense, Viola is a strong heroine, who doesn’t back down from anything and she doesn’t appreciate speaking ill of her or doing things that piss her off. Oh, and don’t forget about the triggers, there are quite a lot and descriptive actions, you know which kind of action.
****************************************************************************** This review is for Hard Limits by Suki Williams *4.5 stars*
I'll state from the beginning, this is a RH story, full of triggers. Nicholette is a call girl, which has some hard limits when speaking of her sexual experiences and desires. She met Vas on her job, but when something happens and her talent is needed she meets the other guys, which part of Vas team, Sacha, Oliver and Bodhi. Their first meeting is full of surprises, there are secrets uncovered and strong vibes from all parties involved.
I'll not tell more about the plot, because it needs to be read in order to understand, but I am happy to know that this story will be continued, because I liked the premise. I don't read much RH stories, but this intrigued me, I didn't find so dark, but it was beautiful, Vas stole my attention, Vas, the big teddy bear with a hard personality. The other guys are good too, I like that every one of them has its place in the "team", each one with their personality traits.
The ending was kind of abrupt for me, I sensed that there was a scene missed, but maybe I'll read about it in the full story. Yes, it was a pleasant surprise this short story, which captivated my attention. Nicholette is a strong woman, who doesn't back down from any challenge and speaks her mind, even though she is somehow scarred, but this doesn't reflect in what she shows.
****************************************************************************** This review is for Sing me a Song by C.A. Rene *5 stars*
So, my dark readers friends, you will not be prepared for this story. I have started this with a complete another mindset, I even thought that is set in another timeframe. But, ohh boy, it knocked me on my ass, like completely. Now I want more, so can I pretty please request to have more about Tempest and Raiden, and/or Sky and Hail, fanning my eyelashes and all. What do you say Chrissy?
So, Tempest is a stripper and Raiden are part of a band, named Deluge. This story has some cult vibes, so they choose some women, or some women are chosen for them, to celebrate Raiden’s birthday and make some sacrifices. Of course, the women don’t know what they are in for, so for Tempest this offer is really appealing. But little did she know what will happen in Dominica, a Caribbean Island, myths and volcanoes island. Both Tempest and Raiden are damaged, had a troubled past, but I got love these kind of characters, and they are on my list now.
Ok, I would say more about the plot, I’ll let you discover it. But know this, it has a lot of weird scenes, weird in a good way, there are dirty, kinky, taboo scenes. Don’t let this scare you, I tell you this story is great. 😊
I might have even shed some tears of joy while reading it, because I was happy about it, like I don’t know how to explain, but do you know that feeling when the story you read is good and you like it, and you’ll leave anything else aside and just read it all, and then want more, and more. Well, this was me.
So, I recommend this book, if you didn’t get the idea from my review. So, Sing me a song!
P.S. Please, be aware of the triggers, there are quite many.
***************************************************************************** This review is for Reaper Incarnate by C.A. Rene and R.E. Bond *4.5 stars*
The Reaper Incarnate, is part of the Violent Tendencies Anthology, so as the title says, this book is violent, kinky, taboo, and dark. So be aware of the triggers, pretty please, if you don’t what to be scarred for life. Also, this is not for faint of heart people, so again please be aware of the triggers. This being said, I will continue to express my thoughts on this.
I shall say that it took me by surprise as well, I don’t have any triggers whatsoever, I’m open to read anything, but this surprised me. 😊 The authors, C.A Rene and R.E Bond, really did a good job and I didn’t even notice that there is a difference in style. Of course, I haven’t read anything by R.E Bond, yet, but their ideas and plot flowed effortlessly.
Selene is the Reaper, a girl who seeks revenge on the evil men, men who wronged women in a way or another, I think you get the idea on what those women endured, so she took it upon herself to punish those. But Selene has a reason for that, which is tied closely to her life. In her quest to clean the world of the bad people, she met four guys, Zander, Santos, Blaze and Darius, who have the same goal as her current “job”. None of them planned on this meeting and what followed it, but oh well they completed each other. These all four friends are alpha males with twisted minds, but don’t get it wrong Selene is an alpha too with a twisted mind, so this makes it more interesting. When all of them agree on something they explode.
This story is hot, steamy, twisted and will make you question yourself, for sure I questioned myself lol.
I should say that I call dibs on Santos and Blaze. 😊So, my dark reader friends, I recommend this story to you.
I will update with other books as soon as I ARC them
Also, HEED THE WARNING OF THIS ANTHOLOGY. It does contain many triggers and may not be suitable for everyone.

"I am no fucking saint, but someone has to right the wrongs of those who have no remorse for their actions."
Holy crap! Okay, where to begin? First of all, Fan-freaking-tastic story. I couldn't put this down. Selene sort of gave me a Baby Firefly (House of 1000 corpses) vibe.
This had everything, from MM, blood play, knife play, hunting down predators, revenge, Reverse Harem, hot, possessive guys.
"I hope you’re ready, Selene. My boys are coming for you." “I don’t give a fuck about your filthy money. No one touches my fucking baby girl!” Swoon
This is actually my first story by both C. A Rene & R.E. Bond, I'm definitely gonna check out more of their books.

“Everyone loves to play with those of us that are broken....Until they find all our sharp edges. But you and I, we rejoice at every cut. Every scratch makes us feel, proving to us that we’re alive.
NEED MORE!! This was a fantastic story!! I did not put this one down. I'm not gonna lie, I am such a sucker for these strong, independent, the IDGAF type of characters. Nicolette was all of the above with a side of sass. I am definitely going to be on the lookout for this series!!!
A History of Violence by Mallory Fox
🌟🌟🌟🌟/5
Incredible short story by Mallory Fox. I've loved her books since War of Hearts. What an incredible addition to this anthology. Viola is an assassin who seduced and took out a target. Her latest assignment required her to go back to school. What she didn't expect was to uncover a larger operation. Viola was my absolute favorite. She was such a badass chick, who isn't afraid of anythin and basically doesn't give a f*ck. She met her match when she fell for her target. I would definitely love to continue this series!!
If you are into the deliciously dark, devious, and down right dirty, this anthology is right for you
I received an ARC and voluntarily gave my honest opinion and review
Sing Me a Song by C.A. Rene 4.5 stars Different than a number of dark books I'm come across, and that's what made it so enjoyable a read. This book includes very dark themes and met my expectations for when a book is described as dark, it truly is.
I loved Tempest and Raiden, as well as supporting characters. I loved the diversity -- background, stature, features, ages, yet what they had in common was a brokenness and rising above troubling circumstance to not only own their past but to overcome it.
Gritty, a little (well, a lot by some) depraved, and steamy best described the storyline, great pace. The story unfolded deliberately. The chemistry between the characters was tangible; the camaraderie, affection, brother and sisterhood were heart-felt. Raiden was portrayed as a leader, in control, fierce, even scary at time; Tempest, confident, feisty, and empathetic. The attraction between the two was forbidden, adding an element of trepidation and mystery to the story. Combined with this fear, love scenes were striking, spiritual, dark. The steam was fire.
Overall an excellent story, simply enthralling. What it needed though was a smoother finish. I found the ending abrupt, forced even at the expense of a well-rounded conclusion. Just when I was really digging into the whys of this story, it ended up with lots of unanswered questions I was itching to know more about and have resolved. Not because I needed a neat little tied up bow, but the quick conclusion felt unfulfilling, sort of like your tastebud's desire for something sweet after eating spicy. The couple's declaration of love and HEA was quick, felt as a matter of course, and didn't have sufficient development to paint the book's finality, to permit transition from a tumultuous start underpinned with dark society to falling in love, being in love. Simply, I felt as if the couple didn't organically fall in love; they just decided they were in love; from the bad-boy antihero to an almost sweet one, from fearful aggression to sweet love. These shifts needed more denouement development to feel authentic, to close naturally.
These are not to diminish that I indeed really liked this book, and I would love to read more about this world and the characters’ future lives. Creative, atypical theme, dark (not claims of darkness but true darkness) all created for a book I really enjoyed.
The Reaper Incarnate 3.75 stars
Vigilante heroine Selene with hard life and broken upbringing decides to take matters into her hands to reap justice not only to a personal wrong but also as a hit woman for hired jobs. Along the way, she meets Zander, son of prime hit number one, Santos, Darius, and Blaze, with whom she forms a tenuous alliance.
Here's what I liked about this story: - The heroine was strong but flawed and accepting of her brokenness. She owned her past, and used its disadvantages toward her strengths. - Selene embraced her sexuality, was confident, and used those to achieving her objective. No need to slut-shame her; she was impervious. She owned who she was, even finding enjoyment in it. - Crazy antiheroes Santos and Darius knew what they wanted and found camaraderie with Selene in the mutual absurdity, depravity. - Zander fighting his attraction to Selene. - Everyone was comfortable in their own sexuality. - The steamy scenes. - The blood sport - The pace
Here's what didn't do it for me: - Loved all the strength of character, but the story read as something similar to what I've read before, a story of defeat the bad guy and meet sexy fellows along the way. - I didn't really feel a romantic attraction among the main characters, rather than a sexual attraction. Nothing wrong with that per se, except that it read more like a romantic suspense but without the suspense the usually carries that kind of drama. It was more something in the middle of riding the fence between both.
Overall, entertaining stories with Sing me a Song being a favored selection due to the breadth of story, the story development, the intrigue (secret society), and interesting characters. 4.0 stars
You know those men who preys on the innocent, they find their satisfaction in defenceless people, women, children anyone who hasn’t a chance to speak. These kind of despicable people who are never punished by the law and therefore walk away with murder cannot think to live their lives without paying their dues... Selene or Reaper Incarnate is the answer to your prayers.
I can’t tell you how many people I’ve wiped from the face of the earth and getting vengeance for those who were victimized by worthless pieces of shit.
She’s a solo Vigilante on a deadly mission to make all those pathetic, weak men pay. She is her own team and has always been on her own to carry out her mission. Until she meets a crazy out of this world group of boys who capture her interest. Will they also be brave enough to commit to her cause? Will Selene let them conquer her, be persuaded to be theirs?
A bloody combination of steam and chemistry, make sure not to miss this story and be ready to have your mind blown off. If you like a badass heroine who is the real reaper incarnate then this is for you!
Everyone knows there's a vigilante running around town, slaying those who prey upon the innocent or vulnerable.

Nicholette isn’t your typical call girl, she’s a trained soldier carrying our orders, leaving blood behind her, any residue easily removed with a bubble bath. She leads a lonely life, she accepts her destiny or what she has always believed is her destiny. It takes a hardened team of four burly men to show her there is more to life than fighting solo.
This is the second story I read in the Violent Tendencies anthology, it’s another RH, I’m starting to wonder if to make a tale bloody you necessarily need a team 🤔 I hope to be proven wrong.
I didn’t particularly like this story, I’m only partly satisfied with the heroine, she is brave and beautiful, she wants to portrays a strong vibe but isn’t very successful, her tender side is too exposed.
I couldn’t connect to Nic and her four boys, I didn’t feel any real emotions among them, and some of Vas’ actions didn’t sit well with me at all.
Something else that didn’t work for me is how rape is portrayed, I feel rape is what it is, you can’t glamorise it, you can’t make it something else you can’t make it pretty, it’s not! I’m very picky when it comes to authors dealing with this issues, I’m aware only a few can manage this content. In this case it wasn’t handled well, the heroine perceives it as a kink, the feeling I got is that rape is like a heavy good spanking. I feel the author was so out of her depth, the result was rather poor.
There is a lot of dub/non con happening here, so if you’re sensitive or you have triggers proceed cautiously.

Fuck the system. I am the system
I love stories stained with blood whose heroine is a she Vigilante on her merry way to slay sick perverted men who force themselves on their unwilling victims.
Over the years, I’ve found one thing to be true—no one comes looking to seek justice for the monsters. And the darker they are, the more depraved I get to be
Viola is every man wet dream, she lures her chosen target into her web with charm and seduction. Little do they know her beautiful face is the last thing they will see, her supple flesh the last thing their living body will experience, her soulful eyes the last glimpse of life they will ever breathe.
Make no mistakes this lady killer has no regrets, she carries out her mission with dedication and attention to details. Her kills all go according to plan, life goes on flawlessly until her last target. Dark green impenetrable eyes, sinful body, enticing tats all over his sleek skin. An arrogant boastful self entitled prick, he’s also a killer and her next target. There is doubt in Viola’s mind, he must die a painful death... or maybe not? What if her captivating next target is more than meet the eye...? Let’s the fun begin 🩸🔪
I really enjoyed this short story, Viola is fierce, I liked that she thought with her own mind, she wanted to understand the how and why of things, she’s a well written heroine even if sometimes some of her words were a bit contradictory, especially in reference to killing guilty vs innocent, who may get caught up as collaterals, her needs and past aren’t explained in depth so some of her actions don’t add up.
It’s also true the author declares there is going to be the full-length version dedicated to this story and it will be part of series. I would gladly read more of this were it not for the fact that it’s going to be RH. Shame since I would have liked more of Viola and her untamed “target” 😉.
He gets me. He understands me. Because he has it too. And that’s more than I’ve ever dreamed of finding in this cold, empty world
Actual rating 4.5-Reaper Incarnate by C.A Rene & R.E Bond
I’m now in a position where I am questioning myself after reading this cause damn! . Dark, depraved, gritty and a whole lot bloody this was a riveting read. Please take note of the warnings before reading because I can see how this wouldn’t be for everyone. If you get squeamish of blood, knife play and other dark kinks you may want to rethink reading this. . Reaper incarnate is one of the stories in the Romance After Dark Anthology: Violent Tendencies written by C.A Rene and R.E Bond. Individually these authors write some unforgettable stories but together they have given us a masterpiece. This read was amazing. If your in the mood for a badass heroine that is just as depraved and dark as the men that are captivated by her then this read is for you. Selene is not your ordinary vigilante and that’s what I love. This story is so out of the realm of ordinary or vanilla and I’m here for it. . All the characters were amazing. All had their own little vice and kink and I was amazed that they all gelled together and that their dynamic worked. Very well throughout characters and a plot that was easy to follow and get lost in. I’m not gonna lie I would have liked more but this was great. This really set the tone well for the anthology and I can’t wait to see what other amazing ness is in store for us with the anthology.
*** 5star rating- sing me a song by C.A Rene
Just when I thought I had seen it all in Dark Romance Chrissy brings us something in its own ball game! Sing Me A Song is a story in the upcoming Anthology Violent Tendencies and after reading 2 of them now? I’m obsessed. . Damn this was a thrilling, gritty, dark and twisted read and I was here for every single second! The more I read from Chrissy, the more and more I become obsessed. I’m not sure what that says about me, maybe I need to see someone about it but dang, her stories are just another world. They are original page turners that just consume your soul. . The characters were amazing, I was so glad we got some povs for Raiden cause dang that man is twisted and I needed a deeper look. There is so much going on with these characters that I was amazed at the journey they took us on. Each with their own demons and secrets as well as hidden agendas and also their own version of self discovery. Tempest learns a lot about herself I feel but also grows into her true self which I loved. She was raw, real and someone a lot of people could relate to. I’ve enjoyed seeing her journey even the true darkness of it. It just made it more realistic. . Raiden is unlike any character I have seen and I couldn’t get enough. I need more of this world and I hope like hell Rene will take pity on us and give us more! The world is developed amazingly. So much detail, so much depth and a subject matter that will have you curious and hunger for more. There is so much speculation around the Illuminati that I enjoyed Rene’s take. This was an awesome read and I encourage all to read with caution and read any warnings. It says dark romance for a reason so please look into before diving in. . Amazing read Chrissy. I can’t wait for more of what you bring!

5stars- Alenas Revenge by K.A Knight
Disclaimer: please don’t go into this anthology lightly, especially this one, Alenas Revenge. It’s graphic, deals with sensitive and triggering content so please be warned. . Right off the bat, it felt like I was hit in the sternum and all the air knocked out of me. Katie has written something that will feel like you are being hit by a Mack truck. It’s tragically beautiful in the sense that I compared Alena somewhat to a Phoenix. She is incredible and after going through the horrors and tortures she has, her strength is amazing. I am truly awe stuck by her character and the way she came back fighting every time and refused to give up. . Idris, he’s the definition of a MMC I love. Both characters have their demons and shadows, . Pasts and presents that neither can escape or are trying to at the very least. Both characters amazingly written and have a story that is a must read in my opinion. And when they both got together, it was beautifully tragic music. Their chemistry, their individual and shared experiences made for a captivating and engaging read by these two amazing characters. . Even with the dark and depraved tones, there’s no denying there was something beautiful in their story, particularly Alena. This was a haunting read that had me at the edge of my seat the entire time and I cannot wait to see what comes of this, whether Katie decides to make it a full fledged book or not, but either way I want more. . Original, a page turner and a twisted and haunting read you will never forget.

5stars- Hard Limits by Suki Williams
Suki Williams is a new to me author and It’s safe to say she now has a fan for life out of me. . I was not expecting this at all. What a great edition to the anthology! The stories I have read so far are just amping up my obsession and need for this anthology to extreme heights! . These characters are awesome. I loved the sense of mystery and thriller throughout the story. The M/M was a surprise for me I wasn’t expecting that but I was here at the edge of my seat regardless. A very well written story that was easy to follow and holds your attention from the first page. The beginning had such a way to command your attention that you will be helpless to resist. . The characters were magnetic and engaging. I loved how they seemed to feed their need for certain things while also recognising what each other needed and could adapt to it. Such a compelling read with a dark and twisted world that I never wanted it to end. I was in denial when I reached the end so I hope we see more of this world from Suki soon cause she got me hooked!

5stars- A History of Violence by Mallory Fox
It CANNOT end there! OMG! . This is incredible. I was left hanging at the edge of my seat, the suspense was killing me and the intensity was off the hook! I can’t wait for the full length series of this. This was both the best and worse tease EVER and I want more, like yesterday! . Mallory slammed dunked this beauty, wowsers was it intense. The characters were great. Viola is in a league of her own and I love how cold and collected she is and I’m super intrigued to learn more about her past and how she came to do what she does. Her detachment really made for an interesting read. She is the definition of still waters run deep cause I feel like there’s just more wanting to burst out of her and I’m here for it. Lorca isn’t your typical rich prick arrogant character. And like viola he has so much more left unsaid and I feel like we didn’t even get a snippet so the proverbial carrot has indeed been dangled when it comes to him. . I didn’t expect him to come right out and say he did what he did, that threw me and I love the unpredictability and I love the mystery and suspense to the fact that what’s going on is a lot deeper and twisted. I’m chomping at the bit to see how this plot unfolds. So much was packed into what we got in this that I feel like the story can still go anywhere. And I have a feeling it’s going to get a lot more gory and a lot more twisted. So I say, bring it on! . Absolutely loved this. I cannot wait for the anthology to release to see what other goodies these amazing authors have in store for us! . ***
3.5-4stars Black Widow by Sheridan Anne
Mixed feelings. . On one hand I enjoyed the plot, I loved seeing the characters from Rejects Paradise and I enjoyed seeing Nic redeem himself and a new look into him as opposed to the psychotic killer side. . I have mixed feelings about Roni and I’m not sure if it’s because I don’t feel their connection or I just missed the point entirely but there just wasn’t anything there for me. I understand that who she was, the councillor side was someone she was trying to be, but I also didn’t buy that she was a gang leader or gang leaders wife either. Maybe I’m just indenial full stop about her and Nic but there just wasn’t anything there for me, which I hate saying cause I love Sheridans books but this one fell short for me. I also think the warning in the beginning wasn’t warranted. I fully expected a whole different level with this book, darker, more twisted maybe but it just felt like I was reading a shorter version of Ride or Die which was kinda disappointing. . I liked that Nic gave a explanation as to his feelings between ocean and Roni because that’s what threw me the most and while I understand it, it also didn’t diminish the fact there was no connection for me. Again I enjoyed the plot, I loved the action, I enjoyed seeing past characters but the connection between the characters fell flat for me which is what let it down for me. I hate giving reviews like this but at the same time I don’t want to say something I didn’t mean. Maybe if I gave it another read it might change my mind and I’d be happy to change my review but as of right now this is it.
I will update my review as I read all books in the anthology.
This review is for A History of Violence by Mallory Fox.
I started this one out assuming it was RH since the other were and I was very confused trying to figure out who the other guys were haha but once I figured out it wasn’t, I really got into it. The FMC was a total badass, kicking ass and taking names and not caring at all what others thought of her. I loved this story and it really made me want to read others by this author. I’m so excited for this entire anthology.
This review is for Hard Limits by Suki Willia.
I’m not sure what it says about me and my reading habits that I was excited for this book just because of the trigger warnings, but I was! And wow it did not disappoint.
Honestly I have been searching for books like this and struggling. So happy that these authors got together and did this. Hard Limits is fast paced and the plot will have you begging for more! Please pick up this anthology! You won’t regret it!
This review is for The Reaper Incarnate by CA Renee and RE Bond.
Wow. If anyone is looking for a book to fill the void of DoV, you’ve got it here. This book deserves more than five stars. The prologue comes in hot and this book never slows down. It gave me every hit of spice I craved, every bit of violence I hoped for, and PLOT.
I was thrilled with this first installment and I cannot wait to get the others!!
The Reaper Incarnate by C.A. Rene and R.E. Bond ~ Holy shit this story was good ! What a fucking brutal ride this duo took us on ! Selene is a bad ass strong willed female she is seeking out justice for her sister she seeks to rid the world of scum of the earth perverts in disturbingly sadistic dark and bloody ways . This story is dark bloody twisted and sexy af ! Sheesh the steam level in this one is high . This is a definite must read by this duo !
Sing Me A Song by C.A. Rene ~ Whoa this story is dark and all kinds of messed up it definitely sings to my dark heart ! I love this author she is a guaranteed mind fuck when you read one of her stories and I’m definitely hear for it ! I don’t want to give anything away with this one but I’ll just say Tempest is a stripper who catches the eye of Raiden the front man for former band Deluge who is rumored to have ties with the Illuminati. You guys this story is so good. I was sucked in right from the start ! Definite must read from this anthology!
Hard Limits by Suki Williams ~ This was my first read by this author and I loved it! I went in blind not knowing what to expect and I was so surprised! Loved the characters the plot the storyline is unique and I liked that a lot . It’s dark it’s dangerous it’s sexy definitely a must read of this anthology!
This is my review for Three Arcs in within the anthology, I will be editing this review as I read each story within the anthology. ARC received for an honest review.
The Reaper Incarnate - 4 Stars Okay... so WOW. I mean it doesn't lie when it says in the synopsis that it's going to be dark, bloody and not for the faint of heart. I mean even in the Prologue of this story we already know where we stand on the dark scale... the scale being pushed to "WTF did I just read that right?!"
Selene was a great FMC, she has a very dark past and uses that past to exact revenge on those who are the worst kind of bad guys, the rapists and the human traffickers. She poses as a sex worker to do her 'Reaping' and that is when she meets our male MC's. Zander, Darius, Blaze and Santos. I like to call them the bat-shit crazy four. Although I can imagine they're insanely hot and dark and dangerous, we don't really get much of their backstory.
As much as I enjoyed this story and the characters I gave it 4 stars because I was lacking that development of relationships between Selene and the Crazy Four. I feel like there wasn't much character development for some of the guy, I reaaaaally wanted to know more about Blaze, and I understand that this is a short story but I would've liked to see more connection shown between the characters apart from "she kills people, she's ours."
Hard Limits by Suki Williams - 4.5 stars
Omg seriously I wish I could read the full length of this already because DAMN this book was good. Just as dark as it was promised to be, the characters were just amazing. Not a full 5 stars as I just wished we had a little bit more back and forth with Oli, Bodhi and Nic because when we were just given a summary of their relationship I was so sad!
Nic is our FMC and she is a call girl with a pretty extensive client base, because she likes the kinkier side of things and she doesn’t have a lot of things she would say no to. I love Nicholette, she’s amazing.
Our band of Merry mercenaries are everything you’d imagine and more, I just really really wished there was more with them but I guess we’ll be getting that in her full length novel, I’m just so damn impatient!
I don’t want to go too much into this one for the sake of spoilers but seriously, hard limits was so good!
A History of Violence by Mallory Fox - 4 Stars ⠀ I loved this book so much. Again this is another one which has been adapted to be more of a short story for the anthology and it’s just left me wanting more and more and more. Viola was an amazing FMC, reminded me a lot of Lips from Hannaford Prep but a little bit older and a lot more deadlier. ⠀ She is cold, calculating and addictive in her thoughts. She’s a hired assassin and takes her jobs with a level of disconnect to the mark. Her next job requires her to use her beauty to catch the eyes of Lorcan as she steps into his playground, the rich preppy academy vibe. ⠀ Lorcan isn’t her usual target however, and soon she starts realising that not everything is quite what it seems. This felt like a really good prologue to the full length book that is coming out in May 2021 and although it was revised to be MF standalone, I honestly cannot wait to see what RH full series will be like!
I will be receiving a few stories from this anthology and will update my review as I read them.
This is 𝙍𝙀𝙑𝙄𝙀𝙒 #1 for The Reaper Incarnate:
Wow, these authors held nothing back, gifting us dark loving romance devourers with one heckuva a gritty, intense, bloody story that held me captive. I read it in one go. It was short enough to take up a couple of afternoon hours but had just enough depth and shock value to keep me entertained. I'll admit I had a bigger issue than expected connecting with the FMC, but I can't deny for a short story, this one kicked major butt.
This is 𝙍𝙀𝙑𝙄𝙀𝙒 #2 for Hard Limits:
Once again I find myself pulled into a story I normally wouldn't enjoy (the minor warning in the beginning), but surprisingly ended up devouring. The plot was so interesting and thrilling. I was not expecting some m/m action but I'm not complaining! 🥵 This was a unique RH group. The FMC's profession is non-conventional and her guys were okay with it. That had a bit of an "ehh" factor to me, but with how the author wrote it, she made it feel like a job which did help me separate the deeds with my feelings (I'm kind of possessive about characters lol).
Overall, I am digging this dark, twisted anthology. The stories so far are short enough to enjoy when you need a quick dark romance fix. I have SO many books on my TBR that it will be awesome having this large group of stories to dive into when I'm in the mood (cuz yea, I already pre-ordered the antho).
This is 𝙍𝙀𝙑𝙄𝙀𝙒 #3 for A History of Violence:
I definitely got the vibe reading this one that it's a prequel or prologue to a bigger story and that excites me. The FMC is badass, point blank. The things she does is intense. Heck, the whole story was intense including the MMC that has me so intrigued!! I also like that this one wasn't (that I know of) a RH. I LOVE RH, but it's a nice demonstration that this massive anthology is bringing a diverse, bloody, dark group of stories to us. There will be stories for everyone!
Damn, based on the 3 ARCS I got to read from this anthology, y'all aren't going to want to miss this!
Most anthologies I've read only contained stories that were a handful of chapters. NOT THIS BAD BOY. These stories are about half the length of an average romance novel. That's so impressive!!!!
I Will be Rating Each Story Individually, Total Them, Then I will be Listing My Review with the Overall Star Rating.
This is a Dark Anthology, Do No Think it’s just a Joke Title. So Don’t Act Surprised. You Have Been Warned. This Type of Genre is one of my All Time Favorites, and I’m So Excited to Read It!
Each Review will be Listed in the Order it appears in the Book, with the Title & Name of the Author. There will be No Spoilers From Me.
Current Overall Star Rating: 5/5

**1** Title: Hard Limits by Suki Williams
*Please understand, This WILL Most Certainly be >Expanded< at a later date, and will be a trilogy called Queen of Hearts! *There’s only so many words allowed in an Anthology :) Rating: 5/5 HEA(?): Technically, in this Anthology it CAN be read as an HEA. But it’s technically a cliffhanger :) Cliffhanger(?): Yes ☺️ Relationship Type(?): MMFMM M/M(?): It is lite for right now, and loved what was provided 😃 Dark(?): 3/5, in this anthology ☺️. But it may be darker for other readers. But I’m very confident it will be darker when expanded :) Dark Heat(?): Has Dub-con & Non-con, Really Enjoyed. 4/5. Seriously Loved it! Heat: 4-4.5-5/5, I also want to add that I love all the kinky-hints that will hopefully be featured in the expanded or other parts of the trilogy! So excited! Romance(?): for this it is insta-y, but then again this is to fit the Anthology but will expanded later. Drama: 3.5-4/5 Suspense: 4/5 Pacing: it is a bit fast near the end, but I pointed out the reason why. But other than I seriously enjoyed this book.
I am Seriously in love with this series! I am throughly excited to see where this is going and I’m highly anticipating the yummy heat scenes! I love Nicolette and I love the fact that she will continue her profession through the series, when typically it’s stopped. I love series/plots that aren’t common. This >for me< is a memorable read cause of the uniqueness. ☺️
**2** Title: Alena's Revenge K.A.Knight Rating: 4-4.5/5, Listing as 5. HEA(?): Yes. Stand-alone(?): Yes. It’s a part of a universe but can be read by itself. Humor(?): I Loved the sarcastic humor on this 3/5.
This is a really good book. There were some things I wish were in more detail. I would’ve like to have known how long she was a taken for and well as what was the name on her stomach example(s). Loved the vibe in the book based off of favored films as well.
“…serve fantasies as an angel or deliver torture and death as demon.”
An anthology that will take you to the dark side and believe me, you won’t ever want to go back!!! This is intense, bloody, violent, hot and full of adrenaline, I take my hat off to all these great authors who created with Romance After Dark the most addictive and dark anthology of 2021.
The Alter by Brynn Ford is just one small taste of what Brynn Ford can do in a new lens; Brynn ford has it, she has the gift of creating unique stories and captivating characters, this time I found the characters so much more, just more, and still with the same intensity and addictive personalities, Castiel and Tempest are one of my favorite couples; the sassiness that Tempest has, matches perfectly with the darkness of Castiel. The whole story is just perfection!!!
This anthology is in a new pedestal of dark, bloody and forbidden and I love it!!
The Reaper Incarnate by CA Rene and RE Bond ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Holy fucking shit. I’ve never read anything by these two authors before, but I definitely need to check out their other books now. I couldn’t put this down and was left wanting more when it ended. This book was dark, bloody, and had a ton of steam! Selene is a vigilante who is extremely good at her job and takes out the men who prey on innocent women and children. She doesn’t shy away from the darkness, she completely embraces it. She’s unapologetically herself with her sarcasm and twisted personality and I think she’s my latest girl crush. I absolutely loved Santos and he had to be my favorite of the guys. He’s psychotic in all of the best ways and reminded me of someone from another author’s books that gave me the fix I’ve been desperately craving. I liked Darius a lot too, mainly because he was the next craziest in the group. Blaze and Zander were more grounded, but they’re still just as lethal as the others and a little off their rockers to say the least. I was expecting a dark story and these authors delivered that and so much more. I loved that we got multiple POVs and a kickass FMC who could take care of herself. After reading this, I honestly cannot wait to see what the other authors in this anthology have come up with and I’m here for their twisted and deprived stories! Trigger warnings include: death, violence, graphic scenes, drug use, degradation, trafficking, rape, blood and gore, and plenty of kinks.
Hard Limits by Suki Williams ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ “I’m not a good person. At all. I’d much rather party in the darkness.” So... I need the extended version and full series now. Is it June yet? This is my first book by Suki and I have no idea why I’ve never picked up one of her books before. I loved the mystery, steam, and darkness of this story. Nicholette is a strong, independent person with a tough past and plenty of secrets. She owns who she is and what she does- never apologizes for it. Bodhi and Oli were my favorites who were extremely sweet and had darker pleasures. Vas and Sacha were the alphaholes who have a heart deep down. What I loved most about this story was that the guys respected Nic despite her job and were okay with her continuing as long as she made them a promise. I hope to see more of how their relationship expanded in the time gap and more steamy scenes as well. There’s plenty to fill in, especially Nic’s past and secrets and I can’t wait to discover it all! Trigger warnings include: rape, death, degradation, drugging, stalking, violence, graphic scenes, and abuse.
Alena’s Revenge by KA Knight ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ “Just because you’ve lived in darkness doesn’t mean you know someone else’s shadows.” I can never seem to get enough of Katie’s work! She weaves together such beautifully broken stories that pull at my heart. This book was dark, bloody, and had the ultimate revenge and justice. I fell in love with what these cruel people turned Alena into. We don’t get to know too much of who she was before except for some glimpses, but she’s now determined, strong, and relentless, but also still has a moral compass and has a will to fight for justice. Idris, known as The Boogeyman to others, was intimidating, unfeeling, and an ultimate machine. I loved their chemistry, snark, combined strength, and how they made each other feel accepted, but most importantly what they found in one another. Katie, I need more of these two and how Alena reintegrates into life again. This book had all of the feels with broken, beat down characters and I craved every word of it. I enjoyed that this story tied in with Scarlett Limerence and Nadia’s Salvation and I can’t wait for more stories in this world! Trigger warnings include: torture, blood and gore, graphic scenes, abuse, knife play, blood play, death, trafficking, rape, and degradation.
A History of Violence by Mallory Fox ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ “I hate it when a guy calls me crazy. It makes me want to do crazy things.” This is the first book of Mallory’s that I’ve read and it definitely won’t be my last. This book was a little slow to me, but I loved that everything wasn’t black and white- it had tons of gray. I enjoyed the slight age gap, bully romance with dark themes and an intriguing mystery. Viola was an interesting character and I really want to learn more about her past. I loved her fierce, dark, and defiant personality and her give no shit attitude. Lorcan and Dino are what you expect on the outside- rich, privileged assholes, but there’s so much more to them. Dante kind of broke my heart a little and I want to see more of Saskia. There was more than meets the eye with each character and Viola’s job which is what I enjoyed most. I wish we got some more POV from Lorcan, Dino, Dante, or even Saskia. I know this was a short version of the story with an MF romance, but I can’t wait for the full RH to come out in May! Trigger Warnings: Blood and gore, death, graphic scenes, trafficking, drugging, and kidnapping.
The Reaper Incarnate by R.E. Bond & C.A. Rene (Rating 5 stars)
*Please read the trigger warnings before reading* Honestly, where do I even start?! I will forever love this duo and all they accomplish. They are seriously some of my favorite authors and together they just killed it. While the book is a short read I swear you won't be disappointed.
Selene is a bad*ss b*tch and a psycho to boot lol. Santos is my soulmate and I love him lol. The only only complaint is i WISH it was longer!!!
If you love dark romances and all the kinky, taboo and psychos you can find then HIGHLY (like screaming from the rooftops) recommend you to read. I swear you won't be disappointed.
Hard Limits by Suki Williams (Rating 5 stars)
Holy sh*t. This story was amazing and I just NEED more. We follow the tale of Nicholete and part of her journey as a call girl.
While I did love the story and thought it was amazing, the book itself gave me the feeling of reading a trailer to what is to come (kind of like a movie). And it makes sense as we are assured there will be a series to come involving Nicholete. The book did a great job of pulling you in and leaving you wanting more and you can just tell there is more to come.
I will say that the book does leave something to be desired as the ending wasn’t really an ending and I’m glad that she states that it’s a start of a series to come. That’s really my only negative with the book.
A History Of Violence by Mallory Fox (Rating 5 stars)
I mean what is there to say! This book was fantastic and I’m literally addicted to it! So much so I’ve pre ordered the full length RH version.
This definitely hit my needs for being blood thirsty and a killing machine. Viola is everything I wish for in a killer and Lorcan is the embodiment of sexy! Just those two together are amazing and seem to compliment each other in the best of ways. Also the idea of a school for murderers?! Who would of thought and it’s something I definitely need a longer more intense series of!
Honestly I can’t praise it enough nor can I wait for the full length and hopefully a series to come!
This is my review for The Reaper Incarnate. This is one book in the antho Violent Tendencies. This book was written by CA Rene and RE Bond. Where do I begin? This book had me captivated from the prologue to the last page, and I’m still trying to find more pages. This book is dark, but that’s exactly what I was expecting and wanted! I love both of these authors and for them to come together to give us this beautifully written co-write had me in complete ecstasy! If you like dark reads, then this is definitely the book for you. I’m hoping that there will be a continuation of this story. Please heed the trigger warnings as this book is dark. Not too dark for me but hey I’m a little crazy 😜 I will update this review as I continue reading the antho ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Hard Limits by Suki Williams
This is the first book I’ve read by Suki Williams. I knew going into it that it was going to be a dark read, especially considering it’s part of the Violent Tendencies antho. Nicholette is a call girl who meets one of her harem while working. She gets sent on a job by her boss and when she gets there she is introduced to the other 3 in her harem. This book has some steamy scenes. Please heed all trigger warnings before starting this book. I definitely recommend this book and I am looking forward to reading the rest of Nicholette’s story in Queen of Hearts ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Sing Me a Song by CA Rene
I love CA Rene so much! I love the way she writes and how detailed her stories are. I found her during a random search and I instantly fell in love with her writing. Tempest and Raiden are explosive! I knew that reading this book was going to be dark, and boy did CA Rene not disappoint me! Blood, gore, and violence! This book had it all! I personally don’t have any triggers, but I do implore you to read the trigger warnings. They are there for a reason. This book is an absolute must read! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Hard Limits: 🌶Check the trigger warnings before reading🌶
Suki hooked me within the FIRST CHAPTER! The FMC is a call girl who has a traumatic past, but has not let that stop her. She manages to get herself a four man harem, a boss who is her ex, a stalker, & a loyal client base.
This story IS set to be expanded in the Queen of Hearts Trilogy & I CAN NOT wait for it!
The Reaper Incarnate by C.A. Rene & R.E. Bond 5/5 First let me just say that C.A. Rene has worked her way into my black heart and dayum mami I'm just going to start stalking you. I have a feeling R.E. Bond will be the next window I'll be peeping into all stalker like.
These ladies pulled off one awesome story. The steamy scenes were hot asf and not at all what I thought I was going to get. Let's just say I needed a cold shower after one of the scenes.
Selene is a bad chica and I loved who she had in her corner. That made the story that more twisty.
Sing Me a Song by C. A. Rene 5/5 My new bae but she don't know yet. Yoooooo you just turned me on to a kink I didn't even know I needed in my life.
I have book ADD. I hop around from book to book until I finish them because boredom or just needing to get through a few for ARCs, or depending on my mood or if I can read vs. listen but once I started Sing Me a Song, nothing and I mean nothing could tear me away from it.
This story stuck it's claws (maybe I should say blade) in me and would not let go. I didn't bounce around, I just read until I was finished.
The way some scenes were described, I just pictured it in my head and was totally lost and in another world. I didn't want it to end. Held my interest from start to finish and left me with a serious book hangover. I need more of these characters and this world.
Hard Limits by Suki Williams 5/5 Ok Suki, you immediately grabbed my attention with just the first few paragraphs, so I knew I was going to be in for a ride.
What I loved the absolute most about Hard Limits, Nicholette, our FMC, is a call girl. Like she has a life already, doing what she wants. And she dgaf.
The story isn’t just about her and her men and their steamy hot times, there’s a really great plotline full of suspense and mystery.
Definitely plan to continue the series once it comes out.
Side note - this analogy is going to have me stalking so many new authors. Each piece so far has been unique in its own way but all have been dark and delicious. WOOOO!
A History of Violence by Mallory Fox
I am a diehard Dexter fan and as I was reading this, I was like this chic needs to team up with my man and rule the world and get those bad guys!!!
So yea, I loved this contribution to the Anthology and I knew I would because Mallory had me at serial killer.
Can’t wait to get the full version of this story because who isn’t going to love RH elements thrown in with our beautiful murderess.
I have just finished the first book in this anthology The Reapers Incarnate and daaayyyyuummmm! I think this is the hottest book I have read all year! It has everything dark and twisted book lovers dream of and I just couldn’t get enough!
This review is just for Reaper Incarnate by C.A Rene and R.E Bond (I will update this as I read more) OMG this book has it all in my eyes!! It’s dark, raw, gritty and so much more that words can describe. Selene is one of the best heroines I’ve read, she has taken it upon herself to remove the scum and people who should be dealt with in a very painful way and the moment she meets her boys who have the same goals as her it’s game on baby!!
Hard Limits by Suki Williams 5 stars
I might be a bit obsessed with the FMC Nicholette, she was so fierce that she made this story everything!! Hoping this will be a full length novel soon
So this review is going to be a work in progress as I make my way through the stories. I really want a full length novel for each of story - I feel cheated by them being novellas!
Reaper Incarnate
Hot damn! I totally fell for each of the characters’ own brand of craziness. Brilliant plot with enough little twists to keep me guessing down to the end.
Hard Limits
This one was really limited by being a short. The bones of the story were in place, the MC was an awesome blend of kickass and intriguing backstory but the narrative bounced past all the bits that would have made it epic. *And I've just heard from the author herself that an expanded version of the story is due out in the summer. I have high hopes for this story!*
A History of Violence
This was the first time I'd read a dark high school story and this one did not disappoint. In fact I'm convinced it's been set up for a full length story about the mysterious notebook and how it came to be.
Misery
There is beauty in this darkness. Misery is the story of the darkest caterpillar emerging as a black butterfly. I don't want to post spoilers but will say that this story left me speechless in the best possible way.
Alena’s Revenge
Well there was no holding back with this one - it was punch after punch of violence and lust and steaming hot sex. A warrior survivor at her finest!
Savage Hero
I’m not sure I was on the right reading headspace when I read this one. I feel like I should’ve loved it but for some reason I just wasn’t engaged with it. Also, cliffhanger. I was not expecting that.
Sing Me A Song
Please tell me this story is only the beginning! There is something about the connection between Raiden and Tempest that makes me want to pick it apart and try to figure it out. I love the fact that Tempest is the perfect anti-heroine.
Sinister Engagement
Not so sinister but definitely hot. Okay, the arranged mafia marriage has been done before and there wasn't anything particularly novel about this story but it was a good read and I'd be happy to read more about Angel and Gaven in the future.
I received a copy of this book from the publisher/author to review.
This is a review for The Alter by Brynn Ford. This is the story of Tempest and what a story this girl has to tell. The world as we know it has been destroyed and she is living in the tower where it is safe and she is being taken care of by the Deity. After wall your not safe anywhere when your city has been run by the Savage Syndicate. She serves in the tower as an Alter or a demon and has her jobs to do all while the Deity watches over the entire thing. It's been a decade and now for the month she has been there she has been safe and has no intention of ever leaving the place and considers herself the best at what she does. But one day and she finds herself in deep deep trouble with the Deity. She has let out secrets and there is no coming back from that and she fears she is dead. However......well you have to read to see what happens. I loved this story so much. I could have read it for forever and never grown board of it. You don't want to miss this story.
