Miami Nights #3

How Much I Love

Rate this book
Wyatt

My name is Wyatt Blake. I'm a cardiothoracic surgeon in Phoenix. When I was 17, I had a heart transplant that saved my life. That's not something I tell just anyone, because I hate being defined by the illness that ruled the first half of my life. The average life expectancy for a transplant patient is 11 years. I'm 34, and in case math isn't your thing, that puts me about six years past my expiration date when I spend a weekend at my buddy Jason's wedding in Miami and meet the sexiest bridesmaid in the history of sexy bridesmaids.

Dee Giordino. She's sweet, kind, loving and drop-dead gorgeous. I love every minute I spend with her.

We had so much fun together at the wedding, and when I invited her back to my room after, we had the best night I've ever had with anyone. And now I can't stop thinking about her or texting her or wishing our one-night stand could somehow be more, even though "more" isn't in my vocabulary.

When Jason tells me there's an opening in my specialty at his hospital, I come running back to Miami to interview for the job. And to see Dee again, even though I know that's completely unfair to her. In light of my situation, I've become the king of the one-night stand. It wouldn't be fair to drag someone else into my reality when my future is so uncertain.

But Dee, she's different from the beginning, and maybe, just maybe, I might have to break all my rules for her... Fair or not.

The blurb may tease at a love triangle -- but don't worry, there's no three-way hanky-panky going on in the third charmer in Marie Force's Miami Nights Series.

You're going to love it though -- and that's all you'll get from me until closer to release day in June, 2021!

Another amazing book in the Miami Nights series. Dee and Wyatt had an intense connection to each other when they meet for her cousin Carmen and his friend Jason’s wedding. They were paired up as bridesmaid/groomsman and spent the day and night talking, laughing and getting to know each other. That lead to a one night stand.

Now after several months of texting, Wyatt is interviewing for a position at the hospital in Miami. He wants more time with Dee even though he has rules for himself that preclude any relationships.

Dee has continued to think of Wyatt since their time together, but she is also dealing with a family medical crisis as her mother is battling breast cancer, and she is hit emotionally when her ex keeps attempting to make contact.

Wyatt and Dee have an intense connection and they each have to come to terms what being together means since he has far exceeded the life expectancy as the recipient of a heart transplant. Is the potential future heartache worth living and loving ‘the one’?! Really none of are promised more than today, so living in the moment is what all of us should keep in mind.

This is a special and heartwarming story of living your best life and not restricting your decisions based on what could go wrong or what if’s. I love the Giordino family and how close and supportive they are for each other. I especially enjoyed the extra time with Carmen/Jason and Maria/Austin plus his little girl Everly!

I preordered a signed paperback and received my copy early at Marie’s Readers Weekend.

How Much I Love is a beautiful story, full of feels. That really resonated with me because I have a long term illness and so there was a lot in Wyatt's background that I could relate to, and at times I found it quite difficult to read. But I also found it extremely uplifting and heartfelt, especially with the way Dee helped Wyatt to realise he needed to live life to the fullest and not regret a single moment. Which is definitely something I've come to appreciate particularly after the last eighteen months. And with such a wonderful group of characters and a delightful romance I was utterly captivated throughout.

Furthermore, I really liked the pacing of the story and the multiple points of view, especially as they included Dee's ex Marcus, who is struggling with an addiction he kept hidden from Dee for many years.

Would happily recommend.

This book is something else, the best of the series so far. Wyatt is s heart surgeon and he himself is a transpantee. He had a heart transplant when he was 17 years old after many years suffering. Now, he is healthy and treats himself well. But his heart has a time-limited and because of that he does not want love. However, after meeting Dee in his best friend wedding he cannot forget her and suddenly has the decision of moving to Miami so pursue her.
Dee is hesitant, how can she get involved with someone with an expiration date? It is difficult to give your heart like that, but in the end love survive. I think the book brings some serious questions to the table and I confess that the book made me a little sad but I loved the book so much. I loved it!

We met Dee in the previously two books and found out her boyfriend of many years ran off and married someone else without telling her and now wants her back. Dee met Wyatt while being a bridesmaid to her cousin Carmen's wedding and had a one night stand with him with the thought she was never going to see him. Fast forward months later and Wyatt is interviewing for a job in Miami and wants to see her. Unbeknownst to her family she has been texting with him off and on the past few months and her family sister and cousin is not aware of the intimacy between her and Wyatt that happened from the wedding. Although there is a part of the storyline about her ex wanting her back this is definitely not a triangle love affair. Wyatt character/personality was so selfless trying not to get connected to any woman because of his heart condition and how Dee broke down those walls and them navigating how they want to live their life without focusing on what may or may not happen to his health. It was so heartwarming catching up with the previous two couples Jason Carmen Maria and Austin.

I was really looking forward to Dee’s story after the glimpses we have gotten in the first two books of the series. She went through a lot of heartbreak with her ex. I liked that Wyatt and Dee had an instant connection at the wedding, and that it continued via text afterwards. They were really good for each other. He was only living half a life with his strict rules for his future. I loved that she made him want to throw them all away for her. This group of characters are so lovable and a lot of fun. Their extended families add so much extra to the stories as well. I have really enjoyed this series.

DNF. Time of death 47%. Marie force - girl WHY would you write this???? This is not how normal people act! Who falls in love after 1 day? Who professesses their unwavering love after finding out the other person is living on borrowed time the 2nd day they see eachothrr. And similarly who would uproot their whole life and move states AFTER A ONE NIGHT STAND. And why did we need Marcus' pov?? Just doing anything. Litterally nothing happened in all 151 pages I read, the story didnt move an inch. They were in love from page 1 and 151 pages later (= THREE DAYS) they're even more madly in love. Give it up!

I think this was my favorite of the trio. The dreamy doctor with the heart transplant and the brokenhearted latino who doesn't see her own worth just got me.

How Much I Love

I loved the other two books in this series, but this was just not Marie best. I loved the characters and the story but I kept expecting more. It was just very fast , not sure why Marcus had his POV in this book ? Dee and Wyatt book was good but just wanted more I guess ?? Looking forward to more of this series.

3.25 Stars. Both of the first two books in this series were 5 Stars ratings for me. With this gifted author, I expected more with this book. I finished the book disappointed. It was lacking that something extra that takes Marie Force’s works to another level.
It was an emotional original plot, unfortunately Wyatt’s condition led to repetitive conversations. The love scenes lacked steam. The “spice” was missing from the family discussions at the restaurant, which were my favorite parts from the previous books. The story did bring tears to my eyes at times, especially since I am currently fighting two cancers and facing a second transplant.
I also couldn’t fully get behind the instant love aspect. Maybe it would have been more believable to me if Wyatt and Dee had spent a long weekend together for the wedding, instead of just one day and night.
The author took the storyline in a very predictable route and just teased us by giving us Marcus’ POV. It does seem the next installment will center around the hot headed and playboy, Nico. Now that should be entertaining.

No risk, no reward and this romance is all well deserved reward

How Much I Love (Miami Nights Book 3) by Marie Force is a heartbreaker as much as a heartwarming read. Wyatt and Dee had the universe speak to them. Their journey is full of ups and downs, uncertainties and worries until both of them agree their love is too precious to ignore.
I love the optimistic outlook of Dee and the depths of her heart, capacity to love knows no bounds. When it comes to Wyatt, she’s ignoring all her usual due diligence. And Wyatt, he’s always had a set of rules when it comes to relationships. A second look and everything, all caution, is out the window and full steam ahead.
Overall, Dee and Wyatt fall fast and hard, almost instantaneously, but not without a few pitfalls and emotional hiccups along the way. But in the end, neither no thing nor no one can stand in the way of their HEA, not even themselves. If you love romance with Heroes full of heart and heat and only minor angst, you will love this book!

The heart of the matter!

I can honestly say I have never really thought about life after receiving a transplant organ! I have met people who have had transplanted lungs, but never a heart! I do know they are on a lifetime regime of anti rejection meds… and I even know of one individual who just got tired of the meds, and stopped taking them! That person gave up the life that was so important! But a transplant heart lasting beyond the 10 year lifespan…. a true miracle! This fictional portrayal of a love after a transplanted heart brought love to my heart! This storyline also dealt this another individual who was an alcoholic… the counseling he needed in rehab was extremely important to portray! One is never “not” an alcoholic, but there is life after rehab! There are so many challenges that we face in this life we live.. it’s refreshing to see those challenges met, and overcome!

Thank you for your amazing story's to your reads

“You can’t begin to know what you’ve done for me, Dee, how you’ve given me things I never dared to dream possible for myself. Before I knew you, I was living half a life, and now…” His voice catches, and he takes a second to deal with his emotions. “Now, my new heart doesn’t have enough room for all the love I have for you and the life we’re building together. When I said you gave me everything, I meant it. You’ve shown me that the things I denied myself are the very best things, the things that make life worth living. I know it’s all happened fast, but as you said, we have no time to waste. I already know what I want, and that’s to spend the rest of my life with you. Will you marry me, Dee?” “Yes! Oh my God, Wyatt! Yes, yes, yes, a million times yes.”

The thing is, there wasn’t any movement with this book. I guess I wanted a really drama-y and suspenseful book, but I guess this was heartwarming? I though there would be a death scare for a moment in this book, but mainly, it’s just peaceful.

Ah, i want to know whether H will live long, and I do hope so 😭. I sincerely wish it does not turn out like the book “Ruckus” where the h dies in the next generation book and the H ended up being interested in a mom immediately after her death.

Summary: H and h had one night stand, constantly texting her. Turns out her bf married and she had a miscarriage. Then turns out that bf was an addict and accidentally married. H thinks he won’t live long so he tried to warn h not to get attached but h convinced him to love her b/c what does it matter. Honestly, I don’t need to know more to remember unless my brain well, don’t know

Another winner in the Miami Nights series in which Dee Giordino finds her ONE in the guise of Wyatt Blake, a cardiologist, who was a groomsman at the wedding of Dee's cousin. He's studiously avoided getting close to a woman. After all, he's the recipient of a heart transplant and he's already exceeded the usual time such patients live with what he calls his "borrowed" heart.

But Dee represents living, not just waiting to die, so how can he not fall in love with her. Trouble is, Dee's coming off a rejection by the man she spent years loving, the one she expected to marry and have children with. Her heart still hurts with how he dumped her. Then there's the issue that really bowls her over. She who has always wanted children learns--is it too late to go home alone?--that Wyatt doesn't want children, lest he die and not be present to help raise them. Now what are they going to do?

Wow!! What an amazing book!

Every book Marie Force writes is great, but this one is special. It’s such an original storyline that evokes so many emotions. I’ve read countless books, and never one about a transplant patient living years past his expiration date! She’s built this amazing world with this series, complete with well rounded characters with the absolute best banter and dialogue! I immediately got sucked into the story and felt everything the characters felt, especially with Dee’s mom’s cancer battle. I helped take care of my Dad during his own battle, so it hit home for me. I loved watching Wyatt and Dee grow their relationship, and see more from Carmen and Jason and Maria and Austin from the first two books! I can’t wait to see what happens next!!

I truly love this series and this book especially.! 💟💟💟💟💟

See and Wyatt were the perfect couple from the time they met at her cousin's wedding, except they lived thousands of miles apart. Oh, and Wyatt didn't do relationships. From the time he left after the wedding, Wyatt and Dee kept learning about each other through text messagess, but never thought they would see each other again. But then Jason told Wyatt about a job opening in the Miami hospital in his speciality. Wyatt came running back, and of course set up another date with Dee. But not all is as seems with Wyatt . While their sexual relationship and chemistry is off the charts, that doesn't solve all problems. Please read this story

Rules? What rules?

Wyatt is living a half life, until Dee, she shows him that rather than living in fear he should be embracing every moment and celebrating it...can he learn to live a life of hope?
This book will definitely take you on a roller coaster of emotions: laughter, heart break, tears, outrage, hope, passion and....love. A whole new experience for Wyatt, but seeing him embrace this feeling and his life with Dee is heartwarming. A wonderful 'one night stand to once in a lifetime' love story that continues the Miami Nights series tradition of powerful, thought provoking, real life issues cradled within a love story that brings a tear to your eye but hope to your heart.

don’t know what to say, i m thinking if i m dee, what will i react? if i am Wyatt, how should i make that decision.

there, also some side characters making their view, decision in the story, it’s real life, how we react when we are under some life challenges, crisis. yup, think positive, but how can it lasts, someday, we will fall into the bad side, someday the things will not favour to us, someday……

i really feel different, maybe i am in my 50+, i see things differently, it change my taste of book, young adult with fairy tales not my cup of tea anymore, second chance, life and death is what i m looking for.

wants to be Nona, Abuela, or double V.

Sweet and yummy

It was so great meeting up with our new friends/family in Miami. That is how I think about the characters in Marie's books, each and every one of them first becomes a friend that I can't wait to catch up with, then by the end of the first book they become the family I use to dream about having when..... I find that when I am immersed in one of these books I get almost transported, especially to locations I am familiar with, and they never fail to make me laugh and cry sometimes both at the same time. I look forward to the next installment to meet up with my family in Miami.

Thank you Marie!

A faithful reader.

Marie Force has written one of the best love stories I've read in a very long time. It's beautifully poignant and profoundly moving; a real rollercoaster of emotions. I shed both sad and happy tears as I read. What kept running through my mind as I read was...live today to the fullest because tomorrow isn't guaranteed. Wyatt and Dee were just so incredibly captivating. They may have met when she was at a low point in her life but the night they spent together was the most memorable of his. Together they decide to go for the brass ring and wring every bit of happiness they can out of each day no matter how many or few they have together.

This book is essentially a few chapters long
Wyatt: I've got a heart condition and not sure I want to love, OK I will take a chance and go for it
Dee: I want to experience love and Wyatt is way better than Marcus and I will make every minute count with the man who may or may not die on me.
Marcus: My alcoholism has caught up with me, I made mistakes in a blackout. I am still hung up on Dee, but wait! My childhood friend Tara is grown up and looks pretty and is helping me.

The first two characters have very repetitive multiple chapters, saying the same things over and over again. Marcus is the only character I actually like, who has character growth.

Live for now because there might not be a later.

Wyatt & Dee have the laughter, the tears, the emotions, the inspiration, the satisfaction, being comfortable in each other’s company, the compromising, the positivity and all the love for however long it lasts. There’s emotional interference from Dee’s ex, but not for long. This story is very informative on medical issues and addiction. I can’t begin to tell you how much I loved this book, and the whole series so far. Never disappointed with a book from Marie Force.

See thought she’d never get her HEA after finding out her long term boyfriend has married someone else. Will she ? Won’t she? Then there is Wyatt, a wonderful man with what he believes and based on medical history an expiration date on the near horizon. Should they take a chance? Their journey is so wonderful and hopeful. It’s a great listen. Very credit worthy. Having listened to the series it was helpful while listening, but this can be listened to as a stand-alone. That aside, the entire series is terrific.

Beautiful and so sweet!

I loved reading Wyatt and Dee's love story. They are both wonderful, caring characters, so determined to fight for their happiness together, learning and trusting each other to overcome past heartbreaks and embracing all heartily the chance of a lifetime spent together. It is beautifully written, full of sweet moments and confessions showing how deeply they fell for each other. Plus it is always an added bonus to revisit Carmen and Maria and the whole family.
