I always dislike “the romantic rival appears!” storylines, and this one is no different. It’s just so unnecessary, especially when the main couple already are steadfast in their feelings for each other. Just not my favorite volume of this series so far.
This volume was filled mostly with Ran's insecurities. She's doubting herself, and she's doubting Akira's feelings for her too, in a way.
I didn't like that there's a new character that's kind of in the way between Ran and Akira, but at the same time I don't really hate Nanami? She's a nice girl, and although I understand why Ran felt what she felt, I do get Nanami as well. She obviously still likes Akira, but she tries not to feel that way. I do think she genuinely is okay with Akira being with Ran, but you know, feelings are hard to get rid of sometimes. At least she's not an annoying character who's trying to fight for Akira.
I also don't like how when their classmates found out that Ran and Akira is dating, they wanted to know the deets. Like how far their relationship went. Ran should just go at her own pace, she did not need to jump at Akira for the sake of proving her love for him.
It's a bit sad that this volume didn't have much Tomo-chan, Yamada and Yuya though. I have a feeling something's going to happen between Tomo-chan and Yamada, and I'm all in for it ♡♡♡
We are introduced to Ran parents and finally, her past is revealed to Akira. Even though she always was a brilliant student, she wasn’t always solitary as she was at the beginning of the series. She seemed to be the center of attention but eventually, people turned their backs on her. She ended up feeling lonely and never had someone to talk to, but she acted like everything was okay and never talk about it to anyone which made her depressed. I’m a tiny bit confused because after Ran’s dad said that something already happened to Ran because of a boy, I thought the said boy, which we learn later on is called Mochizuki, would be much more involved than he was. But I still loved learning about her background, even though it is a little bit cliché, Ran is one of my favorite shojo character and I was never annoyed by her which is surprising since cliché things tend to annoy me.
As usual, Akira is the cutest. Like the perfect MC, he showed that he wasn’t like other guys, he was seeing her like a normal girl and not like this perfect person that everyone seems to portray.
This volume started off strong, it was almost, almost perfect. Why, out of the blue, introduce another girl who, of course is in love with Akira in order to stir their relationship? Whyyyy?! And of course she knows Akira way before Ran met him and she, like her, knows he is the son of florists and she helped him at the shop. Ran thought she was the only that shared this kind of things with him and yet. That’s the kind of thing I hate so bad in manga. Nanami is actually the one going on my nerves, she is pointless, doesn’t add anything to the manga whatsoever, it creates more drama and tension for nothing.

I am late to the party with this series, but OH MY LORD I HOPE WE GET PHYSICAL PRINTS OF THIS ONE!!! Ran and Akira have such a pure relationship. Having it all center around flowers and their meaning just truly makes my heart swoon so much! This series has more dynamics than this pure relationship, but I truly enjoy it so much. I have a hard time forming my thoughts. Once I get them more sorted out, I will update this review.
This one was mostly internal dialogues about how Ran feels insecure in many ways. Which is normal and very high school but now there is also a romantic rival which feels unnecessary really. I feel like I’m not gonna love the next volume either cause of the love rival but we will see.
Ran sister is so adorable and considerate. Love the stand off between the Ran’s father and Akira. This scene makes me miss having a father around.
About Ran’s past, god kids are so mean sometimes. They didn't even try to get to know her. Ran only minded her own business but everyone decided to hate on her? Everything that Ran did is wrong in those jealousy girls eyes. Ran will be damned if she did and damned if she did not. Jealousy are ugly. I hope that loser guy gets to see a glimpse of how Ran is now. Surrounded by wonderfull friends and a boyfriend who loves her.
It's so weird how the rival love has more shoujo heroine vibes than the FL. In any other manga our FL would be the rival. I’m so nervous to read at this point please don’t have a misunderstanding or a drama because I’m going to pass away from anxiety.
I’m not trying to blame Nanami but she needs to get her stuff together if she really just sees Akira "as a friend". She keeps acting all guilty and sus like if you have nothing to be sorry for then don't act like it. I know it's not that easy to get rid of ur feelings but like you haven't seen him in 3 years and the first time you meet up again, he has a gf. That should've been a good wake up call for you.
