I never intended to be a Daddy. Well…not that kind anyway.
Fate had other plans, and this tantrum-throwing, heart-melting toddler is now mine to raise. As the CEO of a multinational hotel chain, I’m used to people taking orders from me, but that is not on her to-do list. No matter how much I love her, being a parent to Julia is not the joy and delight portrayed on social media. Then I hear his voice on the radio. Peyton Scott. I rejoice that someone out there gets it, and I will stop at nothing to have him under me. Professionally, naturally.
All right, it’s possible I can’t resist going further.
The terms of his employment are a little…unconventional. But if Peyton signs on the dotted line, I believe I can give him all the things he never knew he needed. He’ll help me learn how to be a better daddy to my little girl, and I’ll teach him how to be the best Little Boy for his Daddy.
I'm often stoically silent or, if the topic interests me, a chronic rambler. In other words, I can discuss writing forever and ever. Fiction, in particular. The love story—while a huge draw and constantly present—is secondary for me, because there's so much more to writing romance fiction than just making two (or more) people fall in love and have hot sex. There's a world to build, characters to develop, interests to create, and a topic or two to research thoroughly. Every book is a challenge for me, an opportunity to learn something new, and a puzzle to piece together. I want my characters to come to life, and the only way I know to do that is to give them substance—passions, history, goals, quirks, and strong opinions—and to let them evolve. Additionally, I want my men and women to be relatable. That means allowing room for everyday problems and, for lack of a better word, flaws. My characters will never be perfect.
Wait…this was supposed to be about me, not my writing.
I'm a writey person who loves to write. Always wanderlusting, twitterpating, kinking, and geeking. There's time for hockey and cupcakes, too. But mostly, I just love to write.
"Soon-to-be three-year-olds didn’t obey as well as submissive adults."
Running a corporate empire while single handedly raising a 3 year old demon spawn is no easy job. Clearly out of his depth, Edward Delamore takes a chance by hiring an inexperienced nanny.
Peyton spent many years raising his younger sister. After appearing on a radio segment to discuss his experience, he's baffled as to why someone would offer him a nanny position without qualifications. But for an exorbitant amount of money being offered, Peyton could be anything you wanted.
Edward has no intentions of hitting on his now assistant/nanny even if he is tempted. Capable of restraining himself, surely he can keep it together? Except when Peyton begins showing signs of interest, Edward dares to go there. Even if he must disclose his particular tastes…
I lifted my brows. "Are you implying that I’m old, Peyton?"
"No." He smiled sweetly, a little too sweetly. "You’re…seasoned?"
I huffed a chuckle, enjoying his firecracker attitude. I didn’t get to experience it often. At another time in my life, playful submissives had been my heroin.
Going out on a limb, Edward offers Peyton an arrangement. One that allows him to renege at any time. The kind that enables them to explore a new dynamic of kink and light BDSM. All he needs to do is 'Just Sign Here'. Oh, and Edward would prefer to be called daddy.
"This one would between you and me," I said. "A set of…requests, if you will. Rules."
"Rules," he stated quietly.
I smiled faintly. "I think you can guess I have some unconventional interests."
Cara Dee is utterly wicked. From her sense of humour that always peaks through, to the smoking foreplay and sex scenes she provides us; her stories are alive. Just Sign Here was outlandish, sweet and deliciously filthy. I highly recommend.
As I first read this, my primitive brain was like daddy kink me like me like, and I sort of glossed over all of the weirdness and flaws. I fell asleep halfway through reading and was in love with the story.
When I woke up with a clear head, my view... changed.
There are a few issues here. The weird sign here to consent to something you don't understand because SEXY wasn't great. I kept thinking about workplace laws, and my brain wouldn't let those details go. I'm a daddy kink aficionado, and I found the story to be underwhelming.
Quick and easy read with some hot scenes, but too impersonal and surface-level for me. Despite what my primal brain thinks...
I went into this book blindly and actually enjoyed it. Then I read my friends' reviews and thought, Well, damn, I need to be more critical! But, honestly, I can't make myself dislike this book, even though the negative reviews have merit.
Yes, the setup was somewhat unbelievable, and Julia was the most annoying child ever to appear in a work of fiction (she was an absolute brat from hell!). And, of course, we can't dismiss the power imbalance (Edward is Peyton's boss, with Peyton giving up his work, town, and entire life to be Edward's nanny and little boy).
But, hell, this story is fun and Sexy with a capital S. The Daddy Dom/little boy overtones are mild at best, but the sexual tension and release are glorious. I also loved the epilogue so, so much (Edward and Peyton are in love but still kinky AF).
Just Sign Here took too long, around 60% mark to shape into something good. Sadly, the other 40% wasn't good enough to make up for the first part of the story, which I felt was utterly soulless.
It pains me to say, but Cara Dee missed the mark here big time.💔
Unlike so many Cara Dee stories, Just Sign Here is pretty low angst!
I enjoyed the chemistry between Edward & Peyton, and the sexy-times were hot, just as I've come to expect from this author. I would not have minded a touch more struggle, though. Everything was pretty smooth and easy.
Some of you probably know how much I adore this author, but something didn't sit well with me this time...
It was told from the POV of Edward, who hired Payton to help him with his daughter and to become his assistant... with some benefits. Only it wasn't clear who would benefit more from what and I desperately needed to hear Peyton's voice in all of that.
All I saw was Edward pushing for intimacy (quite inappropriately), while Peyton kind of played along at the beginning and actively participated at the end - and then they were deeply in love. Fin.
And even if I totally appreciate some good background brought into a story (hotel business in this case), because I always want to see more than just some smut, here it was overwhelming to such a degree that I wanted to skip most of it.
Well... it won't discourage me from reading more by the author, so off I go.
I loved this story. Looking at the reviews, I see that there are some mixed feelings, but for me it was a perfect fit.
I've been in the mood for super low angst reads, and this one fits the bill. I also love office romances and age-gap. This one works for me because, despite being the heir of a multinational hotel chain, Edward is a total caregiver.
Edward isn't a stereotypical "millionaire boss." He is absolutely devoted to his daughter. He hasn't had a romantic relationship in YEARS. He is best friends with his staff, and has no social life. He is kind and sweet, with just the right dash of domineering to making him fascinating. He is sexually versatile, and doesn't spout any clichéd Dom nonsense. He feels human with nuances and shades of grey.
Yes, there are some uneven power dynamics between Edward and his personal assistant/nanny, but since the story is told through Edward's POV, the reader sees his absolute devotion and fondness for Peyton. It feels safe, supportive, and completely consensual. The Daddy/boy element is extremely mild, and feels loving, soft, and sweet.
This story isn't a typical slow-burn because it sizzles hot pretty early on, but it does have this mesmerizing slow build as Edward teases and tantalizes Peyton, pushing him out of his comfort zones. I also love that the relationship never falters, it just slowly grows stronger and more devoted as the story progresses. No big misunderstandings. No drama. Just playfulness, sexiness, and sweetness.
The characters in this story are extremely likable. The secondary characters are genuinely nice and kind, and even the little terror stole my heart. I want these people in my life! Just like Edward, I think I'm ready to buy a house in Camassia Cove! ;)
4.75 😍😍😍😍 Edward and Peyton are too cute 😍😍😍😍 Just sign here is a sweet story with many hot moments that make you melt 🔥🔥🔥 Edward is a rich businessman with a three years old daughter who is looking for a new personal assistent and a nanny. An interview on a radio show gonna be his salvation and so much more .... Edward is the main storyteller although there are a couple of Peyton notes. The chemestry between the two of them is unbelieveble, and the way they interact with each other made me grin like a maniac 😂😂😂 It's an easy-read with daddy kink, light D/s elements, passion, love and sweet family moments ❤︎❤︎❤︎
Not the amazing Cara Dee I'm used to. It felt too rushed, no real character or relationship development, no angst. If not for the last chapters I would classify this as erotica.
Also, I'm pretty sure I have read way kinkier by the author but this managed to squeek me out. Maybe because Payton and his daughter called him daddy at the same time. Maybe because he would start sexual stuff with his daughter on the same room.
While there are some parts I like, this is too businesslike for me. Peyton is Edward’s PA as well as his nanny and there is just so much talk about business that I feel like I’m working from just reading this book.
It doesn’t feel relaxed at all, and that’s what I’m looking for in a book right now. Not even the promised Daddy kink can make me continue.
I liked this sweet story of Edward and Peyton. It was light DD/lb (no diapers, thank God lol), I almost wouldn't really consider it kink. It was nice though how Edward got Peyton to open up and explore different things. He promised to take him on a journey, he did and it lead to their HEA.
That was the most adorable read ever! ALL the 5 +++ stars!
There are lovely stories and there are LOVELY stories, this one is the latter. That was funny as fuck. And extremely delicious. A story about Edward a multimillionaire who owned Westwater Vision hotels, he’s a delightful single parent of an almost-three-year-old little girl who was a monster now and then. He can’t seem to please her. When he hears a podcast with a guy talking about how he raised his sister, all Edward boxes are ticked. He has to have him.
Working for Edward as his PA and as a nanny for Julia is more than fun for Peyton. Edward is in awe how Peyton takes his duties. Peyton thinks Edward is a tease and is everything he wants in a Daddy, as in his Daddy. Edward wants Peyton on his knees in front of him, like always. He has an unconventional contract for Peyton, it’s up to him now. They start something exceptional, the sexual tension is immensely strong and amazing and arousing to watch. Edward wants Peyton but he has to come to him. He’s a love-sick romantic Daddy and that is the cutest thing ever!
It’s delicious, it’s fun and Edward and Peyton are just the most adorable guys. Edward loves it to be Julia’s daddy and he is ecstatic about Peyton calling him Daddy.
Magnificent scenery, arousing af. Two extremely lovable, funny guys. Original in every way, from all the stunning surroundings to all the sexy, lovely details. It was immensely lovable. All told from Edward’s pov and he is so adorable
I can’t find enough superlatives to describe this beautiful and delicious gem!
Uhm, how can I express how much I didn't like this book? They don't even know each other and are already so addicted to another, one work for the other in two different positions, that's a yucky factor right there, until 70% of the book you have no clue what they are hiding from the other, when you finally do, all is well and good in half a dozen pages... The kid was a brat. I really thought she had some problem or something, but no, she's just spoiled. I don't have kids but I have a sister and a brother so I raised kids in a way, I know that raising them isn't perfect but I can tell they let her get away with too much.
Pretty drab and underwhelming. The 3 year old was pretty much an afterthought in the story, seemingly switching between tantrums and baby talk, and then speaking as though she was much older. How the hell did Edward know from a radio interview and 1 meeting that Peyton would be happy being treated as his 'little boy'?? He didn't even know whether Peyton was gay [he was maybe on the fence].
I just don't get the DD/lb kink I'm afraid, although I suppose I should be grateful he didn't make Peyton wear nappies and suck a dummy *yuck, cringe*. I won't be buying any more of Cara's kink stories. Sorry.
Why do I keep forgetting how much I love Cara Dee? This was deliciously kinky. Cute as hell. Entertaining as can be. And definitely worth reading! If the idea of a foxy daddy overwhelmed by running a hotel empire and taking care of his bratty toddler, who ends up falling for his smart, empathetic PA/nanny rocks your boat, do check this out.
When Edward unexpectedly gets custody of the little girl he fathered, he knows he needs help. He tracks Peyton down after hearing him on the radio, and hired him to be a personal assistant/live in nanny.
What he gets is so much more. He picks up on Peyton’s submissive nature, and grooms him into his boy.
This was somewhat problematic, plot wise at least.
I’m not necessarily complaining about this. I just think certain things were not quite believable (the daddy kink didn’t really make sense in my opinion). Some things were downright annoying (the child for instance; I’m sorry but holy hell, she was something else). That Edward is Payton’s boss is itself rather problematic but then again what is fiction about if not to push boundaries?
I guess you could say that exactly those things made the story kind of interesting.
I don’t really know. I guess I can see why people are not big on this book.
Although there are parts that I like, unfortunately I cannot say that I like it very much. Work ethics people! Peyton agrees to start out as Edward's assistant by day and Julia's nanny by night, but since we read everything from Edward's point of view, Peyton seems to be forced into everything else!, which I don't like. No matter how sweet they were together.
Take nothing seriously. If you do that you can enjoy it for what it is, fantasy porn.
The whole waxed butt, Mom's house, visiting for a couple of days, toddler at the end of the bed sleeping scene skeeved me. Can you imagine the child, Daddy calls her Darling, rolling over, waking up and getting an eyeful. She'll scream Daddy! Daddy! In the meantime Peyton, the "boy" with the sore butt, will also be screaming Daddy! Daddy!
What's a poor Daddy to do? It's positively confusing. 🤨
First and foremost, I love books that have kids as characters and this one wasn't an exception. Julia was a little snarky two year old that need some corner time but I loved how banter with her Dad Edward. Age gap, Daddy Dom and Baby boy kinks are one of my favorites and I would love to see more from this couple.
Edward and Peyton find more than they ever imagined ! Edward is desperate for someone who can handle 2 1/2 yr. old Julia, because no one can handle her screams, tantrums and tears. Her Mom has died and he's raising her. Edward, 45, blue eyes, a silver fox, CEO millionaire in the Hotel business. He needs help, and finds Peyton. Peyton, 33, is a History teacher, has a podcast, works as a hotel manager, too, green eyes, dark hair, a swimmer's body, plus he raised his sis alone. Edward talks Peyton into giving him a year of big money, travel, being a PA, and also a Manny for Julia.
It's a super busy time, on the go constantly, and the men's in-person familiarity heightens their attraction. Edward proposes a deal for just the two of them, and Peyton accepts, so we see the men slowly getting intimate. Peyton will kneel at Edwards feet and receive a neck and head massage, plus let Edward dress him each day and more.
Meanwhile, we see the new, mostly well behaved Julia, the fun during the business trips, and the intense mental conflicts both men feel.
We like the diverse characters, the anticipation, explosive and sizzling sexiness, too. They are vers (both bottom and top) and are open and receptive to new sexy situations, such as Daddy/boy. They have a family unit that works and lots of hope for the future. A year will never be enough for our men, it's a forever deal now.
The big happiness grew from a quirky deal, and we get a marvelous epilogue 4-5 years later. Truly a fun read. ENJOY !
I really liked this one. I had put it off for ages because of very mixed reviews from friends and honestly, I think those poorer reviews helped me like it more.
Many of the friends who rated this poorly did so for the lack of genuine Daddy Kink, which I can totally see. This relationship doesn't have that Daddy dynamic of a caregiver and sometimes touches on ideas of Age Play but not with any consistency or depth. Maybe it was because I was prepared for this, but I was ok with this with Peyton and Edward.
I saw their relationship as more a kinky relationship with dominant and submissive overtures. There was the pet names of Daddy and Little boy which was hot! Edward did like to have control over things like how Peyton dressed etc, but at times these two were also just two men working it out as Dad's together.
Moving on from the kink, I really loved how there was no silly drama, these guys communicated and made things work together. Yes there were some serious workplace boundaries being crossed, but I lived in the fiction of the moment and enjoyed Edward's 'suggestions' as hot as fuck relationship progression, rather than sexual harrassment.
And of course the sex scenes were drool worthy! Topping from the bottom! Hell yes!
I really don't know where to start... there were many things right with this story and not really anything wrong with this story... but, there were things missing from this story!
Like, for instance, conversations! Edward and Peyton talked and talked and talked... but they never seemed to discuss the important issues. It was like everything was just "assumed" which never turns out well in real life... grrr
I did like the story, but as I said, it just felt like it was constantly missing something! *headdesk* :(
Talk about whirlwind romance! There was so much jet-setting that it masks how this took place in just a couple of months. There’s an inherent power dynamic even without the kink because its an employer/employee relationship. Some people will absolutely be squicked out by this and find it unreadable. Others will be disappointed its not like her “dark erotica” stuff.
But I liked it??? It was endearing somehow if you focus on the fantasy and ignore trying to figure out how the business worked and everyone’s job (Peyton is a PA/Super-nanny? Idk what his actual role is tbh). Positively vanilla by Cara Dee standards.
Like, it was underdeveloped and so fast and Cara Dee doesnt know how to write kids.
But I still liked it?? Edward was kind of hilarious and such a sweet sarcastic cinnamon roll for a Daddy, and he eschews so many dumb hyper-masculine “Dom” stereotypes. They were super likable and worked well together. That’s all I want from a romance novel, why is it so hard to find in fiction?!!
