The Badds are actually the royal family of Torino. Maverick Badd, Thorne's father, abdicated the throne via threat of death, took the name Badd, and created a wealthy criminal empire in the process. Thorne knows exactly who he is, an exiled prince, and couldn't care less. He's irreverent and carefree. He just couldn't care less. But that's all a facade because deep down he just wants his father's approval and respect and he would do anything for his family, including agreeing to an arranged marriage to the daughter of their enemy.

What I liked:
✔ Thorne. Despite the fact that he was pretty irresponsible and immature at times, he turned out to be full of heart. It was surprising and made him extremely likeable. And when he found a purpose, he was all in, even if it started out as a task to protect his family.
✔ The sex. Thorne was so freaking hot!!
✔ The relationships between the Badds. I didn't know going into this that it was the third book in the series so there were ties that existed between the characters that I didn't get to witness, but it only feeds my curiosity to read the previous books.
✔ The OTT antics of the Valentine family. They were so ridiculous and I found them hilarious, not scary.

What I didn't like:
✘ Nova drove me nuts. I didn't not like her, but some of her ways turned me off. She was a bit too nosy for my taste. She didn't know Thorne like that. Not really. However, whenever he was upset or went off on his own, she put herself in his way, like she knew how to handle him. She always wanted to know what he was thinking, who he was talking to, where he was going, etc. None of your business! I also couldn't stand the fact that she knew the truth of her family and went along with their machinations willingly! I get that she felt she owed them huge, but c'mon!
✘ The story dragged in parts and became repetitive. I think this story could have had fewer pages if it didn't keep repeating the same things or allowing for unnecessary events and conversations.

Royally Arranged was sexy, it was silly, and it was definitely romantic. Overall, it was an enjoyable read. Just because it wasn't a complete winner for me doesn't mean it wouldn't be a winner for you.

Book three in this series brings us some answers as we finally discover exactly why patriarch, Maverick Badd fled his homeland whilst bringing us his middle child, Hawthorne’s romance. And you’re familiar with the series—which I’d recommend you be if you’re planning on reading this—you’ll know that the Badd’s are literally royalty.

description All I was ever good at was being the funny one. I’m definitely a damn joke.”

Alpha and with a sense of not being good enough from his position in the family as the middle child, Hawthorne soon proves that not to be the case at all when they need him to step up to the mark. And he does so with gusto.

description …that little metal band was a constant reminder that I was connected to her.”

Nova Valentine is the exception in her family, to a degree she fades into the background treated as their doormat, yet when she’s away from them she’s a different person. Her marriage may be out of convenience rather than love, but the chemistry between herself and Thorne is clear for anyone to see and not only do they steam up the pages, they bring out the best in one another.

description I don’t know how it’s possible to forget the face of the woman who’d own my heart someday.”

This family have grown on me as the series has progressed and with an air of Romeo and Juliet, Royally Arranged brings a hot and sexy conclusion for a couple who deserve a HEA.

description Family is worth more than wealth or power.”

Royally Arranged was a struggle to finish, it felt as if I had picked up a novel and started reading it half way through. I didn’t feel as if there was enough backstory given for readers to really feel the depth of the divide between the two families. Nova and Thorne had a troubled relationship from the start, the families divided, taking over royal duties, brawling in cemeteries. The plot held many twist and turns, at times it was a little confusing. It was missing the little extra details that could have made it more realistic, not the royal family but details about the city, the palace, the surroundings within the novel. It was not a bad novel, nor would I say a waste of time to read, it was just not to my liking and felt a little flat for me. I do not think I would recommend this novel to many people, it simply just needed more for me to be able to pass along to fellow readers.

Somehow didn't know that I NEVER finished this series until a couple of days ago? What the what. What is happening? Is 2020 real anymore?

Royally Arranged was a cute and fluffy book. Not sure if it was better than the previous book but it was a lot better than the first one. In it, we finally get to see Thorne fall in love. Again, it was adorable and just made me smile. Somehow Thorne was likable to me because if he didn't have a great personality, he would've annoyed the crap out of me. I mean the guy was completely irresponsible and immature.. but I just waited and sipped my wine for the love of his life to knock him off his feet.

Boy did that happen. Also, the chemistry and all that jazz was AMAZING. I just wished, oh I wished, that I liked Nova as much as I liked Thorne. It's weird because I loved her family but she just rubbed me the wrong way sometimes. Like at one point I just wanted to yell at her to mind her own damn business. Hot damn - live your own life girl and stop asking all these damn questions.

In the end, it was cute and I'm glad that I finished this series!

Il-principe-bugiardo-Nora-Flite

Buongiorno lettori!

«E come potrei?

This was such a pleasant read. Not too serious, but enough to keep my interest and keep it all interest. The characters were an absolute delight.

Both Thorne and Nova were great characters with an incredible connection and so many similarities in both their lives. The chemistry they shared was off the charts and nearly intoxicating for me, as the reader.

As Thorne and Nova confront their attraction to each other and their new duties to their families, the both have to come to terms whether they can accept their connection is real or just acceptance of their situation.

Nora Flite has done a great job of bringing life to a fictional family with connections to both the criminal underground and a blood line of royalty. The mix of the two makes things quite interesting and I’ve enjoy the different paths each of the Badd children have traveled. Thorne was the quieter of the male children but also the funnier, more vulnerable of the bunch. He may not have stood in the forefront during the previous books, but he most definitely left a lasting impression.

4 Star Review Royally Arranged (Bad Boy Royals #3) by Nora Flite

Nora Flite is a new author to me.

I had no idea going in that this was book three in a series. Although it can be read as a stand alone I feel sure I would have enjoyed it more if I knew some background and history to the series as I was a little lost at times.

Even though their marriage is arranged for them, there was certainly some sizzling scenes between Thorne and Nova and the chemistry between them was obvious. It was interesting to watch their relationship develop; I liked Thorne and Nova separately and together.

I felt at times that the story dragged, but then that is probably just my opinion.

There was definitely romance within this story and it did not feel forced. Will Thorne and Nova learn to trust each other? Or will those you plot to betray them, destroy their relationship before it can solidify? You’ll have to one click and find out.

Thorn is the fun-loving brother. He has taken the responsibility of the strip club and is the womanizer. He is pretty much not expected to do much when it comes to the family business and he knows this. He is third in line and gets to enjoy life. But when his uncle passes away in the country that his father is from Thorn finds out that he is now needed to step up and become King.

Nova is the daughter of the rival family the Valentine's. But she is NOTHING like them. Nova is sweet and to a point innocent. But she does have the hots for Thorn. She hopes that if Thorn picks her to be his bride that he will fall in love with her as she is falling for him.

I enjoyed this story and seeing everyone again. The twist and turns will keep you guessing.

I feel like such a traitor to the royal family. At first Kain was all I could think about...but then Costello stole my heart. Now, well, now I have to say the at Thorne is truly my Prince Charming.

Sarcastic, witty, and always seemingly relaxed, Thorne has us all fooled. It breaks my heart to learn why Thorne plays his role as the "lazy" Badd. It also warms it to know that a certain mousey wallflower makes everything better.

If you love the Badds, it only gets better with Thorne's story. If you are new to the Badd way of life, hold on because they sure do know how to make a scene. Royally epic kind of scene!

This is my first book by this author and I didn’t realize that it’s the third book in the series. It took me a couple of days to get through this one, I kept putting it down. There were parts that dragged on and it started off a little slow. I did finally finish it but sadly, it didn’t blow me away.

This book has some of my favorite tropes: royal romance, arranged marriage and a tattooed bad boy for our male lead!

Hawthorne “Thorne” is a royal bad boy, that I really liked! His father supposed to rule but he abandoned the crown and now it’s his responsibility to rule, since his the only one that’s unmarried. He has a commanding presence and I liked how it compliments his character and the whole story.

When we first meet Nova, she comes out shy and a little closed off. Her family controls the Boston Mafia underworld and they want their hands on the throne somehow. That’s where Nova comes; they want her to marry Thorne and become the Queen. Now, 6 months later, they meet again and she’s more confident than before. A life-threatening situation helped her understand that she needed to change and believe more to herself, and that’s exactly what she did.

There’s bad blood between their families, a fact that makes their first interactions difficult. However, day by day they get to know each other and feelings are beginning to develop.

I loved the mystery, the suspense and how all the difficulties they faced made their relationship what it ended to be! The ending is the best for the book and I wanted more!!

If you were enchanted by the wedding of Meghan Markle and Prince Harry and you’ve picked this up looking for an authentic-style royal romance, forget it. There is nothing remotely resembling royal protocol in this book. Thorne’s father renounced his claim to the throne of ‘Torino’ where apparently the locals speak French, despite the Italian name - and left for the US. Now his brother is dead and there is no other heir, so… his middle son has to take the throne? Due to some complicated ‘inheritance laws’ that were never really defined, but apparently meant the incoming king has to be unmarried.

So far, so fantastical. However, things get even more complicated, because Thorne’s family are very big businesspeople in Boston, Mafia-connected through his mother, and currently feuding with the Valentine family, of whom Torino’s former queen is a member. So Thorne has to marry one of the Valentine daughters, and chooses Nova, who is basically ‘the quiet one’ in a family of crooks. Somehow she got to the age of twenty-seven without even having been kissed, and yet on their - I think it’s third? - meeting, Thorne is doing her up against a tree in the royal cemetery.

There is lots of sex in this one, and it’s probably the best part of the book, being well-written, realistic and hot. Everything else is just unbelievable when it’s not downright wrong, the worst example of this being Nova having a mysterious scar on her lower stomach which turns out to be from a kidney transplant.

Let me repeat that. A KIDNEY transplant leaving a scar on the STOMACH? Not unless Nova is an alien with some very different internal organ layout to humans. Kidneys are at the BACK of the body and a transplant would leave a scar on one side of your lower BACK. Someone who has suffered chronic kidney failure like Nova (and the donor, who is also in this book and obviously left with one kidney) would not be able to drink alcohol, either, and the champagne, wine and cocktails being swigged back by all and sundry don’t exclude these two.

I can tolerate a lot in a romance which is clearly a fantasy in the author’s head, but wildly inaccurate medical information isn’t one of those things. It tipped this book over the line from ‘entertaining nonsense’ to ‘utter rubbish’, and there’s really no coming back from that. Two stars.

This is the first book I have read by this author and unfortunately I didn’t realise it was the third in a series so this might have affected my enjoyment of Royally Arranged especially when prior events are mentioned and it’s clear that the other couples in the book obviously got together in the previous books. In Royally Arranged Hawthorne Badd, a middle son, is told by his father that, as a result of the death of his estranged uncle, he’s to become the next king of Torino and, to protect his family from possible retribution, he has to marry Nova, the eldest daughter of their arch enemy Kurt Valentine and produce an heir as soon as possible. Now the Badds are supposed to be the heads of this big criminal empire back in the USA so part of me wondered why they gave into such blatant blackmail so easily especially when the Valentines were so ludicrously over the top I almost expected to read a line about them twirling their moustaches as the laughed evilly. The chemistry between Thorne and Nova was hot and they were both obviously the best out of their respective families but they both came across as weak especially when neither of them would stand up for themselves. They did seem stronger as a couple so maybe there’s hope for them.

I did enjoy this book but I think I would’ve given it a higher rating if I’d read the first 2 books first.

So I’m normally the first to say that I have a major weakness for Royal romances, but this one disappointed me a lot! Could I tell you where the fictional country is? No. Could I even understand the rules in this country? No. But the biggest one was- could I even understand the reason for the plot line? No. The only thing I liked were the characters.
.
Our hero is the son of a mobster and he himself is also one. Our heroine is daughter of the rivalling family, and has the major hits for the hero. Here’s where it starts to get weird- the hero’s father is actually in line to a throne now that his brother has died. But the other mob family wants their daughter on the throne so gets the hero to take the crown instead (HOW?!).
.
Arranged marriage is my jam and I liked that aspect of the story but everything else MADE NO SENSE AT ALL! You can’t just decide who is going to take the crown out of a pick of kids- he wasn’t even the first or second born! So mainly this just drove me insane for the entirety of the book.

Another great book written by Nora Flite. I really fell in love with this book. I was hooked from the very beginning. Thorne and Nova might not have a choice of the plans their family have arraigned for them but they do have a say how they will live their lives. Thorne might think that he was a failure and that he is a disappointment to his family and everyone but he cannot be more wrong. He has a kind heart and is the first one to make a joke to ease the tension and say what no one is willing to say out loud. Nova is such a nice, kind hearted person and is the perfect other half for Thorne. She does not deserve the family she got stuck with but the family she gained with the Badd’s more than makes up for it. A must read!!!!

I enjoyed this book very much. It's book three in the series and finally gives us some answers about the Badd's background. Turns out Maverick Badd was heir apparent to the crown in Torino. Family strife caused him to flee his beloved homeland and the crown and forming a new life in the US. Now Maverick's brother, the current King, has passed away. Next in line for the throne? One of the wild Badd siblings! Let the fun begin.

This story is fun, sexy, and completely entertaining. The writing and characters are well done and developed. I definitely recommend it.

Great book. This is the story of Thorne and Nova. These two families have been enemies for a very long time, but things might be fixing to change. Thorne's uncle The King has recently passed and it is up to him to fill his shoes. He can choose between Nova or her sister and he chooses Nova. They have some fire between them, a kiss here a kiss there and Thorne cannot control himself. Can he make a great King and make the country whole again or is he going to fail for him and Nova?

I really enjoy royal romances and this one was no exception. Thorne is not your typical heir to the throne. He is a bit wild. Nova is beautiful and oh so sweet. Thorne falls hard and no one is more surprised than him. Can they survive the machinations of those who want them to fail or will love prevail?

Thorne and Nova come from feuding families and have never seen each other as anything other than that. So when Thorne finds out that he is to marry Nova in order to secure his family's legacy it shouldn't sound like such a good idea. But the more time Thorne spends with Nova the more he realizes that he could fall for this woman, fake marriage or not.

RECENSIONE TRIPLA:

Ci mancava Thorne all’appello, e la partner scelta dall’autrice?

«E come potrei?

Per me è no.

LOVED this book! This is my favorite book in the series (and the first two were awesome). I loved learning more about Hawthorne and his difficult relationship with his father. Nova is also an interesting character as the Valentine that just doesn't seem to belong. Even better, was learning the story behind the hidden princes. I thoroughly enjoyed their story.

If you love sexy romance with a side of dirty, you will love this book. The author is a master story-teller and makes her characters come alive from the page. She is on my must read authors' list.

***I received an e-copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. Thank you to the author, publisher and NetGalley.***

2.5 stars

A lot of little things bugged me in Royally Arranged, by Nora Flite. Firstly, I didn’t realize when I requested the book on NetGalley that it was the third of a series. Even so, I think it could be read alone as long as you don’t mind that you won’t be familiar with some of the other characters that are referenced.

To simplify the story, the Badds are royalty in hiding, archenemies of the Valentines. Upon the death of the king, both families make a move to take the throne. The families broker a deal and agree to an arranged marriage between Thorne Badd and Nova Valentine. This story is about them getting to know one another, falling in love with each other and the country of Torino, and about figuring out who they can trust, especially each other.

I did not connect with the writing in this book. The author used more description than I care for, and in ways that didn’t make sense to me. For instance, Thorne describing the colour or style of his clothing seemed odd; it’s something a female character would do. The author might describe the surroundings of the party to set the scene, but then not detail the whole of the party’s events. I just prefer minimum description. I also found a lot of the Thorne’s romantic dialogue cheesy, which is especially odd when I found him to be conceited and overbearing at other times. He just didn’t seem like the sort of man to use lines like “I was full from eating her with my eyes. I barely tasted my food when it arrived.” (76%) The author regularly relied on overstatements to demonstrates the characters degree of emotion. After a while, it loses its punch and starts to make a character seem out of control or unbalanced.

I liked Thorne and Nova well enough, and I did like them together. I believed they had genuine feelings for one another. I think the problem for me was that I was floored when I read they were 26. It seemed they were more like 16 than 26. Nova was naïve at times, though other times she was very mature. Thorne regularly used humour to deflect, but often times it made him sound like a spoiled, mouthy brat, and certainly didn’t make him sound royal.

That leads me to a major hang-up for me: these characters did not feel royal. There was very little of the traditional royal feeling I’ve previously read or seen. I’ve come to expect that and the lack of it threw me. Save for Thorne’s father, all of the characters including Thorne and Nova seemed like regular people. That feeling is multiplied by the mobster-mafia-crime backgrounds of both families. Even many of the supporting characters didn’t treat them like royals. At 56%, no maid would speak to the king that way, and at 57 %, no guard, even one who was a childhood friend of Thorne’s father, would touch the king as Glen did. Maybe it’s on me for expecting something other than what I was given. I just think the summary doesn’t accurately represent the characters.

There were numerous little (yes probably, possibly nit-picky) things that bothered me. At 57% Thorne talks of his relationship with Nova being unable to move from feeling arranged to real because of something unnamed between them. I’m not sure I/we ever figured out what he was referring to, and I didn’t see the point of adding doubt to what was feeling authentic. Why didn’t they share a room after they were married? (77%) They were young and hot for one another, and very non-traditional to boot, so why wouldn’t they? The baby plot was predictable. I knew it would happen during the cemetery scene (28%) Why didn’t Thorne’s phone have a screen lock? I mean, he is the king. The worse offender of all for me was the betrayal plot. Even the fact that Nora was naïve at times bugged me. How could she have grown up in a crime family, with people willing to hurt others for their own gain, and not be a little street smart? Like I said, these were my hang-ups, but they did keep me from connecting more fully to the story.

At the end of the day, the romance part of this book was genuine and believable despite the cheesy lines. The set-up and characters were not quite as believable for me. I couldn’t quite reconcile the mafia princess or the strip club prince. I also didn’t connect to the writing that well.
