Lily Franklin and Brock Rollins are the textbook definition of opposites attract. She’s a wealthy socialite. He’s a dirty-talking detective from Brooklyn. Lily always dates the right men, follows her parents’ wishes, and stays out of trouble. But when the sparks fly between Lily and the rough-and-tumble Brock, she can’t resist a too-hot-to-handle night with him. Even if she is playing with fire.
Brock’s not the type of man to commit to one woman, but he is determined to make Lily his for a night. Convincing her to go home with him should’ve been the hard part—not leaving before he breaks her heart. When Brock responds to a robbery in Manhattan late one night, he never expects to rush to Lily’s side. But is he too late to save her—and to make her his?
MAKE ME YOURS, a standalone novel, is book 1 in the Line of Duty series.
I have to admit, I never warmed up to the over the top alpha male, Brock. He was so fill of himself and his dirty sexual innuendos were a turn off. Lily described him perfectly, as “domineering and arrogant. Brash. Forward.” I could understand their curiosity in each other, as opposites do attract. I wish the author would have spent less time repeating each characters’ thoughts on the disastrous one-night stand, and forced some on Brock and Lily as a couple. The book should have included a “meeting the family over brunch” scene. Now that would have been entertaining.
This story... well. It had lots of potencial. Maybe after a re edition it would be a lot better. I spent way to much time reading it 'cause every time they mentioned a time frame I would feel totally frustrated. At some point I didn't know anymore if it had passed a week or a day. Truly confusing. Some typos and errors didn't help either. I'm still gonna read the second book, but... I'm not hopping for something better than this one.
This book was a struggle to get through at times. There were words missing in some sentences. Some spelling errors or wrong word usage. The story just didn't capture me like Ms. Jameisons other books have. The story had a lot of potential but ultimately fell short. I hope the rest of the series is better.
An exciting start to a new series. Brock Rawlins has finally met his match and I could not be happier for him. At least Brent would not have to give any more weird explanations about lost and found underwear.🤔⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
