This is going to be a harsh review but I hope the author uses these reviews to improve upon as a writer. I've invested my time in this series as well as my money and with each review I've been very honest. I began this series because the premise was of interest to me. I loved the first book and rated it as such--grammatical errors and all. The second book was a travesty filled with violence, sadness and death. It was extremely depressing and certainly not what I had expected from a series about a bunch of rockers. Noah's character was destroyed. In the novella, I saw a glimpse of hope that Melanie Walker was trying to right the ship and fix this story. I dove into Cal and Tayla's book because the story was good. I enjoyed it and loved the addition of Axe, however I wish we got to see how far his development progressed. At the end when the words "my name is Jenny Pope" were uttered I immediately stopped reading and moved the book to the "read books" folder. I couldn't read another word. I hated this character and can't imagine why she would be the love interest for Noah in his book. She slept with every member of the band and had a kid with one of them. She's PWT and not what his character needs for his recovery. I unfortunately can't continue with this series because it's just too poorly written. Authors should write from their hearts but be cognizant of what their readers want. My last comment is that whether it be beta readers or spellcheck, there has to be someone looking at the draft before the book goes live. You dress "chic" not "sheik" and a diamond is measured in "karats" not "carrots". This is an honest review.

Wowzer!

This was a well thought out and written story by the author. I wondered often about what Cal's deal was and it was very good. Even the stubborn can fall! I loved their love story and surprise twists.

I'm sorry for the low rating, the story line was okay but the editing wasn't (although it was better than the last one), although Cal throughout the book looks to prove to Tay his commitment to her, he still enjoys going to strip clubs despite knowing how his wandering ways hurt Tay in the past and I'm just not okay with that, call me stuck up but that's my view and I just can't get over the fact that Candey died and I hate that Noah will in future be paired up with Jenny, I hate her and I just don't understand why candey had to be killed off (in the last book).

Also I hated the fact that there was constant drama, like flying in from everywhere rather than developing thoroughly one issue. Like Sam, his role and his past was touched upon but not developed. Or the Jenny visiting the kid issue turned into a fight between the girls (Roni, Sass, Carrie and Tay) and the fight turning into something which wasn't even about the issue anymore, without really touching on how Jenny is during her visits.

Spoilers, don’t complain if you read it and it’s spoiled, I’m telling you now!

Cal is a cheating fucking scumbag. And then a baby with a groupie and Taylah forgives him. She actually has to give the skank, who fucked everyone in the band, backstage passes to fuck Cal. Yup. POS. Not to mention after Their friends wedding he makes love to Taylah and kisses her then drops her and throws her away and tells her how he has been with all these girls for days and one is coming up after she leaves. Then we get to hear about the sex with the slut who shows at his door when Taylah leaves broken. Who the fuck forgives this bullshit. Doormat. Frigging doormat. There is no love that makes you do that to the woman you claim to have loved for years. No way. She is weak and just overlooked it all. Damn, I hated when he made her feel like she was wrong to not trust him. Ugh He promises it’s only her and they are engaged. Yup. :/

As the 4th book in the rocker bad boy romance series "Release Me" certainly holds strong. Each book details the life of the band members and the women who surround them. With tattooed bad boys you will love in book 1 and ones you can't live without by book 4. Love, loss and rock and roll. Book 4 details the current life of Cal Dorian, lead guitarist for the band Thick as Thieves. Cal is going to get some heart stopping news and either turn it around or lose it all. Cal, Noah, Chad, Shame and Sam..... and all there girls.....amazing!

I received an arc for an honest review... *MAJOR SPOILERS*
I had the opportunity to beta read release me.... Melanie is one of my favorite authors her work is deep, real and extremely emotional I have bawled like a baby in everyone of her books.. That being said here goes my review...
*SPOILERS*
the story starts off with an absolute life changer.... Yep 3% in you already want to strangle someone...this is where you meet Axe....and fall in love with cal. This changes his course for everything cal has been planning to get tayla back.... I absolutely adored cal in this book, the last 3 books I wished someone would just slap him upside the head, so emotionless and quite frankly an asshat! We all new how he actually felt but the way he handled anything to do with emotions floored me. Now...in release me we actually see cal, we see what he's capable of... And that he is capable of loving not only tayla but his friends, and his family...even his enemy....in the form of jenny pope...

Cal tries about everything to show tayla he is the man for her, to show her he has changed, ugggg tayla made me quite mad though...messing with cals head, and refusing to see what's in front of her to open up.. But cal....omg...cal, in all his badassness reels her in, seeing the way he is with axe and how axe came to be destroys me, the way Melanie writes....she has me hanging on every word...and in the end....instead of tayla throwing massive tantrums....surely something I would have done in her situation.... She takes charge and shows what an amazing person she is......

Now onto Noahs role in this story......poor, poor Noah.....Noah has so much wisdom, while he fixes everyone else...he just can't fix himself....he's hit rock bottom..... And now I'm angry.. Lol...
I can't wait for Noah's story.... And I hope you all love this book as much as I did... This book has so much depth and feeling.... I'm kinda left feeling excitement and anger for what's to come!!!

Let me start off by saying that I love this series, but this book really disappointed me. If you read the other books in this series you know Cal was an asshole but you couldn't help but love him. As for Tayla I liked her in the previous books, but in this one I couldn't stand her. As Carrie said, "She needed to get off of her high horse". Cal was doing everything he could to make amends for all he had done and Tayla was being a major bitch about it. She wouldn't let Cal explain himself, she would just run away.
I really wonder at who proof reads books. At one point it said that Axe was clinging to Cal's leg and he picked him up. The two sentences later Cal picks him up again when he hadn't put him down, or if he did it wasn't stated in the book.
I would still recommend reading it because in the end it still brought me to tears with Noah. Although I am not sure I am happy with the direction it looks like Noah's story is headed. I would rather he fell in love with someone else instead of who it appears it will be.

WOW

WOW....just wow! This book was awesome I felt every emotion while reading this. For most of half the book I wanted to string Cal up and shake him! I felt for Tayla. She spent so much time loving and being pushed away that she got tired and had trouble believing. I don't think any woman would have felt differently or handled things differently because if they say they would have they would be lying. I don't want to give any spoilers away so I am going to say that this series is awesome! It goes into so much depth and feelings....but also family and love that you can't stop reading! I can't wait for Noah's book and I am hoping Dam finds love too because he sure deserves it! Great job!!

So worth the wait

Well I thought this was Noah's story and he is in there quite a bit. But Tay and Cal are the main attraction. This whole series has been just so gritty and real and had me all wrapped up seeing what was to come. There were lots of editing issues, sort of an auto correct gone wild. They did not deter me from reading or loving this story. Is there anything left to tell? Is TAT , Thick As Theives, finally finished ? Only the author knows for sure.

I'm totally in love with this series and Melanie didn't disappoint with this one . It was nice to see that Cal had a softer side and was willing to fight for the love of his life . I do have to say Tayla kinda pissed me off always being totally bitchy with Cal . She had known how he was for years . I also got some of my Noah and what is happening with him . I'm so looking forward to the next one .

This is a good series

I have enjoyed the earlier books in this series and was excited to read Cal's story. He background is not like the other guys, no abuse, no bad stories. He was raised in a loving home but he doesn't want to settle down. tayla has been in love with him so long now and believes he will never commit. They hit some obstacles and you will have to sit back read the book and enjoy the ride.

I love the characters in this series, even when they are being childish and annoying. They are so well thought through that you become really invested in them. However, I have to comment on the editing of this book, it really let it down and I'm struggling to believe that it was proof read, as there were some really annoying grammatical errors - fourth book in, this should not be happening. Still a 4 star read for me.

I am a TAT fan

Although the editing was rough, I cannot deny the content. This is an amazing series with a group of friends, no scratch that, a family who pull together no matter what tragedy they see.

So I never write reviews but I️ just can’t not! l was so happy to see Cal and Tay finally get their happy ever after! See Cal put down his fears, step up be a man and claim Tay! So I’m coming off my high of Cal and Tay when I️ see that there are two more books! Yaayy! I’m that weird person that if I start a series even if I️ don’t really like the first book I️ have to complete the series! I️ have to know what happens next. So I️m looking at the next two books reading the reviews and see that apparently in the Noahs book Tay starts acting weird, by the final book she’s cheated and left Cal!!! What in the actual heck!?! This is a girl that stayed by his side for 3 YEARS because she loved him so much even while he was messing around! Took the scraps he threw at her because she felt that a piece of him was better than nothing! I️ mean let’s be real I would have dropped him in like 2.5 sec who puts up with that crap! Apparently her because she can’t live without him. So she suffers all that pain, finally gets what she’s wanted for so long and is like oh I️ found some one else... I call bull crap!! So after the perfect ending of release me where Cal literally becomes EVERYTHING that she says she wants, she later decides that’s not enough. So for the first time EVER I’m not finishing a series. Which kills me because I️ want sooo bad to hear Noah’s story. But my heart can’t take that for Cal and Tay. I’ve decided instead to finish the series in my head lol! So my version goes like this Tay and Cal have their HEA raising little ash and more babies. Noah ends up with Jenny. They hold each other accountable to be strong and clean. They share in the raising of Ash with Tay and Cal and everyone is one big happy family! The end lol

I read this book through Kindle Unlimited. This is the 4th book in the series counting the Novella as number 3. This is Cal and Tay's story and it is told in alternating pov's.

Cal and Tay the bands manager have been having a 3 year on and off affair. They have kept this quiet so it doesn't affect the band but Tay has slowly fallen in love with him. Cal has made it perfectly clear that he "isn't the guy" for her and never will be and continues to sleep around until he falls and falls hard. By then it is to late and the damage has been done. This is his story of winning her back, becoming a father and trying to save his best friend Noah who is totally lost after Candeys death.

All the TAT members are a part of the story so we are brought up to date on their lives and their involvement in helping Cal win her back. The book ends on Noah finally hitting rock bottom and accepting that he needs rehab for his heroine addiction. This is setting up for the next book that will be Noah's story.

I used all my tissues on this book crying lol!

I originally read 1-3 of this series in 2014 and once I realized there were additional books I bought the other 4 and reread from start to finish. I cried back in 2014 and again in 2019. Although the series is about tough subjects it is written so well that you feel the characters pain and cheer them on as they fight to get through it. This series is also about perseverance and making your own family. I am addicted to Melanie Walker’s books and recommend you read every one she has written!

I almost lost this book in my never ending TBR pile. I was happy to see Cal and Tay's story and felt like it had the great mix of pain and love I've come to expect from this series. I think I've figured out Noah's love interest from the next book, but I hope I'm wrong because I am not happy with this chick. Again, I wish someone would have proofed this writing so it wasn't distracting me from the story.

**WARNING: MAY CONTAIN SPOILERS**

Even though I struggled to get through this one. It was still awesome, but just loaded with drama, drama, drama!!!!

I'm so happy that Tay and Cal got their HEA!!! Eventufuckingly!!!!!

There were a lot of times in this book that I went all aaawwwweeee and soft and mushy. But there were a lot of times I was seriously frustrated and wanted to butt people's heads together... clearly the reason why I took so long to get through the book, cause I was constantly conflicted!!!!

I would have loved to know more about Axe's and how his doctor's visit went and why the poor child's head is misshaped!!!

I sooo hated Jenny Pope when we just meet her and I truely wanted to keep hating her but then Tay goes on a rant to Cass and I just can't hate her anymore... In saying that, I wish her all the happiness in the world and hope she gets her own book.. BUT... there is a BIG BUT... I DO NOT WANT HER TO END UP WITH NOAH!!!! Hell Fucking No!!!! She can end up with Sam or something but not poor Noah...

Anyone know when the next book is out and how many books Melanie will release in this series???? I'm slightly addicted... think I need to go to a meeting with Noah!! LOL!!!

Cal and Tayla's story

This sort of continues from the end of Save Me. Cal and Tayla's have been fooling around for 3 years. They love each other, but Cal decides he can't be with her because of the band so he breaks her heart. Then realizes he made a mistake and on the day he is going to go claim her he gets a life changing surprise. A 2 year old son he knew nothing about.

As Cal deals with trying to do the best for his son and reconnect with Tayla things do not go well. She does not trust him with her feelings and is very reluctant to let him in. In many ways she is ridiculous and sometimes you just want to shake her to make her be reasonable. They eventually work things out.

At the end of the book Noah hits rock bottom and finally goes to detox. Not sure if this is a prelude to a next book about Noah but I hope so. His story is unfinished, and if anyone deserves a happy ending it is him.

I have always loved Cal and now I got his book with his story and wow what a fucking story he got. First of let me say that Tay is one hard person to like and im happy they got their shit at the end with their happily ever but she just rubs the wrong way so many times throughout the book that I just wanted Cal to send her to fuck herself. I understand that he was a shithole but she put up with it for the last 3 years and now that tragedy opened his eyes on top of a new addition being brought into the picture he wanted love and he wanted her as he always did but was too scared to get into. These are my badasses TAT guys and I love each of them fully and I have to say that I truly love my Noah and the ending (epilogue) was not what I expected and all I have to say is that he better not have his book with that shithead of Jenny - I seriously do not want him with her but Melanie always surprises us so lets wait and see.

Ahhhhhh Cal e Tayla make me want to punch them really bad ;)) they make me crazy ahhahaha ; before they want each other and then she hates him for what he does all the time and he begins to demonstrate her that he's really sorry for all !
Then ... Then Cal's son appears and he's the cutest child ever ! He divides himself between his son and the love of his life and I just can't resist to him and so can't Tayla *_*

I'm so , so sorry for Noah and his fiancée , but I'm so proud of Cal and what he told to Noah , one of his best friends because he makes him understand that he has to live again !

5 stars , btw ⭐️
