Can you imagine what your life would look like if you could…
…meet yourself with compassion, every single day?...accept your body, maybe even grow to love it, exactly as it is?...prioritize yourself and your needs, without feeling selfish?...leverage the pain of your past into the power of your present?...create lasting change in your patterns of behavior and in your life?...soften into vulnerability, while confidently holding your boundaries?...live a bold, authentic, and empowered life—in spite of your fear? You may not know it yet, but the real power of The Self-Worth Path is already within you.All you have to do is take the first step.
I can't explain in words how amazing this book is. I'm sure that knowing the author personally is clouding my judgement, but at the same time I have read SO many books that claimed to be helpful, written by many people with degrees and certificates that didn't help even a fraction as this one did. If you struggle with Self-Worth, esteem, self-love and more, then this book is for you. It's for you if you are make, female, or somewhere in between.
I picked up a copy of The Self-Worth Path right away when it was released, as I'm such a fan of Lisa on her youtube channel + knew it'd be great. I feel like with any book like this, different exercises, sections, and ideas are inevitably going to resonate with different readers -- a few sections didn't really work for me personally (but that's not to say they won't be perfect for someone else), and the sections that did speak to me really really did. Of course I turned some of the reflection prompts and ideas into the basis for card spreads. Highlights for me were being prompted to try new kinds of movement (which, for me, was a dance class I found on the internet), so many short to-the-point bits of wisdom (including some real gems from Peggy too!), and the idea of the 'go-to survival-mode self-care' strategy (I so needed this and have never come across a better way of thinking about my issue of deprioritizing self-care during the times I need it most). ❤️
I just finished telling my friend that he and his wife should read this book. I explained how Lisa’s writing style and format is unlike many other hard to read textbooks and it makes the reading flow, very quickly.
It is written in a narrative style with a wonderful feature in which Lisa speaks to you in her own voice and says, “Wait a minute let me tell you something….” Lisa speaks directly to you without trying to impress anyone, she is genuine. She speaks honestly about her lived experiences and shares in a unique vulnerability that most authors/people would avoid at risk of being judged.
I told my friend that I have repeatedly returned to reread many sections which I have flagged for reference. I like how openly she talks about how societal pressure can become internal pressure and self- imposed disregard for one’s own needs.
Lisa discusses the effects of transference, in a way for everyone to understand and identify with. The results are the achievement of a greater consciousness, to make better decisions in the present. She has demonstrated success in her interpersonal relationships, with these better decisions.
Reading this book has made me reflect on my own life path. She has made me discover the way to be a truer, better person, to myself and others and I feel incredibly grateful.
Thank you for sharing your knowledge and experiences, Lisa. I am looking forward to your next books!
I loved the book. Lisa is a very kind and humble human being and I have been following her social media for a couple of years now. This book has some great value and talks about many aspects of ones self-worth that are important to nourish and take care of. Does it add anything new to the world of self-worth books? I‘m not quite sure about that. However, I love her easy and accessible writing style, her precise use of language, her structure of the book that actually really resembles a path to walk on and her passion for this subject which you do feel in every sentence. I definitely recommend this book to people who are interested in this kind of topic.
I really love this little gem of a book and Lisa's kind, approachable tone throughout. Lisa teaches using metaphors and anecdotes (the exact way I learn). Though I knew much of the information she shared already, her gentle style reinforced these messages of self-care to me and inspired me to check in with myself to make sure that I actually was making progress on those steps of the path and not just avoiding the hard work. This is a book you read and just want to share with others. Thank you. 💕
One of the best self help books I have read! Often these types of books can be quite annoying when the author claims to "have the answers". But this book is not one of them. It reads more like a in-deep conversation with a friend: raw, honest and relatable. I found it super helpful, although some of the topics didn't apply to me. Beautiful, clear writing. I also like that Lisa references her sources and quotes. A little gem! Worth reading! :)
I found Lisa through the tarot community on YouTube and was immediately drawn to how personable she is. This book is no different. It’s really helped me on starting my own path and reading Lisa’s experiences helped me feel less alone in mine. It’s gentle and kind and exactly what I needed in my life right now.
Although “I’ve finished this book!” The truth is the work is ongoing. Will be keeping this on the shelf as a reference for moments when it’s necessary to go back and revisit some steps.
I found Lisa on YouTube and immediately fell down a rabbit hole that led me to this book. I appreciate the insights in this book, though not new or groundbreaking, they are presented gently.
This book is a 3 star rating for me solely because I’m a mental health therapist, and there wasn’t a whole lot of new information in here. What is here is absolutely beautiful in its presentation, with lots of anecdotes and journal prompts to help with processing.
