Hell hath no fury…

One of my men has been taken, and I will stop at nothing to find him.

And when I do, our troubles won’t be over. An army has been formed, and me and my men are the only ones standing between it and the destruction of the magical world.

I was brought to the Raven Academy to find my inner witch.

But finding her is no longer the problem. Controlling her is. While a prophecy says I may be the savior of the world, I might also be its destroyer.

And when I discover what hides inside of me, I no longer know just what side I’m fighting for…

I need to remember the only person to blame for this read was myself🤦‍♀️

Was it horrible? No, but after three books one may expect to see some growth in a character. Instead we get more stupid shit from our MFC.

This author is also fond of the power stripping trope. She played around with it in book two and it is more present in this book. Just a warning for those that hate that trope as much as I do.

This series has been brilliant. With so much humour and sass these characters are amazing.
I loved how this storyline revealed itself. Meghan is absolutely perfect for this book and it’s characters.

Terrific Story & Narration🎧 Fascinating & Diabolical!

Magic Misrule
A Reverse Harem Academy Romance (Raven Academy, Book 3)
By: A. Caprice
Narrated by: Meghan Kelly

I thoroughly enjoyed this series, A. Caprice created a fascinating and imaginative world filled with equally fascinating and imaginative characters and storylines. This book picks up immediately after the second book and starts with a rescue mission. There is unrest and turmoil in their world and it is looking more like the prophecy is true, that Delaney Jones will either save the world or end it. She and her men, Bane, Dante and Gareth complete the power of four, but more has to be done to strengthen and bind their power. People are choosing sides, some are backing Delaney up, some are not, some ran for cover to hide, but in the end, whey it mattered they came out of hiding to help. I liked how everything played out, the ending was not as epic as I was expecting but I was still happy with the way things turned out. I am left with a few questions, but I am keeping this review spoiler free, I just hope it is not the last we see of these characters. There is never a dull moment in this book, the story story is nicely plotted with drama, angst, action, twists and turns, thrilling and suspenseful moment, heartfelt and emotional moments and a slow burn, low to mid heat reverse harem romance. A. Caprice thank you for this great story and series.

🎧📚🎧 Meghan Kelly is a fabulously talented narrator and versatile voice artist. She does an awesome job portraying these characters and us amazing at covering both the male and female roles, giving each their own distinct voice making it easy to follow along and tell who is who. She has a complete understanding of the characters she plays, sounding natural and believable in every role she performs. She sets the perfect tone for the story, captures all of the characters emotions which is reflected in her performance. Meghan Kelly is an entertaining storyteller and a pleasure to listen to. Thank you for another awesome listen.

I wanted so much more

After the first 2 books, I wanted to believe this one would go out with a real big bang. It didn’t come and fell flat. We found Bane but this 4some was so damned vanilla. No fudge, no sprinkles, no cherries, no whipped cream nor nuts; like where was the sundae that would be 3 alpha males to 1 alpha female?

Then, the villainy was so cliche. I mean, nothing unexpected. Where was the darkness? The betrayal? From the missing council, to the headmistress etc. like, they all disappeared into retirement?

At the end of the day, I felt that Ms. Jones was built for so much more than was delivered. She was such a damn firecracker in the first 2.

I thought Bane with his age and experience was going to set some sheets ablaze and put the two youngins in their place. This was his time to shine and instead....blah....in fact all the sex scenes were blah - so uncharacteristic of this author (I’ve read her other books).

Our demon and vamp were the only consistencies, going for each other’s head. The only testosterone for miles... I really wanted to read this book, anticipated this book, but in the end, disappointed. In fact, I liken my disappointment of this book to the end of Game of Thrones. Well, read it to know how it ended, but don’t expect too much.

Audiobook Review: Once again listening to Meghan Kelly is such a pleasure throughout this story and series. The passion that is poured into each characters individuality leaves you never wanting to hit pause. From the beginning it’s been a tough call as to whom is my favorite of these men and while listening to book two I was torn between Dante and Bane but as we continue forward in book three with the continued mission to save the world, Dante has my heart. I truly do enjoy what each man brings to the table but I just can’t move past this man. There are scenes in this book that had me stopped in my tracks imagining myself in Delaney’s shoes and others I just couldn’t believe what was happening and how strong of a connection the four of them share. The final chapter left us with a bit of a cliffhanger and looking forward to what’s to come but it felt a bit calm at the same time, the couple of chapters right before the end were unbelievable. I would of liked to see that much “umph” in the final for book three but overall a story that is a must read.

Not impressed

The plot in this story isn't really original, but it was still interesting. I feel like the ending is rushed and weird.

***Spoiler alert***

Lucifer gathered an army of different types of magical beings. So, while he gets taken out, why did none of the others keep to the plan? Was it because Lucifer wasn't paying them? How does Delaney plan on staying in charge of the lower world with no magic? What was her plan when she lost her magic? She really was a stupid girl. I don't like stupid heroes. Being dyslexic does not mean stupid. Just because she wasn't book smart didn't mean she had to be a complete air head!.

I'm not impressed with the series. The characters are not well developed. Other than Insta lust, there is no reason for the characters to care about each other. I'll make an exception for Dante. He at least tried to develop a relationship with Delaney albeit based on lies. I think the series had promise. It just needed better development.

Title: Magic Misrule
Author: A. Caprice
Format: Audio
Narrator: Meghan Kelly
Genre: Paranormal Romance, RH
Standalone: Nope
Part of a Series: Book 3 of The Raven Academy trilogy
POV: Delaney, Dante, Gareth, Bane
Steam Level: Hot
4/5

Magic Misrule is the final book in the Raven Academy trilogy. Magic Misrule starts right where the second book ends. And this time someone was missing and the enemies are attacking. It's go time for Delaney. Either learn to use her powers or she and everyone she loves will suffer the consequences. Magic Misrule is the most action-packed of this series and I liked it the most. Limits are tested, bonds forged and armies formed. People are injured, people die and all is on the line.

Audiobook Review:

This was a great ending to this trilogy. Lots of surprises, great pace and flow, and finally the relationship development I was hoping for. And it was brought to life beautifully once again by Meghan Kelly. I was smiling at the end and it's what I always hope for when I've finished a good book.

Okay, I read this whole trilogy. I felt it needed to be longer with each book. I hate Professors/Teachers and students getting together. Yuck! I did like the characters but not Bane as a professor at all. I disliked her being stripped of her powers as well.

This book was a letdown for me.

Overall, the trilogy is 9 stars altogether.

Enjoyable

I enjoyed reading this series. The ending felt wrong though. I feel it could if had a bit more. Maybe possibly 1 more book to make it feel complete. Great storyline and characters

Rating the entire series. I liked the slightly different take that witches can come into their powers as early adults so Delaney could be slightly older with some life experience. Her men were solid characters and you have to love her best friends.
