his is a story about the journey to true love, and the wreckage it created. For eight years Mallory Wayne fought for the heart of D, Dante Kole.
With two thousand miles separating them, lies, betrayals, healing and breaking all the while knowing they were destined to fail... grew the most powerful bond, unbreakable connection, that neither could break free from.
Mallory has spent her years in college trying to prove that soul mates exist, that oil can mix with vinegar, that a tornado could live in the heart of a hurricane and that ugly can sometimes be perfect.
This is a love story unlike any other. It is filled with longing and sadness. Hope and broken hearts. Life and death but there, at the bottom of it all is the love some only imagine and forces you to believe in the impossible.
She was eighteen, he was twenty-four. It was a long distance relationship that became a lifeline to them both.
Fate always brought them back, eight years and a sea of deception between them, fate always had its own course.
At eighteen Mallory was a logical and rational girl, determined to run far and fast from Friday Harbor, Washington, but by twenty six she found the power between love and hate and how they go hand in hand to balance the scales.
In true Melanie fashion she just killed me again. I am a crying, blubbering, ugly mess from reading this book. OMG this book....just...words...can't find... the right ones to tell you how amazing it is, how heart wrenchingly brutal it was to read! This book is as the title states Ugly, Perfect. The life these two lead is so ugly yet so perfect for them as it could really be no other way anything less wouldn't be their story. I thought Melanie's TAT series ( amazing series btw if you haven't read it you need to!!!) was gonna be the death of me but I realize now that it is this one that's gonna kill me. Thank you Melanie for such an amazing book and it WAS worth the wait and hassles you went through to get it to us!
Love love love this book! It was an emotional roller coaster that you couldn't put down. I loved the story of Mallory and Dante. I felt such a connection to the characters and understood her side and the feelings she was going through on an emotional level when you truly love someone and not knowing what they're thinking and how they feel. But to then see Dante literally email her and give his side put things into perspective you almost wish that all men would do that. This goes on for 8 years the love the hate the emotion. It's sad, you'll cry but so worth the read.
I love that this book is still connected to the TAT series through one of the supporting characters. It was a hard book to read but the messages Melanie Walker gives you through her writing is profound. The only thing I disliked was the jumping around from past to present. I had to keep going back to the start of each chapter to remember the timeline lol. But to be able to experience another book by Melanie I will gladly write the timeline on a sticky if I have to! Can’t wait for her next book.
This one will take you on an emotional rollercoaster ride. It touched on every emotion from humor to heartache. I love that fact that you get both Mel and D's side of things. I loved the book. This is a must read.
Another epic tale by our beloved Melanie Walker, if you loved the tat Series you will love this too. A haunting story that keeps you captivated, unwillingly to let you return to reality until you reach the end.......then leaves you craving more.
When I started reading this book I thought I had read it before. It is strange because according to the publishing date by Amazon it just came out. Well after doing a little research it turns out I was right and I did. It was written with a different cover and under a different author name. All though it is still the same author for both names. I don't understand why she changed her name and republished it. I noticed she's done it whether the other books as well.
