Welcome to Krista Nerestant's journey from the other side of the globe-the islands of the Philippines-to the United States of America. Indestructible is where she shares the hidden gifts of trauma that have empowered her to not only survive but also thrive in a life most would have given up on. Krista was a traumatized overachiever bound by the cultural and societal limitations of her home country. But coming out as a spiritual medium exposed the many resources she had in her arsenal, inspiring her to embark on a healing journey. In Indestructible, she shares how she learned to extract life-healing lessons while overcoming a violent past, with the hope of inspiring and teaching survivors to approach personal wounds as a gateway to unleashing their self-actualization. Her story will stimulate you mentally, physically, emotionally, and spiritually-but most of all, it will lead you to start your own journey of self-discovery and uncover your very own hidden gifts of trauma.
Krista was his father's favorite child because she is submissive towards his doings. She thoughtfully narrates the anecdotes that created envy between the siblings and its after-effects throughout their lives. She played the role of mother, sister, and took care of siblings in every possible manner, but in doing so, she attracts a lot of negative and unwanted energy.
To relish a peaceful life, she chooses to let go of all the bitterness and anger she carries. From a young age, she took responsibilities and try to live up to her late mother's expectations. She keeps faith and being a life coach, and spiritual medium between the spirits and humans, she forged her path. Her debut book gives a ray of hope that one day everything will work out just fine. I enjoyed each chapter and felt bad that the book ends so soon. This book is for every non-fiction lover because you can learn a lot from it according to your intellectual state. I highly recommend it.

Every child deserves love and care, especially in their growing years, but unfortunately, Krista's childhood was all about abuse. From having an abusive father to a helpless mother, Krista had a traumatic childhood. She was severely punished for the wrong things she does. Instead of being pampered, she was punished in front of everyone. Her mother decided to leave them and goes to the USA to live with her sister. Now all responsibility comes to Krista, she has to protect her siblings as a sister and a mother.
Krista and her siblings move to the USA, after that everything changes. From the islands of the Philippines-to, the United States of America, Krista's journey from an abusive childhood to turning into a strong woman is what the story all about.
Her transformation was heart-touching. While reading I could feel her pain, the trauma she felt. I highly appreciate the author for penning down her story and giving a strong message on how to live even after all the suffering. The transformation to healing herself was written so beautifully that I couldn't stop my tears. This is not just an inspiring or motivational story but it is a story about the healing of a body-mind and soul. I highly recommend this book to everyone.😊❤️ 🔹
The author Krista Nerestant pens down the heartfelt story of her life. In this autobiography, she mentions that she was born to an alcoholic and abusive father in Philippines. Her mother suffered all the harassment quietly, until one day she decided to leave her children with their father and ran away to USA for a better life. Life was harder since then. The father continued with his violent treatment towards his children. But the author Krista was the favorite child of her father. She was submissive to his demands and aggression and hence her father loved her the most. But that created a rage among her other siblings towards her. Later in life, Krista also moves to the US but has to face her own challenges. Its told that she has gradually chanced from being submissive to being a strong woman. She tried to take care of her siblings along with coping up with the new lifestyle.
The author pens down different circumstances that she underwent in life. You can feel the pain in your heart reading her words. It takes courage to write down all the bad things one went through in life for the public and Krista did it brilliantly. The writing style is very smooth and easy to get into. I think you should read it if you want to read about someone who fought domestic violence and developed gradually.
Krista Nerestant went through a tough childhood, and those incidents left her traumatized. However, she makes up her mind to help others while fighting against her own trauma. Will she be successful? This book is all about the hidden gifts of trauma, like patience, compassion and much more that can be used as strength rather than weakness.
"I am not what happened to me, I am what I choose to become." . "Indestructible," means 'Not able to be destroyed.' If the title is of such great power then think of the type of story inclusive of great emotions. This book is a memoir with a painful past which is shared by the author Krista Nerestant. She starts with introducing her father as an alcoholic, drunk man who gives excruciating pain to his wife and children while they were in Philippines. She further discusses how it was difficult for her to be a sister and a mother to her siblings after her mother decided to leave them. . This is a painful yet encouraging journey of Krista divided into two parts; first was that of her childhood. Being a submissive child she was her father's favourite which lead to hatred among her siblings. Her mother Mama Eve, not able to bear the atrocities of her husband, fled to the US in order to have some income of her own. But the father remained unchanged, unaffected continuing to be the same cruel parent and every child had their own approach to cope up with that trauma. . Krista along with her siblings moved to US in the second part. She was astonished to find out the different ways of lifestyle and adapted some to adjust there. There she was able to come out from her past trauma and live her life full of empathy and compassion. The emotional trauma is more painful than the physical one as one has to be in a sane manner in order to live and endure the horrible past. . The author's courage to transform and heal herself is amazing as it takes a lot of time and effort for one to come out of any such experience. The journey is eye watering where we can feel the pain of the author and believe that we cannot have faith in anyone in this world. The encouraging quotes at the start of every chapter is quite motivating. The title is apt which shows the post-traumatic growth of the author's life with an appealing cover page which contradicts the story. The narration actually kept me hooked towards the story. An amazing transformation from a submissive girl to that of a strong and responsible woman is presented beautifully. Really recommend it to everyone to read this autobiography.
Krista Nerestant shares the painful journey of her life through her memoir. Her father was an abusive and alcoholic person who used to beat his wife and children to teach them a lesson. This led her mother to flee to USA to earn money for their living. But the assult of her father to her siblings never stopped. They all developed a different way of coping with this pain and it reflected on their actions.
Krista was her father's doll as she was always submissive towards his actions. This caused envy between her and her siblings which created a barrier among them.
Krista relocated to USA with her four siblings John, Toni, PJ and Rex to be with their mother. Born in Philippines they found it difficult to cope up in USA. She played the role of mother, sister and took a great care of her siblings in every way possible and through this she attracts a lot of negative energy.
To overcome this negative and unwanted energy and live a peaceful life she let go of all her bitterness and angry and tried to be compassionate and an empath. From a young age she took all the responsibilities to live upto the expectations of her late mother.
There is so much pain in the author's life and the reader can actually feel it. She endured all the pain and became a strong woman and was ready to adapt to changes that lie ahead.
In her memoir, the author shares her childhood memories which helped her to achieve her dreams. She narrates her life struggles and how she overcame those in a beautiful way. The story is very inspiring and suggests you to take control of your life and it's problems.
This story gives you a lot to learn and I liked every chapter which gives a unique touch to the story. The language used is simple and lucid. Inspirational quotes at the beginning of each chapter brings out positivity to the readers.
I recommended this book to all those who love to read non fiction and memoirs.

It is true that the past is always a non-detachable part of one's life, but one cannot just hold on it. The future holds the unspoken and the unpredictable. No one other than our actions defines what the outcome shall be. In the book INDESTRUCTIBLE: The hidden gifts of trauma, the author has jotted down her journey from the island of Philipines to the United States. With a bitter but not sweet childhood, Krista grew up amidst an abusive and toxic environment. When the kid requires the most nurturing and love, she was exposed to abuse and harassment by her alcoholic father, with her mother being the most helplessly silent to fight back or stand up to him. This was just the trailer of sufferings and agony to her, as the second wave hit her when her mom left her family and ran away to USA. Until now she was a daughter and a sister, but now the resposibilities had burdened her shoulders as now she was the only parent to her sibling. Her father still being addicted to alcohol, whose existence is better left uncounted. But her relationship with her siblings deteriorated.
But THEN, later she came to USA, along with her siblings. Seeing the world from a different view, with a hope of adapting a different life and leaving behind the past which is the biggest challenge in one's life.
A journey which speaks of healing spiritually and mentally, standing up to the past that haunts us, because our past doesn't define the person we are. Some or the other day, one has to leave it behind. for a beautiful life lies ahead of us.
A very hearttouching and beautiful story of rising from the trauma to touch the sky. The language written is decent and in a way connecting to the reader. An emotional read.
Indestructible by Krista Nerestant is an autobiography where she shares the hidden gifts of trauma that shaped her in a better person.
Krista is an spiritual person and empathetic towards people in a way she could feel the emotions of the dead, the mourning. We see her struggle through making peace with her mind and the gifts she is blessed with and finally being able to conquer herself.
The book is divided into two timelines. The first being the authors childhood, the suffering of her Mama Eve and the trauma they had to endure due to her abusive alcoholic father. We learn more of her initial days where she was first introduced to her feelings of empathy, the confusion, why all of this is happening and how do she get a hold of herself.
The second part is the adult Krista where we see she is finally trying to heal, a more stronger version of her yet a little bound to her traumas but finally breaking her chains with her past and aboard on the journey of self - healing and finding and controlling the way she could use her gifts through meditation.
This book is a heartwarming journey of the author towards self- healing. It has some gut wrenching scenes that she had to go through in the childhood but contrast to that we also she her making peace with herself. The writing is simple, beautifully narrated and mesmerizing. I loved the cover of this book, it's simple and serene just how the book makes you feel. Would recommend this one through any one suffering from personal traumas and find it hard to let it go.

Do your parents forgive you when you do a mistake or do they punish you by placing red hot coal pieces on your palm? Indestructible is a self written story of the author itself. On her life and how she coped up with all the traumatic outbreaks in her life. From her childhood, to loosing her mother after she ran away from her family especially her husband( krista's father) as he was acoholic and abusive, to shifting to a new place, everything has something hidden as a gift for krista. The story highlights about healing, empowerment, childhood memories, how things changed when her mother left her with all her siblings, and her abusive father. She was loved by her father more then other siblings as she was strong enough to handle his tantrums and was much submissive in nature. Life has a lot of things to teach us, the story is crystal clear from this that how life teaches oneself to be a strong person like krista as she became one. Seeing and going through a lot Krista handles her siblings and shifted to USA, she narrates her journey regarding this too! Every chapter of the book is written in such a sensitive manner with lots of feelings that I wonder how can life be so cruel but everything has a hidden gift from god like the author Krista experienced and overcome all her hurdles. The cover and the title of the book are beautiful and unique. Story Plot: The autobiography is beautifully written and narrated by the author. It teaches us many things that we should keep in our mind. Highly recommended! A worthy read!
"On the days I wake up not feeling my best, when life dispenses another bout of atroci- ties, I answer just one question to define my attitude: “How am I going to love myself today?”
~ Indestructible by Krista Nerestant
The book is self explanatory in terms of the genre and its attachments towards the life of optimism, love, achievements and overcoming of all the fears that traumas and uncertainties behold.
Life of the author is well explained through her own emotions in the most delightful and heart warming context. An insight into her world would let the readers derive the essence of life in a broader context. The book is about finding your life purpose in troubles and traumas with silence and letting your emotions get channelised through the words that are meant to be felt and embedded in minds than to just mere read.
Author Krista Nerestant uses her life experiences with all sorts of relationships and encounters with acquaintances to write this book that delves deep into human nature. The question at the end of each chapter is the thought provoking attribute towards the essence we seek.
The author takes the readers along the journey through her ordeals with an effective narration and a greater understanding of our living!
It's not self help, rather this book has the beautiful concept of self awakening.
Have you ever read any book which tore you apart, and healed you again?
Krista Nerestant has penned down her atrocious childhood days in her memoir. After finishing Educated by Tara Westover I have started to love this genre. I loved this book, and you can check my review in this profile.
Krista's father was an obnoxious as well as abusive person, who used to beat his children and wife. Krista's mother could not tolerate the painful days anymore, and fled to USA to earn some money, leaving her children to her husband.
Though the assault never stopped.
Krista and her siblings started to cope up with their situation in their own way. Later in life she moved to USA with her siblings to stay with her mother.
Long story short, the author has explained the painful days beautifully, which helps the reader to understand the depth of the situation, and also encourages to overcome difficulties in life.
She teaches us that anxiety, depression, trauma, and abusive childhood should not become a barrier between you and your dreams. You must use these as your positive weapons rather than excuses to shatter.
This book is really nice. It is recommended to anyone who wants to grow through life experiences.

Title : Indestructible Author: Krista Nerestant Language : English Pages : 200
✏Someone has very rightly said " The struggle we are in today is developing the strength we need tomorrow." All of us have an aim in life and keep struggling for it. We are often busy in meeting our day to day wants and never even care for our health.
✏Indestructible is an amazing story which talks about a girl who gets under the attack of trauma at a very young age. Being a spiritual person and trauma coach she lives through the hardships of life. She started living up the life she wanted to live for herself and her family and in the same fell in love with the journey. Infact she changes every trauma into gifts and readily keeps asking in her book " What are my hidden gifts of trauma? "
✏It was an amazing read and I would recommend it to all my friends. The author's narration was quite smooth and simple. It was easy to understand and am looking forward for more books of this genre.
Life is Just full of everything....it has dark nights and shining morning too... we just need to wait for the perfect time to glow.
The story evolved around the character Krista whose childhood was more than horrible and which snatch her childish smile away .... Because of her father's abusive behaviour the whole family went through many sleepless nights having bruises over their body .....her mother took every wounds gifted by her father but when that was too much to bear she fled away leaving behind her childs with this abusive personae...
And from there the journey took another phase because of Krista's submissive attitude towards her father he used to love her the most ....
Krista's journey to transform herself from submisive to a strong woman is what the story all about....while reading this the readers can feel the amount of pain tht the central character forced to bear ...the storyline is gripping ..
It took more courage to confront the bitterness that one suffered ...the journey was not at all smooth but Krista managed it well..
In life, you always have a choice. But sometimes its easier to believe that you don’t”- Gwen (BBC Merlin).
Sometimes it’s easier to forgive a stranger, but hard to forgive a person you know. Recently, I came across this book “Indestructible: The Hidden Gifts of Trauma” an auto-biography from Krista Nerestant in which she tells about her dreadful past.
Her father is an Alcoholic and use to abuse her mother along with her younger siblings, the book starts when Krista’s Dad burned her hands and she received that blow at the age of 9. The book deals with her painful upbringing, childhood, her relationship with her siblings and parents.
Her life took a drastic turn when she arrived in the USA, she didn't expect the harsh reality. When she was younger, she can sense emotions around herself, later she realizes that she is an empath.
This book teaches us that how hard a situation could be it can change for good, Keep your first foot forward and you can definitely deal with trauma, pain, anxiety, or any harsh reality of life.
This particular book made me cry after seeing the struggles and painful journey of the author. I felt like im very lucky. The story if full of pains, struggles, voilenece. But one thing is sure after this book you will get a next level energy and a life lesson. This book is a story of krista who is a very stable child who tries to find peace in life. At a very young age she experiences what other kids don't. She overcome with every problems like father's insane behaviour, mom's absence as she left her husband house for better living, siblings envy, etc. She is a super women as she does role of mother, sisiter to give a better life to other siblings. Hatts off to the author who shared the journey in a simple but very effective language. The story will give you mixed emotion like anger, sympathy, happy. A must read book to motivate your self. The main motto of this book according to me is self-belief, self- motive. Never lose hope and be happy with every problems.
There are moments in our life when we find ourselves helpless and even if we want to change our current situation, we can't do much about it. Imagine what happens when such moments become an entire phase of our life and every single minute we deal with horrifying incidents.
Krista takes us to her journey which starts with a forgettable childhood filled with domestic violence. There are numerous occurrences described vividly in novel when Krista and her family is at receiving end of her father's wrath. Her mother flees away soon leaving her and siblings to the misery of her evil natured father. How she is able to come out of that life and makes a mark on the society forms the crux of remaining story.
Entire book revolves around Krista. The spiritual mentions throughout the non fictional tale is worth knowing and embracing. The writing style is captivating and the book touches perfect chord of string deep down.
This story is not a single trauma but a journey over a lifespan of pain, adjustments, and healing. Indestructible covered so much more than I imagined. It had a great balance of stories and self-reflections. I was able to experience both the traumas and the healing along with her as she places her self-reflective encounters with her therapist and recommended healing methods interspersed between her stories.
There are graphic scenes and encounters that have no sugar coating. She is very honest with her experiences and it makes her all the stronger to be able to reflect and address her past in that much detail. Krista has a beautiful way with words and creating imagery in her settings taking the reader along with her in each of her environments. The quotes at the beginning of every chapter fit so well that I started taking a second to reread each quote and sit with it a bit before diving in.
The main protagonist of this story is krista her daddy was an alcoholic and so he could barely walk he behaved like a polarized man with his own daughters.
Through krista's frustration she tried every endless possibility to work things out with her little efforts and her daddy always terrifieds eveyone in family.
Krista's mother moved to united states alone without informing anyone So in krista's life she had to deal with the effects that have come out of being abused both physically and sexually.
Every day she have to look at herself in the mirror and see someone who has been used and abused for being born the painful emotions are shunted in the full story
At that moment krista had guilt for what she did that day. And her siblings taken away from our parents and put in foster care for our first time.
I'm not sure the author quite delivers on the promise of the title -- maybe I wanted a bit more self-reflection than she offered -- but this is an interesting story of a difficult childhood and family situation that included glimpses into a culture I'm not very familiar with, and the author definitely demonstrates how she was able to rise above them, with clean prose that's quick and easy to read. She also references, without providing much detail, some spiritual or mystical abilities that I really wanted to know more about. Maybe that'll come in another book.
I finished Krista’s new book #Indestructible within 3 days. By reading this great book, I realized my so-called childhood trauma is actually not trauma at all, and I have no excuses to not heal, get strength and thrive! Krista shared her childhood trauma and her life journey, from being abused and losing her family to building a successful career and having a lovely family on her own! Such an inspiring friend with a powerful spirit! I highly recommend this book.
What I appreciated most about this read was Krista's vulnerability in sharing some really challenging times in her life with the reader and how transparent she was. Rather than preaching things, she reflected well and that resonated with me much better. I was really happy to read this book, it was a read that really drew the reader in and you felt like you lived her story with her. I had a much more positive outlook and perspective on things once I finished the book.
