Boys of Bridgewater #2

Billion Dollar Date

Rate this book
"Hello, Enzo."

With just two simple words, Chari Atwood storms back into my life.

Beautiful. Irresistible. The woman standing before me is not the girl I knew growing up.

And I'm not the same hopeful kid everyone thought was going nowhere fast.

Nowadays, I'm a hero. A celebrity. A man who isn't content with the billions in his bank account.

Call me ambitious if you want. I have my sights set on the rest of the world, and don't have time for a relationship—even with the one woman who still has the power to bring me to my knees.

I will not break.

I will not succumb.

Except that I'm used to getting exactly what I want, and after one chance encounter, it's clear that what I want is Chari Atwood . . .

Even if she is my best friend's little sister.

Billion Dollar Date is a second chance standalone romance with its own HEA. For readers who enjoy big Italian families and sexy brothers who love to outdo each other, it can also be read as a part of the Boys of Bridgewater series.

ALL MY REVIEWS CAN BE FOUND ON MY BLOG: ABSTRACT BOOKS

Billion Dollar date was a standalone Debut novel by the author Bella Michaels. Told in dual perspectives, this book was one sweet take of love and second-chances.

This debut novel by this author was amazing!! I am looking forward to lots of other books by her. The characters were pleasant and this was an amazing contemporary read for me.

Enzo was the male protagonist of this story. He was a workaholic and was determined to prove his worth to others. He was a sweet character to me , and at times really hot!! He loved with passion and will definitely manage to steal your heart!

Chari is a teacher. She was a gentle lady , who had been in love with Enzo for years , and he is unbeknown to that fact! They both reconnect and even after so many years , it is tough for them to deny the spark between each other. The other characters of the book were also very good and I can't wait for their own stories.

I would recommend this book to all the contemporary romance lovers out there!

Love in Long Distance: A Sugar Sweet Read

What’s this book about? (I'm trying to give as little spoilers as possible)
Enzo is a workaholic. Chari is your girl next door. He’s made it in the big city, always off doing something new. She moved back home after college. He left and rarely looks back. Feelings arise when these two meet again and their attraction is inevitable.

This is my first Bella Michaels read. It seems to be her debut billionaire romance novel. I picked this up because I liked the cover and one page in, I wasn’t disappointed by the story either. I was hooked by the characters and their undeniable chemistry. The family and friendship aspect was delightful. Chari is a badass teacher and an adorable leading lady. I have a soft spot for second chance romance somehow. Enzo was a charming, attractive and stubborn leading man who had to set his priorities straight. Their chemistry was so compatible; I needed to know what happened next and whether these two eventually worked their issues out. This novel was an entertaining escape from my usual dark reads. I recommend it to billionaire romance lovers, intense chemistry seekers and sugar sweet couple enthusiasts.

Original comment: A sugar sweet read. Needed that.

One of my greatest delights as a book blogger/reviewer is discovering authors that I’ve never read before- especially NEW authors, so it was a delight to jump into the words of Bella Michaels on her debut novel, Billion Dollar Date. I got even more excited when I read the blurb and got to marvel over the Aiden Turner look-alike on the cover (my nerd is showing!). Bella shows a lot of promise as a newcomer, delivering a sweet love story about the power of intentionality and compromise in making romance work.

Enzo is a practice workaholic- committing everything he has to the success of his Angel alcohol brand and the constant expansion of his business. He has no time for friends, for family, or even really basic living- his only love is for his work. But, in a rare visit home, he reconnects with Chari, the younger sister of his childhood bestie. Their connection is undeniable, but their romance isn’t practical- he’s a big city career guy holed up in his office in NYC, and Chari is a professionally frustrated small town girl living with her mother in their hometown of Bridgewater a few hours away. Not to mention that he can’t just be casual to explore this attraction- not only would it ruin his friendship with Chari but it would also be a huge issue with her brother. They can’t deny their interest, and after one incredibly romantic “Billion Dollar Date” they decide to give it a go, but when they come down from that romantic high, in the barren light of the day-to-day, can they make it work?

Both characters here are relatable and likable- particularly Chari- embattled educator with daddy issues who sabotages relationships? GET OUT OF MY HEAD, BELLA! So, clearly much of her character identity resonated with me, and despite Enzo being rich AF and super driven- Bella gives him traits that keep him grounded and down to earth- you believe him both as a rich businessman and as a smalltown boy. The chemistry is a bit more subdued here, more heart than heat- less about instalust or the physical (although that’s there) and more about the shared history these two possess. We don’t get too much of a window into that so we have to take their word for it, but the marked familiarity between these two really shapes the dynamic.

This is more of a second chance romance than it is a brother's best friend. He is her brother’s best friend, but despite little bumps this really isn’t much of a factor in the romance- and the friendship doesn’t feel like “best friends”- the two don’t even interact that much. This certainly didn’t matter to me when it came to the story- but for those who love that trope, just know the brother issue is pretty low drama. Overall, the story is actually pretty lower angst, which I actually really appreciated. For once the issue isn’t the characters being unsure about whether they want to be together or a drawn out push pull. Instead this is more about settling into a relationship- learning how to make concessions and adapt the infrastructure of your life to make space for someone else, and determining when compromising works and when compromising is giving up parts of yourself. For Enzo, this is particularly challenging because of his orientation to work, and for Chari her own trust issues and lack of direction alienate her from seeing herself as part of Enzo’s fancy reality. Chemistry is also impacted because hey are long distance, do they do spend substantial time apart in this book- but I love how Bella has them (mostly) openly communicate- this is, in part, why the angst is lower and tensions resolve quickly- they talk it out. The final conflict is quickly resolved- perhaps could have used a bit more time to swim around in its impact, but again, nice for the angst to be lower.

Overall, this is a solid debut-the romance is sweet, the drama low key, and the characters are well defined. . I enjoyed getting to know Bella and looking forward to seeing what she does next as a writer!

💋💋

If this is a first book, I can’t wait to read more from Bella.
Every page was addictive reading , I was hooked deep into the night, hating the fact I had to put the book down eventually.

I’m sold on Bella’s adorable characters.
Enzo, WOW what can I say.
He’s a gem with a romantic heart of gold and he’s a handsome one too .
Though a workaholic he’s out to prove to himself and the World that he will do what he says he can.
He believes so he achieves, he’s going to really get into your heart.

Chari she’s a lady who knows what she wants but hasn’t yet found the tools to make it happen.
A school teacher who’s restricted by her headteacher, and the system .
She’s beautiful, loving, she’s been in love with Enzo for many years , unbeknown to him.

Their families are supportive and loving on both sides, characters that are screaming out for their stories to be told.
Bella Michaels, you have your work cut out , and I for one can’t wait to read them all.
Definitely a big fan.

Chari's always had a crush on her brother's friend, Enzo, but kept saying she was over it. Then Enzo actually came back to town, for his brother's restaurant opening, and those old feelings are back. Only this time, it seems they're reciprocated. But there are a few obstacles to any relationship they might start - he's a workaholic living in the big city, and she's a small town teacher who has insecurities that probably won't allow her to settle into Enzo's billion dollar lifestyle.

This is a sweet, low angst romance. I really appreciated both characters, especially Chari, who was so relatable to us regular woman who suffer from our own insecurities. I like that Enzo is not the typical aggressive billionaire alphahole, and that he's actually a very sweet guy, if a bit oblivious. For a debut novel, this is particularly great reading with a whole wonderful cast of characters.

Bella Michaels’ debut novel Billion Dollar Date is a fun and sweet brother’s best friend romance, between billionaire Enzo and schoolteacher Chari.

Enzo’s built his company Angel Inc from the ground up, creating an incredible product, beer where the alcohol content can be removed from a person’s system at the end of the night, sobering them up completely and allowing them to drive. He is working hard to develop other alcoholic beverages, he’s the brains in the lab, with his friend and business partner Hayden heading up other aspects of the business. He barely has time for anything other than work, especially leaving New York to return home to his tiny hometown of Bridgewater in Pennsylvania, until one weekend he goes back for a visit for his younger’s brother’s restaurant opening. He meets up with his childhood best friend Devon at a bar, but who he doesn’t expect to see too is Devon’s younger sister Chari, who has grown up since he last saw her.

Chari has had crush on Enzo since she was in middle school, but he’s always been the unattainable guy, especially when he left their town to make his mark on the world. She loves her job as a schoolteacher, but it’s tough, and she has some trust issues thanks to her father. When Enzo returns, sparks fly immediately between them, which is new. Both try to ignore it, but it becomes too much, and they give in, starting to sneak around on dates behind Devon’s back. They know more is developing between them because of their history, their relationship is not a fling, but neither are willing to admit it early on. As their whirlwind romance becomes more intense, will they be able to make the distance work, especially with Enzo’s workaholic tendencies? What happens when Devon finds out?

Billion Dollar Date was such an easy read. It was light-hearted, swoon worthy and steamy, with minimal angst, but in some ways, I think there could’ve been more drama and twists. It started off so strongly, but fell a bit flat towards the end, but I still enjoyed the story. I liked how Enzo and Chari had history but had to get to know the new versions of each other, with Chari pushing Enzo to focus on life outside of work and Enzo making Chari open her heart and trust others. As a chemist myself, I loved seeing a main character in a romance book as a scientist, and I found the whole concept of Angel beer so fascinating. The other characters added to the plot, I am intrigued by their stories, especially Devon’s and also Hayden’s which is next. Something different about this set of books is that Hayden is married with a baby in Billion Dollar Date, but the next book in the series is his story on how he met his wife. I’ve never read a series when the books aren’t in chronological order, it’ll be strange reading about Enzo in Hayden’s book without Chari. However, the hints for Ada and Hayden’s story have made me desperate to know more!

I would recommend Billion Dollar Date to anyone who wants a drama free, light-hearted and steamy romance novel!

Rumor has it that Billion Dollar Date is Bella Michaels debut book, and frankly, I'm filled with excitement about her future.  Enzo, our hero, is a successful man who is a workaholic determined to prove the doubters wrong.  Chari, our heroine, is a teacher who has had a secret thing for Enzo for years since they grew up in the same small town, but he's clueless since she's his best friend's little sister.  And now he's come back to town for an occasion, and they come face to face again.  These two have some serious chemistry that never fails to shoot sparks every time they are near each other, and it won't be denied for too long.  Enzo was super sexy with a big heart, and Chari was fantastic in her own right, but they were complete opposites.  Like any relationship though, it has bumps in the road, so will they risk it all for a better future?!  Hit those one click buttons to find out!  HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND TO ALL!

I thought I had Enzo figured out, but in the end I did not have a clue. Billion Dollar Date delivers a knock out punch to the heart. Michaels pulls you in with tempting romance, a mysterious bad boy and a deeply emotional story that captivates on so many levels. What began as a teenage crush finally gets it's moment to bloom, but will a heartbreaking secret derail the chance for a happy ending. Chari and Enzo are a mesmerizing addiction that will not be contained.

Chari had a crush on her big brothers bestie since she as a little girl. Enzo has had a crush on Chari since he realized she was all grown up. A random meetup again changes their lives forever. Enzo wants Chari and he is not going to let his work-alcoholic lifestyle stop him for having his first relationship outside of work. I loved how both were close to their families and leaned on their siblings. Lots of good backstory and secondary characters.

"Oh my God, I forgot to tell you. I actually don't have a brain tumor. A neighbor was burning trash in their back yard. The one behind my bedroom. Though I have no idea how mom couldn't smell it."

I always have such a good time with the best-friend's brother/sister trope for some reason. Most books are really entertaining and just fun to read. This book was one of them. I like the characters, and the plot a lot. I did think the end is a bit fast for me, and I didn't really see a lot of struggle between the characters. But overall, it was good.

Summary:

' "Hello Enzo." With just two simple words, Chari Atwood storms back into my life. Beautiful. Irresistible. The woman standing before me is not the girl I knew growing up. And I'm not the same hopeful kid everyone thought was going nowhere fast. Nowadays, I'm a hero. A celebrity. A man who isn't content with the billions in his band account. Call me ambitious if you want. I have my sights set on the rest of the world, and don't have time for a relationship, including the one woman who still has the power to being me to my knees. I will not break. I will not succumb. Except that I'm used to getting exactly what I want, and after one chance encounter, it's clear tat what I want is Chari Atwood . . . even if she is my best-friend's little sister.'

Review:

I like this book. I think this is a cute, funny, and charming contemporary romance. There isn't a whole lot of buildup, which I didn't like because I love my build up. The slow burn, will they or won't they is the best. I feel like this book lacks that tension, which also takes away from the relationship. I like their relationship, but it seems a little too smooth for reality. I like to see the couples struggle with normal, realistic things, and that ddn't show through for me.

However, I like the idea of the small-town celebrity. Enzo is a hardworking, caring person who is very successful. I love the small family moments we get to see because it creates a way for the readers to make a connection to the characters.

I like Chari. She is also hardworking, except her occupation is teaching. She can be funny at times which I really like, otherwise the story is a little bland.

Overall, I like this book. It has good characters with a sweet romance. Although there isn't a ton of buildup, you get to see the characters build their relationship together.

Billion Dollar Date is the debut novel by Bella Michaels -- and she knocked it out of the park with this sweet story between Chari and her brother's best friend, Enzo. Now that I know it is a pen name of a contemporary romance author, I'm dying to know who she really is!

But back to Enzo and Chari. This is pretty standard I've-had-a-crush-on-my-brother's-best-friend-forever fare. Having left their small town after college, Enzo has made millions as the developer of Angel alcohol, the only libation that also has an antidote to make the drinker sober up. But when he comes back for his best friend Devon's birthday, Enzo can't help but notice how grown up Chari has become in the years since he's seen her.

Despite Devon's warnings to not hurt his sister, Enzo and Chari set off on a hot and heavy long-distance affair. They have a pretty perfect billion-dollar weekend in Switzerland where their relationship takes a pretty serious turn. Enzo warns her that he's pretty much a workaholic, and for a while they are able to make long-distance romance work. But when Chari falls head over heels in love and wants more out of Enzo, will he fight for her or let her go?

This story had it all. Great characters, nice flow, sexy banter, likable characters and a real sense of trouble in paradise as they had to figure out how to make their relationship work. Was their love worth fighting for?

I did think that the ending was rather abrupt, and kind of anti-climactic. It left me wanting to know more about Chari and Enzo's future, but I guess we will get glimpses of that in other books to come in this series. I received an advanced copy and voluntarily left a review.

"I loved everything about this book. It was exceptionally well written, the storyline was gripping and all the characters were beyond superb.
It also features a trope that is one of my favorites - brother’s best friend. Enzo and Chari have crushed on each other for a long time but of course the other never knew. Except maybe Enzo did at one stage.
I enjoyed but also hated the push and pull with Enzo. It did make the story more realistic for me but I was ever so happy when he finally got his act together and worked out he could have the life everyone else seems to find so easily.
Would definitely read more from this author again. I voluntarily reviewed an advanced readers copy of this book."

Sweet, Sexy, Fun and most of all Romantic

We all have that one Fantasy of being whisked away to a romantic location by a man who can afford to ignore the price tag.
Well now, this book ticked all those boxes for me. I got to live through the Fantasy of dating a man that hit it big, problems and all.

I could name a couple of other books with that theme, But what makes this particular Billion Dollar Date special is that he is also essentially the boy next door. And technically... her brothers best friend and We all no that's a big nono in a guys book. You don't date your mates little sister.... queu that delicious sexy tension.

This book was nicely written keeping me engaged right through to the very end. The Author brought some pretty cool ideas to life, like Angles Brew and she also took a couple of my favourite troupes and mashed them together to create a love story with some sexy, steamy edges. The world she created already has me intrigued about possible future stories. Even her background characters were engaging leaving me hoping we get to see their Happily Ever Afters.

All in all, I genuinely enjoyed this journey.
This was my first Date with Bella Michaels but boy oh boy I can't wait to see what she does for our second!

When I picked up this book I was expecting the typical setup of a billionaire romance. And I haven’t read one of those in a while, like a lot of readers. But I was pleasantly surprised to see that this was actually more of a small town/brothers best friend romance. While it did take me a bit to adjust expectations, I ended up enjoying this book and can’t wait to see what the next installment will bring.

Enzo is from a tight Italian family in PA. After college, and in partnership with a rich friend, they developed a beer and a pill that if you take it afterwards it sobers you up. How cool is that? Of course, that business blew up and he became a billionaire. But also a workaholic. He now lives in New York and rarely comes back to visit his family. But when he does this time he runs into his best friend’s sister and he just can’t stay away.

I really liked that Enzo is, at his core, a family man. Even when he doesn’t show it because he’s a bit obsessed with his work. He wasn’t your typical billionaire playboy, he genuinely liked Chari and went after her without playing games. I can always appreciate that! Plus I also liked Chari. She has her own personal struggles to make decisions on but she felt very much relatable. The chemistry between them felt real and it kept you rooting for them to find a way to a HEA.

If you’re looking for a brothers best friend romance that is just the right amount of sexy and sweet with a great cast of supporting characters, then check this contemporary debut out.

'Billion Dollar Date' is a Hallmark film waiting to be made. A hot romance book that takes you into the world of a rich handsome man and the love he has for his best friends sister. This is not an age gap romance - only two years separate Enzo and Chari.

Enzo is a workaholic he will admit that to himself - he hasn't come from a rich family but when at college he invents a drink that will radically change the way in which we socialise, Enzo with the help of his rich friend Hayden are able to bring this unique product to market and catapolt them into being one after the sort after businesses in the world. Hence Enzo doesnt have time for romance spending most of it in the lab - he doesnt even go home to see his family although only living a couple of hours away from them.

Carli has never left the small town where she and Enzo grow up. She is now a teacher and is sort of happy with her life. When Enzo returns for a birthday party the crush that Carli has had on Enzo since childhood comes back in full force.

Enzo has always been drawn to Carli and he would love the chance to take her out - which he does on a couple of extremely beautiful expensive dates and even a trip to Swizterland but when the world comes crushing back in will Enzo's love of the company be more than his growing feelings for Carli.

I received a Beta copy of this book and was very exited to dive into such a great story!

Enzo and Chari were more alike than they thought! I won’t go into details because I don’t want to give the story away! He was a successful businessman and she was a school teacher so how would their worlds collide and fit together.

Like any relationship, there are trails and tribulations that will either make or break them. Will they take a chance on it all?

The storyline flowed so wonderfully together and the characters were all intwined. I loved that this book give me all the feels. I can picture the events taking place and it’s like it’s happening in real life. If you ask me some books can have absolutely too much sex making the actions of the books seem unrealistic. I don’t care for that at all! With this book, every single thing that took place from the sex, to the dates, all the way to the end seemed and felt real.

How can it feel real you ask? Read this book and find out! I would have been done sooner but “work” got in my way...how rude right!

Bella Michaels has written one great story that I hope brings more books to the series, if not I’m very happy I was a part of this book! Bella’s writing style has totally drew me in and she has a new book fan for LIFE

Get this book your guys! You will NOT be disappointed!

I loved how utterly real Enzo and Chari’s story felt. They were trying to hide attractions, then trying to hide worries, then trying to hide pain...all because they were so utterly human and Enzo was a typical man who doesn’t always communicate so well when it’s truly important. Sure, he’s super rich and all, but underneath all of that money, he’s still just a man with vulnerability and worry like every other man. He just had to lose his heart to finally realize how he could make his life’s work and the love of his life fit into his world at the same time.

As for Chari, she’s no doormat. She understands work and busy schedules, but she also understands comprise. And if the man she loves isn’t willing to even entertain a compromise, she’s not going to allow him to break her heart anymore than he already has. Like a strong woman, Chari knows her worth and she’s not about to lose herself in a man who won’t make any time for her. And it takes Chari’s willingness to walk away for Enzo to realize just how to make his life all come together.

I loved Devon and his reaction to an adult relationship between two of his favorite people. I loved Lisa and her pushing for change. I loved everyone in this book and would be thrilled to see them all get their own stories. This book is really THAT good.

Bella Michaels has absolutely hit it out of the park with this debut novel and I devoured every single page of it! Enzo and Chari had me hooked from their first interaction.
The magnetic presence of Enzo both in Chari's mind and life and their hometown of Bridgewater makes to want to bask in it, and have all his focus singularly on you.
And Chari, sweet, kind, and the sunshine in your life on a rainy day, who wouldn't want her in their life, always making it better and brighter?
Two planners that need control and don't have time for relationships are up against chemistry that has been building for a lifetime, and it is one heck of a rollercoaster ride of a journey you don't want to miss!
Bella does a simply magnificent job with her descriptions, bringing the scenery and locales to life, as if you're actually there, from the brisk breeze through an open door to the breathtaking vistas out a balcony window.
I love the kinsmanship amongst family and friends, and the blossoming love amongst Enzo and Chari. Secondary characters had me laughing and rooting and I hope to get to read their stories one day!
Billion Dollar Date is light on angst, heavy on emotions, and completely enthralling, a perfect form of escapism on an otherwise bleary day! You won't regret giving this book and this author your time!

Bella Michaels is a new author to me and after reading Billion Dollar Date I’m left wondering why she hasn’t crossed my radar before now, I will certainly be checking out other works by her because this book ticked all my boxes, I was captivated by the story ,I loved the characters and once you add in how well this book was written you get a great read.
Enzo and Chari on the face of it are opposites, he is a workaholic successful businessman and she is a easy going relaxed school teacher but you know what they say about opposites being attracted to each other and when their worlds collide once more in the small town they both grew up in they find out they have a lot more in common than they thought.
This is a romance that will touch you on so many levels, it’s about friendships, it’s about learning to give your time as well as your love in a relationship and it’s about opening your heart and showing your vulnerability. Love isn’t always easy but it’s always worth the fight and the bumps along the way. The chemistry is sizzling and the banter flows naturally throughout this book and if you haven’t already guessed I loved everything about this read. I’m so looking forward to reading more from from this very talented author.

I am definitely a fan of the trope 'best-friends-little-sister' romances. And this is definitely it. Billion Enzo comes back into town for his brother's restaurant's grand opening and runs into the now grown up Chari, his best friend Devon's little sister.

From there the sparks between Enzo and Chari fly.

The book is switching POV which I love. We get to see inside the heads of both main characters.

I really did like both characters. I think Enzo's character was really realistic for a small town guy turned billionaire. He works hard and it shows, its realistic which is what I like.
But mostly I loved the cute intimate scenes between Chari and Enzo. They're cute and something funny. (And of course steamy *wink*)

I am satisfied with the ending but I wish there was most of the struggle between the two. Cause in every romance we always see the characters struggle. Obviously they have to or the story would be a little to clean cut. Clearly we want the two together but we need them to fight as well.

Overall the book is a good contemporary romance read. I think anyone who enjoys romance could open this and thoroughly love Enzo and Chari's story.

Billion Dollar Date was my first read by Bella Michaels and I absolutely loved it! This book has so much going for it from the word go. It’s a:
💗 Billionaire
💗 Small Town
💗 Best Friend‘s Sister Romance
We quickly discover that Chari has had a childhood crush on her brother’s best friend, that has morphed into an adult lust fest for him. Unbeknownst to her, Enzo has been crushing on her as well. Boy oh boy these two have it bad and the sparks coming off them when they are together could ignite a fire in the middle of a rainstorm. I couldn’t wait for them to give in to it and was rooting for them to get to the good stuff.
Falling for each other was easy, overcoming the obstacles in their way - not so much. Just when you thought things wouldn’t work out, Enzo comes to his senses and fights for his girl. Their happily ever after is sexy sweet and ever so satisfying.
I look forward to reading more from this author and hope to see books featuring some of the characters from this book in the near future. TBR and Enjoy!

A heart-warming read about Chari and Enzo. A bubbly small town girl and a workaholic businessman. Chari has loved Enzo from as long as she can remember. When Enzo returns to his hometown after a long time he realizes Chari isn’t the same girl he was last time. Now a gorgeous woman with the same sweet personality. Hence begins their relationship. With each date emotions get high. Best friends little sister, long distance relationship, second chances despite these complications their relationship moves forward. Chari is so kind and lovely and Enzo is just perfect. They are one couple made for each other. A fast read romance. No disappointments. This is Bella Michaels debut novel. Would definitely read her upcoming books

Enzo is a man who has always put his business first and as a result his personal relationships have suffered including those with his family. When he is convinced to return home for a social gathering, he wasn’t expecting that the attraction he had for his best friend’s younger sister would have increased over time rather than diminished.

Charlie enjoys her job as a teacher and has a good group of friends but the one thing she is missing is a man to share her life with. She has had feelings for Enzo for as long as she can remember but never thought he would see her as more than his best friend’s sister.

When the chemistry between them ignites he tries to woo her with the lifestyle he can offer but will he realize that what she really wants is him before it is too late? I enjoyed the debut story from this author as the characters are compelling and they face problems that most people can relate to.

Billion Dollar Date is the debut novel for first time author Bella Michaels. It’s a brother’s best friend romance.
Enzo lives for his job, he’s not looking for love- until he meets Chari again when he returns home for a birthday party. They are instantly drawn together. Chari has been crushing on Enzo for years, and he’s harbored his own secret desires and now he can realize them.
But, Enzo’s life is in New York, not his hometown, where Chari has always lived. Can they make this work? Things will have to change if they want to be together.
I liked this story, it was well written and paced, the characters were fun and realistic. I will definitely read more by this author.

A sweet friends to lovers romance. Although I kept wanting to shake Enzo, I definitely understood his work ethic. It gives me major anxiety to take days off work so I relate to him with that.

Chari seemed so lost to me, but I like that she decided to chase her dreams & not stay stuck because she’s afraid of change.

Who wouldn’t want to be taken around the world on a date?! I wish! If you love the billionaire, friends to lovers story than you will really like this book!

I received an arc of this book in return for an honest review.

Reviewed for A Book Nerd, a Bookseller and a Bibliophile

Chari had a crush on her big brothers bestie since she as a little girl. Enzo has had a crush on Chari since he realized she was all grown up. A random meetup again changes their lives forever. Enzo wants Chari and he is not going to let his work-alcoholic lifestyle stop him for having his first relationship outside of work. I loved how both were close to their families and leaned on their siblings. Lots of good backstory and secondary characters.
