“A man on a mission…”

Greg Anderson is the founder of Cancer Recovery Foundation International, a global affiliation of national organizations whose mission is to help all people prevent and survive cancer.

Cancer Recovery Foundation focuses on the human services side of cancer. It does not fund clinical research or medical treatments. The Foundation provides adults with training and support for implementing whole-person cancer prevention and survival strategies. Children with cancer and their families are served through the Children’s Project. The Foundation has established affiliates in the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Germany and France.

Greg Anderson was diagnosed with metastatic lung cancer in 1984. He was given 30 days to live. Refusing to accept the hopelessness of this prognosis, he went searching for people who had lived even though their doctors had told them they were “terminal.” His findings from interviews with over 16,000 cancer survivors form the strategies and action points for what has become an international cancer survival movement.

Anderson is widely recognized as one of the world’s leading wellness authorities. He is the author of eight books which have been translated into 29 languages.

I have only given this book 3 stars despite its great insight as I dislike the tie-in to formalized religion at the end of the book. I am 6 years past my cancer surgery and 1 year past my treatment, and I am sure that the mind process described in this book had a very great part to do with that. I did not know about this book at the time, but it was just my way of dealing with things. I would not be a victim!! I would recommend this book highly to anyone going through cancer as I feel it is a valuable resource, but with the codicil that the last two chapters be adapted to suit your personal philosophy. I personally subscribe to the oneness of the universe and the golden rule!

This is a delightful and encouraging book and a quick read. The book follows one mans journey through his search for healing from cancer, what he finds is The answer. The author tells his story as it happened and the outcome is not what was initially expected. The way this unfolds is gripping and keeps the reader wanting more.

I like the way this story is presented and especially the way it ends. To the readers, keep in mind that this is just one part of the journey to healing from cancer and, in my opinion, the most important. There are other things a person with cancer must do if they are to win the battle.

Overall, this is a great book and I recommend it to anyone who has cancer or who know someone who is.

I bought this book 28 years ago whilst holidaying in the USA from Australia. I could hardly put it down to visit Disneyland. Greg Anderson introduced me to a whole new way of facing the challenges of any illness. Years later a friend had cancer my copy was lost. I found one on the internet I told the lady selling it why I neede it. She insisted on sending it from USA to Australia at no charge. Such a blessing for my friend and it wasnt that we saved money. It was the generosity and positive vibes we experienced. Same vibes I get when I read this book. I'm searching for another copy now. If anyone has one they could selll sell at a fair price please contact me mahgniddawyoj@gmail.com.
Thank you ...happy days to everyone.😊

This is an important book for anyone who has been diagnosed with cancer. We, as patients, can actively participate in our own recovery. In addition to what medicine can provide, we can assist with improving our mental health and outlook about our cancer. The story is uplifting and empowering. It is worth a rereading.

A quick and essential read for those diagnosed with any form of cancer. It's simply written, not a literary work, but provides goals and thought framing useful at any stage of their journey. It doesn't end with remission.
