Love the story line and the characters BUT I couldn't wait to finish this series of books and put it down forever because of the horrid job of editing and proofing done. I submitted at least 300 misspelled words, sentence structure, grammatical, formatting and plot errors by the time I finished all 5 books I was so done. It was hard to enjoy something so poorly transcribed!

I would only recommend this series of books after the author hires a new editor!

Very unusual, but addicting.
I love books with unusual plots and characters, and this series stands out. I found it after reading First Lessons. I highly recommend both series. Don't plan to sleep or get anything done for a while.

Great, enjoyable book, though, I did feel compelled to correct a word here and there.
It's not easy to take the story from the Russian language, one of the most difficult, to the American English language, also one of the most difficult.

I loved the first book, but the rest of the series took a wrong turn.
In the second book Leyna was just so vengeful it was annoying. She’s also always saying things indignantly or looking at things greedily.
In the third book despite Thrion throwing himself into the portal to try and save/keep her, she didn’t care, I mean that takes a lot of dedication and love. She also loved him back but decided to become engaged to Karten who she didn’t love.
In the 5th book she literally says she sees her friends as lower than her. She forgets their weddings etc. Leyna and Karten were engaged to be engaged and keep each other out of the wedding thingy. They some how had a kid without being married or having sex and when they do she gets pregnant married the minivan with the white picket fence. She also treated Venter like sh*t after she got her powers back. I won’t say Thrion is good at trying to get a girl to stay with him, but Leyna needs to understand that he will end up in a political marriage,and needs to do his duty and that he was trying to say he loved her in his own way.
