Clear waters, pristine beaches, and the bones of human sacrifices…

Of all the places to be transported by magic against my will, a tropical island doesn’t seem too bad. Unfortunately it’s teeming with blood casters who want me dead. On the bright side, I’m not alone; my friends are here too and we’ve faced tougher odds together before.

But the dangerous magic on this island isn’t like some of our other foes and there are places some of us can’t even go without triggering deadly blood magic spells.

To make matters worse, the leader of the blood casters is here and she is a witch to be reckoned with. If the rumors are true, she has rediscovered arcanism – an ancient magic even more deadly than blood magic. If she really is an arcanist, she’s the most powerful magical being in the world and she has made it clear she’s willing to kill anyone who gets in her way. And of course, we are very much in her way.

Elizabeth Kirke wanted to be an author before she even knew what an author was. She used to say that she wanted to be an artist, but that was only because she was too young to write and had to tell stories with pictures instead. She hasn't stopped writing since she learned how. It wasn't long before she dreamed of becoming an author and couldn't be happier now that that dream is a reality.

If she isn't writing...well, let's be honest; if she isn't writing she's probably on Facebook thinking that she should start writing. But, if she isn't writing or on Facebook, she's probably doing something involving books, baking, gardening, or yarn. In an ideal world, she'd be reading and knitting while something from the garden is in the oven. Then again, in an ideal world, she'd have a flock of ducks and a couple of goats.

Like most slightly-nosy, avid readers, Elizabeth can't resist trying to catch a peek at books she sees people reading when out in public to see if she can figure out what it is. While doing just that one day, she realized that it would probably be the coolest-thing-ever if she caught a complete stranger reading one of her books. That's her new dream.

Another gripping adventure.

In this second part of the Rise of the Arcanist serial, Jen and her friends are still on the trail of what is behind a string of disappearances that all seem to centre around a Park. This story starts where the first part left off so it does need to be read in order. This was full of nail biting suspense and adventure right from the start. Can’t wait til part three next month.
I also enjoyed the little hints we got on some of the characters past, so much detail is hidden in both this series and the More Than Magic books.
Another part I loved was the different POV for each chapter, that really let the reader into the heads of each character - Danio’s head is a very scary place!

This is the second installment in the Rise of the Arcanist series of new adult urban fantasy by Elizabeth Kirke. It’s best to read the entire six-volume serial in order.

This episode is a page-turner, wildly careening from one danger to the next. Watch out for scenes of panic-inducing tension! Fortunately, the tense moments are broken up with humorous exchanges between the characters, who are clearly a tight-knit group of friends.

I love the portrayal of diverse paranormal creatures and the unique mythology developed in this series. But even more so, I love the characters, who are all smart, resourceful, and quirky. Their banter is often laugh-out-loud funny.

I was given a free copy of this ebook by the author; I volunteered to provide an honest review.

Exciting! Can’t put down! Page turner! Awesome mysteries! Fantastic Storyline!

This was an excellent book! I was so drawn in that nothing else around me existed. Each character has his own adventure in a place you don’t hear of much in fantasy paranormal books. Because of that, this book was more exciting. I had a hard time taking my eyes away.
If you didn’t read the book before this one, it’s okay, they was the story goes, you really don’t need to, but I do recommend reading it to understand the characters..
Cliffhanger! The author had to stop right there? Really? A good author will leave you hanging and wanting more. So I’m hanging on a cliff and dying for the next book!

always exciting moments!

Our intrepid group can never complain of boredom! I love that the characters stay loyal and strong for their friends and partners. Especially Danio and Charlie, they’re so opposite yet totally a couple and Danio’s humour strikes sparks constantly. Poor Charlie. This book has even more excitement and danger, in a new magical environment that will take them working together to get out of. My applause to the author for such vibrancy!!!

I couldn't put this book down. My heart is still racing. Magic Vanished is an edge of your seat thrill ride.

So much drama is happening at once. Someone from the gang is missing. TS's soulpack bond with Delihia is hanging on by a thread. The entire pack is temporarily suspended from MES. And, then there is a labyrinth. A FREAKING LABYRINTH! Y'all...I am not okay.

And that ending...

What another awesome adventure!!

The characters were incredible!! They are all still the toughest and quite the force to be messed with. Danio is still my favorite!!

The storyline was phenomenal!! This author took on a whole new journey that each character had to go and kept me on the edge of my seat throughout the entire book. I highly recommend this read!!

5 stars like every single book in the series so far! I just love it!
I feel so at home when reading about the adventures of Jen and her close supernatural friends!
Going for the next one!... the only thing stopping me from devouring the whole series up in a couple of nights is the fact that there are only 4 more books before the series ends :(
