Escaped and out for Revenge. He’ll Stop at Nothing Until He’s Killed You… Do you Run or Stand and Fight?
When the brother of mercenary Nicholas Snipe (Execution of Faith) escapes from a prison for the criminally insane, he tears London apart in his search for Ex-SAS Soldier Danny Pearson. As he leaves a bloody trail of bodies in his wake, Snipe has only one destination in mind, to find and kill Danny Pearson the man who took his brother’s life.
Stephen Taylor spent over twenty years wiring up homes and businesses with audio visual kit before the big 50 started looming and he finally sat down to write the book he’d always had rattling around in his head.
That book was Execution of Faith — a supercharged, no-nonsense thriller that hit the ground running and never looked back. Readers loved it so much he wrote a prequel, Vodka Over London Ice, which became the first in what is now the internationally bestselling Danny Pearson series.
Raised on a diet of Lee Child’s Jack Reacher, Vince Flynn’s Mitch Rapp, and Tom Wood’s Victor — with a healthy side serving of Die Hard, Daniel Craig’s Bond, and anything Guy Ritchie ever pointed a camera at — Stephen writes the kind of thrillers he wants to read: hard, fast, no filler, and with enough humour to keep you grinning between the gunfights.
The Danny Pearson series has found fans across the world who love action that doesn’t let up and a hero who’s as handy with a one-liner as he is with his fists. If you like your thrillers with the throttle wide open, you’re in the right place.
They say that there is an art to writing short stories. Well if there is, this author has it in heaps. This was an action packed roller coaster which had more to it than a lot of full length novels and keeps you on the edge of your seat from beginning to end. Looking forward to reading more!
Brilliant short story , I thought no one could be as bad as Nicholas Snipe then up pops his equally deranged older brother , full on action from beginning to end.
This story fills in some details, background and consequences of the authors excellent book Elimination of Faith, but it works just as well as a stand alone tale. For me this is definitely an author to follow. Thank you Stephen.
This was a different type of short story, it was almost a joke. I did't know if the story was like a fairy tale at first because the characters were like super power people? I would tell potential readers to look for something else to spend their time on.
If this is an example of Stephen Taylor’s thriller fiction, it’s a good preamble. The action is non-stop and narrative true to the genre. Enjoyable in its own way.
But… Though well written overall, there’s too much local idiom usage and reinforced violence to rate higher.
This short story was my introduction to Danny Pearson. I read it in a few hours, unputdownable as it was. Fast paced action, if a bit violent. Great read.
Another excellent book from Stephen Taylor. If you haven’t read the Danny Pearson series you are really missing out!! Cannot wait to read the next one!
I like the criminal minds/law and order vibes from this short story. It is interesting to read and caught my attention when I read a little about it first.
